26.06 - I've watched this multiple times, and the best bit is here, with three girls mates hugging eachother, bang in the middle of the dancefloor, doubtless rushing on the euphoric wave of love we all enjoyed during those days, oblivious to the club and to what others think - whilst the rest of the ravers just go about their own thing. This sums it all up for me, as a raver in the early 90s. I never managed to get to Shelly's, but I had ALL the tapes, and had mates that went religiously. This entire video could have been shot in my local club, given the fashions, obvious excitment to get in and rave, and the music. BEST DAYS EVER.
The first rave I ever went to was in some abandoned building in 1990 in Montreal. There were so many kids there, we danced all night just like this! Those memories are still so vivid in my mind I love it! I was so cool in my Benetton shirt and my baby blue faux fur jacket, we were all cool! So much fun!
These were the proper days of raving no one gave a shit all happy smiley no attitude no bullshit no zombies looking at there phones all night people actually smiling at each other and shaking hands how it should be !!!!! Peace love no attitude and unity once a raver always a raver miss these days sooooo much xxxx
The sad part is that there HAS NOT BEEN and there will NEVER EVER be ANYTHING quite like this again. I am grateful to have been a part of it. At least back then people fucking smiled at each other in a club :)
Michael A I would imagine yes that any such movement must have been equally as exciting. I think each new decade had it's 'thing' from the 20's right up to the 90's. Swinging 60's, disco fever, etc, etc. I am not sure how it will play out in the future or what new generations will look back to for inspiration. Especially when we get to the new 50's and 60's etc as in 2050's and 2060's. Have you given that much thought, how music and fashion takes inspiration from the past.
After watching this, if I have one regret from 89 - 93 when I was raving, it's that I didn't make it over to this club. At a time when House had fragmented into D&B and Jungle at most raves, this places appears to have stayed true to sexy, danceable, uplifting House....totally awesome vid with some great looking characters who I would have loved to meet and dance with ...back in the day...
Proper clothing! The kids today think it's fashion to wear baggy jeans and loose fit hoodies, they think they are wearing something radical, new, it was just standard clobber for us!
Watching this has put a big-ass smile on my face! :o) Ah deary me, the fashion, the music, the smiles and happiness, the drugs, what a period of time this was for thousands of people up and down the country every weekend. Watching the people getting into the club reminds me of that excitement you felt as you could just hear the music - knowing that in the next couple of minutes (after being, ahem "searched"....) you were going to be grooving your ass off and coming up on a pill. Wicked times, thanks for the upload!!!!!! :o) :o) :o)
yes always an exciting but anxious time in the queue, but once you were in we couldn't stop dancing. I'm very impressed at the high level of dancing in this club, people really expressing themselves. It's unbelievably over 23 years since this golden age of dance and today's youth have had completely nothing to compare with this since, perhaps they never will.
samgub I'm in highschool & whenever im at a party (i only go to ones with techno music playing.) even though it may not be as good as this music its usually deep house or dubstep which i can stand. & everyone is dancing most of the time. don't gget me wrong, 1992 is probably my favorite year of electronic music.!
Seb Whatever Sorry fella the clubbing scene these days isn't a patch on what it was like in the early 90's. It just isn't. All these older heads are doing is trying to recreate what it was like back then. But it never will be. Not with the mentality this generation has. It's like people trying to recreate the 1960's. You could have everyone wearing the same clothes listening to the same music and even taking the same drugs. But it would never be the same and it would never be as good.
Wow,it takes me back, the excrement of getting in,taking doves, and dancing all night happy times the best memories we will ever have of our youth, today's kids need to watch this, what your doing now we was doing 28 yrs ago, every weekend, exited all week for the weekend to goin out getting off ya tits and buzzing all night, comedowns were harsh and a new experience the day after, just watching gave me chills, afterwards goin back to someone's empty house, hot knives on,cups of tea joints and tunes, more e,ha amazing times my freind👊😀😀
@MakeorBreak, haha, I thought that as well. I was watching a tv drama the other day about youngsters in the 1980s, every single person's mouth was constantly bumping up and down chewing gum. I was out clubbing in the 80s and 90s and don't really remember it, but I guess it was just because we did it all the time and thought nothing of it...but it looks daft.
people barely move now in clubs. I remember the sweat dripping off the ceiling at 5am on a Sunday morning. people sitting on the stage rolling spliffs and sharing with anyone that wanted to join them it didn't matter if they were strangers everyone was welcome
Innit. If you watch any of those vids on boiler room or the like....most people are either on their phone, recording the night on their phone or talking. No fuckers are even remotely ravings. Feel sorry for DJs today playing to that. We had it good in the 90's.
This has to be one of the best videos of an early 90s rave I've yet seen surface. The camera was kept rolling for the entire set. Half decent image quality for the period: even an ambient sound track that is not offensive. The entire crowd is there to DANCE, and they DID NOT SHOW OFF AT THE CAMERA. Everyone dancing looks COOL because they are making an effort. Good solid house! Just a great bunch of ordinary people out to catch the feeling. No one obviously drunk, bumping into people. No guys giving women a hard time (at least on camera) Nothing being thrown, no obvious agro. Just a beautiful time had by all. If shit went down for anyone after this party I am truely sorry. But for most of the heads… if you were there… deepest respect! You lived the dream.
This was myself back in the day. Nothing but feeling the music! Not proud of it now but the amount of pills I’d dropped over the years was ridiculous.. Yet it never turned me nasty or out of control into fighting like it does with alcohol. By the morning you wouldn’t have that god awful hang over either! If anything you’d want to be back in that club! These were the best years of my life by far. Today’s generation I actually feel sorry for as they’ll never get this kind of euphoria again. To busy on their phones now days or to stuck up their own arse to enjoy themselves.
I feel so lucky to have been there that night, the video does capture something of the vib and spirit of shellys, thank you to everyone who made it what it was.
I have goosebumps watching this! When it really was all about the music, no judgement, no agro, just people coming together on a weekend to dance and have a great time, what I’d give for one more night like this, proud to have been part of this era! 🤪
I am so lucky to have been a part of this incredible time, no trouble whatsoever, just nice happy people who went out with the intention of dancing for 8hrs straight 😂 great music, no mobile phones, no egos. This will never happen like this ever again sadly
Having grown up raving in the mid 2000s to mid 2010s, i agree. It was definitely a small group of people then, then big shows were few and far between, and it has only dwindled. Music is pretty bad rn as well. Covid really prevented the handing off of the torch. Is a shame.
I was not in the UK in 1992 but how I wish I had been! Shelley's looks like a total blast. Seeing everyone dancing like crazy, smiling and being legends during the tune from 3:45 looks totally fantastic. At least we have this record - thank you whoever had the foresight in 1992 to film this
Break of Dawn @7:30 always took me to a new level, we all had our single journeys that night but had a collective journey when as one. God bless ❤ Doves
Fooking brilliant , went there about a dozen times, I am am a wigan pier lad myself. 44 now, but watching this video , brought Back the adrenaline rushes and jaw ache. Great days,

