Thank you for your easily understood video. I’m making a king size quilt for my granddaughters wedding from one material that I need to sew together. I just didn’t know where to start. I am grateful to you for the information.
Yes, I love patchwork pieced quilts but when you have a great print, it is just so hard to cut it. You can use those prints as backings, but this project lets you feature two pretty prints! Thanks for watching and happy creating!
Your skin tone against those Tula colours looks AMAZING!!! Also, why are whole cloth quilts not more accepted as quilt gifts? They are such a brilliant idea!!!!!😊
I'm a beginner, having just finished my first quilt using a Christmas pre-printed panel. This method is really encouraging me to continue to make simple, easy and fun quilts like this one. Thank you for the very clear and simple instructions. Great job!!!
Wonderful! I love these simple and fun projects, especially for gift giving. They are still so special but you can also get them completed in a reasonable amount of time during this busy season. And for beginners, it is just great practice and wonderful for sewing confidence building! Happy Sewing!
Some fabrics don't want to be cut up, and this is a perfect design choice. Thank you for the inspiration. I might do this with the Marie Antoinette heads by Tula Pink.
I love this! Sometimes I just need a quick, cute quilt to get that satisfaction of making something lovely, and this will do the trick! Thank you! Also, I love your voice, and your clear, gentle way of instruction. I look forward to more videos from you! 🧵🪡
Hi! Yes, that’s what this project is for. It is also a great way to just practice the quilting technique and not have the added time commitment of patchwork piecing a top-which can also be a lot for someone new to sewing and quilting. Plus, when you have a really pretty fabric you sometimes don’t want to cut up the lovely print! Happy Creating and thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you so much Sheree, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and pretty quilt. Yes I think it’s something I could try to do. I would have liked to see you do some of the stitching 🧵 too. Please stay safe and well too
Thanks for watching. I have several quilting videos coming but I also uploaded a couple projects where I show you the stitching. I didn’t have my quilting table set up well to record and quilt when I did this one. I hope you’ll try it though. Take care!
Hi Sheree..what a lovely easy quilt..I will be making one for myself and a friend to cover our legs when sat watching T.V. in cold England❤ Thanks June😊
Hi June. I make these for my family a few Christmas ago so we all have movie night blankets! I’m in Minnesota-so Ivan relate. Happy Sewing and thank you so much for watching and commenting. 🧵
Great beginner way to learn quilting. This is what I’ve been looking for - a beginning to end. Thank you for explaining what you did to close the opening. I was watching for that.
Thank you so much for this video. I've just started quilting and have never seen a quilt made this way! I'm definitely going to try it. I'm on my second whole cloth quilt - hope to graduate up to the "regular" piece quilting soon. Beautiful material! Thanks so much!!!
Wonderful! You’ll be ready for pieces quilts sooner than you know. I have an east half square triable quilt tutorial you should check out. Happy Quilting!
Great idea Sheree! Yes, I would.....or will, definately make one, and would splurge on the fabric since it's one piece-think it would justify the price. Blessings my friend!
I made a baby quilt in a similar way but bound it with joined 2 1/2” strips. It never occurred to me to make a bigger size, so I will definitely be trying it your way. You voice is very laid back, but to the point and I really enjoyed your video. Thank you and Happy New year!
You are kind-thank you so much for the encouraging words. I sometimes worry I’m too laid back for TH-cam. 🤣 don’t want viewers falling asleep. But sewing really relaxes me and so it shows in the videos I guess. I appreciate you watching. I bet the strip quilt turned out lovely!
Hi again Sheree! I am currently making two projects this way. I’m making a wall hanging for my grandson’s bedroom with Steampunk fabric. I will be turning it tomorrow and then doing the quilting. I’m also going to start the in-between blanket and use different flannel which is of better quality than what I originally planned on using. On my list, is to get some of that polka dot fabric from Tula Pink for a future project. Hope you are well!
Hey Sheree. Just browsing TH-cam tonight and came up to your tutorial. Very pretty fabrics. You made that quilt quick. Awesome job Sheree. I think I can make a quilt. I’m going to try this fall. I finished putting up some canned peach jams and chow chow today. I’ve been really busy with my harvest. Also I planted some kale today for the fall garden. Truly enjoying my garden this year. Happy sewing Sheree!🪡🧵
Just found your channel! This quilt is so pretty. This would be an excellent idea for a rush baby gift. Your voice is so calming as you explain how to!! Thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Yes, sometimes you don’t have weeks to spare but you want to gift something handmade-this is perfect. And I really love showcasing the real large scale fabrics this way! Happy Creating.

