Hey Brendon, Appetite is the finest EVER debut album and in my top 5 albums. Love it. Rocket Queen & Paradise City are my favourites, but the whole thing is incredible. Timeless.
I don’t think my ranking is that contrarian...but people may be surprised where I rank Chinese Democracy. 6. The Spaghetti Incident? All covers, I do enjoy their versions of New Rose, Hair of the Dog and Raw Power. But not much else. 5. Lies double EP. I will include it. I do enjoy a lot of the songs on it like Patience, One in a Million despite the controversy over the lyrics, and the acoustic version of You’re Crazy. I play it far more often than Spaghetti. 4. Use Your Illusion I. I do think these two albums have a lot of filler and there’s more filler on the first one. I like songs like Dust n Bones, Double Talkin Jive and Coma. But I find a lot of songs on this one dull and uninspired. Unpopular opinion maybe, I hate November Rain. 3. Use Your Illusion II. It ranks above the first one because I love Civil War, Yesterdays, Locomotive, You Could Be Mine and Pretty Tied Up as some of the best songs on the UYI releases, and Get In The Ring is a fun ‘diss’ song. Great cover of the Dylan track, thats one that divides opinion but I like it. 2. Chinese Democracy. Some people may be amazed where I rank this. But I think its massively underrated. I think there was a feeling of anti climax after waiting for it for so long and maybe it would have been better labelled as an Axl solo album. But I just really enjoy it. ‘There Was A Time’ is my favourite song, great guitar solo on that- not sure if its Buckethead playing that or not. I think this is a superb album that people should revisit and give another chance if you decided long ago you didn’t like it. 1. Appetite for Destruction. It has to be. An absolute classic, one of the best debut albums of all time and one of the first rock albums I ever bought. My love for this album has never diminished over the years.

My ranking: 1 Appetite For Destruction 2 Use Your Illusion I 3 Use Your Illusion II 4 G’n’R Lies 5 Chinese Democracy 6 The Spaghetti Incident . Btw, “Appetite” comes from another planet. Too wonderful to compete with the others.
Appetite is beyond any other for sure. For me it was not even a question. Still there are people placing it in the 2nd and 3rd spots. Interesting how people rank it. I think it has to do with when people got into the band.
My ranking from worst to best: 6. The Spaghetti Incident? Not a bad selection of covers, but it’s on the bottom of my list as it feels a bit more like covers done on karaoke in places, but there are decent covers, on it, but not an album that I listen to as much. 5. GNR Lies: I know it’s a double EP CD, but I do like many of the songs on here, especially the acoustic songs which are nice, but my issue with this album is that the production is a bit bland and dull, but it’s alright to listen to. 4. Chinese Democracy Yeah, it’s underrated as all hell, but for me, I like many of the songs, but I find it a bit boring in places and I often feel like it has been overdone with it’s production and the abundance of additional musicians is atrocious in places, but overall, there are many great songs on it, but I wished it could be better. 3. Use Your Illusion II This album is brilliant, but I agree with your points on saying that both of them are a bit long winded and that, but I think this one is decent, and I love many of the songs on it, and I think it suits well, but I love many of the songs on it as well. 2. Appetite For Destruction Yes, it’s a classic from the 80’s, and I love it, but as an album, it does have a couple of issues, especially with some of the lyrics and some of the songs haven’t particularly aged well, but as a classic album it’s fantastic and is well loved. 1. Use Your Illusion I This has to be my favourite GNR album, with great classics and I love their ‘Live And Let Die’ cover, and it has many personal favourites on it, and I enjoy it more than ‘Appetite’ but it often swaps about from time to time and they are all great songs on here, and that’s why it’s number one on my list. In my opinion, GNR have not released a bad album, really, but some of their albums can be a hit or miss, depending on how you look at them, but they are fantastic albums to listen to, especially for classic rock fans.
Interesting to see one of the Use Your Illusion albums in at the top spot. If one of them made it I would have expected II as it’s the one more people like more. Great list!