I live in NYC now and all everyone does is dress up, stand around and try their hardest to be cool. Music doesn't matter especially seeing the guy who's been voted best DJ for the past 10 years or so plays top 40.
This reminds me of how over the years we have lost connection with each other through the music and feeling bliss of consciousness when people cared about the whole experience..if I ever have a rave again NO PHONES ALLOWED NOT ONE! This set is AMAZING That night was on FIRE FOR REAL😎🎶🎧🔥🔥🔥
@@crystaldawn8875 Just Imagine coming back the places would get overcrowd quickly and not to mention bumping in to younger self.Simply we just need to live with time and it's up to old shoolers to bring scene back with some cannabis,MDM,Lsd behind the counter and everything become legal from rave parties and consumables and yes no phones allowed!
Another 30 years from now people will say the same about our era and wish to go back to what we have now , Enjoy it while you can past , present future but I agree these days seems somewhat less stress free.
Brilliant upload.....god I miss those days,,, everybody just loved up hugging everyone, breaks my heart those days are over...peace and love to everyone in this video
Oh the excitement, standing in the queue, hearing the PA sound check that familiar Alison Limerick bassline warming up the speakers knowing that tonight is here and we're almost IN!! Chattin shit to the crew infront of you as you come up on the phet, all of you buzzin as you know what's in store, you all know the score..It's gonna be another mad one God I miss Shelleys

