A little tip for Dragonhide, it works separately from the armor cap. So if you natively have the Armor Cap, and then cast Dragonhide, the 2 work together for a 97% reduction to physical Damage (Calculation from UESP)! Equilibrium, risky as it is, it's used to great effect by 2 of Skypothesis's Argonian builds (the Shroud of Couldharbor is badass). A Delicate balance of converting HP to magic, and then draining it back with the Touch of Death Spell from CC/AE (Arcane Accessories) Bound Bow isn't where the fun ends, because once you hit 50 Conjuration (and have Anniversary Edition) you can buy Bound Quiver from Phinis at the College. A Lesser power (106 base Magicka to cast) with the Mystic Binding Arrows dealing THIRTY-TWO DAMAGE. And they can be used with any bow! Meaning if you have something like the Bow of Shadows, you can summon your quiver, and then draw the bow to turn invisible! (I hate that Stealth Archery is so OP) In Anniversary Edition, Wrathman actually JUST BARELY Edges out the Dremora lord because of a New Necromantic Grimoir spell and Robe: Conjure Bone Colossus and Necromancer Runic Robes. The 2 of these let you conjure one lesser skeleton (which includes Wrathman, though I'd harly call him "lesser"), so you have a Bone Titan, 4 Wrathmen, and a Permanent Wrathman you can Craft at the Bone Forge in the Gallows Hall playerhome. Necromancy has never been stronger. Funnily enough I use Ice Storm for Utility, Cast a few of these at the Fish hatchery and all of your fish drop in item form (and any Salmon will also drop their Roe). But in AE Destruction has only 1 True Winner: Elemental Blast. Benefits from all 3 Destruction perks, AND the Aspect of Terror Trick that Welsh Wizard brought up for Ignite. It's ludicrously powerful. I use Illusion for RP in my current build, using Call to Arms (and the Battle Fury Shout) for my allies in the Civil War, and Fear and Frenzy on my enemies. Also a note for all the Vampire Dovahkiin (like my previous character), all Illusion spells get a 25% boost, so for all of the final levels of effect that Welsh gave, just add 25%. Also 2 things for Vampire's Bane/Sun Fire, While they don't hold a candle (lol) to Ignite, they have their own uses. Due to not having the Stagger of Impact, there's no need to dual cast them, making them very spammable (lots more damage for a low ammount of Magicka). And neither of these spells hurt living NPCs, so when fighting off a Vampire attack while friendly NPCs are around, you don't need to worry about the splash damage turning everyone hostile. To a Living Being, Sun Fire and Vampire's Bane feel like a warm hug.
Also the poor bound dagger is nerfed by the fact that when dule cast it winds up in the wrong hand. The sneak attack/backstab doesn't seem to work. You need to armor stack the DB hood gloves that increase backstab and be an orc to make it work. So yeah I just stick with the bound bow. It is sad because being a melee mage would be cool. Oh well.
@@theWelshWizard Hi I'm a newcomer to your channel and i think you're pretty entertaining, Although spell absorption is useful for surviving fights against enemy mages or dragons there is one massive problem with the ability, It makes conjuration magic almost impossible. Conjuration is my favourite school of magic and i found that when either having the blessing of the atronach stone, or using the breton's racial power your summoned creatures don't always appear and you have to cast the spell multiple times to get it to work. So that's why i'll only use the atronach stone if i'm not intending to use conjuration for my build.

@@incoralium9211 yep, and true mastery requires the elemental damage enhancement perks, which demands either specialization in one element or a shitload of tedium to farm perks. With the right support perks, I vaporize whole swaths of lesser enemies, and even whole dragons, with the concentrated fire of Lightning Storm. But the real magic comes from using this mage skill overhaul mod I used with the PC back in the day. Use the right perks from that, and you, too, can use Chain Lightning to send the Stormcloaks packing from atop the outer gates of Whiterun, before they so much as shatter a barricade 😆.
