I like how you solve the oil pickup problem by adding washers.👍 Have you done a video where you show how to solve common problems with engine assembly. Wrong bearing clearances, to much end play etc. Love the videos.
I havent watched a video in a minute but i like the new vibe, the transparency and humor like the lifter thing makes for a much more enjoyable video imo.
I use to have the Chevrolet SS the Australian Holden car came with the LS3 was pushing out over 500HP After my son did some work to the engine. Me and my son missed that car. Now that I am retired I having thoughts of getting another one. The only car that really doesn’t lose value.
Wot brand are the shaft mount rler tipped rockers and stands you used in your video a few years back in 2021 ....would love too buy a complete kit for l77 ls3 1.7 ratio ....regards Deano from Australia
Great video as always, like the format. Cant wait to see the dyno numbers. Nice to see you build a motor with the piston out of the hole. Should be really snappy. Did you run a longer rod in this motor?
Looking forward to working with you guys in the near future. I wanted something different then everyone's running. The only fear i have is the shipping to hawaii will be the same as the longblock 😬 lol
Currently building a 416 NA LS 3 with Comp rocker shaft system. Whats the part # for the correct link bar Johnson lifters with axel oiling feature for 1.7 rocker ratio?
Random question? The 4.8L LS is a 3.78 bore (or close I believe)? I’m wanting to build an AMC 304 V8. Custom pistons are Stupid expensive, even cast? If I could use off the shelf 4.8 Forged Pistons they would be dramatically cheaper( I understand it will have to be bored & homes to the exact size). What’s the odds the skirt length & the in the hole size will work. New to the Channel any help would be appreciated. Thx!
What brand standard bearings are you running? The rotating assembly I got has acl coated bearings but when looking online I can’t find a match set of x bearings for if I need to split the difference as you did on the mains. Texas speed said they use a specific bearing but I can’t even find these on their site. Was thinking about going with king bearings or buying acl bearings and starting over. I believe the bearing name on the box says performance engine bearings but when searching the part number it comes up with engine tech which what I’m finding is acl bearings
And to think I worked as a auto tech for over 20 years and power tools were only used when really needed not when ever possible. Seems everyone today is doing power tool happy. The general public working on their own stuff should do their engine assembly without power tools. As bad things can and do happen no matter how talented and careful you are when using said tools. For the pros I leave it up to them.

@thatengineguy This ^^
Some of us have built several but figuring out where we went wrong gets expensive, lol

Love the new humor built Into the content. Sick motor!
I do like the single video build.
no windage tray?

Love that you left the heckling in there :)
This video was cool. One shot videos are perfect
Keep these kind of videos coming! That engine is going to do very well
Love this style brother. Thank you for your knowledge. You make it look real easy.
Do you not degree cams??
Sweet looking bullet.
don't you need to center the oil pump outer ring to the body before tightening the mounting bolts?
Quiet you're messing his rhythm up. But yes😂
did it in an older video
Any reason you don’t use the dual row timing chain set please?
Thanks 👍🇦🇺

I wanna see the pTR tested the most, especially with all the different runner lengths. Im also curious about mixing and matching runner lengths
Whats pTR stand for?
She's going to run really well!!!!
What’s the purpose of hitting the bottom of the rods after install

How come you don’t use a windage tray?
I’m guessing the pan has one built in, but was wondering the same thing.
Tie bar lifters don’t use trays 👍
@@itsyourboy5343 a windage tray has nutin to do with the lifters 🤣🤦🏾 stay away from cars
@@itsyourboy5343I think you’re confusing that with lifter trays
Because he used washers to space the pickup? Makes since. 😂
can you test a stock ls3 intake as well?

I noticed there was no chain dampener, does Smeding run the engines without them?
new style of videos are nice, a short video of how u clean everything would be awsome
So you don’t need a windage tray when running a 4” stroke setup?
great content as usual love these builds ... my next build for next year will a 416 stroker ..i might shop through your store :)

When you use CMD thread lube, do you torque them to the same torque value as ARP lube?
Super nice engine!
Where can I get the same kit
Can you use mls gaskets on your 383 deck surfaces?
How much torque are you putting on them good looking Smeding rods and are they ARP 2000 bolts?
New sub. Excellent attention to detail
Can those 11 degree heads work with all LS aftermarket pistons?

I’m building a LQ9 but made it to a 6.2 with stock 6.2 pistons and gen 4 rods
What head gaskets and head bolts should I use?
The same ones you ran when it was a 6.0……cant go wrong with Ls9 headgaskets though
Awesome video series. Thanks for sharing. Do you guys ship, for instance, stroker kits worldwide, specifically Australia by chance?
So you’re saying you ran the 260cc heads on a 4.0 bore block? Been debating on ordering these or prc heads

Love the single episode build.
Not nearly as much as the Busch Light though
How to get a sponsor on a build like this 🤔 got the block ready 6.0 & 6.2 🤨🤨
I pray for your headgaskets on spray. Keep it out of peak torque and it might live
💯💯💯💯💯💯
2 5 to 2 7 ?
Did you mean 2.005- 2.007?
67 👍's up EG thank you for sharing 🤗
Busch?!?!?
How much would this engine cost me? Ballpark figure. 😊
🇦🇺
Stop walking back and forth the stand is on wheels