Amazing how even some of the coolest guys you’d never expect were out there dancing and taking it all in! I was so into this video, the vibes pull you right in I love it!
Damn I wish I was a liitle bit older. Love the music from these early 90s raves. Earliest I managed to experience was 1999. Same attitude I found. Nobody cared what they were wearing, no camera phones. Just good times. Happy people with no worries. 👍🏼 Miss these events.

No social media, no internet for that matter. No mobile phones for the masses - just the foot long Motorola International 3200 and Nokia 1011 for yuppies in London. All was arranged by word of mouth and telephone boxes.
Wish it was still like this!!, Now a days fools just stand there and look bugged out on bath salts.. You can see the energy and feel it just watching this vid! love the old skool scene!!
I was glad to be part of this scene, best years of my life... Some nights I'd go out alone when all my mates were working or couldn't make it, spend the night with people I never even knew!!! Now it's all skinny jeans and Quiffs and judgmental pretentious pricks.
Same here mate! Plenty of times I'd be on a late shift 2 til 10 and I'd just get a taxi to stoke not knowing where in the country I'd end up later and no clue how I'd get back on a Sunday night
I envy the fact that my parents got to experience this - I’m 20 years old and I’ve heard all the stories, I’m glad I got a glimpse of my parents youth in this video.
I believe this did cause depression, because whatever you did in life after the scene, we know these were the best years of our lifes and we just can’t go back. Thought it was gonna last forever at the time
Wee lived way out in the sticks on the island of Anglesey. So wee had at least a 2 hr car journey every weekend. But that made the night that bit more special, 3 cars full of your best mates, already scored during the week so wee were laughin, Shellys, Kinetic, Wigan pier, Bowlers Manchester and The Orbit, Leeds. Some of the places wee had some stonking nights and not one bit of trouble, came home safe to Chill in someones house all day smoking some weed and laughin at the stories from the night before. I`m 50 now and still think about those nights and everything that came with the scene. Even Ibiza every year, now that`s another story....LOL........
This is amazing to watch cause you realize all of those people there are now dads and moms worrying about their children raving too much ^_^ The cycle of life.
I've already taken my daughters to a Child's rave. After five minutes of that atmosphere, I put down my can of Red Stripe and started looking for potential dealers and baby sitters. I don't care if they judge me, the eldest doesn't have to go next time.
😊You are right...We were teens and happy with your friends. We can dancing all night until the morning and even the afternoon....Yours parents hated yours musics and de liked that😂😂😂. I remembered your radio-cassette stereo, we pumped the volume and dancing in yours bedrooms with plenty of posters😊😊😊😊👍👍👍.
it was immense. This was a small party, with a bad DJ. the good ones had thousands and pumping systems and epic epic beats. And drugs. We came back down and the planet had changed and the hope was gone
It was yes. End of the 80' came the acid house scene in Belgium and spread all over the other countries and many many rave parties took place. I think everyone like me born early 70' remember and miss the 80' and 90'...

