New FASTEST Korok Seeds Glitch: 999 Seeds in only 10 Minutes TUTORIAL in Breath of the Wild

- Using Inventory Slot Transfer, it is now possible to get 999 Korok Seeds in only a few minutes - and this tutorial will show you how!
Thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it. This is my first "big" video, so let me know if you any comments or criticism to share.
For this glitch, you'll need a few stacks of items, a shield, and two one-handed weapons. Pretty easy, right? It's possible to do this very early game, practically right off the plateau even! Unfortunately, this method only works in Normal Mode.
Disclaimer: I did not discover this glitch nor did I write down the original steps for this tutorial. However, I am the first as far as I know to flesh it out into a full tutorial, and I recorded/edited all this footage myself. For the glitch discovery and early notes, credit goes to El Duende 05, kinak, and zxrobin.

I don’t think this particular method does, but you can duplicate heart containers and stamina vessels in Hateno Village with a glitch called Apparatus Storage

Still works. One thing to note is you need to re equip your shield after throwing the bomb and before holding 3 items.

Thought I'd drop a quick little FAQ about this method right here!
First things first, you should really learn the basics behind Inventory Slot Transfer. The best resource is RinHara5aki's guide, posted on the GameSpot TH-cam channel. (You'll find video game journalism gets good when a well-respected member of the subject matter's community literally works for the company. Hell, that probably applies to any kind of journalism.)
Q1. My Autosave A keeps getting replaced by Autosave B, how do I prevent this?
A1. *Getting an autosave quickly after another will replace the earlier one.* The Korok on the hill in the video is ideal because you have to spend a little time to get there, so Autosave A is kept intact.
Q2. I'm not getting my 999 seeds! What's happening?
A2. Make sure your axe is _equipped_ in Autosave B, and always remember to *_unequip_** your axes after every reload.* If that isn't working, always make sure you *don't have your 1 Korok Seed in the last 2 slots of your inventory* during all the reloads. _You don't need to use up all your seeds on your main save,_ that's just irrelevant coinciding data. The 999 seeds being transferred should *prevent whatever seeds you had from even loading,* because the game REALLY doesn't want you to have more than 999 of anything. If ever the sum of a transferred item stack and the stack of that same item that was already in the save is *more than 999, the transferred items take priority.* You transfer 999 of an item to any save, it replaces all other stacks of that item. You transfer 1 item to a save that has 999, the 1 stack will replace the 999 of them there.
Q3. Why all the triple reloads?
A3. Reloading with glitched slots like this will rearrange the inventory so that neither the foreign key items from your progressed save nor the 1 Korok Seed you collected will be in the last 2 slots of your inventory and get transferred around, preventing the 999 seeds from loading.
Q4. Why is my inventory even getting rearranged like that at all?
A4. Inventory Slot Transfer always transfers items to the front of the inventory. During most of the process, you'll only have 3 items, and 2 "offset" slots. 3 - 2 = 1, so your mCount is 1. When your mCount is 1 or lower, the game decides it *doesn't have to sort your inventory* to save processing power, so any new items just get put in *exactly the order they're loaded,* and the system responsible for inventory tabs interprets that as having "multiple" inventories.
Q5. So... why does this even work? What does equipping and unequipping axes have to do with getting a bunch of Korok Seeds?
A5. It's a lot of things that just come together to work like this, but it's basically a *complex form of Durability Transfer,* known as Inventory Corruption, or _Direct_ Inventory Corruption if it was done with IST. -Yes, that means the abbreviation is "DIC."- Weapon durability is internally stored as a value called "Life" in increments of 100, so *the 47 durability of an axe is internally 4700 Life.* There are two copies of your inventory, Memory and GameData. Whenever a save is loaded, the game transfers the Life of *equipped* items in Memory to the "aligned" item in GameData. IST, however, easily desyncs those two inventory copies, so the Life of one item is incorrectly written to a completely different item. In this case, it's the 4700 Life of an axe transferring to a Korok Seed, giving you 4700 of them, but it gets reduced to 999 to comply with what should be the max value.
If you're having a little trouble visualizing what's going on, you'll want to check out iTNTPiston's IST simulator. I won't post the link here though, TH-cam AutoMod really hates links (except those posted by bots, which are much more dangerous... 😒). You should just be able to directly copy and paste "itntpiston ist sim" into your search engine and check out the top result.
One last note: Inventory Slot Transfer was actually discovered by zxrobin. This method of corrupting your seeds to 999 was brainstormed by El Duende 05 and kinak. Linkus didn't have much part in this, but he did help bring IST and WMC to the public eye.

