hey dude, ur car sounds great. i just wanted to say i managed to get a sound very similar to yours with just as many backfires/gurgles but im using an invidia q300 - 3 inch turbo back exhaust with a 100 cel highflow cat on an apr stage 2 tune. The thing sounds insane. keep up the great videos
Sounds good man. I have a mk5 full three inch catless magnaflow catback and I get back fires like you do. My car is a lot louder then your car do to the 3inch 42 draft car back and having no cats. If you have a catless three downpipe with a three inch catback it does make a difference. Catless does at 5 to 10hp with a tune
I have a mk5 Wolfie jetta with a straight pipe (Muffler Delete) and most people tell me they love how it sounds. Some even say it sounds better than a GTI a friend has lol
Where can I order all the stuff? I have a 2005 Passat wagon 5 speed with the 4 motion. I’m trying to get as close to 300hp as I can. But I can’t find where to order stuff. I don’t know much about it actually. Never had a turbo car before this one. I wanna get a good amount of horsepower out of this 1.8t until I finish my 2.0 swap. I’m gonna build it from the ground up. Can you please help me?
I would have to disagree, adding a properly sized exhaust will most assuredly add hp as you increase the volumetric flow capacity. It's been dyno proven many times
+Bobby Falkenstein would love to see the dyno charts from an independent person's car before/after cat-back showing your theory. I've done my research. These cars flow perfectly fine once the downpipe is upgraded. In fact, 2.5" downpipe with a hi-flo cat will actually feel MORE powerful than 3" piping with no cat because the backpressure spools the turbo faster, meaning peak boost earlier in the rev range
www.awe-tuning.com/awe-mk5exhaust there's clear cut proof that both 3"and 2.5" provide gains of some sort and at different rpm's throughout the range. I'd be curious to see the plots proving that the different diameter systems change the boost levels as this would for sure throw a code in the ecu for an underboost condition
IgnitionTube i would first like to say I'm no vw expert but have owned Evos, subaru sti's some big power ones to, I'm sorry but the last thing you want on a turbo car is exhaust back pressure, remove the cat get the rest of the exhaust 2.5" to match your down pipe and a remap you will gain power and torque.
EngineeringExplained explained in one of his videos why exhaust back pressure is essential to producing power. Maybe all of you that commented should watch that video and see if it changes your mind. No hate, just saying...
That's a nice gti you got bro nice vid just wanted to know how long you had your golf and how reliable it's been for you I'm looking into a mk7 but worried about reliability any info is helpful again good vid nice car.
?? Did anybody ask you if a exhaust from eBay is good or bad? What you think of that? And would you put the eBay exhaust if you want it to try it out??
So I have a question. I have a mk6 gti that has a full turbo back exhaust with no cats and a cold air intake. my car is on the stock tune. It's been running weird after I got the downpipe. Idles weird and I feel a loss of power. Is this because I'm not on a stage 2 tune?
i have the 2016 gli tsi 2.ot i want my exhaust to sound like yours. right now i have deleted the muffler and resonator but still have stock cats. any help would be great
Joey Abraham it shouldn't just dont take cats off or tune . removing muffler and resonator wont void the warrant. my car is brand new i took it from the dealer to muffler shop. lol
berto371rr thanks bro the warranty has been only thing that's been holding me back with getting the exhaust out of full stock mode, and I read that you can put it back on too
Boardslide270 that's whp not bhp, so account for drivetrain loss. 230 whp is about right. every tune is different but "Stage 2" ecu tuning usually isn't much, if any, different than Stage 1. the stage 2 is for downpipes with no cat or high flow so you dont throw a cel.
Zwilkins8 how do you get the DSG farts? I have a Mk5 GLI Fahrenheit haven't done much yet to it but a res delete. Maybe I can't hear it from inside the car
Those crackles are OMG good.. damn. You can hear it in the distance 👍
@1:45 you’re welcome
Been waiting on this video for awhile man she sounds so good
Mackenzie Yarbough 👀
Jester25ft we've got something special coming to the channel real soon
Mackenzie Yarbough I'll
Be on the look out bro!