I don't like the Firestorm and Blizzard spells, too situational. I did use a combination of invisibility, sneaking, and a Firestorm scroll in Meridia's temple to duplicate Dawnbreaker before, but it's possible that you don't actually need a sudden explosion centered on the pedestal behind Malkoran to trick the game to dupe the item. Never tried it without using Firestorm, saying "hello, there!" with an to the necro and his goons with an explosion is much too fun 😆.
According to my TH-cam gaming recap, I was in the top .1% of Welsh Wizards viewers. I love the rewatchability and high production values of these videos. Keep up the great work. Easily one of the best TH-cam channels I’ve encountered in the last 3-5 years
thewelshwizard? Im not trying to be rude but when you talked about shock you forgot to mention that dragons need magica to breathe fire and shout so with lightning all they can do is melee
Yeah, lightning as an element blows both the others out of the water. Not only is it the only element with only 1 enemy immune to it, nothing resists it more than other elements. (Named dragons all have flat 50% to all elements). It drains magicka, which prevents a ton of enemies from using unique traits (blighted can’t vomit either, for example) It’s hit-scan, meaning if an enemy is moving, no need to lead your shots (though not as common).
The courage line works on all allies, like guards, fellow soldiers, etc. And it has a secret bonus: cast it on game animals like stags and they won't run away
One thing that I found super helpful when playing vanilla skyrim is that deadthralls can act as mobile infinite storage containers, clear out an area, find a target, but ALL the gear from the entire area in his inventory and then raise him. Yeah, you can do something similar with a follower but this is MUCH easier
great for picking up dwemer cogs in their ruins, i'd carry out hundreds of them to the village using thralls, also some pretty strong enemies could be turned into thralls, idk why welsh shat on the spell
@@ROBODGames What? /What/? You mean to tell me having to wait for your slow follower to catch up to you, then go through like 3 lines of dialogue, then try to perfectly give them items that they may even decide to put on and wear, so that you can hit the carry cap perfectly, is more convenient than using a body as a chest and then reviving it? It is literally less inconvenient to just use Beast Form and run to your homestead. Something I do a lot.
For me, the most useful Alteration Spell is magelight because I use it as the ultimate trap defusing spell. Magelight triggers pressure plates, trip wires, runes, and can blast through the wall in Saarthal. Another combo I like doing is Dragonhide and Bound Battleaxe where I literally turn myself into a berserker in the dwemer ruins. Another trick I learn is that turn undead is like making infinite Fus shouts at the stronger undead which they stagger while you're spamming firebolts at it. Finally, when I feel like soloing a cave, I use muffle, invisibility and then firestorm all the bears and trolls in one shot. That speed things up real fast. Vanilla spells are a lot of fun in the right hands.
@27:50 "illusion of safety" is my favorite Thrice album! lol thanks for the continued Skyrim content, btw, i started a new file for the first time in years recently and I'm having so much fun binging videos while I play.
two things to mention about the master illusion spells is that becoming a vampire will solve the low level they work on to an extent. Another thing is that they go through walls and the aoe is really big so they definitely still have their place.
Cool protip about courage/rally spells: They kill your companions. Most companions are "protected" and only die if hit by player damage, but rally spells count as player damage, so if you hit a companion with rally and they reach 0 HP they die rather than getting downed. They're not worth using.
I’m playing through Skyrim for the first time since it’s on gamepass and I’m glad people are still making videos on this decade old game for people who are new like me
The big issue with magic in vanilla Skyrim is Destruction is pretty much useless for damage at high difficulties. Without the Summermyst mod to add the amplify destruction enchantment, you top out at Lightning Storm being the strongest spell in the game for outright killing things, and it only sits at a little over 100 damage a second. It's better to just spam healing spells, summons, or abuse the most overpowered magic in the game, illusion, to cheese everything and functionally render nearly anything in the game passive.
Try the elemtal blast spell the spell does 40 damge of shock and fire as well as 20 damage os ice but heres the kicker when u grab any of the augmented perks it increases each of these not just the one it says AND there multiplicative. I was doing over 900 damage for like 30 magicka in base skyrim its busted as hell and thats not even dual casting.
