Ooh the Empire Trilogy is a personal fav. That collab was a special brand of writing magic. There is a spoiler somewhere in it for something that happens in Magician: Master. But if delaying reading it keeps you from reading it soon, just dive in asap. I also love both Powder Mage, Dandelion Dynasty, and Empire of the Wolf! I've made it a goal to restart Dragonbone Chair to be in sync with the Broken Binding releases. I have to justify those purchases haha.

Thank you for turning me onto Andy Peloquin I've purchased the Dragonblood Assassin series. I'm currently reading Wraith by John Gwynne. When I finish it I'm going to start the Lot Lands trilogy by Jonathan French a grimdark series about half-man/half-orc beings. Next will be the Raven's Mark trilogy by Ed McDonald and then the Manifest Delusions trilogy by Michael R. Fletcher. I'm really looking forward to all of them, so much fun. I suppose my recommendation for you that i haven't seen others mention would be Daniel Abraham's Long Price Quartet.
A four book series in an East Asian inspired setting that spans multiple decades, like, our protagonists are in their late teens / early twenties in Book 1 and in their 60s by Book 4 and the affects the actions of these two men will have on the world around them. Each book has its own self-contained plot and kinda plays up the genre a little:
Book 1 - Coming of Age
    Book 2 - Mystery, etc
Unless you absolutely dislike Book One, I recommend at least getting as far as trying Book 2. Its a Top 10 Fantasy Series of all-time for me. Like, it would ranked as 6th favourite or somewhere around there. If it was just completed series then its considerably higher.

All sound like or are good series - having read three out of the nine: Firstly, the first book of the Library Trilogy which was simply something else. Secondly, three quarters of Dandelion Dynasty, which is very good but somehow just leaves me feeling fairly cold and distant. And thirdly, the entire Second Apocalypse, with several good or really good books and two excellent ones - Judging Eye and especially White Luck Warrior - but unfortunately I really disliked the last one... Still recommend it.
Also, I have read Powder Mage, which I liked a lot. Have also read the continuation, i.e. Gods of Blood and Powder, which I found to be very enjoyable.

@@SpacedOutReads There is so much out there that it isn't really a big surprise that you forget something. One of the best aspects of BookTube really is that you can get those clues and reminders, and this concerns especially the lesser known gems in the world of books. By the way, thanks to you, I have decided to read The Empire of the Vampire, and just ordered it from the library. Hopefully, it is as good as you say it is - I believe that the title has so far kept me far away from the book 😁.

I did not enjoy The Black Company. The prose was poor, the characters were poorly described, the plot was confusing because of the poor writing. To each his own, I guess.
