In an endless sea of TH-cam gear reviews, endorsements, and motivational vlogs, we get a meaningful, real-life story to watch. Thank you, Ryan. Seriously.
I'm Canadian and both my parents are Chilean this was amazing to watch thank you! I'm glad you got to experience a Chilean asado with wine and sopaipillas.
"Wow" this video brought back some memories , from when i use to help my uncle back in mexico in the hacienda rounding up the cattle , sleeping under the stars and listening " pedro infante " . This is an awesome video and by the look of it an awesome adventure. Buen trabajo Ryan !
I've had this on my Watch list for months and finally watched it, its amazing dude! We will have to add this to the coffee chat, I have so many more questions than before! It is so sweet to see real adventure and film making truly mixed together with the gear you review!
Hell yeah Ryan this is awesome! Great adventure. Good story. Whatever color grading you did to this footage is really good too. Matches the story really well. Looking forward to future videos. Cheers.
Thank you! CINE-D sharpness -5 and color graded with my "Brighten Summer" LUT and also added one of my grain layers (included in my LUT pack) over top the entire project for vintage look. It definitely looks better on Vimeo: vimeo.com/317614781
Hey Ryan! I newly purchased a GH5 and am getting the hang of it somewhat. I just bought one of your LUTS packs and I have adobe premiere pro now. However some footage that I've shot come out laggy or delayed while watching it in the Source Panel. The sample videos that are downloaded in from Adobe Cloud comes out clean with sound and video. My question is what setting do you shoot your videos in so that it is capable of viewing on Premiere without lagging or film distortion, if that's the right word. I apologize I am new. Please give me any feedback if you can for shooting different settings or frame rates etc. Thank you so much in advance!

Hey! I have a video on settings for GH5 on my channel that walks ya through it! In addition, I added my "Medium Grain" overlay and my custom "Brighten Summer" LUT to the entire film to give it a more classic look. These resources are all in my LUT Pack for GH5 - ryanjharris.ca/luts/100gh5luts I overlayed the grain in Premiere with the "Overlay" opacity option and that really helped with the style of the video. Hope that helps!
Ryan! This is an incredible film. Inspiring as I attempt to work a little less and push to launch into new adventures. Just subscribed. Can't wait to see what you make next!
Great great work man! Also, I hope I'll be able to steal some storytelling tricks from you for my future project :) Wonderful audio and song selection too!
Thanks! I am currently creating my Filmmaking Workshop where I have a whole chapter on how I craft my stories feel free to take a look - ryanjharris.ca/gh5workshop Cheers!
Thanks! CINE-D sharpness -5 and color graded with my "Brighten Summer" LUT and also added one of my grain layers over top the entire project for vintage look
what a crazy adventure! Such a cool video -- always well-exposed too even in bright sun. I'm sure you took a lot of footage. Did you just carry 20 memory cards with you?
It is my dream to live a Gaucho lifestyle for a while. Eat, sleep, ride horses. Work with horses and cows. Can you tell me how i can get in contact with Gauchos, please?
Love your work man! I'm looking at buying a GH5, and getting the 12-35mm and 35-100 lenses. What you think of those? Cos I see you've gone with the adapter, Canon 24-70 and 11-16mm. Also you have any trouble with Autofocus (I know it's a sensitive topic :) )
Yep! I used the "Brighten Summer" LUT across the entire project to give a more consistent look and also layered on of my Grain overlays across all the footage (it looks better on Vimeo)
Great video! I live very near Rari and every time I look to the east I see the mountains you visited, this is a beautiful land, I'm glad you liked this adventure in my country, please come back some day and bring lots of friends so they can also see what it feels like to live in this wonderful part of the planet. Hey Viviana- Thanks for the comment! It is a Mexican song in the same way I used a North American song at the end sometimes I just like the melody of a song not necessarily focused on where it's from. Thanks for the feedback and watching!