I agree. In vanilla Skyrim, the most use I get out of destruction is the perk that staggers enemies when you dual cast… which is only useful so your summons can deal damage without getting smacked lol
Here is my list of most overpowered spells in the base game. 1. Destruction - Ignite 2. Restoration - Grand Healing 3. Conjuration - Dead Thrall 4. Illusion - Invisibility 5. Alteration - Dragonhide Ps. If you are still doubting me then check out the spells description, and the power up with vampire + necromage perk bonuses.
Those same bonus you have mentioned to boost dragon flesh also boosts ebony flesh to a point that the slightly better damage reduction from dragon flesh simply becomes not worth it due to the increased cast time.and reduced duration. Most of the master spells are just increased hassle and expert spells are usually simpler to stick to.
Lightning storm - a constant hitscan stunlock wth a decent damage and mana damage. By the way, detect dead is really useful to search for enemy corpses after the fight. Harmony is also amazing to grind levels - just use it at the center of a market
You've really opened my eyes to how versatile I could be with my magic in Skyrim. I always invest in all of it, but my mind has a hard time finding creative ways to use them.
Dang it....I just deleted Skyrim to make room for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Sith Edition. Now I want to re-download Skyrim again and take over Harkons clan and lead them like Sanguinious did his Blood Angels.
Elemental Blast with all Augmented Flames/Frost/Shock perks and Aspect of Terror + Touch of Death + Fortify Destruction potions = Force to be Reckoned With!
I learned more in this video about a game i have sunk easily 5000+ hours in than in probably the sum total of the last 1000 I watched from other creators. Sebscribed immediately.
You must have so much fun writing your scripts. All the Elder Scrolls based figurative language you use is awesome and hilarious at every turn. I'll give you a counterpoint to the cloak spells though; If only Whirlwind Cloak was affected by Destruction perks. Because I think it's a very fun spell to use, especially if you're recharging the Unrelenting Force & Cyclone shouts, it yields a similar effect. Amazing video! Really makes me want to go back and replay Skyrim now lol 👏💖
I was jumped by two Lurker Guardians in apocrypha and used ash shell so I could deal with them one at a time. It also opens a nice window to place runes around an enemy while they’re frozen.
26:00 there may be a point for mayhem being stronger in this case because it'll pre-clean a dungeon for you with its massive range. Making all combat encounters 1 on 1s there on
This guy's mage videos have been a research point for my first all mage build in 8 years. I've tried half mage builds, where I just build a warrior and focus on destruction and alteration schools, but because of this guy I've actually managed to build a full mage who only relies on a sword, shield, and bow when enemies can resist certain spells *(like paralysis, frost magics, and the occasional enemy who wants to "Fight fair")*
i like how you don't rank these in a vacuum. i've seen ranking videos by other people for different games and some of them don't mention or consider synergies or buffs with other items, game mechanics, abilities, etc
im a simple mage, i max enchantment then enchant my stuff to reduce the magic cost of destruction and restoration spells to 0, infinite healing and spamming that massive lightning cannon spell.
I like what apocalypse spells does to restoration spells. After taking certain perks your healing hands can inflict damage to all creatures, not just undead.
one thing you didn't mention with Ignite. It has been the case, at least for me, that this spell can stun enemies endlessly. It practical, if not literally, stuns the enemy 100% of the time. This makes staking the spell on an enemies so much more easier, and with how cheep it is to cast, you can quite highly likely cast them 4 - 5 times with no investment in destruction magic.
I personally really like Magelight over torches. Like, yes, torches are a lot easier to get, but you can get candlelight in Riverwood easily enough anyways The important part is that it frees up a hand since you don’t have to hold the torch, which I find much more important lmao
Heres an interesting fact about courage spells if you cast them on animals like deer rabbits basically anything that runs away from you they will instead try to rush you. It is a cheap way to ensure your prey doesn't escape.