@@shereesalchemyshop Thanks for the suggestions. I realized that I have a large piece of flannel that I used to use for my design wall. That’s what I will use. It has been washed many times so it is ready to go!

Lovely. The material does not need much embleshiment for a great result.

Definitely using this method for a quilt I want to make for using in the park or beach. Thank you.

The True Neon is such a unique collection that works well with several of her collections!

Did you have any trouble with the fabric bunching up when you got to the edges? That would be my only concern. Beautiful fabrics though and a great quick way to make a gift!
I didn’t. But the things I did in this video help prevent that issue. Give it a try and hopefully it works for you.
Beautiful
Thanks so much. It’s the sweetest fabric. I’m a bit partial to pink and elephants though!
very pretty
Thank you!
Hi Sheree, this is the second time I watched this video and I think, in my case, it would be the perfect answer to that in-between blanket for Fall. I would put flannel in the middle. Do you suggest that I wash the flannel before I make the quilt? I think the flannel shrinks, unless if I can fine some used flannel around the house. This will be for a queen-size bed. Different fabrics will shrink differently depending on the manufacturer. The designer quilters cottons I used shrink very little.
One thing you can do is a test swatch. Quilt a 6 inch sand which and wash it and dry it. Then re-measure and see if it looks too puckered for your taste. That way you don’t make a big quilt that your aren’t happy with.
I hope this helps a bit! Hugs, Sheree
@@shereesalchemyshop Thanks for the suggestions. I realized that I have a large piece of flannel that I used to use for my design wall. That’s what I will use. It has been washed many times so it is ready to go!
Love your fabrics. Who is the musician at end of video loved that too!
Can fleece be used to make this quilt?
Yes you can use pretty much any fabric for these double sided blanket quilts. Fleece can be a bit tricky to quilt. You could hand tie if you are new to quilting.
Looks like a quick, easy quilt to make. I especially like the the suggestion to use flannel instead of batting. Did you not iron your fabrics before sewing? I’m a little OCD and was wondering if there were any issues with the wrinkles.

Just found your channel. Planning a whole cloth quilt; love the top fabric I've chosen, BUT I can only find my backing fabrict in 45" width. Do you think it will be ok to piece the back? Quilt will be queen size.
I like to round the corners on baby quilts. Do you ever round them?
Most quilt fabric is now 44 inches wide. But there is 108 inch wide quilt backing. And some flannels and cottons can be found that are 55 inches wide-they are usually marketed for apparel. You can use sheeting as a backing as well.
I like to round my edges on some blankets but I don’t usually on quilts. Rounded corners are a sweet touch for baby blankets.
Just found your channel. Is this similar to a WholeCloth Quilt? What is the finished size of your quilt? Super nice finished quilt.
I can’t remember but you lose about an inch on all sides as you sew with 5/8th inch seams and then quilt it. So figure out the size you want and add an inch around for seaming. Hope that helps!
I just discovered your channel and I've already taken a peek at your Etsy store. I love both. So help me out a little bit with the Quilters math, if you cut 62-in (width of fabric 44 or 45 in?) is that roughly three and a half yards of each fabric? PS the fabric is gorgeous!

Very nice! I’ll have to try it again when I did the stitching the batting was not flat what did I do wrong
Was the issue when you did the quilting stitches? Or the edge stitching? It could be two things-your quilting/sewing machine doesn’t have differential feeding, so it’s not allowing all of your layers to go through together, resulting in bunching.
It could also be an issue with your layers.
When you make your sandwich, you have to make sure the batting and all layers are flat. Basting in place can help you or you can also spray paste (spray basting comes in a spray can and you can follow those directions). Practice makes better, so start with a smaller blanket maybe. A little lap quilt that’s like 24th he’s square is always a nice place to start. Hope this helps!
