I ordered a Captains Choice Starry Night scuttle. I am tired of applying cold lather to my face, something has to be done. So, I am upping my game with a scuttle, can't wait to try it out. Everybody else seems to like their scuttles regardless of brand.

Been eye balling the evo 2.0 veteran green and purple.
Merkur 37C is one of my every other daily drivers. I recently ordered the new REX Konsul adjustable. I looked at your review as well as some others and decided it was the best of both worlds. I have a Rockwell 6S that I like, however, having to deal with plates is sometimes inconvenient.
PAA travel scuttle was a Christmas gift and it is great. I needed a plastic scuttle because of my neuropathy. I break what I touch . Ken, your presentation is always a great day in the morning. Thank you. Bought a Gillette reconditioned Red tip from Canada. 20$, best deal I’ve ever had.

Nice shave Ken💈💈 I've got the SS and Copper versions of the PAA DOC Ascension razors, easily two of the most comfortable, smooth and non-aggressive razors I own. With the twist adjust feature, they can be dialed up for efficiency just by unscrewing the handle 1/8th or 1/4th turn. They just look scary😊and the Copper version is even heavier than the SS. Sweet looking scuttle, really like the bigger bowl too. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!

Great shave. I don’t use scuttles, but I got a bowl that wasn’t intended for shaving, but it does a great serviceable job handling the lather from soaps, creams and samples. I don’t use that bowl all the time, but it does hold up the lather well. Have a good one!

Not related to this video, but I don't know how often you ever check your old video comments Ken. I was watching your tribute shave to "James Dean" from 2018. I live and grew up in the town that James Dean was born in. My uncle went to high school with him. I'm about 10 miles from the farm he lived on in Fairmount IN. We have "James Dean Days" festival every fall with a huge classic car rally. I've been to his grave sight, and the museum in Fairmount. I had no idea until seeing that video of yours that you were a James Dean fan. I enjoy the videos, take care. William C. central Indiana.
I picked up the scuttle and the ascension from PAA. I was very pleased to have warm lather on my face from the scuttle. I just wished it came with the cork (they are shipping a cork insert to me very quickly). Finishing up the shave with some Droid Black is the highlight of the shave for me.

Great shave Ken. You can't beat a hot lather shave period. I've got 2 scuttles in my collection myself. My favorite method is an old coffee cup and a small candle warmer.
I boil water in a kettle and put it in my scuttle. Feels great!

Good shave Ken. I got the DOC Ascension Twist stainless for my birthday last Feb. And I love everything about it. Great shaver, feels good in the hands and looks cool as all get out. I'm hoping to pick up one of those scuttles soon too.
Fill it with ice water and use either Frost Byte from PAA or Margarita's in the Arctic from Sterling!!

Hi Ken. To heat up that scuttle you can fill it up with hot water (like you did) but also leave it sitting in the sink full of hot water so that it gets heated from the outside as well. Good to do, then go have a shower, and when you are done showering it is ready to roll. Cheers.

I've been loving my paa starter kit. My only complaint is that the razor clogs a lot. And i wish it were a bit more abrasive. But fine quality. And i may have a mild allergy to the soap. Unless it's normal to burn your face when lathering. Or sting rather, I'll have to try another scent after I'm finished with this sangre de drago. Also got the matching deodorant it doesn't quite hold up to my work schedule. But it's great for off days. Not at all displeased with any of the products though. And their platinum strangelet blades are just wonderful.

Is this razor the “DOC” razor or the “Ascension Select Twist” razor Ken?
Ken I don’t own a PAA razor. I prefer mild razors. Thinking of buying one. From reading Doug’s abbreviated (LOL) descriptions, the DOC is the mild original form of the Ascension Twist came later and is adjustable. What do you recommend?

you are saying wet shaving does allow you to safe a lot of money , haha haha haha I am with wet saving now for almost 3 years and I have spent more than 95 000 pesos = 4500 dollar , haha haha and still buying soaps and razors and brushes etc etc and now I am 74, and I have products for minimum another 20 more years haha haha , the only nice thing is that before I am going to bed , I need almost one hour to decide what soap, razor , brush and blade I will use for tomorrow, so I wake up with pleasure , yes satsuma very nice scent made with mandarinas ( tangerines ),greetings from mexico
