- Hello! This is our final video from the summer vacation, where we were building/relaxing.
In this video we're not only having one but two sets of guests in the cabin! It feels very special, because the cabin is far from finished, so to be entertaining and having sleepovers here is a very unique experience.
It is also time to wrap up and make the cabin ready to stand on its own in wind and rain and what may come, while we are away.

I find myself smiling after each video. I love the before and after shots of the cabin. Although I live in a large house I want to build a small cabin on my property. You two give me good ideas. So proud of you guys Annie the cabin has come a long way. I love the red paint. In Belize houses are painted many colors but I am seeing lots of aqua green now a days because it seems to be the cheapest colors. People usually paint houses in December in celebration of Christmas. I really miss my little house in the forest too. Sending Love...Lisa

You have manged to get so much done this past summer. Im so glad you chose a traditional color for the cottage and the inside is getting really cozy. I love the big carpet! Nice chantarelles you got there in the pan. This week in Siskola it was all about muchrooms. So tasty! Take care!❤
Hey! Thank you ❤ Yes, we also love the traditional rödfärg. And the big carpet was one of our luckiest finds. It was a lady in Denmark, who was moving to a nursing home, so she sold almost everything in her house. The chantarelles were SO delicious. They were a gift from our neighbour.

In Finland we talk about the Falun red and the Italian red. Not sure yet what shade to go for. I’m going to try too cook the paint in a big barrel when I get that far. It has water, iron winder, rye gruel, the red clay pigment and a little salt for storing it better. Some people add a bit if linseed oil too.

Yeah Siskola is a treasure trove with all the old farm equipment. It will take years to go through it. I wish I could just live there all the time. I’m sure you can relate to that. 😊

Wow !!! This was so fun to see this morning because where I am winter is starting for real and I've been also trying to paint my old and ugly trailer Swedish red to make it look like a Swedish cottage . Julian is amazing at getting all this carpentry done ... really appreciate how you two work so hard ... it will be such a magic day when you are all done !! If it's like my projects , that "done" day will probably never come but once it's mostly done then , YAY for you guys !!!💚

Hello, greetings from Alaska. We just discovered your vlog this morning and are really enjoying watching you restore your old cabin. The insulation you are using looks really interesting, not like the fiberglass batts that are so common here. Would you mind telling me what it is made of? Also, I love the red paint you put on the cabin. I recently finished building a small sailboat and used some Swedish linseed oil paint that I found wonderful to use. It brushed on so smoothly, didn't smell badly at all, and looked fantastic when it dried. Just like your cabin. Thank you, and best of luck!

@@AnnieJulian den vi kiggede på er desværre allerede budt op til over dobbelt pris. Den var ellers helt magisk. Så vi må kigge videre. Synes det svenske marked er meget uigennemskueligt fordi der aldrig sættes en pris, men kun en udgangspris. Jeg er kun interesseret i off grid og meget tæt på sø og har et meget beskedent budget. Så opgaven er svær. Men heldigvis har vi stadig den anden torp i første række til Möckeln mens vi leder. Bedste chance er måske også at kontakte skovejerne og høre om de har noget de vil sælge fra. Det kan også bare være den rigtige tomt. Så snart noget ryger på Hemnet er det jo stort set væk med det samme (til overpris).