Hey, for Alteration, the actual best paralysis spell is Paralysis Rune. Here's why: First, it's a hitscan spell. This may not seem important now, but it'll be important because it compounds with the other factors. Second, it is an AOE. It can paralyze multiple opponents, which is especially useful in melee range since you can cast it before they reach you. Third, it can activate from damaging spells. The best combo I've found for this is Paralysis Rune + Chain Lightning. The Chain Lighting activates the Rune (both of them occur instantly because they are hitscan attacks), causing it's AOE effect, and causing the chain lightning to hit a nearby enemy. Paralysis Rune is extremely powerful and should not be overlooked as anything but the most powerful Rune spell in the game.
Simple tip my friends, use the potion of restoration glitch to beef up your potions so that when you enchant something you can make your magic regenerate over 1 million times faster literally
This seems unnecessary though. The fortify alchemy (enchant equipment)-> fortify enchantment (potion) ->fortify alchemy (enchant equipment) -> fortify smithing or enchantment (potion) cycle can lead to some pretty strong equipment without actually breaking the game.
Welsh, for circle of protection use vampirism with necromage perk combined with atronach perk and stone its better then guardian circle any day. Its because circle of protection sees you as undead. Had good results on regular game with dlc's.
AE OP Also, I think you might have overlooked the versatility of Dead Thrall. Used in the right target, optionally with a bit of prep on the corpse, it can be of huge help.
15:43 ok the only way i can think of as to why it ups the damage at all and works in such an odd way is its treating the +10 to spell level maximum as fire damage , and the formula would have to go “augmented flame apply +50% fire damage to (+10 spell level aspect of terror )” but if you get aspect of terror first it would go +10 pell level aspect of terror ,augmented flame apply +50% fire damage to ( ) As for why it would work like this my guess is that the way they have fear effects work is its a damage type that does 0 damage to the opponents health but checks the targets level and if the fear damage is greater then or equal to the enemy’s level it applies the fear effect. With the fear damage value being equal to the maximum level of creature they can effect Now fire damage is also counted as fear damage but instead of using different variable they used the same ones so the values are counted as fear and fire thus any modification to one modifies both thus the reason why aspect of terror affects ignite at all Tldr fire damage is also fear damage thus the formula for augmented flames first is Fire damage = (4+50%)+(10+50%) And aspect of terror would be Fire damage = (4+50%)+10 +0(50%)
I learned a lot from this video I always thought the magic schools were useless except for conjuration and destruction but illusion and restoration surprised me alot
Personally, I prefer standard Paralyze over the Mass version. Faster, cheaper (bit less than half the cost), easier to access (it's Expert not Master) and you can more specifically target the foe you want. Mass Paralyze is only useful in specific situations. Mass Paralysis is overpowered in a general sense, but in the same way that bazooka is; useful if you absolutely need to deal with a large group [that is in spitting distance]. It's too unwieldy and indiscriminate to be the preferred option usually, I think. Dragonhide makes sense in vanilla, but I have a mod that adds the spell Ocato's Recital, which allows me to select 3 spells that get added at the start of combat, and a -flesh spell is one of my go-tos. Ebonyflesh + Mage Armor Perk maxed out is a solid 300 damage reduction I think. A bit more than half of Dragonhide, so still good, and it costs me no time and effort, so yay for mods and stuff I guess. Huh, seems I've been using the Wall spells wrong. I assumed you were supposed to cast them on the ground, but seems they work really well when cast directly on the target, eh?
Lol I'm almost done with Arniel's quest so I can finally get that summoning spell but I didn't know about Stendarr's armor omg that would be very helpful in the dungeons 😂 thank you
I always say Magelight is OP, but that's because I use it to trip traps, throw Dragon skeletons off the mountain or break the wall in the Sarthaal quest.