Rave to the grave! 1❤
Put perfectly 👍👍

Amen!!!!!
The sad part is that there HAS NOT BEEN and there will NEVER EVER be ANYTHING quite like this again. I am grateful to have been a part of it. At least back then people fucking smiled at each other in a club :)
very true.
I wish we were back then, everyone on the same buzz, no fighting, just all in love with music and dancing, and pure E!!
philipo lawther The New Wave days of the 80's were just as good as the house scene.
Michael A i dont know about that
No social media in those days.
Nothing outside of those 4 walls mattered it was all about having fun. It's what weekends were about
For some people weekends feel like weekdays.
Raves in the early and mid 90s was awesome. ....not a ego in sight. .all about the groove
I'm soooo jealous of anyone who was a teenager/young adult during this time
Elizabeth Gornall You and me both Missy! 🙁
Just don't tell your bank manager that you saw them in there **cough!**
I would of been 15 ..... used to frequent quite a few raves in the time.... rezerection was my fave
U Can tellin ya
I was in my early 20's it was fucking amazing 😁
There were no drugs there. Everyone was just on chewing gum.
@MakeorBreak, haha, I thought that as well. I was watching a tv drama the other day about youngsters in the 1980s, every single person's mouth was constantly bumping up and down chewing gum.
I was out clubbing in the 80s and 90s and don't really remember it, but I guess it was just because we did it all the time and thought nothing of it...but it looks daft.
hahahahaha
Extasy
Ahahahah seriously ?? Ahahahah idiot
Of course. What are drugs again?
Gone are the days but remembered forever, still get rushes when watch these back 😊
Happy days still remain, in my mind.
people barely move now in clubs. I remember the sweat dripping off the ceiling at 5am on a Sunday morning. people sitting on the stage rolling spliffs and sharing with anyone that wanted to join them it didn't matter if they were strangers everyone was welcome
Dee coop those were the days
Possible fear of social media mate, and virral.
Innit. If you watch any of those vids on boiler room or the like....most people are either on their phone, recording the night on their phone or talking. No fuckers are even remotely ravings. Feel sorry for DJs today playing to that. We had it good in the 90's.
We'll live, We'll live, We'll live as one family….best days of my life
we still do that now but not inside the club either in the back or the front
I am proud that this was my youth.
the wisest ones are those who dance
Does watching this just make anyone else feel like crying? Man, nothing will ever replicate the zeitgeist of the 90's
I am so lucky to have been a part of this incredible time, no trouble whatsoever, just nice happy people who went out with the intention of dancing for 8hrs straight 😂 great music, no mobile phones, no egos. This will never happen like this ever again sadly
This is the best comment
Unbelievable times!! Why carnt we bring it back? It's up to us!! ❤❤❤
dito
spot on.
At least we have this record - thank you whoever had the foresight in 1992 to film this
Thanks for your kind words Shelley's was a great club with an amazing atmosphere ❤️
Great days,

Track listing per another website:
Sined Roza - I Don't Know What It Is
Rhythm on the Loose - Break of Dawn
Tingo Tango - It Is Jazz (House Mix)
2 For Joy - Let the Bass Kick
S12 - On A Ragga Tip
Pierre Feroldi - Movin On
Asha - JJ Tribute
btw, I really miss those days. I live in NYC now and all everyone does is dress up, stand around and try their hardest to be cool. Music doesn't matter especially seeing the guy who's been voted best DJ for the past 10 years or so plays top 40.
+Michael A What's the very first track @2:40 ? Sounds like some dub-techno tune but dub techno only appeared some 20 years later.
+John Aybier Phuture - Rise From Your Grave
Randy Sanchez many thanks
There's a track between Tingo tango and let the bass kick, do you know what it is?
"dub techno only appeared some 20 years later." lol what?
This reminds me of how over the years we have lost connection with each other through the music and feeling bliss of consciousness when people cared about the whole experience..if I ever have a rave again NO PHONES ALLOWED NOT ONE! This set is AMAZING That night was on FIRE FOR REAL😎🎶🎧🔥🔥🔥
Would love to go back
@@NB_NB_NB Need a time machine😉😎
@@crystaldawn8875 yeah. I'll take the next best thing and hit an old skool rave instead.
Back then the future seemed liked something to look forward to. Now we just want to go back.

