I just replaced the pump in my LGG Dishwasher today. I did not remove the dishwasher from the cabinet or even turn the power off. I did turn the water off to the dishwasher. I unplugged the connector on the pump. I then held the housing (the bottom part) with my right hand and turned the pump clockwise with my left hand. I then took the o-ring off the old pump and put it on the new pump. I put the pump in the housing and turn it counterclockwise. I plugged the connector back in and tested it on the rinse cycle. No OE code and no waster in the dishwasher. There really is no need to pull the dishwsher out of the cabinet.

Life saver! I installed a new garbage disposal and got this error. I had no idea I had to knock out the plastic piece. Thanks so much!

Gotta invert loop the drain hose before the disposal!!!
The drain pump will go out prematurely if that drain hose is not routed correctly. I just did one today.
👍🙂 good video thank you for the upload!

great video and instructions. I had a OE error and could tell the drain pump was going bad on our 5 years old dishwasher. However, I was able to replace the pump without having to remove the dishwasher. A bit tight but can definitely be done. Thanks for the video.

i appreciate you having this out there. I am running onto the same issue and did all the "preliminary" easy steps but they did not fully fix the issue. I figured it may be the pump but hadn't found a straightforward walkthrough like this one. I think i need to change the pump and now feel much better about taking that on. thanks!

Great video and great suggestion about taking the drain pump apart before ordering a new one. Found a piece of broken glass!

Ordered the pump because this is a problem I have had intermittently over the past year. Can't believe the new one didn't come with an o-ring(WTF?). Thanks for the walk through.

Also, if the dishwasher is plugged in underneath, the sink, simply unplug it and leave the cord attached to the dishwasher. Otherwise take the cord off at the front of the dishwasher like this guy did. Never remove the waterline from the dishwasher always take it off underneath the sink and leave it attached to the dishwasher when you pull the dishwasher out. Same thing with the drain line disconnected leave it attached and pull the whole unit out that way when you push it back in you can just feed the lines in through the hole the cabinet and it goes together a lot easier.
One final thing get a couple of cardboard boxes or a trashcan and get rid of all that stuff underneath the sink while you’re working there.

Also check to make sure your drain hose connected to the disposal isn’t clogged