6. Chinese Democracy....never really got into aside from 3 songs 5. The Spaghetti Incident 4. GNR Lies....i love the Live Like A Suicide half and Patience 3. Use Your Illusion 1 2. Appitite For Destruction 1. Use Your Illusion II...not as much filler as 1, and home to a number of my favorite gnr songs, including my favorite gnr song "Locomotive"
I feel the opposite that UYI 2 has lots of filler. While I’m glad to have the extra material the album would have been better scaled down to a single instead of the double.
@@BrendonSnyder actually, all i would cut from uyi2 is get in the ring, so fine, dont cry, and my world...i like the rest....uyi1 id probably cut half the album lol
My favorite Guns N'Roses albums 1. Appetite for Distruction 2. Use your illusion 1 3. Use your illusion 2 4. Chinese Democracy 5. Spaghetti incident 6. Lies I understand GNR spaghetti incident is all covers but, being a true die hard GUNS N'ROSES. I really love it. My plan is to buy all the original songs an do a video to see what makes each Unique.
Love your content! Keep doing what you do! :) Numbers 2 and 3 might get switched soon but here’s my ranking: 1. Appetite for Destruction (very special album to me) 2. Use Your Illusion I 3. Use Your Illusion II 4. GNR Lies 5. Chinese Democracy (not the biggest fan but it does have its moments. I might need to give it another listen) 6. The Spaghetti incident
Appetite has stood the test of time.I'm probably not the only one who think that Illusions albums would make an awesome single album if you pick the best tracks from each.Civil war is an awesome track.
You and I definitely agree. I’m glad for the extra material totaling 30 songs. But I would have preferred an album as consistent and hard at Appetite and then 2 years later an album of the outtakes and b-sides like GN’R Lies. I think it all would have gone over better. Still they have sold 7 million copies each. So not bad. Might not have sold 14 million as a single album. I’m sure that’s what they were thinking.
I’d have Lies further up in my ranking, but other than that we pretty much fall in line. Can’t believe there isn’t more music from this band in the amount of years they’ve been active, but they could probably hang another thousand years and never match Appetite. That album still gets regular listens from me.
Appetite For Destruction was a great debut i agree, shame they never released anything close to it after that. The rest of the catalogue is spotty, a few gems thrown in here & there but altogether lacking. They were a good band but they could have been great had it not been for all the band drama & egos. I may be alone in this but i never need to hear Paradise City or November Rain again, so overplayed. Axl had a very recognisable voice & Slash had a great sound, love his work with Myles. Good ranking vid but i would put Spaghetti at the bottom personally.
I agree nothing has ever come close. If they had been more on the ball and broke the Use Your Illusion albums down into two releases and put one out on 1989 and then 1991, I think they would have been far better.
hey brendon, glad to hear the new gn'r song, maybe it will lead to a new studio album, also what is your favorite pink floyd song, mine is probably echoes
My ranking: Note not including Lies as that's just two eps slapped on to a cd. 5. The Spaghetti Incident? 4. Chinese Democracy 3. Appetite For Destruction 2. Use Your Illusion 1 1. Use Your Illusion 2
@@BrendonSnyder I was sir you saw and commented already. I think Lies should have had Shadow Of Your Love as well as another electric song too. Should have tried to stretch it into at least a 10 track album, those 8 tunes and the fact You're Crazy was already a song on Appetite makes it a weaker effort.

In terms of best to worst overall, my order would be AFD, UYI II, UYI I, CD, Lies, & Spaghetti. My personal favorite to least favorite would be CD, UYI II, AFD, UYI I, Lies, & Spaghetti.
I almost did my ranking like you. But in the end with Use Your Illusion II containing the classics like Civil War, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, You Could Be Mine and Estranged, I had to keep it in the #3 spot.
Nice ranking Brendon. AFD is probably their best album, but they could have cut a few tracks from the end. UYI 2 is easily better than UYI 1 in my opinion but each to their own. UYI 1 has too many tracks that are sub par and I think GNR should have just made one album. 14 Years is amazing.
