I know this is an old post. But quite an impressive equalizer none the less. A truly extraordinary piece of equipment. My first experience with equalizers (EQ) was at a girlfriends house. She had a Pioneer SG-9500. Man, did that make a difference in the sound. From subtle to drastic, it was addictive. That was in 1976. HAD to have one. I found the ADC Sound Shaper Two (with the green VU meters) in 1977. Very good quality and satisfactory, until (in 1982) I saw the Sound Shaper Two IC. Had 12 controls per channel, bidirectional tape dubbing, large LED meters, independent output controls and a good subsonic filter (18db/oct @ 15hz). I still use that EQ. That's 35 years! But this Technics SH-8075 is something else. I would love a chance to use an EQ like this. A true 1/3 octave of equalization for EACH CHANNEL (31 controls each). Reading the user manual for this unit would be a blast. Drool, drool.
Hi Marty, It is an amazing piece of kit and I'd loved listening to my music on everyday but sadly had to sell it. It does crop up on ebay so look out for it. Thank you for the comments. All the best
Rookie, too bad you had to sell it. I would love the chance to play with an EQ of that sophistication. Mind you I am very happy with my Sound Shaper Two IC. Still, 33 bands per channel, wow! Mine is never boosted more (or less) than two or three db's on any one slider, just doesn't need it. Although the quality of the speakers have a lot to do with the sound. Mine are a pair of Ohm Acoustics Model L's (1978) and EPI model 180's (1981). Anyone who says vintage components aren't good value should have their head examined.
I have the sh-8055 since summer of 1989 which is super but this one is definatelly a BEAST : Technics SH-8075 : www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/technics/sh-8075.shtml With service manual for anyone might needed it
I'm proud ower of one , quality sounds out put. Great piece of technology made in Japan
Absolutely. Hold on to it as long as you can and keep it free from dust and dirt. I’ve regretfully sold mine. Bad move on my part lol.
