dude you're way too talented, just contact a well skilled modder and make your own version of Minecraft in a mod, like adding the amethyst shield and grappling hook, or the archeology update
Much larger and more resilient than real termites, irl they actually die in the sunlight and make dirt tunnels just to avoid UV. These are what termites wish they were fr. Also they should have the fungus they use as food to be a drop from destroying their wood nests.
@@yrnteao Ah and on that note, arthropods bones are made of a sugar derivative, which is why they’re weak to dangerous fungus types. Idk what exactly the mildly parasitic species in minecraft means to arthropods if it specializes in mammals, probably not danger to them, but ye probably.
I love this concept, but what’s hard is new players. Imagine your a player that used to play minecraft and just got it for the first time in like 5 years. You go into the latest release, and play. All of this would seem a bit to complicated for the player, and maybe overwhelming. I love the concept otherwise though!
This is my biggest problem with this concept. It is overly complicated and too mechanic heavy when Minecraft itself isn't mechanically intensive at all.
@@thewyit4222 Seeing new biomes and structures is different from having to learn about 12 new mechanics without any direction. You learn about piglin bartering naturally by noticing that they pick up golden items. You learn how summoning a warden works and how to avoid it by seeing skulk sensors away from shriekers and using basic game knowledge to know that crouching = quiet. There's no way anybody walks up to a termite and thinks, "wow, I can't wait to tame these and place a wooden sword in a chest to upgrade it"
I said it on the light mode video, and I'll say it here. Your ideas are wonderful but you suffer from Developer bias. What may seem like a good idea is actually horrible in execution due to the overwhelming complexity for little reward. For example the pincer sword/attack. No player is going to use an item that affects their special sword, to have to execute 4 hits and a Crit, just to get a delayed bit of extra damage, IF they actually pull it off. That's not "fun". I think I'll suck back a strength potion and just use my axe thanks.
Oh right. That pincer thing could be made into an enchantment which gives a similar effect every 'x' hits. Or procs on crits. It's literally a worse version of 'Echo' from MC Dungeons. So with some work and a new name like IDK "Wrath of Arthropods" you may have something.
This is a cool idea, but only a small amount of termites eat wood about 183 out of the 3000 species. Most eat other things like fungus which they grow in their colonies. It's a harmful stereotype and a bit mean to throw all termites under the bus, for somthing only a small amount of the termite species do.
very good your videos, I have a suggestion you should make a pixel sword pincer animation instead of just rotating pincers on the sword because doesn't look too Minecrafty
I like the idea that the pincer sword could do knockback with both hits, but the second one always does it in the same direction as the first. So if you got it from the front, you would be knocked back, but if you went to run away, you would be knocked back a second time, back into your opponent. But it isn't all benefits- you can block the second hit if you take out your shield and you can even regen between hits.
These termite crafted items would be really anyoing to teach new players. games that require wiki diving are considered as bad by new/returning players
Would it be better to release the mellow version first? I prefer mellow but it's possible the light mode would get more clicks if the thumbnail is for some reason statistically more appealing
Mr.block pixel you now have all these concepts to make the game easier but with our a challenge the game is too easy. So make a concept to make the game harder like a boss or new enemy (iceologer)

The parts of this comment past Read More aren't going to be pleasant, and I'm directing it at Blockixel themselves. I feel like you're an *immensely* talented creator who deserves to be making some banger videos right now, but you might need honest feedback regarding that. Your animation skill is great but your videos are ultimately game design concepts, and I feel like that part is what needs improvement. Please do not feel shame in taking a break from reading my feedback to do something else for a bit, it's never nice reading harsh commentary. I feel like compared to your first few videos, *these later ones don't feel like ideas that could actually exist in Minecraft.* That's a very high bar to clear of course, _(what makes game mechanics "minecrafty" is a big topic)_ but this termite video is filled with game design ideas that are _just weird and unnecessary._ It doesn't feel like organic or intuitive game design for pretty much any game, let alone vanilla Minecraft. It would be _too weird_ by most mod's standards, which usually have more leeway to explore non-Minecrafty game design. First up, *reworking Minecraft's combat/making it more interesting is a noble goal, but please, just make a video about a combat rework.* The answer to making Minecraft's combat interesting should not, and would never, involve grabbing a sunken boat post from the ocean, then migrating to the savannah and developing a diplomatic relationship with termites by using the sunken boat post to feed the termites _(but not just barrels, even though the termites use the barrels too?)_ then harvesting the termite's moultings to get unique items that you then put in the barrel alongside wood to prompt the termites to craft unique items. You clearly want to propose ideas about combat, *so just do a combat video!* You do not need to mulligan so many ideas into trying to make items that will fix Minecraft's combat. You don't even need to suggest a new item, if you just demonstrated visually how an altered combat system could make Minecraft more fun and explained the mechanics, that could be a phenomenal video! Second, *keep mechanics simple, and know when to kill/split your darlings.* The Splinter Shield in this video is a good example. It's a shield that fires projectiles in a curved arc, _and also_ eats projectiles, which allows you to fire a special projectile in retaliation that marks an enemy to be attacked by a minion the shield spawns? That's almost an entire Overwatch character's worth of abilities into one Minecraft item, and that's the _second_ item in this same video that can eat arrows- Why? Finally, *please offer greater consideration to what aspects of play should be leaned into for different concepts.* For example, while I think so many complicated combat items don't suit a termite video at all, them having a unique taming dynamic is an idea that fits well with most mobs, and I also like the idea of termites gating the ability to use wood to make equipment roughly as strong as Iron. Eg. What about a system where the colony's total number of Woven Termites increases depending on how many different woodtypes have been introduced to the colony? That presents a major gameplay use for termite colony placement (tamed static defense) and it creates a gameplay reward for collecting every unique woodtype. Ideally, your game design concepts should leave players wishing Minecraft was like this, but at the moment, a lot of the presentations leave me feeling overwhelmed instead of excited, unfortunately.
I agree with the arguments. While your (Ixel's) technical skills are out of this world and I thus love your videos, the concepts have gotten a little unrealistic lately. I'm not here to tell you what to do, this is your channel but just trying to leave some feedback that might be helpful. Suggesting stuff to be added to vanilla Minecraft is very hard, as each feature has to fit an immense amount of requirements posed by features, other game mechanics, lore, playstyles, age and difficulty. It seems that you are aware of them and try to fulfill them by making your suggestions more feature-rich to cover more issues. This sadly also increases the complexity thought, which comes with its own problems as mentioned in the comment above. I would suggest giving simpler concepts a try, for example something in the scope of "Shulkerboxes are chests you can break without spilling the contents, you have to kill a mob to get the crafting materials". This would make for some shorter but maybe more frequent videos. To not put your animation and graphics design skills to waste, a few of them (~3?) could be bundled in a video and I personally would love for a few videos to then have a theme like "features I would add to the swamp" or "my take on an update to the end". Whatever you do though, I am happy to have found your channel and want to say thank you for sharing your creations! :)
Yeah, I think it is a little too complicated for a combat update. I wouldn't say it is not minecrafty, but I don't think this is the right approach in termites, neither in adding things to minecraft's combat system ( I do like the different combat upgrade items tho )
Wait a second, this is familiar...