The issue with absorbing the circle of protection is because of a strange interaction. If you are inside the aoe of a friendly spell (other than one of the turn undead circles), it breaks your ability to absorb from the circle spells. This means you need to be careful not to cast your own aoe spells too close to you or be in the radius of a conjured storm atronach's lightning explosion thing, as an example. The only way to fix it that I'm aware of is to get hit by an enemy's aoe. That re-enables your ability to absorb the circle spells. It's a bit finicky, but some may consider it worth the hassle.
Equilibrium is great for power leveling magic skills, especially on a character that isn't a mage and you just want the perk points. And it is particularly useful for leveling up restoration before getting the circle spells. EDIT: Personally I love the utility of fireball being easier to hit far away targets with its splash damage, even single targets. Combined with quiet casting, and slow time, both of which are easy to get, You can blast an entire enemy encampment from the high ground before they know which way is up, all while remaining hidden. The fact that it gets boosted by aspect of terror in addition to the perks it is supposed to gain damage from on top of the fact it is the cheapest magika cost makes it my clear winner for adept. I'd like to make mention of stendarr's aura. It says it does 10 SUN damage to the undead. Sun damage does additional damage to the undead. So that 10 actually translates to 30. So it's even more effective at its job of killing undead than you stated.
Thanks for great video ! i love my spellcasting for 1 more utility ; powerleveling ! I would hate to get inferior level of legendary item so I often level up to 50 or 60 using spammable magic .
Ice storm is the best adept spell. Magic velocity is affected by player velocity, meaning that if you move backwards as you cast it, the spell creeps forward slower. This spell deals per second damage, in addition to being boosted by the impact perk(aoe stagger) and dual casting (x2.2 damage). The net result is 176 -264 damage per cast in a large area, slowing and staggering enemies. You can boost damage further with destruction perks and dragonpriest masks. It simply doesn't matter that like half of enemies have frost resistance.
you have forgotten about using the fortify magic school potions as they also affect spells. healing, damage, duration, and the max level a spell can effect can be increased with these potions. to give an example it is possible with a master level illusion spell you can make the level 60 dragon priest flee from combat
This is a detsiled video! I think this i thr answer (best spell in general for most build): Alteration: Dragonhide Restoration: Grand healing Illusion: Pacify Conjuration: Conjure Dremora Lord Destruction: Elemental fury
I'mma have to disagree on the Conjuration ranged summons, since you neglected to mention that dual casting the Storm Atronach increases its' duration unlike Arniels' Shade, and with the skilltrees' perks it'll allow you to summon two long lasting, very tanky, high damage bodyguards for the enemy to focus on while you sit back and watch them mop the floor with basically anything aside from the strongest of foes which are usually the bosses, thus in my opinion it makes them much better and more useful then Arniels' Shade by quite a large margin.
Spoon of Disquieting: modded enchanted rusty spoon that inflicts the following curses upon those struck with the blunt end: 1. An irritating maddening noise emits from the body for several hours, causing the inflicted to flee or flounder about in vain attempts to escape the sound 2.All equipped items weapons and armor attached to the victim except their undergarments gradually phase through their body to fall to the ground 3. Fear effect applied in stacking with the noise madness, both lasting equally several hours
1:50 i love paralyze so much. If you cant cast it, you fan brew a poison of it very easily and consistently grow the ingredients. Fun fact, the death blow dealt with poison of paralyze will freeze the enemy for ever
i must say i'ver been watching TheWelshWizard for a while now and he has to be one of the best people to explain stuff and i would like to see what mods he use cause it awesome
Equilibrium is basically a restoration training spell. Use it to deplete your health, cast your most expensive heal spell, then refill the magicka you just used while depleting your health again with Equilibrium. Repeat ad nauseam until you max out Restoration. (Or until unlock the necromage perk, as nothing afterwards is worth it, in my opinion)
I prefer to use full cost reduction for spells since I tend to perk heavily in stamina for the weight carry boost and while telekinesis is fairly useless outside of grabbing loot from across the room with full cost reduction it is perfect for power leveling and getting perk points for all your skills
There are a few op spells in conjuration that you missed. My most commonly used spells: *bone colossus- not only does it summon a bone colossus, but it allows you to summon 2 additional skellies. I usually use skeleton warlocks. *dark seducers & golden saints. Especially Staada, who is a more powerful golden saint *ancient deathpriest. Splits into 3 tortured shades when defeated Pretty sure these are all from DLC, but so is the ash spawn, so I figured they still count
I used to play a mage with a spell of one of every school in a setup before a fight: 1. Slow Time shout. 2. Dragon Hide. 3. Frenzy. 4. Storm Atronach (x2). 5. Chain Lighting dual cast. 6. Close Wound if needed.
