I have 2 small children, so "Your Personal Penguin" has been a hit in my house since it came out about 4 years ago :) And I agree about Talia, Annabel, and their "quiet strength" - it was beautiful.
I was there that night, and had never heard of "Your Personal Penguin" before, but after hearing the song and watching the video, I knew that David was the perfect choice to record the song. BTW, marlou1313, I'm glad that you got this footage of Talia speaking, because I didn't get any video of her that night. She and Annabel so *totally* captured my heart that evening, because of their warmth, grace, and quiet strength.
I was CONVINCED that I was going to marry him when I was 11 when the Monkees show just started. Wasn't he voted the number one teen idol of all time? The Monkees were a feel good band! They really were something special for females of all ages. A very eclectic group of men. And the song Daydream Believer, is one of the most special songs ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can add To Sir With Love and There's a Kind of a Hush to that also!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ooooh, the FAB SIXTIES!!!!!!
when you think about it, now that its all said and done, the monkees wheren't just a bubblegum group. THEY WHERE THE ALLTIME GREATEST BUBBLEGUM GROUP! thats actually a pretty cool thing to be its like being a great pastry chef, a cream puff is just sugar and eggs, cream and flour but if you do it right, it's sublime
don't worry everyone,Mike Nesmith is right, wherever there is a joyous dance,an irresistible singalong,a cherubic laugh and eyes sparkling with love Davy Jones is alive and well! the Monkees was "dead" 44 YEARS AGO............it ought to be sinking in by now THAT WORD DOSEN'T ACTUALLY MEAN ANYTHING
I think that Davy thought he hit the jackpot when Linda married him...but I agree I think it was his money (tho he was THAT rich) that she was after.....not too many ppl liked her...imo

"We thank you!" @ about 3:00. Yes. Very well said. We thank you, indeed, for sharing him with all of us. ♥
what a lovely speech from TAlia she seems like a great person as all of DAvy daughters were.
She certainly did. She's a beautiful person.