My mk4 gti is stock down pipe and cat back 2.5inch straight pipe sounds just like yours. With those pops and everything.
Ive got a MK4 GTi with a 3" down to full 2.5" magnaflow
i get very similar exhaust notes sounds great
And it backfires
0:05 "Well, basically, my exhaust setup is Rice Krispies..."
i got the same setup and i can confirm it pops and bangs a lot near startup
i just deleted the 2 resonators and the middle section i put a circle magnaflow muffler and a straight Y pipe out the back with stock tips
If anyone knows who GtiMan67 is on youtube, you will know how good his exhaust sounds. Its musical!

I have stock muffler amd 3inch catless dp, my car does backfire but not nearly as much as yours, its gotta be that fuel pump
I will probably do the same, I don't like very loud pipe noise I preffer very loud Turbo noise. So Hight Flow Cat and Resonator Delete.
Can anybody write down his whole exhaust set up?
are any of the exhaust mods legal in california? we have strict exhaust laws here and if it doesn't pass you can't register your car.
Random question but why Isn't your front seat the same plaid as the rear seats? I have the 08 2 door with leather I was just curious lol
I have a 08 2-door with all plaid...first car and I love it :)
Thinking of getting one this year
I have a mk5 Wolfie jetta with a straight pipe (Muffler Delete) and most people tell me they love how it sounds. Some even say it sounds better than a GTI a friend has lol
Done this to mines, dronea like hell
Hey Eli, real quick when you meant stock catback, did you also mean the stock suitcase muffler in the rear?

Hey mate can you replay me the exact setup you running for exhaust sounds perfect to me pls
Would you be opposed to buying a used downpipe? Would I be asking for trouble?
Mk6 Gti
Will a awe tuning exhaust with a factory downpipe and not an awe downpipe still sound similar?
really like how it sound's.
00:13 when that chipotle goes right through you
Thanks for watching! Don't forget about IgnitionTube snapbacks, shirts, and stickers! Make sure to check out www.squareup.com/store/ignitiontube!
IgnitionTube i have a 2016 jetta Tsi 1.8 sport i wanna know what should i do to make it sound louder? & what exhaust system do you recommend???????
Give us a video of what you have please, I want to do the same thing and I'm not sure what your talking about
So you can still pass a smog with your set up though yeah!?
what would it do if i did muffler and cat delete?
3Ddee loud but check engine light would come on and depending on your country it may fail your car inspection due to higher emissions
Can I get that sound on a audi a3 2.0 tdi dsg sportback
after we delete the resonator we wont get an exhaust fume ?
It sounds so nice!
What would you recommend to start building up my 2013 VW cc sport 2.0T?
Exactly what I asked for, I absolutely loved it. Keep it up!! ❤
been trying to get my a3 to backfire like that. Res delete coming soon
That's a nice gti you got bro nice vid just wanted to know how long you had your golf and how reliable it's been for you I'm looking into a mk7 but worried about reliability any info is helpful again good vid nice car.
Hey man, maybe too late but I suggest you get a 2.0 liter one, not the 1.4!
What did you do to increase the hissing noise of the turbo?
?? Did anybody ask you if a exhaust from eBay is good or bad? What you think of that? And would you put the eBay exhaust if you want it to try it out??
Do you not have a diverter or blow off valve.....
sounds so nice!
What wheels are on the car?
does it make ur top speed slower ???? remove the resonator
Yeah it's the resonator delete causing the backfire
How much did you lower your car, and with what?
How many inch is the stock exhaust?
So I have a question. I have a mk6 gti that has a full turbo back exhaust with no cats and a cold air intake. my car is on the stock tune. It's been running weird after I got the downpipe. Idles weird and I feel a loss of power. Is this because I'm not on a stage 2 tune?
mbondarchuk17
Hi chk your spark plugs or pcv these r most common reason but scan it first
Sebastian Bialek thank you will check my spark plugs and could you explain to me what a pcv is?