the use case for equilibrium is, funnily enough, grinding magic xp. You can hold it and a healing spell down and get infinite restoration and alteration xp quickly. You can use detect life in a big city, or use it to quickly top up magicka to cast another calm spell on an npc

@Shanecoulson20If you're on PC, you can simply mod it out. The game is too buggy not to.
I didn't know you could bounce chain lightning off of surfaces! That definitely makes it so much cooler and allows for some fun tactical play!
I love the fact people are still uploading Skyrim so many years later that’s how you know it’s a legendary game
It just hits different. Not lkke Dark Souls. 😂
That may also be because Elder Scrolls 6 still isn't out after 13 years.
@tcrobot exactly. Bethesda peaked years ago
@@Subject_Keterboth are legendary games, if you want an immersive rpg experience, Skyrim. But if you want to experience amazing combat with amazing characters, Dark Souls.
I find it somewhat ironic that in many ways the "master level" spells are either much weaker than lesser magic or completely useless.
It's like the magic in mushoku tensei basically
magic is about mastery, not powerful casts.
I wake up> i see the welsh wizard posted> im a happy boy for the day

According to my TH-cam gaming recap, I was in the top .1% of Welsh Wizards viewers. I love the rewatchability and high production values of these videos. Keep up the great work. Easily one of the best TH-cam channels I’ve encountered in the last 3-5 years
How did you even get a recap?
@ it just popped up when I’m scrolling. I think it might be because I’m a TH-cam premium member

What’s really impressive, is the amount of comparisons made in this video, what a legend 😂🔥🔥
thewelshwizard? Im not trying to be rude but when you talked about shock you forgot to mention that dragons need magica to breathe fire and shout so with lightning all they can do is melee
they need magicka to fly too i think. i like to use lingering damage magicka poisons on my bow to get dragons to land
Yeah, lightning as an element blows both the others out of the water.
Not only is it the only element with only 1 enemy immune to it, nothing resists it more than other elements. (Named dragons all have flat 50% to all elements).
It drains magicka, which prevents a ton of enemies from using unique traits (blighted can’t vomit either, for example)
It’s hit-scan, meaning if an enemy is moving, no need to lead your shots (though not as common).
@@jastermereel4946 should be stamina to fly
The courage line works on all allies, like guards, fellow soldiers, etc. And it has a secret bonus: cast it on game animals like stags and they won't run away
One thing that I found super helpful when playing vanilla skyrim is that deadthralls can act as mobile infinite storage containers, clear out an area, find a target, but ALL the gear from the entire area in his inventory and then raise him. Yeah, you can do something similar with a follower but this is MUCH easier
How is this much easier than just looting like normal and give to a follower? Seems like a lot more extra work if you ask me.
@@ROBODGamesfollowers have a limit to carry cap.
great for picking up dwemer cogs in their ruins, i'd carry out hundreds of them to the village using thralls, also some pretty strong enemies could be turned into thralls, idk why welsh shat on the spell
This is so much faster than telling your follower to pick things up one by one! Thank you!
I just love all the random comparisons in this video
two things to mention about the master illusion spells is that becoming a vampire will solve the low level they work on to an extent.
Interesting! It’s a good idea to get a mod like TrueHUD in that case. That way, you can monitor your followers health and cast Grand Healing
Not true
Yeah you have to mod it for destruction to even do anything bro 😢😢
1. Destruction - Ignite
2. Restoration - Grand Healing
3. Conjuration - Dead Thrall
4. Illusion - Invisibility
5. Alteration - Dragonhide
Ps.
