When they told her it was done, she didn't cry about what they did to her mom, she Cried about The VAN!!!! An inanimate object!!! For crying out loud!!! If that doesn't spell out Guilty I don't know what does! What an absolute disgrace!!! I'm so tired of seeing "people" get away with things like this! With little to no consequences!!! Maybe because you're basing your opinion on a 20 minute youtube video and the 24 people that were impaneled on both juries had the totality of the evidence presented with which to make their decisions. Based on this video I would agree with your opinion but both juries disagree. I'm guessing that the evidence presented was not damning. Like, what teenager hasn't told their friends/partners they wished their parents were dead? It doesn't look like the prosecution had substantive evidence that she was actively involved in the planning of the actual murder beyond a reasonable doubt, which is the burden of proof in a criminal case.

If it were the case that such evidence was shown in court I can't understand how only 2 people in the first trial were willing to convict and the jury in the second trial only found her guilty of criminally negligent homicide and not at least conspiracy to commit murder.

    I feel the verdict was really unfair. She seems like she was majorly involved and she showed a huge lack of remorse, which is a red flag. She only cried strategically when she was put on the spot . The guys are dumb and deserve their sentence, but hers is a joke.

      Not really, its actually pretty crazy she was convicted at all .. Just actually take stock. This is one of thinnest cases evidence wise on here. there was 2 proven murder pedo's testifying for a lighter sentence..... What else?
      Jury's have the moral burden on them, its basically insane torture to death if get a murder conviction wrong.. You cannot just say '' i don't like voice, i think she's acting'' and thats it. t not saying there's no chance, just reasonable doubt. Being annoying pos in a police interview is not enough.
      They need text of her mentioning at least something. i.e she wants her mom gone.. These two witnesses are so easy for the defense to knockdown....
      Seriously the comments here are why defense attorney's don''t want you ever talking. Some people will just decide your acting (when you aren't) and send you away to jail for 100 years. some people i,e a whiny teen come off badly naturally. Yup ive met lots of people come off poorly and SEEM like they;re b.s ing and they;re not Ive sure you have too .....

      @johnambers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj You sound like just another idiot attorney. Thinnest cases? Just because the two men have been convicted doesn't mean they made all this up. Her mother would not be dead if it wasn't for her daughter and I think that is without question. Attorneys love to muddy it all up. How do you live with yourself after getting this kind of human trash free? Probably because they have less moral compass than the people they represent. So many attorneys are scum bags.

    I grew up in Thorne Bay, Ak. My dad was the cop there. Brian Ridell lived on the south side of Thorne Bay, my brother and I went to school with him and his brother. They were so odd...they would walk around with guns and military like gear on for no reason, the vibes you always got from them weren't good at all. We had already moved from Thorne Bay when this sad and senseless tragedy occured. I was told it was my ex who found her body and the vehicle.

      I grew up in Thorne Bay too. 1964-1979. Many years later, while working in a county jail, in a different state, we had an inmate there on murder charges. A cruel and evil execution of an elderly couple whose bodies he’d dumped in the woods. He was there awaiting trial for quite some time and I found out he had lived just a few houses down from me in Thorne Bay. I was an infant though at that time. He was around 5. But there he was, on his tricycle, in our Thorne Bay book the community had put together. Thorne Bay was a different place back then. I guess like anywhere else.