@@zimiaowang8152 It seems like with other people it didn't always work if they had one, so I would try getting rid of it by using it to upgrade storage (or getting enough to upgrade once and get to 0 seeds.)
@@enluminis i tried it before i knew i needed zero korok seeds to do the glitch and now my key items inventory is glitched out (it has multiple invisible urbosas fury etc) what should i do? also i tried doing it again with zero but it glitched out again
You can keep retrying after returning to main save after making autosave B; if your item isn't greyed out: collect all your items, melee to reset the weapon, equip shield, follow steps in video, make sure you press down and A simultaneously. The only thing that should be stopping your item from becoming gray is your timing on pressing down and A.

This is confirmed working as of 1/19/2023, TY SO MUCH!! Your guide was very well-made and easy to follow, the only part missing that others mentioned was the instruction to re-equip shield before holding the 3 items.
Did the save from the time area show cause it didn’t show for me?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work when I pick up the korok seed it overrides the temple save
Please please please note:
You need atleast 1 korok seed in your inventory before doing this
You need to requip your shield before holding items
You need to wait atleast 2 mins between auto saves to stop them from cancelling eachother
And the order is:
A unequip A unequip B A A C main file

Edit: Thanks to comments, we’ve been able to do a bit of troubleshooting! If autosave B overwrites save A, try to wait a minute or two, since if they are too close together they’ll overwrite. If the glitch isn’t transferring the seeds, it’s also possible you might need to grab a key item or two (I’m testing this one).
Never mind I got it to work! Thanks so much! One thing to note for you all learning is when you go to the temple of time don’t go straight the the korok seed wait until Zelda calls you then go to the seed
I dis some testing, you have to wait 50 seconds before getting the next seed. The game creates a new save slot every 50 seconds.

I can 100% confirm that this works up to date even though I was scared to death that this glitch would wipe my save or something. Anyone who is trying this glitch for the first time, it is OKAY! Does it matter what the save file order is for example korok then temple of time
It is important that you keep track of which save file is which, so most likely, yes.
just letting ppl know it still works!! i was very confused when people said to equip a shield after holding the three items - until i realized that after holding the three items i had to press left on the d-pad to equip a shield, and THEN hold ZL. also, i had another autosave happen after getting to the temple of time when zelda was speaking, i ignored it and still referred to the original temple of time autosave as A and korok save as B, even though the zelda voice save also labelled as "temple of time" was in the middle. still worked :)
Did it get fixed? Equiping shield after holding items does not do the trick (while without shield it does)
@@mateuszciupa8141 this glitch was never broken so it doesn't need "fixing". the developers won't update the game ever again, so this glitch will always work. just make sure to follow the video to the T and that you equip a shield by pressing left on the d-pad after holding the items, and then press ZL. it will work, trust me!

I had to modify the whole shield and sword method to finally get the glitch to work. (Equip shield before going into inventory to hold items)

can confirm this still works as of March 27, 2023. setup and excecution took me around 20 minutes, including messups. coming from someone who has never done a single BoTW glitch before...ever! incredibly simple. thank you so much

@@vecze5504 If you're talking about making the offset slots(I'm assuming you are) you have to press 'A' immediately after whistling, or pressing 'D-pad down' otherwise it won't work and you just need to repeat the steps for making offset slots
After holding items at 3:10, before you hold LZ, you forgot to mention equip a shield and then hold LZ and do the jump load routine, but I got it and it worked! Thank you! Am subscribing! I don’t know how you figured this out, but kudos to you!

How you cause it from not overlapping having that problem
I kept having the problem of the game making a save after Zelda tells you to go to the marked point on the map and it ate the previous 2 saves, you can get around that by waiting for it to happen at the temple of time then running to the korok. That save eats the forced second save creating the save A and B that you want

Still working on cemu 7/5/23, just in case anyone have the same problem as I with the autosaves, you need to wait at least one minute between the temple auto save and the korok auto save or the auto save b will overwrite auto save a. Thanks dude for the video

it worked! thanks. and yes, take note to equip shield again after throwing the bomb and before holding 3 items. and to quickly press A in front of the vendor after Link whistles.
I did it, and I got 1x korok seed and another 1x korok seed and got 2x korok seed. These korok seeds have their own slots.
If you messed up and got the separate korok seeds on your inventory, please try these steps.
-create autosave for main save even for safety, if you messed up you load this autosave and close the game
- after you create offset slots, you load autosave A then you LOAD autosave A again WITHOUT removing the axe (this saved me from messing up because I have 6 korok seeds on my main save)
-after you load autosave B, DON’T OPEN ANY MENU OR PICK ANYTHING until you got autosave C or the third save
These 3 steps are crucial if you have korok seeds on your main save. I almost messed up then I watched the other youtuber’s video and combined it with this video.
What if I messed up and don’t have a save before hand is there a way to like wipe the glitch away?