I love how I was just thinking about watching a Welsh Wizard video while I enjoy some snacks, and then I see this video in my feed.
Bloody good show! Finished work and I come back to a shiny new wizard upload!
Yes please to the AE spellpacks. AE op! Love your stuff wizard!
I needed someone to breakdown all the spells. You've improved my wall mage's effectiveness hugely.
The real use for dead thrall is to have basically a chest follow you around with all the stuff you can't carry.
Dang it....I just deleted Skyrim to make room for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Sith Edition.
Now I want to re-download Skyrim again and take over Harkons clan and lead them like Sanguinious did his Blood Angels.
The original version was better (Star wars: the old Republic)

All the beautiful analogies; that's half the reason I watch your vids!
"I'll rip your spine out through your nostrils" gave me a good laugh, that visual is so over the top gore it's funny.
Lets go an otger amazing good Quality video.
The more magicka videos the better fellow wizard.
Man, I must be so lucky to wake up only an hour after you uploaded
I always thought if equilibrium had a better conversion rate it could have been a good blood mage, maybe even vampire roleplaying tool.
im a simple mage, i max enchantment then enchant my stuff to reduce the magic cost of destruction and restoration spells to 0, infinite healing and spamming that massive lightning cannon spell.
Heck yea, another WelshWizard vid.
Like, yes, torches are a lot easier to get, but you can get candlelight in Riverwood easily enough anyways
The important part is that it frees up a hand since you don’t have to hold the torch, which I find much more important lmao
Dead Thrall is insane if you can reanimate a strong corpse especially those high end mages.
You forgot to mention that as a vampire, it also gives you restoration levels for circle of protection
Heres an interesting fact about courage spells if you cast them on animals like deer rabbits basically anything that runs away from you they will instead try to rush you. It is a cheap way to ensure your prey doesn't escape.
Flame cloak while using strong destruction potions and you can clear out a dungeon several rooms away.
Nothing's truer than this😂
Would you ever considering making a series covering as many mage playstyles for both vanilla and modded Skyrim?
Not just blowing smoke, this is the best channel.
Appreciate you!
Great video! But you forgot the Muffle and Invisibility spells from the Illusion School, you might need to add another subcategory.
Hey, for Alteration, the actual best paralysis spell is Paralysis Rune. Here's why:
First, it's a hitscan spell.
AE OP
Also, I think you might have overlooked the versatility of Dead Thrall. Used in the right target, optionally with a bit of prep on the corpse, it can be of huge help.
Gruaaagh
15:43 ok the only way i can think of as to why it ups the damage at all and works in such an odd way is its treating the +10 to spell level maximum as fire damage , and the formula would have to go “augmented flame apply +50% fire damage to (+10 spell level aspect of terror )” but if you get aspect of terror first it would go +10 pell level aspect of terror ,augmented flame apply +50% fire damage to ( )
As for why it would work like this my guess is that the way they have fear effects work is its a damage type that does 0 damage to the opponents health but checks the targets level and if the fear damage is greater then or equal to the enemy’s level it applies the fear effect. With the fear damage value being equal to the maximum level of creature they can effect
Now fire damage is also counted as fear damage but instead of using different variable they used the same ones so the values are counted as fear and fire thus any modification to one modifies both thus the reason why aspect of terror affects ignite at all
Tldr fire damage is also fear damage thus the formula for augmented flames first is
Fire damage = (4+50%)+(10+50%)
And aspect of terror would be
Fire damage = (4+50%)+10 +0(50%)
I love how you have your outfit in Skyrim that's sick!
