In the anime Mikasa tells Historia "When you're a queen you can punch that runt for me" and that's why Historia does it. Mikasa even smiles when she does.
Correction, the reason why ymir had a different jaw titan form was because those traits are geneial thats why marcel and porco had similar forms, but the reason falco has it is because of the beast titan spinal fluid.
I also believe training might also affect the titan form because both Marcel, Porco and Falco all had physical training to inherit one of the titans. Falco ingesting the beast titans spinal I think is the reason why his titan has bird like claws or talons and it's mask resembles a beak. Ymir's titan could've been different because she wasn't compatible with the titan this might be why in Marley only certain people are chosen out of the warriors

Every Marley warrior candidate, every Eldian, who were to be shifters, NEEDED the beast spinal fluid in order to devour the previous shifter. The beast's spinal fluid has thus been present in every shifter we've seen the show. Regardless of this, they do NOT have animalistic characteristics due to the beast's fluid involvement. The attack titan of Eren has solely the attack's design, the female titan of Annie has solely the female design, The armor of Reiner has solely the armored design and etc. The jaw and the beast have animalistic features by DEFAULT. It wouldn't have mattered at all if Falco wasn't injected. His Jaws features would've been the same regardless.
@@arcyine Transforming Titans is not something only the beast can do because if that's the case, they how would the Reiss family have access to the beast titan fluid, after 100 years of exile. The thing is, any titan shifter's spinal fluid can transform Eldians into pure titans, which means they could be using the Cart's, Jaws, Female, Colossal, armor and Even the Warhammer. I don't know which Titan Shifter provides their spinal fluid to transform warriors to pure Titans, but for the Jaws Titan, they probably use the armor, or Warhammer spinal fluid for additional hardening abilities, because not all Jaws Titan have masks. I understand your point, but I don't think Marley used Beast titan Spinal fluid for transforming warriors, because if that's the case, then there should've been a Shifter gaining properties of the beast, under their time in the warrior program which would've lead them to use that technique everytime, so I don't think they are aware of it.

nah the plot holes throughout the story are what people didnt pay attention to. Dont bring the ending into this,this girl is an animeonly watcher and most of these "plot holes" are explained in the manga. The ending created a lot of questions that can't be and weren't answered by the author A totally "Leave everything to reader's interpretation" so he can vaguely walk away.

Most of these "plot holes" if not all can be explained if you pay more attention to the anime, as other people in the comments have already pointed out. As for titan hardening not looking like the three walls in paradis, it does seem to be possible to create hardened material in the shape of walls or more regular shapes, as Eren creates a sort of wall shaped hardening to create the titan trap devised by Hange.
Plus the walls were created by the founding titan and not minor titans. It is well known that the founding titan, with royal blood is close to divinity.

A chemical compound can have multiple very different solid forms. For example, graphite and diamond have the same chemical composition, they're both solid forms of carbon, but they look very different.
The regeneration thing is supposed to be AFTER they shift, not before. Any injury can be the trigger for the shifting, but they must be fully healed to shift again AFTER.
That contradicts itself but in anime he didn't turn titan right away after getting his hand chopped off, he probably got enough time to heal but bigger plot hole is why didn't that titan who eat Eren turn into shifter himself, maybe bcoz he was still alive inside him..
I think it's kind of established it's a matter of will and control of he abilities (titan spawning vs regeneration). Eren was eaten after being injured (for the first time) but wasn't dead once inside the stomach, so he could transform once he willed it somehow. On the other hand, Eren was already drained from the defeat against Reiner and Berthold, so they could just mutilate his arms in order to keep his body healing but not being able to transform. If they tried to straight amputate Eren's limbs, he would have transformed as easily as Reined and Berthold did when Mikasa stabbed but failed to kill them immediately. Also we see that the regeneration power can be controlled and even stopped, as Eren stays without a leg and half blind (and Reiner kept the bite wound in his arm unhealed). The only thing it seems they can't do, is transform if they don't have any injuries. Many use blades, Eren bites, Annie uses a special ring etc. Apparently nobody figured out they could just bite their tangue. Not very theatrical thogh😂
-Supervisor would be dead unless they're a shifter because there are pure titans lurking outside the walls. Even Reiner, Annie and Bert struggled to reach the walls with their titans. Reiner and Annie took turns and carried each other, that's also why they didn't turn into titans when Marcel got eaten because it consumes stamina and they could only turn for limited times, also they'd attract a lot of pure titans (This whole scene was cut in the anime) -Yes, Cart Titan and Beast titan duo was used against other nations. -The fleet not being mentioned doesn't really add anything because Kruger had killed all the soldiers as well. Also, remember that Zeke had pieced together about Grisha using the "missing attack titan" in S4E15 which means that Marley already had suspicions of someone having the attack titan who destroyed the fleet -It's highly likely that Marley and Eldia had different writing systems since very start, the eldians who stayed on Marley must've picked the writing system of Marley. -The blood test couldn't determine if the eldian had royal blood because if it could then Zeke wouldn't be able to hide the fact that he also has royal blood. That's why Marley called Zeke as "boy wonder" -Last one is because of stamina. " *After transforming* if your body is severly damaged then your body is too busy healing to let you use your titan form". When Eren's hand got chopped off in S1E5, he had stamina because he hadn't use his titan form yet, that's why he was able to transform. --Out of all titan shifters we have seen in the anime, Ymir was the only one who wandered in pure titan form(60 years) and didn't eat a shifter right away. That's probably why she couldn't acquire all the characteristics of the jaw. Remember Mikasa also mentioned when she fought Porco in S4E7 that "it's totally different from Ymir, it moves way too fast". It could be because porco had warrior training but still adds to the fact that Ymir didn't had all the traits of the jaw The only one I think here is not explained well in manga is the Armin one, but again there are few articles of people who has survived large fall in real life as well. If anything, it's a plot armor more than a plot hole I'm not good with words, i hope it's still understandable

But there's another reason, Paths Eren already exists before Eren even became a titan which implies that Eren could've never died until he reaches paths and manipulate Grisha. So, Eren would've always avoided death(or get lucked out) until he reaches paths.
7:27 So it's not really a plot hole because as Levi said earlier: If you transform and get severely injured afterwards your body's too busy healing for you to transform again. Eren didn't transform before he got eaten so he would have the ability to do it.
Your last plot hole was wrong. It is clearly written on the site that: "The ability to transform into a Titan could be hindered by injuries inflicted on the human body. A human could transform into a Titan with injuries as severe as a missing limb, but only if a previous transformation had not occurred recently. If a human emerged from their Titan form and received a severe injury, this person was not able to transform into a Titan again until said injuries healed."

The reason eren couldn't transform in the forest after having his arms cut off wasn't only that his arms were cut off. His energy was already low from having transformed once before, and the energy cost of regenerating the arms was simply more than he was gaining. When he lost an arm and a leg Alric style in the first season, it was the first time he turned into the attack titan. He had full titan energy and while regenerating was obviously costly there too, having a full energy bar is definitely enough to create one single titan body.
Or the canned goods were imported and some people learn more than 1 language? And It just happened that Ymir can read them too since she became a goddess and all...
yeah, or more likely that eldia (similar to england) forced their language on marley back when they were in control, so the eldians on paradis still use eldian language, but marley has gone back to their pre-colonial language of marlean. the text on the cans is marlean, hence why reiner and ymir can both read it, but an islander should be able to because someone from paradis should only know eldian.

@ It was random bec there was an edited scene. In the manga, when levi informed historia, upon erwin's orders to become queen, historia refused, leading levi to physically assault her. With mikasa telling historia later on to punch the runt later on. The son of Reeves told historia after that while levi is an abrasive character deep down he's a good man. That's why mikasa's comment felt so random after that conversation and historia punching levi felt really out of the blue. I don't know why it wasn't animated but it could've made sense.

