Oh my goodness, this broke my heart and has me crying! I am so glad your dad gave Midnight a reprieve and over 30 happy years. I'm sorry your father was taken far too soon. Your Dad was a great compassionate person. He brought a lot of smiles to girls my age watching him perform on the TV in the 1960's. He was funny, cute and sexy on his own without the need to make crude, lewd video's that boarder on porn which so many singers rely on today to be popular. And his voice needed no electronic pitch correction either. He had it all, and a good heart inside too. Be proud he is your dad, and we are glad to have known him as fans.

I have not even gotten on a horse, but just recently went back to school to be a vet tech. I took a horse hoof care class and was around the horses. Now I wish like your dad, I would have learned to ride a horse. I'm in my 50's now and scared to get on one! I am so impressed that Davy rode so fast as a jockey. So lucky to have had a dad like that Jessica! That was very special.
I've been sad all evening and through the night, even crying, having watched the I Want To Be Free episode, Davy on the beach, smiling at the kids and riding bareback with a kid in his arms. I don't ride, I don't like feeling I'm using them...just want to, or wish to share life with them. Love horses always. Love your dad always. Tender hearts.

Just as Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead, all of our dead loved ones will be resurrected to a paradise earth where it is written that there will ne no more sickness, sorrow or death. I hope that I am there to finally meet him. We can put our faith in Gods promises. Your father, like all of our loved ones is asleep in death, waiting for that resurrection. This is a great tribute and i can understand what you and your sister are gonig through i lost my dad to a heartattack when i was 18 he was born in 1945 to. my dad passedway in 2001 and i think about him everyday. i always think about davy everyday he was such a sweet man.

Hello, Jessica. Your father's equine love was clear by how often they were included in the TV scripts. I'm sure you know that assorted clips are shown during the 2013 Monkees tour, which we saw last night. My teenage daughter asked me while the "horse race sequence" (Episode 8) was on the screen if that was really Davy riding. I explained that it was, since he was a jockey & horse lover. I'm sure you've, also, heard about the thunderous ovations during the "Davy Tribute" film. Best Wishes.
Loved this video and the heart and soul it reflects. Grew to really respect your Father (and the other 3 guys) greatly over the years, and in checking a few things out over the YT this past couple of years, I'm not only sure he's watching over the four of you and your kids, but also that he's very proud and smiling. Janet, you are not too old to start riding. Find a local rescue and hang out there grooming and loving the horses. Soon your fear will go away and you'll find someone who will help you with the basics. You've got plenty of years ahead of you to enjoy with a horse of your own!
