At the end of the day my Canyon Ultimate SL8 weighs the same as these two bikes and only cost me $2700 plus $368 for my carbon wheels on sale so $3,068 to get a bike that is just as light and aero for racing. So I saved over $5,000 compared to even the lower end of these two models.
You know the Canyon Ultimate is not aero at all, right? Someone here (I think Dave Arthur) tested it, and it was even less aero than the Giant TCR despite the Giant not having integrated cables.
@@theflyingmozart I think David Arthur found an average difference of 7 W at 40 kph, showing the TCR was faster. Being pedantic, he said he kept a similar position but the Ultimate in that test had a clearly shorter stem (he was more cramped up). Either way, it's a handful of watts. I don't think the Ultimate is super-aero, but it's not a bus either. Compared to the Tarmac, the many thousands in price difference is really the issue. I'm sure there are people racing at a level where the speed difference is worth it, that cost:benefit ratio will vary for people.

Not sure I want a cheap frame from them either though so I'm looking at Taiwan manufactured bikes. The other thing about used though too is you don't know if the bike has been left in a hot car that could weaken the resin and joints if they ride it without letting it cool down so I'm very cautious when looking at places like TPC. 36tooth ratchet on a 2800 "top tier" wheel? LOL. Bruv, I just bought a brand new 500eur DT Swiss ER 1400 wheel set which comes with 240's hubs, 36 ratchet, bladed spokes and both wheels weigh 1450 together (spec says 1493). Aluminium spokes piss all over carbon in terms of ride quality. And in case I hit something chances of scraping the wheels are minimal.
I’ll take two Pros over the Sworks, easy choice
Those bladed spokes will creak
Durianrider loves his SL8 S-works!
CUT THE TOTAL BS YES THE BS i or you can build a total copy of either bikes in weight and preformance for under $4000.the rest is hype and BS nothing else .
the price jump is crazy
I know!!! they use to have them really close in price but then they had a lack of sales for pro because the people who had 10k for a pro usually had 12k for an sworks and the pro models would not be sold, now this model is huge difference in price and now makes the sworks a more exclusive club
I’m not shaking your shaking 😂😂😂😂😂
hahahaha
Yes, you can.
I a poor boy now.😂❤
lol
roval hubs are all dt swiss 350. FACT. 180 my A 🤣🤣🤣 source, Im a factory worker in DT swiss taiwan that makes that "roval" hub
yes I said that, roval hubs are dt swiss internals, they do not hide this informtaion
I would like to say it is more like A5 Wagyu beef vs. U.S. Prime beef.😂
For 8500k they slapped on a spacer/stem/bar combo that OBVIOUSLY does not visually fit on the bike 😂😂😂 WTF 💀
Buy the PRO, sell the wheels right away and buy some carbon spokes wheels and get a new one piece handlebar. Boom!
hell yea
Bladed vs non-bladed spokes as a differentiator is a complete joke at any price point of a 1k+ USD performance wheelset. Either the performance matters, and both wheelsets should have them, or it doesn't matter, and they should not.
i put a like for the *sniff subtitles
My editor would be proud
$ is for $-Works!
Id buy a cervelo s5.... i did buy a cervelo s5
lmfao I like the confirmation after
I could spend $14k, but why? I feel like it would be throwing $5.5k out the window since I do not race bikes.
same
💥💥💥$5,500 difference 💥💥💥 🧐
Even if the specs are the same, people are willing to pay for the S-works slapped on their bike
yea this is the truth
It is a Team Replica.

I love the AERO claims and i've seem clients when i worked at Specialized letting the decal on the rim.
Both bikes need 54T :)
I can't even afford the $5500 difference
I don't really even want an S-Works for even 4 grand. I would happily pay 3k but no way am I spending 8k for something over 16 lbs. I hear the Chinese economy is horrible right now. Hoping prices drop soon.
It is NOT going to get hot enough in a car to weaken the resin. Myth...
Trigon is an OEM frame maker now selling complete bikes direct to consumers.
@@larrymcgoldrick3471 for real lmfao........ i've never heard of a specialized bike doing this
@@devdroid9606 ugly ass bikes with bad pricing AND no rep...
@charlesmansplaining How many melted carbon rim brake wheels have you seen or heard of?
Dang this was a perfect video to leave my 10r and 12r comment 😅
hahahahahha I was waiting for it to be honest lol
For 99.9% of the population there would be no real difference on the road
Save your money, plus $14000 for a bike is nuts.
Made in China is the best in the business,Thats why its expensive.
Buy a pro, slap an Sworks sticker on it :)
This is the way lol
COME ON . U R WEIGHED THEM WITHOUT PEDALS .
RIDICULOUS. SORRY .
MY SL8 SWORKS WITH TIME XPRO 15 PEDALS , TITANIUM OSPW , BOTTLE CAGES & 1ST EDITION 51/60 ROVAL RAPIDE CLX WHEELSETS
WAIT 4 IT ... 6.72 Kilos in a size 54cm with Roval Rapide 40cm Full Carbon Cockpit in the Brushed Red
Looks Fantastic.
they are brand new bikes and pedals are different, they can chaneg the weight of a bike by half a pound depending on which model
If you ride at S works level and you're not being sponsored you're doing it wrong. If you have S works money just get the pro and donate the rest to charity man.
Not sure I'm digging the forced closed captions.
my friend made the video and i asked "why I needed subtitles?" as if my english is not good enough lol I dont think it will happen again
@gcperformance18 Lose the on screen captions. TH-cam English Auto Generated captions work well
Looks heavy for me...
Pro. 100%
pro is a hard deal not to pass up it is literally everything a sworks is
If bang for your buck is a thing, you wouldn’t buy a specialized at all. Rather go for a Canyon instead
As a broke neet, I take a big dump before cycling to save 2kilo on my $699 8.7kg bike. Easiest 6.7kg of my life😁
this is the way
Not gonna lie, a little disappointed in the weight:(
LoL.....For 1000 dollars more you can buy the Pro and Expert model. How dumb does one have to be to think that such a price difference is justified. S-Works 6.69 Kg, Pro 7.37 Kg ant the Expert 7.77 Kg.
repaint it. mid aged silverfox wont know
hahahaha this is ture
That good ol botty licking specialized paid for :D
no difference.