I’m having trouble with this part! 😢 after hitting down pad to whistle and immediately press A it doesn’t talk to the vendor instead it drops the items 😢. I’m frustrated 😅

Fun thing I learned while doing this, you will get an auto save after picking up the axe, but after you pickup the korok seed it will disappear for whatever reason, that’s why they have you grab a TOT save

Excellent video, i wanted to add some useful information:
1) ist slot can also be done with multi-arrow bows and at least one electric arrow (and it is also much simpler)
2) if save B replaces save A, once you make save A you have to wait for Zelda to "call you" before you get save B
3) from the moment you load save B, you must neither open the menu, nor the quick menu, nor pick up anything until the game saves automatically (doing one of these things will not make the glitch work)
4) it's best to order the Key items before doing the glitch (Y button)

Maybe you can point out the places during this, where, if you mess up you MUST restart the whole process, and which parts are recoverable? I ended up full closing / opening BOTW and re-doing it from the first save in the shop and making autosave A and B and so on, 3 times, because I wasn't confident I could restart the process if I messed up in the shop. Was that actually necessary or did I complicate it for myself?
Woohoo! Great to hear it worked. Restarting the game resets IST, so closing the game early any time after you start with the greyed items part would mess it up. That’s also why it’s important to close at the end - the steps we use here get korok seeds, but loading files in a different way or something like that could end in glitched inventory.

It definitely works! Just make sure not to manually save. If you’re playing on switch and you have switch online, I think you can also make a cloud save to back it up.

WARNING: this will make it impossible for you to get more stamina or heart containers. It corrupts the slot that spirit orbs go into, making it impossible to get more than 1.
Nope! That’s definitely a glitch caused by inventory slot transfer, but doing things the way they are done in the video will work 100% of the time. I would try to load an old save or cloud save if this has happened to you, or look up the memory storage glitch for a workaround to get hearts and stamina
@@enluminis it's on my master mode so I'm not really concerned, but I followed step by step and my spirit orbs are stuck at one
Happened the same to me, I can still get spirit orbs but they go to a different slot and I still have a slot with a single orb. And I can’t use them to get more hearts or stamina now :(

Okay for the glitch in the main save
1. equied sword an shield
2. place square bomb
3. sheath them and unequiped sheiled
4. throw bomb if sword gitches with it it worked
5. (equiped sheild) Block and equiped another single hand weapon while blocking
6. keep blocking jump and unblock in the air and it left dpad until you link starts to put sheild away then unequiped shield
7. whistle and talk to merchant, sell items look at your item count if there lower than before you held the item you did it sell the all of the items you're carrying.
load save A
8. Unequiped axe reload x2
9. load B and run to temple of time for save C
10. Load save A x3
11. Load save C then main save check korok seed, if 999 save and enjoy ignoring the stupid koroks 😂❤

One thing to not is when he says Press down on the d-pad to whistle and then immediately press A. Literally press Down on the d pad and A within a fraction of a millisecond after and it should work.
I have the problem that when i jump and let go of zl and use d pad it will drop the items
Amazing video! Just did it after around 10 times of trying, the whistle and talking to the shop owner is the trickiest part.

@@F4D3P4R4D0X yes it 100% still works. I kept not getting the grey item as well but kept trying. You have to be like stupid fast with the whistle and pressing A to talk to the owner. That was the key, just keep trying you’ll get it, it still works 100%
@@F4D3P4R4D0X the next trickiest part is to make sure you select the correct save file, I kept getting extra autosaves while doing the new game section. But just make sure you select the correct one (A,B, and C at the end)
So weird thing here, I messed up during the inventory slot glitch, repeated a couple times from spawning the bomb, and I forgot to whistle talking to the shopkeeper. I then saved, reloaded the game, and the save loading screen showed i had 9 korok seeds instead of 2, but on checking inventory I only had 2. Very strange.
I think the loading screen shows how many you've collected so far, not how many you currently have.

So I did everything but when I reloaded A after unequipping my axe after the merchant whistle glitch, it just deleted the axe from my inventory. :/
Update: the axe replaced my weapon I was holding in the main save. Good thing I used a tree branch!

I would try to wait even longer (like a few minutes) and see if that works. Otherwise, just to double check, you’re on normal mode, right?

