Thanks Jon - I believe in sharing the good with the not so good, otherwise it is easy to get misled by some reviewers out there. I also believe in offering solutions and workarounds that the manufacturer may not have thought of.
I don't at this stage - I had thought about offering the lightburn files or SVG's so people can make their own - my concern providing the completed project for sale would be accuracy amongst different machines that may be calibrated slightly different therefore eliminating the accuracy of the squaring jig - does that make sense?
I think you might struggle with a tumbler, the only possible workaround would be to have some frame support structure underneath the whole unit and use the cutout bas panel to sit on top that structure, but without rotary motion your engraving area would be limited

Great well detailed review, nice that you highlighted issues you had with it which many reviewers don't seem to include. Thanks.

Could it engrave metal?
Like silver or gold?
Sure not very deeply, but can it?
Unfortunately a diode won't engrave either - you would need a fibre laser for that
Do you have an Etsy store selling the wooden rulers you have created here?