My ranking: 6. Spagetti incident 5. Gnr lies One in a million is the strongest song if you ignore the slurs 4.Use your illusion II November rain and dont cry are almost perfect ballads and they would be on my top 10, dead horse, dont damn me and back of bitch would be all in my top 40 songs, 3. Appetite for destruction Perfect hard rock album Welcome to the jungle in my top 10 Sweet child o mine top 10 Rocket queen top 10 Paradise city top 10 Others are in my top 30
Albums ranked worst to best with my favourite track. 6. Chinese Democracy (Better. Way couldn't the album all sound this song) 5. The Spagetti Incident? (New Rose. To lazy to make original songs) 4. GN'R Lies (Reckless Life/Used To Love Her) 3. Use Your Illusion II (Civil War) 2. Appetite For Destruction (It's So Easy/Shadow Of Your Love) 1. Use Your Illusion I (Live And Let Die)
@@BrendonSnyder thanks, just watched it. Is the Appetite For Democracy Live double disc any good? Any nice booklet pics that comes with it. I am thinking of getting it but can only find the more expensive bundled versions (which come bundled with Blu-ray, DVD, t-shirt so on so forth).
@@BrendonSnyder sorry I meant the "Appetite For Democracy" 2014 cd they put out from the live in hard rock cafe. If memory serves me right they were touring the anniversary of Appetite for Destruction. Was wondering if it's good in your opinion
Oh sorry I missed that. If you liked the video porting, it’s the same Live content on the CD. Music is good as always but Axl is Axl. He’s never been that great of a live performer. I have it for collector reasons only.
nice i agree with you rob Halford from judas priest kidding but you do look like him oh man you have the banned art work too from their album appetite i have that one to
That’s actually a Japanese ep called Live From The Jungle. It came out in 1988 and included a live version of Shadow Of Your Love. So I’ve had that track for a long time. But I also have Appetite on vinyl in the original banned album cover. Bought it for $20 in 1994. So glad I picked it up.
Pretty much agree with your list though for me I would not have included Chinese Democracy as I personally don’t consider that a true Guns N’ Roses album.
Bands change members all the time. One member changed at a time just like when Steven was out, then Izzy left. Each time members were replaced. It just happens that over 17 years they replaced everyone except Axl and Dizzy.
@@BrendonSnyder I think it’s very subjective of when a band no longer becomes the band you like because of lineup changes. For me as a guitar player once Slash left Guns N’ Roses it wasn’t Guns N’ Roses to me. But funny enough as much as I love CC Deville once he was replaced by Richie Kotzen Poison was still a band I loved. So again it always depends on who replaces who in the band. That would make a great topic for a future video: What bands were no longer the band you loved because of a particular lineup change and why.
If I had to rank them - noting there are no duds here whatsoever - here is what I have: Very Good: G N' R Lies, The Spaghetti Incident Excellent: Use Your Illusion I and II (these should have been a double album of 100-120 minutes), Chinese Democracy The best: Appetite For Destruction
@@BrendonSnyder Thank you very much. I will admit that if Use Your Illusion had been this pared down double album, you would have had a coin toss between it and Appetite For Destruction.
@@BrendonSnyder thank you sir, I love Appetite dont get me wrong but it isn't my top one anymore. I like Axl best out of them all, love the ballads and such
Great ranking. I am about the same except Chinese democracy. Just couldn't get into it. However the title track I like and the song sorry was really good. And yes I agree Appetite is an iconic album. As far as the new song I like it other than the bullhorn thing.
Hi Dave! It will be interesting to see how the public’s opinion of Chinese Democracy changes over time as the band promotes it more in concert. Up until the Not In This Lifetime tour the album has only been certified Gold. Now the album is Platinum. It seems more people are giving it a chance because they’re hearing it in concert. It’s also great the GNR isn’t shying away from it because Slash and Duff aren’t on it.
Its a underrated album that deserves more love. It shows GNRs ability to take a song by another band nd make it there own. Not many bands can release a cover album and make it sound so original. If you listen to the album without knowing its a cover album you swear to god you r listening to a original kickass GNR album.