Still it made more sense in the manga why Historia would be eager to do so. I should be honest though that it wasn't a good idea to remove this scene in the anime "The one where Levi physically assaults Historia". It was just an important Levi moment and his speech was just very well done in the manga....
Ymir's Jaw is undeveloped, not necessarily a plot hole. When did Eren unlock hardening? Only when he ingested a bottle of fluid labelled hardening inside the sacrificial cave. Hardening is thus something that every titan shifter can add to their arsenal after the fact. Even though it's an intrinsic characteristic of the Armoured and Warhammer titans specifically, it can be added as an additional ability to all. Ymir never came across those things. There are also a lot of thematic reasons why certain Titan shifters vary so wildly. For instance, Porco's jaw has that armoured look because he was really destined for the Armour and it's a visual acknowledgement of that fact.
@@trickjokah it's representing the effect of the beast titan spinal fluid specifically how it affects his shifter form. Keep in mind that everyone who gets turned mindless by Zeke is pretty much used as fodder in Marleyan military operations. None of his spinal fluid was used for the transformation of actual shifters. Falco is the only shifter to inherit after being turned by Zeke.
I think that you basically inherit the titan you ate but you can have special abilities based on whose spinal fluid was used on you or if you ingest another titan's spinal fluid later on. Like Falco being a semi-beast semi- jaw titan. Eren getting the hardening skills from possibly a vial of spinal fluid from the armor titan. Maybe there's some science involved and not all of it works but some must.
@@lbn6486 I won't say more. But it stands to reason that there is way more variability in the nine shifters throughout history. Afterall it started with Ymir, then her 3 kids and over time has diluted to nine. So change occurs and there are not likely any hard and fast rules when it comes to titan forms. I think the walls don’t look like Titan hardening because they just use their bodies themselves to keep the walls sturdy and then the walls were just built around the Titans

They knew that there was a titan on paradis (the founder) and Zeke said he thought of some titan because of the ships. 7. Less of a plot hole and just plot armor from the show, it’s a show about naked titans can’t be realistic over everything 8. Marley was a country before eldia just took them over during the titan war, and Marley took it back they probably made Marley the main language again, while eldians who fled to the island kept there language. 10. They only did the blood test on people they knew weren’t eldians there was no point if they already knew. 11. Those were special titans made by king fritz they weren’t hardening like normal titans they were meant to stay like that forever, their hardening was like the armored and war hammers hardening around their body not the crystal type one. 12. It’s still possible to transform especially from eren, his rage mode showed him healing super fast and that transformation was probably just like that, plus they have to bleed to transform.
We can see in season 4 that Eren grew his arm and leg probably like in 30 min maybe not sure but it was fast and we don't know that for how much time he was in titan stomachs.
12. Also, healing can depend on one's mindset/emotions (Eren learnt how to control this in season 4). It's possible that when he was captured he was focusing only on fighting and escaping, however when he was eaten he was feeling more fear and rage leading to a transformation.
For the language difference between Paradis and Marley I think there might be a valid argument that the King of the Walls, in erasing everyone's memory of the outside world, also erased their knowledge of the written language and established a new one on Paradis to ensure that traces of Eldian history could not be understood. But I admit, that's not brought up in the show once haha
I would explain that differently: Reiner recognises that the can is written in marleyan, but he tries not to expose himself. That's why he simply says that he can't understand the language.
For me the biggest issue with Marcel's death is why they didn't just transform, although I'd probably guess it was due to them not wanting to draw attention from other Pure Titans or that they were panicked

if you read the manga then the "plot holes" are almost all solved. For example; the walls were made by the King Fritz, he was the founder and real blood so he could make any kind of hardening form(like when Ymir build the eldian empire) Other: Ymir read about that fish, but the point is not actually the language but the word. That kind of fish don't exist inside the walls so how could she knows? is coz she wasn't from Paradis in first place.. well the reason that Ymir's looked totally different could be either two things. it could be that only the galliard family has a hardent face and claws, because Ymir isn't a galliard she didn't have hardening on her face and claws, just like only the Yeager family has pointy ears. it could also be because Ymir has been wandering as a pure titan for 60 years while Porco and Marcel were first trained before they became the jaw titan
I think the training theory is probably the actual intended reason for some of the less impressive transformations such as Ymir's Jaw and Ksaver's Beast. Moreover, take a look at Grisha's Attack Titan and Freida's Founding Titan: one has a middle aged office worker's body and the other one looked like a generic Titan with feminine traits. They are both extremely underwhelming. Police Officer Kruger's Attack Titan was much better than Grisha's, and Eren's was the best version. I think the results of the final transformations are highly depended on the shifter's physicality. Eren is a highly trained acrobatic melee fighter at the peak of his physical condition, so his transformation becomes the best version of the Attack Titan of his era. There is more examples of this. Look at Researcher Ksaver's Beast Titan and Zeke's. This also explains why Marley only picks a couple of the most physically fit candidates from hundreds to be warriors. Remember all of the warrior candidates also effortlessly graduated into the top 10 of the 104th cadet corps and that includes Reiner who was almost a dropout of the Marley Warrior program. My guess is if a random untrained civilian Eldian accidentally received the shifter power, his/her transformation might not be much different from your average mindless Titans aside from the intelligence and some very muted 9 titans' traits.

For the jaw “plot hole” In season 4 part 1 they show it very briefly ”and in the manga they discuss” it’s implied that the marlian warriors were experimented on hence some of their more advanced titan features (Annie was fed different titan shifter spinal fluid from zeke and Reiner in order to call forth pure titans and her advanced hardening) there are files that show it during the candidate profile in episode 3 Also the anime cut out a lot of the marlian candidate flashback but The marlians had a plan devised, every 30 days (or full moon) they will send a survey boat to the port where they take eldians to be transformed into pure titans. Now my only issue with that is the three warriors were on paradis for 5 years did they not feel the need to take action and go to the wall from there?
well they did, they sent Zeke and Pieck with a squad. You could say that they waited too long, I get that Marley had other wars to deal with, but 5 years is a long time to let 4 of the 6 titan shifters on a mission away from Marley
Marley was fighting a war, to be honest it's insane that they spared four of their titan shifters, but at least they kept the most useful two for war - the beast & kart, before sending the two of them to Paradis to retrieve the other shifters once it was getting too tough back home without them. Marley didnt develop weapons-wise with the rest of the world because of how much they relied on the titans.
@@DaChiba well kinda, the colossal is a tactical nuke that has to get very close to the enemy to be effective... while the beast for example can deal with an entire army or a fleet while being very far away. And the Cart is just behind the beast probably. You could say that the beast can throw Bertholdt just like he did in s3 at Shiganshina, but that would greatly expose Bertholdt to enemy's defenses. And lastly, the colossal nuke destroys way too much, Marley wanted to take control of enemy bases rather than simply destroy them
What if Marley had sent these four for spying and gathering Intel and not to actually infiltrate? From Annie's OVA we knew she found that founder is with Eren Yaeger. So that cud be why they stayed back, deviating from their original mission which wasn't supposed to be more than 3-4 days.
1. Plothole: no she inherited the jaw titan, you can even see it in season 2 she gained some kind of claws and sharp teeth (in the flashback she had normal teeth). More reasons: Marcel and Porco are brother thats why they look closer, titans can look WAAAY different (Manga last chapters) and she was not trained so she didnt gain full powers of the jaw titan (so not crystalized teeth and claws) 2-5. Plotholes: explained by other comments already 6. Plothole: yeah, there was a titan shifter and is now on paradis....now they cant get it back....or maybe it was another secret reason to start the mission for paradise 7. Plothole: yep would have died.....IF he hadn´t lost the 3d manouver gear in that scene i could have understood it, he could have dropped slowly on there if the wire would have been still connected and have gotten a bit loger because of the heat (a bit melting) and then dropping slowly on the roof (like the a drop of honey)....but yeah, would have died.....of his crispy skin stoppef the fall :P 8. Plothole: Eldia and Marley have always been split and had differen languages (especially episode 5 of s4 part 2 says that......the king wanted ymir to conquer the marleyans, so always had different languages) 9. Plothole: with the bloodtest they can only see if the person is part of ymirs race (so can transform in titans) and not if someone has royal blood, because Kruger is not royal. 10. Plothole: i think Armin once saied in S2 that the hardening is only a slim coading of the wall....i think? or something like that 11. Plothole: you messed that up, it is AFTER the transformation. Eren didnt transform there yet, he may be healing but isnt exhausted yet, so he can still transform.
And the endurance of Eren in the season 4 is superb. He can transform even aftet loosing his head. Different titans have different transform endurance load.
I think the claws are just hardening and Ymir’s teeth noticeably change from normal to sharp after she acquires the jaw. Also I think it would be pretty easy to find a reason for why the marleyan government didn’t send more ships back after that one didn’t come back from Paradis: -Ships regularly come by and transform prisoners into titans. They would have found the wreckage in no time. To add onto that we have to remember that the ship was carrying rebels plotting to restore the eldian empire. They could have assumed that they fought back and somebody was turned into a titan while on the ship. This would have destroyed the ship and could have explained any blood left behind on the docks as the Marleyans would have concluded that the mindless titan just ate all of the survivors and just continued towards the walls. The shape of the hardening walls can be explained very easily: -These we’re created by the founding titan. He could have made a couple more titans clean up and smooth the outer layers and erase the memories of anyone who saw it. Or have all of the eldians clean up and smooth out the walls themselves then erase their memory. -Another explanation is these shapes is simply looking at erens hardened knuckles. He literally makes FLAT hardened panels on his arms and hands and fingers. Btw that very last part of the video is just wrong. Levi is in his mid 30s and mikasa is around 15. literaly every "plot hole" here can be explained easily, except maybe one that hasn't been included here. 1. this one can be easily explained like this: It's been stated multiple times that Marleyans experiment with titan shifters to try and give them different abilities, in fact Annie probably didn't get the hardening on her own, just like Eren. And there's also the training factor. 2. It's probably like they said. They probably got too scared and didn't think about what would happen, plus we've never been told how much it takes for a human to come out of the titan after eating a titan shifter, in fact when Armin ate Bertholdt, we then just cut to a scene where he was out of the titan. Same goes for Eren with his father. 3. This plot hole is completely useless, since they literally stated the possible reason by themselves (creator of the video), which is also quite possible. Marley trusted them after all they'd been through, plus they don't just give out the titan powers to anyone. 4. Same as before (creator of the video removed the possible plot hole, plus not explaining everything doesn't mean It's a plot hole, otherwise they'd need an explanation for every explanation, like "who was the war with, why did it start" etc...), or it could be that she was still under training (Pieck). 5. Mikasa literally said "When you're a queen you can punch that runt for me", plus she even seemed happy when Historia did that. 6. He probably threw it far away from the port, as we've seen that the Attack titan holder has immense strenght, and this one even more than Eren, from I can see. So it was probably so deep into the sea that they didn't find it, tho there probably were some people suspecting that something had happened, especially because of Kruger's disappearance. 7. Plot armor/device. 8. This one. This one is the one that convinced me into writing this comment. There are 2 possible reasons, or they could also be interlocked. One, is that the king of Paradis simply changed the Eldians' memories into knowing another language, either an already existing one, or one created by the king himself. (plus in the paths he'd have all the time to "develop" the language. Don't count this part very much tho as, I think it sounds stupid, but I still wanted to add it). The second one is that Eldia and Marley were actually separated and already had different languages, before moving into the wall to create the so called "paradise". 9. Why would they need to do a blood test on someone that was gonna be a titan soon enough anyway. 10. They literally stated that the hardening and the walls have the same composition. Same composition doesn't mean same appearance, maybe that's what the Colossal's hardening looks like, or it might be because Ymir helped to create the wall, and therefore made it look like that (also plot device). 11. I think the explanation is, if the titan shifter's wound isn't steaming or visibly regenerating, they can transform into a titan. (Similar thing happened to Reiner when he nearly had his head severed by Levi in the battle of Shiganshina)
No Levi even said it in the video. AFTER transforming into a titan if the user is severly damaged he cant transform second time. For example in his last scene Porco was severly damaged and couldn't transform again so he sacrificed himself to Falco
The last plot hole is easily explainable. Titan shifters can chose wether they want to transform or heal. Since eren didn't know he could heal when he was eaten and then gave himself a set goal he transformed instead of healing. 😎
Ohh, I finally understand now. So Eren technically didn't know how to cancel the healing, which is why he didn't transform, the others could've told him but they don't want to lose the Founding titan as there are many titans in the forest to outnumber Eren.
(Only a theory) The reason Ymirs Titan didn't change that much is because she stayed in her Titan form very long. And the jaw Titan doesn't look like porcos form. There isn't a general look for the jaw titan, or at least not a specific. It's all about genetics, that's why they don't look the same. Take for an example, all the Yeager titans has pointy ears. Because of genetics
The reason Eren was able to transform in the Titans stomach was because he had not transformed previously. Titan Transformations use up quite a bit of energy, and if they're injured just after exiting their Titan, they aren't able to transform. If a Shifter is majorly injured, but hadn't transformed recently, then they can still turn into a Titan.