I did the glitch again and this time ended up with multiple stacks in my inventory but only in stacks of 1s and 2s and they are stuck there I got 5 on my own but when I go to upgrade my bow slots for instance it tells me I don't have enough. Guess I messed up that save file. 😬

My bad I didn’t read the last part of the tutorial of how to deactivate it. You just need to deactivate it and start the glitch over

the hardest part is that IM IN MASTER MODE I CAN ONLY HAVE 1 MANUAL SAVE AND 1 AUTO SAVE
It will actually still work! For the new file part, you can actually switch to normal mode and then back to your save at the end - this glitch changes the inventory of whatever file you load last

I did everything and in the end after reloading the main save and ended up with 1. I then reloaded the main save again and It turned from 1 seed into 4 invisible orbs. I tried using them at the prayer statue and I just freeze in the cutscene where the heart comes down from the sky. 😂
Uh oh! I’ve run into that issue before. If you haven’t saved, try closing out and reopening. Otherwise, if you’re on switch and you have switch online see if you have a cloud save backup. Hopefully that should get rid of them
You think it would hurt anything if I tried the glitch again and the invisible ones are still in there?
It shouldn’t affect the glitch as far as I know - you should be fine
@@enluminis something similar happened to me but the 2nd try on the glich the auto saves overwrited each other so I couldn't get the auto save A and B, it took me like an hour to make it work properly (kind of)

Definitely... To me this one wasn't too bad but glitches can be super annoying... For this one it's still a lot faster than getting all 900 manually though :)
The bow of light was the longest I did, it took about 2 hours in total.
DUDE IKR?? HAHA HOWEVER, I finally got it man , tried to alter the number of offset slots I had since I didnt have a Spirit Orb -and this is still inconclusive - but I ended up just grabbing a spirit and doing the offset, finally worked. Long story long its worth it to get through it because you're one step closer to having a sort of expertise over this glitch.

Can you help me? I got the temple of time save but when i get the korok and look at it, there was only the shrine of resurrection and the korok save, the tot save was not there
@@yurisantiagosoares5004 Put more time between the saves. I gave each one about 2 minutes of distance, so when you get to the temple of time wait for a bit

Finaly. And this short way. As soon, as i leave great plateo i BLSS glitch to hateno village and i do that glitch. Important part is to sell all items and dresses, so are all items grey (selld dresses i still have them back anywai. At end i had 999 korok seeds. Sorry for bad english.

I had to do it twice because if you already had some seeds it breaks it so go spend them and try again
I did all of these perfectly. But, I got multiple Korok seeds slots.

Hey I’m confused, I keep getting a save file inside the shrine of resurrection, and as I pick up the wood cutters axe and then I only have Save B afterwards? How do I stop the saves?
EDIT: I managed to solve my problem, and to help out with the other problems I had
1) WHY DOES AUTO SAVE A KEEP GETTING ERASED?
Idk I’m not smart but to fix it, after you get the Temple of Time save, without closing your game, go into your system settings and change the date and time to 1 day ahead, go back on the game, and walk over to the Korok auto save, take at least 45 seconds to get there
2) WHY ISNT MY SHIELD APPEARING WHEN I HOLD ZL?
It’s because the person who made the video edited out them equipping a shield, after holding items in your inventory (BEFORE HOLDING ZL) equip a shield with left on the D pad, then hold ZL
3) WHY ISNT THE ITEM GREYED OUT IN THE SHOP?!
If you look like the person does in the video then you’re good but when you press down on the d pad and A, you probably took too long or were too fast, There isn’t a trick just press them both instantly just make sure you press down on the Dpad first, AKA do it again but faster
4) If Zelda marking a point on your map is taking up a save point, run back to the temple of time after loading save B again, (be as fast as possible) and go into your inventory as fast as possible so the cutscene doesn’t play

OH AND DO N O T MANUAL SAVE, IT WILL DELETE YOUR MAIN SAVE, OTHER THEN THAT THIS VIDEO IS LEGIT, THE HARDEST PART IS HOW LONG IT TAKES TO TRADE THE DAMN KOROKS TO HESTU, I RECOMMEND USING A TURBO CONTROLLER IT YOU HAVE IT

I tried this and the 1 x item didn't greyed out. I tried multi shot and the 1 x item greyed out. But I don't get 2 access on the 3rd and even 4th load of file A
I finally got it after multiple times, my problem was that the object that was supposed to be greyed out, wasn't greyed out, what happened was that i had to whistle and press a at the same time, thanks so much
After I messed up the glitch I tried again. I did the steps and went into a new game file, and I saw that I had the travelers medallion and another key item along with the Sheikah Slate. I reloaded my main file and now I have two separate stacks of 1 korok seed. Is there a way to get rid of these?

Not necessarily! I would double check all the steps, since I did it originally in a main save too.
@@enluminis Look i've done this several times and painstakingly, i've even tried generating multiple offsets but nothing, it doesn't work.
@@enluminis In particular it happens that the axe when you reload save A "disappears"
That’s weird…. The offset shouldn’t be an issue (that number is very exact) so I’m not sure! All the same, I and others can definitely confirm it works with more than 3 key items so I hope you figure it out!