Another great video. AFD came out when I was in HS so there’s some nostalgia there. It’s probably my favorite album of all time (ok always top 5 anyway). I don’t own Chinese Democracy. Some decent tracks but it’s just not GNR to me. I see it as an Axl solo album.
My controversial ranking: Chinese Democracy (2008) Appetite for Destruction (1987) Use Your Illusion II (1991) Use Your Illusion I (1991) G N' R Lies (1988) "The Spaghetti Incident?" (1993)
I hear what you’re saying but they are “office” and they are “studio” and they’re “albums”. What you mean is they’re not full albums of original material. But both Lies and Spaghetti Incident were promoted by the band with videos and everything. So GNR does have 6 official albums.
@@BrendonSnyder Believe Me Brendon My Oversize Ego Was Wanting to Do it,, but at the End Of the Day Honesty with A little Humor works Best... I Think ??
What an irony!!! While in the Chinese Democracy era Axl was the driving force, as you said and I agree, now he's the weak link! Imagine a 20 year old GnR fan who knows the band through albums and YT concert videos, what a disappointment he will receive when he finds out, watching one of their concerts now, that AR can no longer sing...
Axl Rose is singing better now than he did then. I saw the band in 1991 and they were sloppy, all of them. Saw them again around 2000 and they were light years better. And I’ve seen them twice on their reunion tour and still they are better now than when I first saw them. So I am that kid from back in the day hearing them now and think Axl sounds better…haha
@@BrendonSnyder I'm not talking about the band, I'm not objecting to what you say! I say that it is obvious that Axl can no longer perform the '80s -' 90s stuff. It is great that they return but some things are not the same...
As Always - Very Good Observations Andreas...Time Has A Way Of Weakening Strong Vocalists. Thats Nature I Believe I detected " Auto - Tune" On the New Single....
@@spaghetti.lee-69 Agree, Lee! It is rather obvious that they used Auto-Tune... If AR continued to have the vocal abilities of his glorious past, he would display them with pride. I was never a big GnR fan, but I like the song because it has a decent '90s old school vibe.
Appetite for Destruction the best rock album of all time? Really? It's just a product of its time and not very original. Use Your Illusion I is the best GNR album although it's too long.

I am 34 years Old, first time I have listened Gnr Album since 2001, for me The Appetite is the greatest hard rock ever Album ever in those era
My ranking from worst to best:
6. The Spaghetti Incident?
Not a bad selection of covers, but it’s on the bottom of my list as it feels a bit more like covers done on karaoke in places, but there are decent covers, on it, but not an album that I listen to as much.
5. GNR Lies:
I know it’s a double EP CD, but I do like many of the songs on here, especially the acoustic songs which are nice, but my issue with this album is that the production is a bit bland and dull, but it’s alright to listen to.
4. Chinese Democracy
Yeah, it’s underrated as all hell, but for me, I like many of the songs, but I find it a bit boring in places and I often feel like it has been overdone with it’s production and the abundance of additional musicians is atrocious in places, but overall, there are many great songs on it, but I wished it could be better.
3. Use Your Illusion II
This album is brilliant, but I agree with your points on saying that both of them are a bit long winded and that, but I think this one is decent, and I love many of the songs on it, and I think it suits well, but I love many of the songs on it as well.
2. Appetite For Destruction
Yes, it’s a classic from the 80’s, and I love it, but as an album, it does have a couple of issues, especially with some of the lyrics and some of the songs haven’t particularly aged well, but as a classic album it’s fantastic and is well loved.
1. Use Your Illusion I
This has to be my favourite GNR album, with great classics and I love their ‘Live And Let Die’ cover, and it has many personal favourites on it, and I enjoy it more than ‘Appetite’ but it often swaps about from time to time and they are all great songs on here, and that’s why it’s number one on my list.
Great list!
I agree UYI 1 is better than 2
6. Chinese Democracy....never really got into aside from 3 songs
5. The Spaghetti Incident
4. GNR Lies....i love the Live Like A Suicide half and Patience
3. Use Your Illusion 1
2. Appitite For Destruction
My favorite Guns N'Roses albums
1. Appetite for Distruction
2. Use your illusion 1
3. Use your illusion 2
4. Chinese Democracy
5. Spaghetti incident
6. Lies
I understand GNR spaghetti incident is all covers but, being a true die hard GUNS N'ROSES. I really love it. My plan is to buy all the original songs an do a video
to see what makes each Unique.