The thing about the writing system plot hole though: Yes while it has been only 100 years and it usually takes longer than that to create and adopt a completely new writing system/script, I think it was Carl Fritz that changed the writing system, in the people's minds, when he changed the memories of all the eldians he brought to paradis
Or an even easier explanation. Reiner is just better at acting. He knew nobody knows he's a Marlyan undercover agent, so he just pretended he couldn't read it and got surprised when he realized that Ymir could. People overthing this way too much.

A language won't change over a 100 years, and you can't force a whole population of an empire to learn a different language that may existed before or you just come up with (unless you have the Founding Titan wich Marley have not). Reiner pretending not being able to read it, and Ymir just slipping up and blow her cover makes most sense.
First plothole mistake: Maybe since Ymir was in pure titan form for a very long time she might've not inhertied the power of the jaw. Or it maybe that Ymir didn't know the abilities of the jaw to actually activate them (Jaws and claws). 6th plothole mistake: Maybe Marley already knew about the titan shifter being in paradis maybe thats why they sent the warrior candidates after a hundred years of just staying idle. 7th plothole mistake: Armin was burnt and landed on a 2 story building which is somewhere between 20-30 meters tall. So the total fall would be 20-30 meters. And since Armin was already burnt he didnt have pain receptors or blood circulating which means he would still be alive for 10-15 minutes. 8th plothole mistake: It is possible that the 2 languages (marleys and paradis) differed a bit, or it could be that the language used in marley evolved over the 100 years and the language in paradis evolved over the 100 years in a different way, making the changes quite big. 10th plothole mistake: The titan wall hardening could be different because ymir made those titans for the walls in the first place and it is possible that colossus hardening looks different. Last plothole mistake: Since the titans were never made a rule book about titans, it is possible that either the attack titan can transform when injured or maybe because it was Erens first transformation. Or maybe the arm cut off wasn't a very big injury to prevent him from transforming.
Most of these plot holes can be explained just by paying closer attention to the anime. So here goes: 1. It's never explicitly stated that every titan shifter looks the same there are multiple examples of this. Lets take the example you gave of armin and bertholt. Did you know that bertholt's colossal titan has ears while armin's doesn't. Thats just one example. Another would be Eren and Grisha's attck titan they look very different. Also if you watch the final episode and look at all the titan shifters of the past none of them look exactly the same. They are molded the way the founder ymir wants them to be. Ymir's titan did already looked similar to the jaws so i get the confusion but things do actually change if you watch closely the shape of her teeth and the sharpness of her nails also change. 2. Reiner and his friends would never have "eaten ymir" as it's never stated that marley had even allowed them to inherit two titan abilities. Their mission was always retrieval. Also when passing down the ability there would be no way to seperate it again so they would have to pass it down that way from then onwards. Even when they discover eren is the attack titan and the founding titan. Their mission remained to retrieve it but never to kill or eat eren. Annie also explains that they ran away in panick because reiner ran first and even tells reiner they "would of been able to re-capture the jaws if he had remained composed in that situation". This literally explains that they were so shocked they didn't have time to really think it through. 3. You literally explain it yourself but if you want more proof. Magath does have a conversation at one point talking about if they shouldn't send kids for such an important mission. But it's explained that those kids are the best of the best and are trust worthy marley soldiers. Another example is Faze gabi who as we have seen is extremely well trained. So it makes sense why they would trust their warriors and not need a supervisor. 4. Again you explain this plot hole as well. Marley was hated by other nations because they had used the titan shifters to dominate other countries. So putting all their titan shifters on one mission would leave them defenseless from other nations they are fighting. it made sense to not include all shifters on the mission. 5. I agree with the historia punching Levi plot hole im gonna be so honest. I know they technically explain it in the manga but i was still confused watching the anime it was unecessary to remove that scene it would of made so much more sense and its a really quick scene that adds so much more context as to why she punched levi. Watching the anime it makes absolutely no sense as to why mikasa would randomly say "you can punch him" and why she would even want to punch him. It just pisses me off so much as including one really quick scene can fix this. I don't get what they were thinking or just remove the punch all together if your going to remove the context. SO DUMB (It makes me angry because this anime is otherwise perfect). Maybe you can say mikasa was still angry that levi beat up eren but its a STRONG MAYBE. 6. A titan shifter is not the only logical conclusion for why those marley soldiers didn't get back to marley after grisha inherits the attack titan. Marley may have assumed that it was pure titans and not a shifter as pure titans are easily strong enough to wipe out a marley ship or two. It also makes much more sense since pure titans were also mentioned as a big reason as to why marley hadn't invaded paradis sooner. 7. In terms of armin falling 164 feet and being burned alive. He technically didn't survive the fall he was definitely on his way to dying just not instantly and people have survived falls higher than 164 feet. Also not eveyone dies instantaneously from a fall. People who even have had their heads cut off have a few seconds before they actually die. Which is the point here he was dying, he didn't survive the burning or the fall. Its only because of the colossal titan that he even survived at all. But i will admit he was one of the main charecters so obviously the entire cast has plot armour. If this was real they would all probably be dead within the first mission because main charecters don't exist in real life. War is war and people die at random. 8. Marley was colonised by Eldia in the past they were not always the same people. If you look at countries that have been colonised no matter how brutal they find ways to retain their culture. It makes perfect sense for marley and eldians to have two different languages. This is probably the most ridiculous "plot hole" you thought you found. 9. Why would they do a blood test on people they don't care about at all and are going to kill. It would be a pointless waste of resources as they caught them red handed already. If you watch the scene when they torture them they only really care about "the owl" which the eldians didn't know who it was. Also the eldians knew if marley had a eldian with royal blood then eldians would be much more worse off then they already are. Also if they were hypothetically to do a blood test im sure "the owl" would step in to fake the results as he was a spy who did not want marley to have an eldian with royal blood. 10. They literally explain how the walls were built when hange analyses eren's hardening to the walls hardening and found out they were the same. Titans who use hardening can change the structure at will while still being comprised of the same material. Hange explains this already. 11. In the clip you just showed of levi explaining why titans can't transform while healing he literally says, as in within the first 2 seconds "after transforming". This only applies after a titan shifter has already transformed. ITS LITERALLY IN THE CLIP YOU SHOWED. oh god, just pay attention. So when eren got swallowed by the titan this was before he transformed so he didn't have to wait till his arm healed. "If you had bothered" to watch the clip YOU used as evidence then this video would not still be uploaded. smh.
7:30 it doesn't works that way. The healing over transformation factor only works if the shifter wants to trigger healing. Once they start healing then they can't transform. But let alone starting to heal he didn't had any clue that humans can transform to titans. He just simply triggered his will by his desperation to kill titans from insane hatred which triggererd his transformation. If this was supposed to be the carziest plot hole then wonder did you were really watching attack on Titan or did you watched the first layer of it which is preceding 1000s of more layers similarly like the kitkat in the thumbnail Aot was never a straight up shonen story. It has always been a deep dark story which doesn't have a single meaning. Even people who read the entire manga discover and get a new angle when they revisite the story. If anything anyone can actually complaint about attack on Titan that is it's very very very much underexplained by the author. But even that is intentional. So what may seem a plothole is actually a segment which had different causes and consequences which weren't shown onscreen and left for the audience to think and realize. So if one does not understand why a and how an incident in aot is making sense then they are not thoughtful enough or they just misunderstood aot about being an anime for entertainment. It was never meant to entertain or be a story which will give some life lessons to the audience. Attack on Titan is simply a reflection of our Actual world. That's it. If someone wants to find greatness or holes in this story. It's just their personal problem. One who understands true meaning of this series doesn't cares if it's ranked lowest or highest. Because none of those makes any sense to them! It's like if someone sees paper getting burned , they just won't make plot holes out of how fire isn't red enough there or how the paper isn't large enough. It's a fact paper will get burned if ignited. In the same way aot just pin points and makes the real world facts clear as day. Nothing else matters...
