Thank you for this series! Please keep it going. Here are the issues I am running into on my current playthrough. Number 1: Character level 14. I stopped actually leveling up, due to the fact I dont have enough spells. I am scareed to see how many levels I have stored up lol [I have 14 Novice/Apprentice Illusion spells and 23 Novice/Apprentice Alteration spells, but only 4 Novice Destruction spells. I have enough experience but RNG just isnt giving me adept level spells] Number 2: Actual Skill Levels - Alteration/Illusion/Destruction are all over level 55 and quickly becoming too high Number 3: Cannot learn Adept level spells to coincide with my skill level, thus making me not want to increase my character level Number 4: Unable to learn from "Thesis" - I am using Spell Research version 2.2.2, which version do you have? When I select a Thesis from my MISC, nothing happens I love the idea of a bookworm mage, I have 324% Favor with Syrabane due to all of the sleeping+praying, but again not learning the actual spells I need to be able to survive in teh wild. I also have Frostfall+Camping and No Tomes on Vendors. Making it so my Elf must learn themselves while in the wild. I finally broke down and joined the college, specifically so I had an owned bed to sleep in and I didnt have to spend 3 hours a day foraging for the wood to make a fire. Thank you for the deep dive, I have found some enchanted items, and my enchanting is lv 45 due to running only a handful of dungeons. I am interrested to see how the Alchemy side works, as I tried it but when I added poisens it kept telling me "No Fuel" in the cauldron. *Edit: Giving more info. Destruction XP: 1454 Shock XP: 8384 Aim XP: 9054 Fire&Forget XP: 9222 Those are my Experience levels for Adept Archetypes. [Thanks to that enchanted broken mace for that juicy shock lol]. I have tried to make an Adept Destruction spell using all 4 of the archetypes, leaving out the destruction archetype, and leaving out the aim archetype. Any tips?
Hmm... Not being able to gain spell research exp from thesis is a pretty nasty handicap. Let's start there. This is my spell research load order: 1 - Spell Research 2 - Spell Research - Patch Compendium 3 - Spell Research Tweaks and Mercantilism 4 - Odin Spell Research Patches 5 - Spell Research Patch for Triumvirate - Mage Archetypes #2 and #3 are probably your best starting points. See if there's a fix in there you haven't applied yet. Another option is this comprehensive guide. It can unwrap a lot of the alchemy stuff for ya. I have an alchemy video for spell research coming out Wednesday too. It requires more ingredients, but you don't have to sleep when you learn exp for your archetypes :) Last test would be to start a new game with only spell research in play. See if you can study a thesis from there. I have version 2.2.2 as well, so it sounds like we're on the same page there. Good luck!

excellent stuff, this sort of long-form mod review is what I have been looking for. Trust me, it's appreciated

*Facepalm* I forgot about those! I was using them in the enchanting demo and forgot to try applying them in alchemy. Thanks for the reminder!

Apparently the mod author watched this video, because now you can't sell theses.
Late to the party, but it's a separate add-on mod: Spell Research Tweaks and Mercantilism