I’d definitely love to see a video on the anniversary edition.
these videos have been making me want to play an actual mage playthrough
greetings fellow wizards
Greetings! 🧙♂️
Lol I'm almost done with Arniel's quest so I can finally get that summoning spell but I didn't know about Stendarr's armor omg that would be very helpful in the dungeons 😂 thank you
There’s more similes in this video than an entire poetry textbook
I rejoice the day when finally Wizard has accomplished his destiny and fate - to discuss what are the most OP spells he has in his arsenal
Thanks for watching man and thank you for your kind donation! 🧙♂️
Definitely agree, the master spells of basically every skill need a massive overhaul to be worth it
you have forgotten about using the fortify magic school potions as they also affect spells. healing, damage, duration, and the max level a spell can effect can be increased with these potions. to give an example it is possible with a master level illusion spell you can make the level 60 dragon priest flee from combat
Flaming familiar is like a keep seeking missiles once they lock onto a target they will bite it and explode
This is a detsiled video! I think this i thr answer (best spell in general for most build):
Alteration: Dragonhide
Restoration: Grand healing
Illusion: Pacify
Conjuration: Conjure Dremora Lord
Destruction: Elemental fury
I'mma have to disagree on the Conjuration ranged summons, since you neglected to mention that dual casting the Storm Atronach increases its' duration unlike Arniels' Shade, and with the skilltrees' perks it'll allow you to summon two long lasting, very tanky, high damage bodyguards for the enemy to focus on while you sit back and watch them mop the floor with basically anything aside from the strongest of foes which are usually the bosses, thus in my opinion it makes them much better and more useful then Arniels' Shade by quite a large margin.
Spoon of Disquieting: modded enchanted rusty spoon that inflicts the following curses upon those struck with the blunt end:
1. An irritating maddening noise emits from the body for several hours, causing the inflicted to flee or flounder about in vain attempts to escape the sound
2.All equipped items weapons and armor attached to the victim except their undergarments gradually phase through their body to fall to the ground
[AE OP] As a fellow spellcaster I would love to see a video on the other spells!
Love these videos Wizard! What mod are you using to get health bars and stuff above enemies heads? its so cool looking and useful.
Thanks man! That would be TrueHUD
i must say i'ver been watching TheWelshWizard for a while now and he has to be one of the best people to explain stuff and i would like to see what mods he use cause it awesome
Who else wants to bet the best 'restoration' spell is poison rune?
My baby was done diddley dirty 😔
He sure was 😅 shame it doesn't work on lots of enemies
Good point. For those wondering how this works, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/kunLPLvYm7Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BUz6Out4UsDRyI93
In the Master Destruction spells defence, Lightning Storm is the best way to bring down dragons
Damn it! This video is tempting me to reinstall Skyrim when I’m already working on my backlog as well as playing Oblivion for the first time.
19:38 I really want you to dissect the most overpowered spells in the Anniversary Edition!
It's crazy how people are still making Skyrim contents despite the game has been out for over a decade
What is your graphic modlist?
If you counted alchemy then the fortify restoration would 100% be the best given the glitch that lets you make potions with insane buffs.
There are a few op spells in conjuration that you missed. My most commonly used spells:
*bone colossus- not only does it summon a bone colossus, but it allows you to summon 2 additional skellies. I usually use skeleton warlocks.
*dark seducers & golden saints. Especially Staada, who is a more powerful golden saint
*ancient deathpriest. Splits into 3 tortured shades when defeated
Pretty sure these are all from DLC, but so is the ash spawn, so I figured they still count
I used to play a mage with a spell of one of every school in a setup before a fight:
1. Slow Time shout.
2. Dragon Hide.
3. Frenzy.
4. Storm Atronach (x2).
5. Chain Lighting dual cast.
6. Close Wound if needed.
What is that floating heath-bar mod that you use called?
TrueHUD
@ Thank you.
Ah fun video ngl lol, you pretty entertaining wizard man.
the use case for equilibrium is, funnily enough, grinding magic xp. You can hold it and a healing spell down and get infinite restoration and alteration xp quickly. You can use detect life in a big city, or use it to quickly top up magicka to cast another calm spell on an npc
I paused to video so I can write this. This is a very good video. Subscibed and liked!