Well... I have free time so... let´s do this. (With spoilers till Final season part 2) 1: A titan form is based on each person, who they were when they were alive. And the form of the power of a titan shifter it doesn´t have to be exactly the same, berthold and Armin had more differences in comparison with Marcel and Galliard´s titans; why? Simple, they were brothers. So when they became the exact the titan shifter the difference was minimal. Just look at Falco, totally different. Ymir on the other hand didn´t change much except for her teeth, and here´s why: "I will never lie to myself again. I´ll live being true to who I am" So her titan desing was left practically the same as a metaphore. 2: You are right, just within like 2/3 minutes Ymir should have become again a human... sadly they run away in fear at the first 5 seconds. And also, important... is metioned by Annie: "Let´s go back. Let´s find the Jaw and go back, since it should have became a human again" And then Reiner insisted on going with the mission and the also metioned that is a bad idea to go for the jaw since they should have the advatage there if they transform. Berthold said that that wasn´t possible, for them to learn it that quick... and then Reiner said in response that in Berthold case he could managed the titan right away. And yes, everyone mental states played a part in it... also the beating between Annie and Reiner. 3: Well... you are answering yourself. "Come on, they are titan shifters that destroyed a whole Nation before. We gave the equipment. They are warriors first and foremost. and is just a couple of days walking." 4: Marley was at war with some nations at the time, and there are MANY factors that could happend or not to make said decision... but also: Yes, the cart would have been the best... for leading them there, the simplest thing that Maleyans cared the less about. And then what? Colosal and Armor to break through, Female to lead the titans, and Marcel as the Jaw titan because with was seen the best LIDER model for the mission, and also not the second, but the fastest. Once in the wall the Cart wouldn´t have been a good choice, neither bad. 2:13 Also... NO. reiner said after running away: "They said there wouldn´t be any titans this far from the wall" 5: ... really... It´s not a plothole, it´s a CHANGE. Is Mikasa the one who said to Historia to smack him. The only thing that you could argue about that is the reason behind Mikasa saying that to Historia... which is actually still there, just not that imponent and savage as the manga version. 6: "Hey, it seems that we lost contact with the ship that had some criminals in them, let´s see what happend" First, the ship was completely destroyed and spread in the ocean. Now, let´s say that there was indeed diving tecnology and that the ship was more intact than I assume, and that someone after seeing a peaceful dock the first time decied to go back to Marley to go back again with a whole diving equipment just in case. "Oh, a broken ship and some dead bodies... did they had a problem/accident with the titans they transform at the time? Nah, I´m sure that is that one of the Marleyans on the ship was actually not only an Eldian but also the owner of the only Titan shifter that went lost 80 years ago" Not likely, none of it. Not impossible either... but come on, is not a plothole. 7: Ok, on this one I don´t have much to say, since I´m not a doctor. Are you? I´ll put a pin on this one... but I think that is not impossible. Also, one thing I know, being burn to a crisp doesn´t incrise fall damage, if you can survive either of one, is not imposible to survive both, that happended at the same time, and it´s not he would have survive for more than 10 minutes. 8: Nice one!... But hear me out, on the first episode of season two Zeke says "I was pretty sure we spoke the same language... maybe you are just too afraid to talk." So it is obvious that they speak the same language. Then, one thing that you maybe didn´t undertood is that a language and an Alphabet is not the same and that Maley and Eldia existed for more than 2 millenia. Also, we should need to watch about Shingeki no Kyojin Alphabet to really understand the deepness of this, because just so you know, all the letters on the show are actually made up for that sake. And even after that, I have another BIG reason... herring is a SEA fish. Eren didn´t start to heal, instead filled with saddnes, incredibility and RAGE, he transform. It is clearly written on the site that: "The ability to transform into a Titan could be hindered by injuries inflicted on the human body. A human could transform into a Titan with injuries as severe as a missing limb, but only if a previous transformation had not occurred recently. Dumb take. The only people who read that can were Ymir and Reiner, both of whom could read Marleyan. The point of the scene was that Reiner was in Soldier mode and didn't break his cover, but was still shocked that Ymir could read Marleyan.

With the titan hardening, its made by the founder and Zeke said she could make anything, so with her power scale she could make it different than the 9 titans. Also the cart titan did go with Reiner and Berhotldt at some point, I remember her hiding out in the anime in season 4. I also think Galliard's Jaw titan's ability reflected the human's compatibility with the titan and obviously the training they undergo in preparation for that power. Also the 9th plot hole really isnt one considering the marleyan made the decision not to test Dinah. I do feel with Eren if we ignore the fact that when eaten he still could've transformed due to being injured before using his power, he would stick be able to transform eventually if his titan healing factor is working faster than the stomach acid could dissolve his skin. Also he could've adapted to the environment which made his healing more effective thus leading to transformation.

6:49 well actually titan hardening doesn't have to be crystal, just look at the armor titan, and the armor on the armor titan is in fact titan hardening because when Eren started the rumbling he said that he undid all the titan hardening, and the armor titan's armor started to crumble alongside the walls and Annie's crystal cocoon
0:21 this one’s a little explainable. Why it doesn’t look as intense as some of the other jaws is that Marcel and Porco are Marlian warriors. They were picked from a crop of eldian candidates and were deemed the best. They do this in an attempt to draw out the most strength from one of the 9 as possible. Ymiru, on the other hand, is essentially a nobody picked from the streets. She probably doesn’t have the physical prowess equal to the tested and selected marlian warriors. This is probably why she looks so lack luster and she’s hardly a powerful jaw. Something quoted by Mikasa after witnessing porcos. Now, why it didn’t change at all? Maybe as a plot device. Season 2 was about the mystery behind where titans come from and how they function. I can see, especially since the story telling is shown through images rather than text, that isayama chose to keep their titans identical in appearance to plant the question. Especially since this came after ragako and before the reveal of the armored and colossal. Still a plot hole tho Also, I think it’s funny how the military of paradis name these titans and just so happen to give them the names they’re called around the world. You can argue that maybe it’s the memories king fritz wiped kinda resurfacing when faced with trauma or something
There's speculation that the reason is that the Jaw Titan is exclusively for males meaning it didn't develop properly because a female ate it. There's no evidence whatsoever and this is a wild guess, but it could make sense.
So for the last one might be because the rule of regenerating only counts after you turn into a titan. Or the wounds have to be closed by the regenerations for the transformation not to take place. For why wound can take place as long as the shifter bleeds so they can transform. Like how jaws titan bit off eren’s legs in the beginning he still transformed because either one the wound was still fresh and open or 2 this rule only applies when a shifter already transformed. Eren’s wound was probably open in the titan stomach and the healing factor isn’t always active like during one of eren’s test in season 1 For the armin surviving plot while the burnt fucked him up the bones might of been strong enough to survive the impact as well as the fall.
I have another one: when someone transform himself in colossal Titan there is a big explosion.. infact Berthold during the fight where Erwin died could not turn in colossal to close to Rainer to avoid to kill him. So … why at the beginning of the anime the colossal titan appear from nowhere just close to the walls without destroy everything?