Yup, it's only gonna get worse with the brainwashed masses.
Another 30 years from now people will say the same about our era and wish to go back to what we have now , Enjoy it while you can past , present future but I agree these days seems somewhat less stress free.
It’s 2023 and I still listen to these tunes. Typical classic house music. Timeless 🎉
Brilliant upload.....god I miss those days,,, everybody just loved up hugging everyone, breaks my heart those days are over...peace and love to everyone in this video
people are there for fun and music, not instagram stories.
Beneath the motives are still the same though: fitting in, following trends and novelty.
Oh they would definitely be there for that if social media was existent
Feels a bit strange looking back to those days now
If you're interested in fucking with social media snobs, look up the phantom 'reflectacles' ;)

This is like a time capsule. It should be treasured in a museum, this is something special. It reminds me of some good times
Great scenes..
TH-cam is the museum
Oh the excitement, standing in the queue, hearing the PA sound check that familiar Alison Limerick bassline warming up the speakers knowing that tonight is here and we're almost IN!! Chattin shit to the crew infront of you as you come up on the phet, all of you buzzin as you know what's in store, you all know the score..It's gonna be another mad one
God I miss Shelleys
I was a twinkle in parents eye back then! Am 26 now and clubbing is nothing like this, ya'll so happy and loving life!
People actually danced with eachother, now they just stare at the DJ
And stare at their phones 😏
Dusan Ignjatovic non heureusement ce n'est pas partout comme ca ! :)
It is sad that so many drugged out people danced like sheep or was it battery chickens.
Dusan Ignjatovic slightly wrong....they danced alongside eachother...
bighands69 had a good time though...
I think the absence of smart phones and social media made people give less of a f**k and be less self conscious.
No that was the E and the whole togetherness and pilled out ya head u really thought we godlike on that dance floor
Carsten Tonnies Yeah obviously that too!
Agree with you there, people was less self conscious, 🙂
Yes in an era before black mirror became a reality
No way !

There was more self-confidence and more consciousness !
If you modern falks

Thank you for posting this awesome video and thank you to everyone who helped out with the track names. I have only love for ravers from the old daze. Don't let the spirit die.

Simon Cordt Yas! Agreed!
Special times mate, I agree!!
1991 was the summer of love , white doves, brown biscuits and Dennis the Menace, absolutely fantastic times😎
Someone shining a camcorder in my face would have been so annoying, but glad it was captured on video. Looked like a top night!!! Thanks for uploading
Damn I wish I was a liitle bit older. Love the music from these early 90s raves.
Earliest I managed to experience was 1999. Same attitude I found. Nobody cared what they were wearing, no camera phones. Just good times. Happy people with no worries. 👍🏼 Miss these events.
they do.a shelleys reunion still in stoke

Now still love it won’t ever change 1 mate said we’re your going off to take drugs mate said one day he will realise we doing it though well are he was bag on 1989
No social media, no internet for that matter. No mobile phones for the masses - just the foot long Motorola International 3200 and Nokia 1011 for yuppies in London. All was arranged by word of mouth and telephone boxes.

Looking at them now & thinking there all in there forties now crazy how life passes you by .
40 I'm 60 2018 and DJed these Clubs all over. Loved It.
Lee Morgan 40 and still raving at home though as clubs nowadays are filled with hopeless people. It was great to have lived in that great era.
I'm 45 and miss those times
That lovely nervous coming up feeling.
Even though I've suffered with depression on and off for most of my life (most likely due to nights like these), I'm still glad I was part of it.
How often were you doing it and for how long?
Same here. Mostly brought on by constant Ecstasy and Speed. No regrets though. Best time in my life.
Those times kept me alive. Nuts, but alive.
I have to say I bet you were depressed before the drugs. And your depression is cyclical in nature. As was mine! Use the "stop technique."☺️
I believe this did cause depression, because whatever you did in life after the scene, we know these were the best years of our lifes and we just can’t go back. Thought it was gonna last forever at the time
Most of my dear friends are dead now sadly, going from Pills and then up the ladder to harder drugs, I miss them very sadly.
Never went to Shelley's. God bless the people who documented this, so I at least have some idea of what I missed
Cell phones, social media and the internet are a big reason this isn't possible anymore...
This is amazing to watch cause you realize all of those people there are now dads and moms worrying about their children raving too much ^_^
The cycle of life.
Mark Johnson if they were raving like this we wouldn't worry.
I've already taken my daughters to a Child's rave. After five minutes of that atmosphere, I put down my can of Red Stripe and started looking for potential dealers and baby sitters. I don't care if they judge me, the eldest doesn't have to go next time.

it was immense.