Sebastian Bialek thank you will check my spark plugs and could you explain to me what a pcv is?
I've actually scanned the car already. only code that shows was for not having a catalytic converter
wrong abt "as good as a four cyl can sound" Subarus are 4 cyls. Cant beat that haha
meh ;)
Project Wrx yea you can... subies are over rated
I love the way my speed sounds!
+ChiTown agree. my stage 3 20th is a Subbie eater. Js.
except with his 2.0l with a stage 1 tune can dust a subie with stage 2 tune on a 40 roll smh
Will this setup work for a mk6 Jetta 1.8T?
sounds so good
my car is straight piped and sounds like a damn tractor at low rpm but the backfires are too fun do get rid of
TheJack387 same 💯💯
i have the 2016 gli tsi 2.ot i want my exhaust to sound like yours. right now i have deleted the muffler and resonator but still have stock cats. any help would be great
berto371rr when u deleted the muffler res did it spit any codes out? Like will it pass inspection?
Joey Abraham no codes it should pass fine. plus i think first 3 or 5 years they just check saftey not emissions when doing inspections.
berto371rr thanks dude I have 2015 jetta tsi, so it won't spit codes but I also have premium warranty for 50k miles will this void my warranty?
Joey Abraham it shouldn't just dont take cats off or tune . removing muffler and resonator wont void the warrant. my car is brand new i took it from the dealer to muffler shop. lol
berto371rr thanks bro the warranty has been only thing that's been holding me back with getting the exhaust out of full stock mode, and I read that you can put it back on too
hey just interested, does your GTI have the FSI or TSI engine? Is the 2009 GTI the only MK5 GTI with the TSI?
Probably late but yes, the 2009 gti is the only mk5 with the TSI. Actually, the 2008.5 I believe has a TSI motor. His is a FSI
Does the stock turbo on a gti mk5 have enough lbs to push a blowout valve?
Stock is about 14 psi, so yes
Is there hope for a big turbo in the near future? Sounds perfect btw.
what dose he mean when he says his car drones a little ?
The exhaust is loud at a continuous RPM, making a "DRRRRRR" constant droning noise on the inside when driving on the highway
+IgnitionTube thanks for the info, i hear this a lot when looking into different ways to make my gti loud
stage 2 and only 230?
Boardslide270 life sucks
it's on a mustang Dyno which are known to show smaller horsepower/torque numbers then the car is actually producing
I have a stage 2 golf gti on 99ron tune and it makes 285 whp thats why i was questioning it, my stage 1 was 245whp
Boardslide270 you dynoed it I presume? for sure, then I question it as well. Must be the tune or something 🤔
Do you need a cat delete for a crackle tune?
Yes, its recommended
@@ryanvanwinkle5702 what will happen if I get one with a high flow cat
Stock turbo??
Time for k04 already bro..
Help me with my set I have a 2011 VW golf tdi
You just cant get good sound from a TDI..... Go Buy a petrol car...
U can get a Sound Generator
Like The golf 7 Gtd
ItsB3ngbrossss what's the link so I can see a price rage.
+todd jenkins i only know the price in Euro and that is around 800-900
you don't have a upgraded clutch???
+DZ Gti nope, Mk5 life :)
No check engine light?
Agustin Cortes its a resonator.... so no.
Billy boat sport turbo back has to be one of the best exhausts for a MKV check it out on my channel
Them pops tho
cold start you are a tractor tho hahaha,I have the same setup but Godspeed downpipe no cat
Nice vid you cute dork 🤓
Crackle crackle crackle 😁
If I wanted my Mk5 gti to sound like a tin can filled with pebbles, yeah i would go this way.
Also it would sound much better if it was DSG.
Andre lol get those farts
My gti does sound like a tractor
But I don’t want my car to sound like a tractor...
I love ma DSG farts
Zwilkins8 how do you get the DSG farts? I have a Mk5 GLI Fahrenheit haven't done much yet to it but a res delete. Maybe I can't hear it from inside the car
What wheels are these ?