7:08 after transforming if ur body is damaged the titans ability is busy healing the body part in episode 5, eren wasnt in titan form when his hand got cut off and to transform into a titan there must be a wound so basically thats the reason eren was able to transform in trost arc.. but when reiner and burrito kidnapped eren and ymir they were just out of the titan body with heavy injury. so the titan powers were busy healing them and thats why they couldn't transform

4:55 we saw this language in another instances of AoT series. It's not Marlean writing system. It is a writing system used in Middle-Eastern Federation and also by mid-eastern refugees in Marley. So, Ymir wasn't eldian from Marley from the beginning. She was one if the Mid-Eastern eldians.
There is also one very silly plot hole : how is it that both eldia and marley named the titans exactly the same(beast titan , armour titan , female titan and collosal titan)
I think that once the person inherits the Titan, they get the memories and could have just informed everyone of the name. Like Eren did back in season 3 where Hange laughs at him.

One: Mikasa told Historia to puch Levi when she became queen so that “plothole” isn’t even a plothole. Two: If u get hurt, lose a limb, etc and you didn’t transform into a titan prior to that injury THEN u can transform into a titan however if you get an injury like that AFTER becoming a titan then your powers will be focused on healing u instead. When eren got swallowed he didn’t become a titan prior to that event therefore he could transform, I swear these “plotholes” are just proof you didn’t pay attention in the show.

Ymir didn't have the jaw structure that the Jaw Titans had. the explanation for Falco's bird-shaped Titan is Zeke's Beast Titan genes. second statement doesn't contradict anything. if both nations spoke different languages, the Marleyans and the people of Paradis should not have been able to communicate throughout the series. an explanation for this could be that both nations spoke the same language but used different writing techniques. third statement can be true. Their knowledge of titan shifters is better than eldians referenced by the liquid they feed their Warriors which give them the titan hardening ability. Since Ymir was a pure titan before eating Marcel, she didnt get any enhancements from Marley so her jaw titan is the natural base form while Marcel and Porco’s are enhanced which is why they look different. Biggest plot hole that bothers me is Annie’s hardening crystal was indestructible, but during the Levi Squad V. Kenny Squad fight in the crystal caves, both groups can shoot their 3DMG hooks into the crystal walls and Kenny’s gun literally blew a crater in one of the walls. How is Annie’s crystal harder than the founders crystal and why didn’t they use the same guns they gave Kenny to shatter Annie’s crystal?
I think annie was relentlessly replenishing the hardening around her. Whereas there was no one in the crystal caves to replenish the crystals to regenerate or not take any damage at all. Remember the time when Annie get out of the crystal? She was so tired. Also, we can say the same thing for the walls. But I think the reason why they dont "regenerate" is because the titans inside the are asleep.

THIS is an ACTUAL plot hole. None of the other things are lol. Maybe bert gradually disintegrates his body to the ground and then runs while the smoke is still up? NO cuz erens hooks were still in. It had to be instant, so Bert would HAVE TO FALL and then run into the hole in the wall and hide. But no way he could do that without being spotted becuz there were soldiers on both sides of the wall... PLOT HOLE

@@continentdude12 yeah its a plot hole, but to be honest it doesnt really matter, if the colossal's corpse was left there, rather than actually changing anything it would just bear more confusion and give us more clue on to what titan shifters are, and how armin and erwin came to their conclusions about titan shifters.
There's a way to counter the last plothole. In season one, we learnt that titan shifters can stop the healing of one body part to speed the healing process of another when the female titan did it. So maybe the titan shofter can do that in their human forms aswell

Correction, the reason why ymir had a different jaw titan form was because those traits are geneial thats why marcel and porco had similar forms, but the reason falco has it is because of the beast titan spinal fluid.
I also believe training might also affect the titan form because both Marcel, Porco and Falco all had physical training to inherit one of the titans. Falco ingesting the beast titans spinal I think is the reason why his titan has bird like claws or talons and it's mask resembles a beak. Ymir's titan could've been different because she wasn't compatible with the titan this might be why in Marley only certain people are chosen out of the warriors

Every Marley warrior candidate, every Eldian, who were to be shifters, NEEDED the beast spinal fluid in order to devour the previous shifter. The beast's spinal fluid has thus been present in every shifter we've seen the show. Regardless of this, they do NOT have animalistic characteristics due to the beast's fluid involvement.
The attack titan of Eren has solely the attack's design, the female titan of Annie has solely the female design, The armor of Reiner has solely the armored design and etc.
The jaw and the beast have animalistic features by DEFAULT. It wouldn't have mattered at all if Falco wasn't injected. His Jaws features would've been the same regardless.

The thing is, any titan shifter's spinal fluid can transform Eldians into pure titans, which means they could be using the Cart's, Jaws, Female, Colossal, armor and Even the Warhammer.
I don't know which Titan Shifter provides their spinal fluid to transform warriors to pure Titans, but for the Jaws Titan, they probably use the armor, or Warhammer spinal fluid for additional hardening abilities, because not all Jaws Titan have masks.
I understand your point, but I don't think Marley used Beast titan Spinal fluid for transforming warriors, because if that's the case, then there should've been a Shifter gaining properties of the beast, under their time in the warrior program which would've lead them to use that technique everytime, so I don't think they are aware of it.

Most of these "plot holes" if not all can be explained if you pay more attention to the anime, as other people in the comments have already pointed out. As for titan hardening not looking like the three walls in paradis, it does seem to be possible to create hardened material in the shape of walls or more regular shapes, as Eren creates a sort of wall shaped hardening to create the titan trap devised by Hange.
Plus the walls were created by the founding titan and not minor titans.
It is well known that the founding titan, with royal blood is close to divinity.

The regeneration thing is supposed to be AFTER they shift, not before. Any injury can be the trigger for the shifting, but they must be fully healed to shift again AFTER.
That contradicts itself but in anime he didn't turn titan right away after getting his hand chopped off, he probably got enough time to heal but bigger plot hole is why didn't that titan who eat Eren turn into shifter himself, maybe bcoz he was still alive inside him..
I think it's kind of established it's a matter of will and control of he abilities (titan spawning vs regeneration).
Eren was eaten after being injured (for the first time) but wasn't dead once inside the stomach, so he could transform once he willed it somehow.
On the other hand, Eren was already drained from the defeat against Reiner and Berthold, so they could just mutilate his arms in order to keep his body healing but not being able to transform.
If they tried to straight amputate Eren's limbs, he would have transformed as easily as Reined and Berthold did when Mikasa stabbed but failed to kill them immediately.
Also we see that the regeneration power can be controlled and even stopped, as Eren stays without a leg and half blind (and Reiner kept the bite wound in his arm unhealed).
The only thing it seems they can't do, is transform if they don't have any injuries. Many use blades, Eren bites, Annie uses a special ring etc.
Apparently nobody figured out they could just bite their tangue. Not very theatrical thogh😂

-Last one is because of stamina. " *After transforming* if your body is severly damaged then your body is too busy healing to let you use your titan form". When Eren's hand got chopped off in S1E5, he had stamina because he hadn't use his titan form yet, that's why he was able to transform.
--Out of all titan shifters we have seen in the anime, Ymir was the only one who wandered in pure titan form(60 years) and didn't eat a shifter right away. That's probably why she couldn't acquire all the characteristics of the jaw. Remember Mikasa also mentioned when she fought Porco in S4E7 that "it's totally different from Ymir, it moves way too fast". It could be because porco had warrior training but still adds to the fact that Ymir didn't had all the traits of the jaw
The only one I think here is not explained well in manga is the Armin one, but again there are few articles of people who has survived large fall in real life as well. If anything, it's a plot armor more than a plot hole

"The ability to transform into a Titan could be hindered by injuries inflicted on the human body. A human could transform into a Titan with injuries as severe as a missing limb, but only if a previous transformation had not occurred recently. The reason eren couldn't transform in the forest after having his arms cut off wasn't only that his arms were cut off. His energy was already low from having transformed once before, and the energy cost of regenerating the arms was simply more than he was gaining. When he lost an arm and a leg Alric style in the first season, it was the first time he turned into the attack titan. He had full titan energy and while regenerating was obviously costly there too, having a full energy bar is definitely enough to create one single titan body.
I think for number 8, marley and eldia probably always had different writing systems, not just since the last 100 years.

yeah, or more likely that eldia (similar to england) forced their language on marley back when they were in control, so the eldians on paradis still use eldian language, but marley has gone back to their pre-colonial language of marlean. the text on the cans is marlean, hence why reiner and ymir can both read it, but an islander should be able to because someone from paradis should only know eldian.

@ It was random bec there was an edited scene. In the manga, when levi informed historia, upon erwin's orders to become queen, historia refused, leading levi to physically assault her. With mikasa telling historia later on to punch the runt later on. The son of Reeves told historia after that while levi is an abrasive character deep down he's a good man.
That's why mikasa's comment felt so random after that conversation and historia punching levi felt really out of the blue. I don't know why it wasn't animated but it could've made sense.

