    Big fan of this band. Great video! My ranking:
    1. Slave To The Grind (one of my favorite albums in general)
    2. Skid Row (massive fan of this too)
    3. The Gang's All Here (glad I wasn't the only one who places this high already)

    Number one actually is a surprise to me! I got into skid row late! They did a tour with zp and I thought it’d be cool to see a big named rock band from 80’s/90’s. I got some of there albums (everything except thick skin) and to me slave to the grind was no question there best! Still think it’s easily there best! I’d put debut #2 and the new one Number 3! Ps I think you have the best rock channel on you tube by far! You are very well spoken,very informative and you know your stuff and I love all your content like the record store videos and music news! Well done!!!

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the content so much. As for Skid Row, I can see how Slave To The Grind might stand up better today as it’s got less of the Glam Metal sound and doesn’t squarely root it in the 80’s. I think for people that find the band later often time Slave will be their favorite. But for those of us that discovered the band during their debut, it was such a huge record at the time and seemingly everywhere so it’s super engrained in our lives despite being rooted in the 80’s.

      Not as much call for a Bach solo ranking… but just for kicks, here would be my order of the 3 studio albums:
      #3 - Kicking & Screaming
      #2 - Give ‘Em Hell
      #1 - Angel Down
      As for the side project Last Hard Men it’s very strange and not good at all IMO. If you want a cool Bach side project check out Frameshift album An Absence Of Empathy. It’s has a progressive metal feel but Bach is all over it.

    Great vid. My ranking follows yours. I still remember buying Subhuman Race on release day & listening with my best friend. We were both looking at each other saying "what the heck is this?" 🤣🤣. It's grown on me a bit over time. Also bought Slave to The Grind on release day but that's a hole different story filled with lots of headbanging. And more recently I bought the new one on release day & it is awesome. To me it's a great blend of the first 2 albums & is full of energy. Looking forward to more from this line-up, as I don't miss Sebastian being here with such a great replacement vocalist. The 3 EPs (BSide Ourselves, United World Rebellion - Chapter 1, & Rise of the Damnation Army-United World Rebellion-Chapter 2) are also great listens.

      @@BrendonSnyder yes, a lot of bands stopped putting out albums (or slowed down their album releases) after Napster and concentrated more on touring to bring money in, record companies caught up and now sign new bands to 360 contracts so they get money from the tour and the merchandising)... the covid lockdown took that revenue stream away and combined with the vinyl (and now CD and cassette resurgence - thanks to TH-camrs like you and 80's style TV and movies like Stranger Things) they went back into the studio (or recorded remotely) and are putting out new material again. so it's a win-win for the bands and the fans and at least something good to come out of covid.

    Brendon, long time viewer, who stepped away for a while. Good to see that you are doing great with the videos! I have to agree with you ranking RPM last but that is sadly where we part.
    1. Slave to the Grind- epic hard and melodic rock. Sebastian was really belting it out here.
    2. Subhuman Race- Just insane how heavy this is and I think it is very much one of their best written albums.
    3. Skid Row- melodic and edgy. Sebastian’s voice is really good here. Just a bit too much 80s sounding.
    4. The Gang’s all Here- wow! What a return to form. New vocalist kills and Bolan is playing out of his mind. Great album!
    5- Thickskin- I was never a fan of Solinger, but this album has some good moments, but can’t get past his voice.
    6- RPM, A real stinker. I can’t make one good comment about this album.

    When Subhuman Race came out, I found it almost unlistenable apart from a few tracks, due to the heavyness. But as heavy metal/rock music moved on in different genres since 95 and became more extreme and heavier, that album doesn't sound as heavy now. Its a much easier listen and I really like it. Also agree that Thickskin is a great album. The summary of Revolutions was spot on and made me laugh, what the hell happened with that!? What were they thinking?

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m was dumbfounded the first time I listened to RPM… it’s just so far removed from anything sounding like Skid Row. To this day I can’t do it. I exclude it when I think of their catalogue. Should have been a side project and not a Skid Row album. I’m quite sure it was their attempt to reinvent themselves and be relevant again but they made a huge misstep getting rid of their classic sound.

    I really like the new Skid Row album. Reminds me of their debut release. The last few to me were a bit of a snooze fest. The new vocalist though sounds great, the songs are tight, and the guitar players actually cut loose and show their chops. Great stuff!

    If a person has a job and don't get along with his/her collegues, and that creates lot's of conflicts, then in most cases that person would be fired. Why shouldn't that be the same within music? Or if you have a job and want to do something new and different, then why be forced to stay? Those screaming for Bach, no matter how great that era of Skid Row was, should direct their attention towards his solo career instead :) (My view of demanding ex-members to be braught back into a band). Btw - I don't mean any disrespect at all (as we are all different people), but I can't stand their debut. I only like the closing track Midnight/Tornado :) Slave To the Grind, to a large part Subhuman Race (all though there are some bad stuff on it as well) and to my big surprise, The Gang's All Here on the other hand are kick ass albums imo :) Thanks for a cool vid :)

      I got news for you…guns n roses were Glam Metal too. You didn’t have to wear makeup to be Glam Metal. Glam Metal has more to do with a style and sound than just a look. You’re thinking of Sleeze Rock.

      @@BrendonSnyder dude…were you around back then? Guns N Roses was called the band that killed glam metal. Hair metal got so bloated and when GNR came out they brought a 70’s hard rock mixed with 80’s metal sound to them. Anyone who lived back then knows this. They literally talked about it on MTV and radio stations and magazines how GNR killed the bloated Hair/Glam Metal scene. They were 100% NOT in that category. They were more Aerosmith then Motley Crue or Cinderella.

      Yes I was around and that’s why I know. I’m speaking from first hand experience. And I’ve never heard GNR referred to as the band that killed Glam Metal. Incidentally Glam Metal thrived for 4 more years after GNR hit the scene. Now, I’ve heard Nirvana referred to as the band that killed Glam Metal. I think you’re mixing up your music knowledge a bit.