I agree that The Spaghetti Incident is a good album despite it being covers.
Love your content! Keep doing what you do! :)
Numbers 2 and 3 might get switched soon but here’s my ranking:
1. Appetite for Destruction (very special album to me)
2. Use Your Illusion I
3. Use Your Illusion II
4. GNR Lies
5. Chinese Democracy (not the biggest fan but it does have its moments. I might need to give it another listen)
6. The Spaghetti incident
Thank you! I’m glad you’re really enjoying the content. Much more to come. Good list!
For me Appetite is 1, UI2 and UI 1 are 2 and 3, TSI 4, GNR Lies 5, CD 6. Would happily listen to the first 3 before repeatedly the others.
Awesome
I’d have Lies further up in my ranking, but other than that we pretty much fall in line. Can’t believe there isn’t more music from this band in the amount of years they’ve been active, but they could probably hang another thousand years and never match Appetite. That album still gets regular listens from me.
If lies wasn’t two ep’s and had more new original material, then I’m sure I would have ranked it higher too.
I agree with your ranking although I might put Illusion 2 above 1. I thought the songs were a little better even though some were released previously.
I also most put Use Your Illusion II about I for just that reason. Those songs like Civil War and Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door are classics.
That’s a hard one. Maybe On The Turning Away from Momentary Laps Of Reason.
My ranking:
Note not including Lies as that's just two eps slapped on to a cd.
5. The Spaghetti Incident?
4. Chinese Democracy
3. Appetite For Destruction
2. Use Your Illusion 1
1. Use Your Illusion 2
Interesting to see something other than Appetite at #1. I wonder if there are more people who feel that way.
Awesome video as usual!!!!!
6)Chinese democracy
5)spaghetti incident
4)lies

I'd go appetite one lies 2 but I was the largest gnr fan but I do understand your ranking
I can understand that placement too.
A verry shorts ranking, but a Nice one
It’s still 10 mins long…haha
Picking on the top 5 songs in each album, Chinese democracy is the best professionally done and contains the highest notes.
Checked out absurd think I'm going to like it picked up a mccartney three George Harrison Jimi Hendrix rainbow bridge night ranger winger and a ringo
It’s a strange one but it grows on you. Still I’m glad for any new GNR.
@@BrendonSnyder I thought it was normal lol I added styx and journeys greatest hits got them for my cousin who has c o p d and has migraine headaches real bad and all the smoke from the fires doesn't help
New Subscriber here so I'm a little late to this video but here goes my ranking. As much as I love Appetite the Illusion albums were my favorite! I don't know, I just like when bands experiment and add variation to their music.
1. Use Your Illusion I
2. Use Your Illusion II
3. Appetite For Destruction
4. The Spaghetti Incident?
5. Chinese Democracy
6. GN'R Lies
Thanks for joining the fun. I like your list and it’s nice to see someone who likes something other than Appetite. I grew up with it so I can’t get away from it. It’s ingrained in me…haha!
Spaghetti imcedent is probably my favorite
That’s interesting. We certainly all have our favorites.
In terms of best to worst overall, my order would be AFD, UYI II, UYI I, CD, Lies, & Spaghetti.
My personal favorite to least favorite would be CD, UYI II, AFD, UYI I, Lies, & Spaghetti.
06. Lies
05. The Spaghetti Incident
04. Use Your Illusion II
03. Chinese Democracy
02. Use Your Illusion I
01. Appetite For Destruction
I almost did my ranking like you. But in the end with Use Your Illusion II containing the classics like Civil War, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, You Could Be Mine and Estranged, I had to keep it in the #3 spot.
my guns n roses album ranked:
1 - use your illusion
2 - use your illusion 2
3 - appetite for destruction
4 - g n r lies
Nice ranking Brendon. AFD is probably their best album, but they could have cut a few tracks from the end. UYI 2 is easily better than UYI 1 in my opinion but each to their own. UYI 1 has too many tracks that are sub par and I think GNR should have just made one album. 14 Years is amazing.