Ymir's Jaw is undeveloped, not necessarily a plot hole.
When did Eren unlock hardening? Only when he ingested a bottle of fluid labelled hardening inside the sacrificial cave. Hardening is thus something that every titan shifter can add to their arsenal after the fact. Even though it's an intrinsic characteristic of the Armoured and Warhammer titans specifically, it can be added as an additional ability to all. Ymir never came across those things.
There are also a lot of thematic reasons why certain Titan shifters vary so wildly. For instance, Porco's jaw has that armoured look because he was really destined for the Armour and it's a visual acknowledgement of that fact.
what about Falco?
@@trickjokah it's representing the effect of the beast titan spinal fluid specifically how it affects his shifter form. Keep in mind that everyone who gets turned mindless by Zeke is pretty much used as fodder in Marleyan military operations. None of his spinal fluid was used for the transformation of actual shifters. Falco is the only shifter to inherit after being turned by Zeke.
I think that you basically inherit the titan you ate but you can have special abilities based on whose spinal fluid was used on you or if you ingest another titan's spinal fluid later on. Like Falco being a semi-beast semi- jaw titan. Eren getting the hardening skills from possibly a vial of spinal fluid from the armor titan. Maybe there's some science involved and not all of it works but some must.

Afterall it started with Ymir, then her 3 kids and over time has diluted to nine. So change occurs and there are not likely any hard and fast rules when it comes to titan forms.

well the reason that Ymir's looked totally different could be either two things. it could be that only the galliard family has a hardent face and claws, because Ymir isn't a galliard she didn't have hardening on her face and claws, just like only the Yeager family has pointy ears.

I think the training theory is probably the actual intended reason for some of the less impressive transformations such as Ymir's Jaw and Ksaver's Beast. Moreover, take a look at Grisha's Attack Titan and Freida's Founding Titan: one has a middle aged office worker's body and the other one looked like a generic Titan with feminine traits. They are both extremely underwhelming. Police Officer Kruger's Attack Titan was much better than Grisha's, and Eren's was the best version. I think the results of the final transformations are highly depended on the shifter's physicality. Eren is a highly trained acrobatic melee fighter at the peak of his physical condition, so his transformation becomes the best version of the Attack Titan of his era. There is more examples of this. Look at Researcher Ksaver's Beast Titan and Zeke's.
This also explains why Marley only picks a couple of the most physically fit candidates from hundreds to be warriors. Remember all of the warrior candidates also effortlessly graduated into the top 10 of the 104th cadet corps and that includes Reiner who was almost a dropout of the Marley Warrior program. My guess is if a random untrained civilian Eldian accidentally received the shifter power, his/her transformation might not be much different from your average mindless Titans aside from the intelligence and some very muted 9 titans' traits.

You could say that the beast can throw Bertholdt just like he did in s3 at Shiganshina, but that would greatly expose Bertholdt to enemy's defenses.
And lastly, the colossal nuke destroys way too much, Marley wanted to take control of enemy bases rather than simply destroy them
What if Marley had sent these four for spying and gathering Intel and not to actually infiltrate? From Annie's OVA we knew she found that founder is with Eren Yaeger. So that cud be why they stayed back, deviating from their original mission which wasn't supposed to be more than 3-4 days.
1. Plothole: no she inherited the jaw titan, you can even see it in season 2 she gained some kind of claws and sharp teeth (in the flashback she had normal teeth). More reasons: Marcel and Porco are brother thats why they look closer, titans can look WAAAY different (Manga last chapters) and she was not trained so she didnt gain full powers of the jaw titan (so not crystalized teeth and claws)

I think the claws are just hardening and Ymir’s teeth noticeably change from normal to sharp after she acquires the jaw.
Also I think it would be pretty easy to find a reason for why the marleyan government didn’t send more ships back after that one didn’t come back from Paradis:
-Ships regularly come by and transform prisoners into titans. They would have found the wreckage in no time. To add onto that we have to remember that the ship was carrying rebels plotting to restore the eldian empire. They could have assumed that they fought back and somebody was turned into a titan while on the ship. This would have destroyed the ship and could have explained any blood left behind on the docks as the Marleyans would have concluded that the mindless titan just ate all of the survivors and just continued towards the walls.
The shape of the hardening walls can be explained very easily:
-These we’re created by the founding titan. He could have made a couple more titans clean up and smooth the outer layers and erase the memories of anyone who saw it. Or have all of the eldians clean up and smooth out the walls themselves then erase their memory.
-Another explanation is these shapes is simply looking at erens hardened knuckles. He literally makes FLAT hardened panels on his arms and hands and fingers.

1. this one can be easily explained like this: It's been stated multiple times that Marleyans experiment with titan shifters to try and give them different abilities, in fact Annie probably didn't get the hardening on her own, just like Eren. And there's also the training factor.
2. It's probably like they said. They probably got too scared and didn't think about what would happen, plus we've never been told how much it takes for a human to come out of the titan after eating a titan shifter, in fact when Armin ate Bertholdt, we then just cut to a scene where he was out of the titan. Same goes for Eren with his father.
3. This plot hole is completely useless, since they literally stated the possible reason by themselves (creator of the video), which is also quite possible. Marley trusted them after all they'd been through, plus they don't just give out the titan powers to anyone.
4. Same as before (creator of the video removed the possible plot hole, plus not explaining everything doesn't mean It's a plot hole, otherwise they'd need an explanation for every explanation, like "who was the war with, why did it start" etc...), or it could be that she was still under training (Pieck).
5. Mikasa literally said "When you're a queen you can punch that runt for me", plus she even seemed happy when Historia did that.
6. He probably threw it far away from the port, as we've seen that the Attack titan holder has immense strenght, and this one even more than Eren, from I can see. So it was probably so deep into the sea that they didn't find it, tho there probably were some people suspecting that something had happened, especially because of Kruger's disappearance.

8. This one. This one is the one that convinced me into writing this comment. There are 2 possible reasons, or they could also be interlocked. One, is that the king of Paradis simply changed the Eldians' memories into knowing another language, either an already existing one, or one created by the king himself. (plus in the paths he'd have all the time to "develop" the language. Don't count this part very much tho as, I think it sounds stupid, but I still wanted to add it). The second one is that Eldia and Marley were actually separated and already had different languages, before moving into the wall to create the so called "paradise".
9. Why would they need to do a blood test on someone that was gonna be a titan soon enough anyway.
10. They literally stated that the hardening and the walls have the same composition. Same composition doesn't mean same appearance, maybe that's what the Colossal's hardening looks like, or it might be because Ymir helped to create the wall, and therefore made it look like that (also plot device).

I'm assuming the Attack titan wasn't lost before Kruger got it, unless it was already lost, then in that case I suppose the plot hole even exist, tho I can surely say that I've always found it weird.

I think the explanation is, if the titan shifter's wound isn't steaming or visibly regenerating, they can transform into a titan. No Levi even said it in the video. AFTER transforming into a titan if the user is severly damaged he cant transform second time. For example in his last scene Porco was severly damaged and couldn't transform again so he sacrificed himself to Falco

The last plot hole is easily explainable. Titan shifters can chose wether they want to transform or heal. Since eren didn't know he could heal when he was eaten and then gave himself a set goal he transformed instead of healing. 😎

There isn't a general look for the jaw titan, or at least not a specific. It's all about genetics, that's why they don't look the same. Take for an example, all the Yeager titans has pointy ears. Because of genetics

The reason Eren was able to transform in the Titans stomach was because he had not transformed previously. Titan Transformations use up quite a bit of energy, and if they're injured just after exiting their Titan, they aren't able to transform. If a Shifter is majorly injured, but hadn't transformed recently, then they can still turn into a Titan.
That's what you think and not what the writers established. What they established was shown in this video.

@ It was almost unnoticeable truly. Her Pure Titan had normal teeth and regular fingernails. Basically, a very ugly 4m class titan. But after inheriting the Jaw, her teeth changed into fangs and her fingernails grew into claws while still retaining her original form.
It was more like either lazy design or a reason tied to Ymir, after all the titans take on traits of their shifter, similar to how the Yeagers have pointed ears.

The tenth point is just plain wrong. It is clearly stated that the appearance of hardening changes from amount and use. For example, erens and annies hardening is blueish when it is only used on the arms. But when eren uses it to save everyone from rod reiss, it looks greyish more similar to stone. The same is when he seals the hole in wall maria, it looks more similar to the wall. Reiners hardening, which covers his entire body looks more similar to bronze or copper. The warhammers hardening is white or of a grey metallic color. So the more more hardening you use, the weaker it gets and the less it looks like crystal or metal but more like stone. So the walls looking like stone is not a plothole. In season 2 hange even stated the walls structure is very similar to the piece of hardened skin, which chipped of annies arm in her fight with eren.
In regards to your last point. Eren was healing when on the tree branch. When he was in the titans stomach he wasn't healing, it was a fresh wound and so that allowed him to transform

A language won't change over a 100 years, and you can't force a whole population of an empire to learn a different language that may existed before or you just come up with (unless you have the Founding Titan wich Marley have not). Reiner pretending not being able to read it, and Ymir just slipping up and blow her cover makes most sense.

First plothole mistake: Maybe since Ymir was in pure titan form for a very long time she might've not inhertied the power of the jaw. Or it maybe that Ymir didn't know the abilities of the jaw to actually activate them (Jaws and claws).
6th plothole mistake: Maybe Marley already knew about the titan shifter being in paradis maybe thats why they sent the warrior candidates after a hundred years of just staying idle.
7th plothole mistake: Armin was burnt and landed on a 2 story building which is somewhere between 20-30 meters tall. So the total fall would be 20-30 meters. And since Armin was already burnt he didnt have pain receptors or blood circulating which means he would still be alive for 10-15 minutes.
8th plothole mistake: It is possible that the 2 languages (marleys and paradis) differed a bit, or it could be that the language used in marley evolved over the 100 years and the language in paradis evolved over the 100 years in a different way, making the changes quite big.
10th plothole mistake: The titan wall hardening could be different because ymir made those titans for the walls in the first place and it is possible that colossus hardening looks different.
Last plothole mistake: Since the titans were never made a rule book about titans, it is possible that either the attack titan can transform when injured or maybe because it was Erens first transformation. Or maybe the arm cut off wasn't a very big injury to prevent him from transforming.
Most of these plot holes can be explained just by paying closer attention to the anime. So here goes:
1. It's never explicitly stated that every titan shifter looks the same there are multiple examples of this. Lets take the example you gave of armin and bertholt. Did you know that bertholt's colossal titan has ears while armin's doesn't. Thats just one example. Another would be Eren and Grisha's attck titan they look very different. Also if you watch the final episode and look at all the titan shifters of the past none of them look exactly the same. They are molded the way the founder ymir wants them to be. Ymir's titan did already looked similar to the jaws so i get the confusion but things do actually change if you watch closely the shape of her teeth and the sharpness of her nails also change.
2. Reiner and his friends would never have "eaten ymir" as it's never stated that marley had even allowed them to inherit two titan abilities. Their mission was always retrieval. Also when passing down the ability there would be no way to seperate it again so they would have to pass it down that way from then onwards. Even when they discover eren is the attack titan and the founding titan. Their mission remained to retrieve it but never to kill or eat eren.
Annie also explains that they ran away in panick because reiner ran first and even tells reiner they "would of been able to re-capture the jaws if he had remained composed in that situation". This literally explains that they were so shocked they didn't have time to really think it through.
3. You literally explain it yourself but if you want more proof. Magath does have a conversation at one point talking about if they shouldn't send kids for such an important mission. But it's explained that those kids are the best of the best and are trust worthy marley soldiers. Another example is Faze gabi who as we have seen is extremely well trained. So it makes sense why they would trust their warriors and not need a supervisor.
4. Again you explain this plot hole as well. Marley was hated by other nations because they had used the titan shifters to dominate other countries. So putting all their titan shifters on one mission would leave them defenseless from other nations they are fighting. it made sense to not include all shifters on the mission.
5. I agree with the historia punching Levi plot hole im gonna be so honest. I know they technically explain it in the manga but i was still confused watching the anime it was unecessary to remove that scene it would of made so much more sense and its a really quick scene that adds so much more context as to why she punched levi. Watching the anime it makes absolutely no sense as to why mikasa would randomly say "you can punch him" and why she would even want to punch him. It just pisses me off so much as including one really quick scene can fix this. I don't get what they were thinking or just remove the punch all together if your going to remove the context. SO DUMB (It makes me angry because this anime is otherwise perfect). Maybe you can say mikasa was still angry that levi beat up eren but its a STRONG MAYBE.
6. A titan shifter is not the only logical conclusion for why those marley soldiers didn't get back to marley after grisha inherits the attack titan. Marley may have assumed that it was pure titans and not a shifter as pure titans are easily strong enough to wipe out a marley ship or two. It also makes much more sense since pure titans were also mentioned as a big reason as to why marley hadn't invaded paradis sooner.
7. In terms of armin falling 164 feet and being burned alive. He technically didn't survive the fall he was definitely on his way to dying just not instantly and people have survived falls higher than 164 feet. Also not eveyone dies instantaneously from a fall. People who even have had their heads cut off have a few seconds before they actually die. Which is the point here he was dying, he didn't survive the burning or the fall. Its only because of the colossal titan that he even survived at all. But i will admit he was one of the main charecters so obviously the entire cast has plot armour. If this was real they would all probably be dead within the first mission because main charecters don't exist in real life. War is war and people die at random.
8. Marley was colonised by Eldia in the past they were not always the same people. If you look at countries that have been colonised no matter how brutal they find ways to retain their culture. It makes perfect sense for marley and eldians to have two different languages. This is probably the most ridiculous "plot hole" you thought you found.
9. Why would they do a blood test on people they don't care about at all and are going to kill. It would be a pointless waste of resources as they caught them red handed already. If you watch the scene when they torture them they only really care about "the owl" which the eldians didn't know who it was. Also the eldians knew if marley had a eldian with royal blood then eldians would be much more worse off then they already are. Also if they were hypothetically to do a blood test im sure "the owl" would step in to fake the results as he was a spy who did not want marley to have an eldian with royal blood.
10. They literally explain how the walls were built when hange analyses eren's hardening to the walls hardening and found out they were the same. Titans who use hardening can change the structure at will while still being comprised of the same material. Hange explains this already.
11. In the clip you just showed of levi explaining why titans can't transform while healing he literally says, as in within the first 2 seconds "after transforming". This only applies after a titan shifter has already transformed. ITS LITERALLY IN THE CLIP YOU SHOWED. oh god, just pay attention. So when eren got swallowed by the titan this was before he transformed so he didn't have to wait till his arm healed. "If you had bothered" to watch the clip YOU used as evidence then this video would not still be uploaded.

7:30 it doesn't works that way. The healing over transformation factor only works if the shifter wants to trigger healing. Once they start healing then they can't transform. But let alone starting to heal he didn't had any clue that humans can transform to titans. He just simply triggered his will by his desperation to kill titans from insane hatred which triggererd his transformation.

Aot was never a straight up shonen story. It has always been a deep dark story which doesn't have a single meaning. Even people who read the entire manga discover and get a new angle when they revisite the story. If anything anyone can actually complaint about attack on Titan that is it's very very very much underexplained by the author. But even that is intentional. So what may seem a plothole is actually a segment which had different causes and consequences which weren't shown onscreen and left for the audience to think and realize. So if one does not understand why a and how an incident in aot is making sense then they are not thoughtful enough or they just misunderstood aot about being an anime for entertainment. It was never meant to entertain or be a story which will give some life lessons to the audience. Attack on Titan is simply a reflection of our Actual world. That's it. If someone wants to find greatness or holes in this story. It's just their personal problem. One who understands true meaning of this series doesn't cares if it's ranked lowest or highest. Because none of those makes any sense to them!
It's like if someone sees paper getting burned , they just won't make plot holes out of how fire isn't red enough there or how the paper isn't large enough. 1: A titan form is based on each person, who they were when they were alive. And the form of the power of a titan shifter it doesn´t have to be exactly the same, berthold and Armin had more differences in comparison with Marcel and Galliard´s titans; why? Simple, they were brothers. So when they became the exact the titan shifter the difference was minimal. Just look at Falco, totally different. Ymir on the other hand didn´t change much except for her teeth, and here´s why: "I will never lie to myself again. I´ll live being true to who I am" So her titan desing was left practically the same as a metaphore.
2: You are right, just within like 2/3 minutes Ymir should have become again a human... sadly they run away in fear at the first 5 seconds. And also, important... is metioned by Annie: "Let´s go back. Let´s find the Jaw and go back, since it should have became a human again" And then Reiner insisted on going with the mission and the also metioned that is a bad idea to go for the jaw since they should have the advatage there if they transform. Berthold said that that wasn´t possible, for them to learn it that quick... and then Reiner said in response that in Berthold case he could managed the titan right away. And yes, everyone mental states played a part in it... also the beating between Annie and Reiner.
3: Well... you are answering yourself. "Come on, they are titan shifters that destroyed a whole Nation before. We gave the equipment. They are warriors first and foremost. and is just a couple of days walking."
4: Marley was at war with some nations at the time, and there are MANY factors that could happend or not to make said decision... but also: Yes, the cart would have been the best... for leading them there, the simplest thing that Maleyans cared the less about. And then what? Colosal and Armor to break through, Female to lead the titans, and Marcel as the Jaw titan because with was seen the best LIDER model for the mission, and also not the second, but the fastest. Once in the wall the Cart wouldn´t have been a good choice, neither bad. 2:13 Also... NO. reiner said after running away: "They said there wouldn´t be any titans this far from the wall"
5: ... really... It´s not a plothole, it´s a CHANGE. Is Mikasa the one who said to Historia to smack him. The only thing that you could argue about that is the reason behind Mikasa saying that to Historia... which is actually still there, just not that imponent and savage as the manga version.
6: "Hey, it seems that we lost contact with the ship that had some criminals in them, let´s see what happend" First, the ship was completely destroyed and spread in the ocean. Maybe they could have got there and...dive to search for the rests? Well, we need to take on account the tecnology at the time, and the deepness of that part of the ocean... also, floating wood for weeks that could have gotten away already. Now, let´s say that there was indeed diving tecnology and that the ship was more intact than I assume, and that someone after seeing a peaceful dock the first time decied to go back to Marley to go back again with a whole diving equipment just in case. "Oh, a broken ship and some dead bodies... did they had a problem/accident with the titans they transform at the time? Nah, I´m sure that is that one of the Marleyans on the ship was actually not only an Eldian but also the owner of the only Titan shifter that went lost 80 years ago" Not likely, none of it. Not impossible either... but come on, is not a plothole.
7: Ok, on this one I don´t have much to say, since I´m not a doctor. Are you? I´ll put a pin on this one... but I think that is not impossible. Also, one thing I know, being burn to a crisp doesn´t incrise fall damage, if you can survive either of one, is not imposible to survive both, that happended at the same time, and it´s not he would have survive for more than 10 minutes.
8: Nice one!... But hear me out, on the first episode of season two Zeke says "I was pretty sure we spoke the same language... maybe you are just too afraid to talk." So it is obvious that they speak the same language. Then, one thing that you maybe didn´t undertood is that a language and an Alphabet is not the same and that Maley and Eldia existed for more than 2 millenia. Also, we should need to watch about Shingeki no Kyojin Alphabet to really understand the deepness of this, because just so you know, all the letters on the show are actually made up for that sake. And even after that, I have another BIG reason... herring is a SEA fish. Is a totally new word for those withing the wall: another reason why Reiner was shocked and ask: "I´m surprise you can read this. It does says Herring in it? I´m surprise you can read this "characters"" And yes, I said character instead of letter because on this "plothole" you forgot a TOTALLY important thing: Shingeki no Kyojin language and Alphabet are Japanese/Asian based.
9: Ok, sorry but this is a really stupid one... if you already know someone is an Eldian you don´t waste resources on cheking their blood. Also, nothing proves you that they are able know if someone is royal or not, at least at the time. Not that they would ever think of that to begin with.
10: AGAIN. YOU SAID IT YOURSELF. For f´s sake. Also, it was made by the power of the founding titan in all of his glory, he could obviously change the color of it. Even hange said their structure were simmilar, but not the same as Annie cristal.
11: NICE TRY But you lose again. Hear me out. "While your bodies are HEALING you cannot transform" Aaaaand: "You need to cause an injury along with a goal in mind to transform" There is a factor existing in this Universe called TIME. Eren didn´t start to heal, instead filled with saddnes, incredibility and RAGE, he transform. Also, what another comment said more elocuently than me on this video (made bye "Vs3098"): "Your last plot hole was wrong. It is clearly written on the site that:
"The ability to transform into a Titan could be hindered by injuries inflicted on the human body. A human could transform into a Titan with injuries as severe as a missing limb, but only if a previous transformation had not occurred recently. If a human emerged from their Titan form and received a severe injury, this person was not able to transform into a Titan again until said injuries healed.""