My ranking:
6. Spagetti incident
5. Gnr lies
One in a million is the strongest song if you ignore the slurs
4.Use your illusion II
November rain and dont cry are almost perfect ballads and they would be on my top 10, dead horse, dont damn me and back of bitch would be all in my top 40 songs,
3. Chinese democracy
There was a time and better is fabulous, chinese democracy and This i love are awesome others are pretty solid
2. Use your illusion I
Civil war is almost perfect(in my top 20), you could be mine and 14 years are in my top 40, get in the ring is really good, other few songs are good except my world, its so bad(Use your illusion I and II can change)
1. Appetite for destruction
Perfect hard rock album
Welcome to the jungle in my top 10
Sweet child o mine top 10
Rocket queen top 10
Paradise city top 10
Others are in my top 30
Nice to see Chinese Democracy getting some love with its placing!
Appetite for destruction is undisputed album!
Hands down it’s amazing!
For some reason I've only got the use your illusion albums on vinyl, don't know why I didn't get the CD's.
If you don’t have Appetite, that should immediately be added to your collection.
also brendon, what is that guns n roses piece behind you?
The big black thing? That’s a tour book from the Not In This Lifetime tour.

6. Chinese Democracy (Better. Way couldn't the album all sound this song)
5. The Spagetti Incident? (New Rose. To lazy to make original songs)
4. GN'R Lies (Reckless Life/Used To Love Her)
3. Use Your Illusion II (Civil War)
2. Appetite For Destruction (It's So Easy/Shadow Of Your Love)

There is no live disc as part of the package. It’s all demos.
I have it for collector reasons only.
nice i agree with you rob Halford from judas priest kidding but you do look like him
oh man you have the banned art work too from their album appetite i have that one to
That’s actually a Japanese ep called Live From The Jungle. It came out in 1988 and included a live version of Shadow Of Your Love. So I’ve had that track for a long time. But I also have Appetite on vinyl in the original banned album cover. Bought it for $20 in 1994. So glad I picked it up.
@@BrendonSnyder yeah me too i have that on lp too i mean thats all i have from appetite
If I had to rank them - noting there are no duds here whatsoever - here is what I have:
Very Good: G N' R Lies, The Spaghetti Incident
Excellent: Use Your Illusion I and II (these should have been a double album of 100-120 minutes), Chinese Democracy
The best: Appetite For Destruction
👍

My Ranking
1 Appetite For Destruction
2 The Spaghetti Incident?
3 Use Your Illusion 1
4 Use Your Illusion 2
5 Chinese Democracy
6 GNR Lies
I never thought I’d see The Spaghetti Incident so high! What made you rank it at #2?
Its a underrated album that deserves more love. It shows GNRs ability to take a song by another band nd make it there own. Not many bands can release a cover album and make it sound so original. If you listen to the album without knowing its a cover album you swear to god you r listening to a original kickass GNR album.
Another great video. AFD came out when I was in HS so there’s some nostalgia there. It’s probably my favorite album of all time (ok always top 5 anyway). I don’t own Chinese Democracy. Some decent tracks but it’s just not GNR to me. I see it as an Axl solo album.
My controversial ranking:
Chinese Democracy (2008)
Appetite for Destruction (1987)
Use Your Illusion II (1991)
Use Your Illusion I (1991)
G N' R Lies (1988)

The Spaghetti Incident and Lies are really not official studio albums. G N' R only have released four proper studio albums.

I Think ??
Gn'R Lies is far superior to Chinese Democracy. But that's just my opinion and music is subjective.

I Believe I detected " Auto - Tune" On the New Single....
@@spaghetti.lee-69 Agree, Lee! It is rather obvious that they used Auto-Tune... If AR continued to have the vocal abilities of his glorious past, he would display them with pride. I was never a big GnR fan, but I like the song because it has a decent '90s old school vibe.