With the titan hardening, its made by the founder and Zeke said she could make anything, so with her power scale she could make it different than the 9 titans. Also the cart titan did go with Reiner and Berhotldt at some point, I remember her hiding out in the anime in season 4. I also think Galliard's Jaw titan's ability reflected the human's compatibility with the titan and obviously the training they undergo in preparation for that power. Also the 9th plot hole really isnt one considering the marleyan made the decision not to test Dinah. I do feel with Eren if we ignore the fact that when eaten he still could've transformed due to being injured before using his power, he would stick be able to transform eventually if his titan healing factor is working faster than the stomach acid could dissolve his skin. Also he could've adapted to the environment which made his healing more effective thus leading to transformation.

6:49 well actually titan hardening doesn't have to be crystal, just look at the armor titan, and the armor on the armor titan is in fact titan hardening because when Eren started the rumbling he said that he undid all the titan hardening, and the armor titan's armor started to crumble alongside the walls and Annie's crystal cocoon

0:21 this one’s a little explainable. Why it doesn’t look as intense as some of the other jaws is that Marcel and Porco are Marlian warriors. They were picked from a crop of eldian candidates and were deemed the best. They do this in an attempt to draw out the most strength from one of the 9 as possible. Ymiru, on the other hand, is essentially a nobody picked from the streets. She probably doesn’t have the physical prowess equal to the tested and selected marlian warriors. This is probably why she looks so lack luster and she’s hardly a powerful jaw. Something quoted by Mikasa after witnessing porcos. Now, why it didn’t change at all? Maybe as a plot device. Season 2 was about the mystery behind where titans come from and how they function. I can see, especially since the story telling is shown through images rather than text, that isayama chose to keep their titans identical in appearance to plant the question. Especially since this came after ragako and before the reveal of the armored and colossal.

There's speculation that the reason is that the Jaw Titan is exclusively for males meaning it didn't develop properly because a female ate it. There's no evidence whatsoever and this is a wild guess, but it could make sense.
So for the last one might be because the rule of regenerating only counts after you turn into a titan. Or the wounds have to be closed by the regenerations for the transformation not to take place. For why wound can take place as long as the shifter bleeds so they can transform. Like how jaws titan bit off eren’s legs in the beginning he still transformed because either one the wound was still fresh and open or 2 this rule only applies when a shifter already transformed. Eren’s wound was probably open in the titan stomach and the healing factor isn’t always active like during one of eren’s test in season 1
For the armin surviving plot while the burnt fucked him up the bones might of been strong enough to survive the impact as well as the fall.

When eren got swallowed he didn’t become a titan prior to that event therefore he could transform, I swear these “plotholes” are just proof you didn’t pay attention in the show.

both the Falco and Marcel were Eldians not Marleyans. non-Eldian races cannot transfer into Titans even after they consume any spinal fluid, not even just Zeke's. Ymir didn't have the jaw structure that the Jaw Titans had. the explanation for Falco's bird-shaped Titan is Zeke's Beast Titan genes.
second statement doesn't contradict anything. if both nations spoke different languages, the Marleyans and the people of Paradis should not have been able to communicate throughout the series. an explanation for this could be that both nations spoke the same language but used different writing techniques.
third statement can be true. Ymir can technically create whatever she wants but it doesn't make sense to depict that it is the same material as the Titan shifters' crystal

first part of this statement isn't even true. you cannot turn into a Titan after being wounded, but your healing ability continues after turning into a Titan and transforming back to your human form. if this were not the case, Eren and Ymir would not have been able to heal when they were kidnapped. plus Eren didn't have the endurance to transform after getting injured in season one. hence thats why he couldn't transform when Reiner and Bertold kidnapped him. even Reiner needed some rest before transforming into Armored Titan because otherwise his titan wouldn't last long enough for their escape

Their knowledge of titan shifters is better than eldians referenced by the liquid they feed their Warriors which give them the titan hardening ability. Since Ymir was a pure titan before eating Marcel, she didnt get any enhancements from Marley so her jaw titan is the natural base form while Marcel and Porco’s are enhanced which is why they look different. This is what i meant by they were Marleyans.

Biggest plot hole that bothers me is Annie’s hardening crystal was indestructible, but during the Levi Squad V. Kenny Squad fight in the crystal caves, both groups can shoot their 3DMG hooks into the crystal walls and Kenny’s gun literally blew a crater in one of the walls. How is Annie’s crystal harder than the founders crystal and why didn’t they use the same guns they gave Kenny to shatter Annie’s crystal?

I think annie was relentlessly replenishing the hardening around her. Whereas there was no one in the crystal caves to replenish the crystals to regenerate or not take any damage at all. Remember the time when Annie get out of the crystal? She was so tired. Also, we can say the same thing for the walls. But I think the reason why they dont "regenerate" is because the titans inside the are asleep.
I believe that the crystal from the crystal caves are the minerals Marley wants which are not same as the Annie's crystals.

When he vanished, I know he could've instantly sublimated his whole body, but from this, eren should have got some burn marks, or any kind of injury cuz it's nearly impossible for a human to withstand too much air pressure. THIS is an ACTUAL plot hole. None of the other things are lol. Maybe bert gradually disintegrates his body to the ground and then runs while the smoke is still up? NO cuz erens hooks were still in. It had to be instant, so Bert would HAVE TO FALL and then run into the hole in the wall and hide. But no way he could do that without being spotted becuz there were soldiers on both sides of the wall... PLOT HOLE
The colossal titan has full control of his body, meaning he can control how fast his body disintegrates

@@continentdude12 yeah its a plot hole, but to be honest it doesnt really matter, if the colossal's corpse was left there, rather than actually changing anything it would just bear more confusion and give us more clue on to what titan shifters are, and how armin and erwin came to their conclusions about titan shifters.
This is the only actual plot hole in AoT if you ask me. Otherwise the show is just perfect
There's a way to counter the last plothole. In season one, we learnt that titan shifters can stop the healing of one body part to speed the healing process of another when the female titan did it. So maybe the titan shofter can do that in their human forms aswell
