The 12 Sovereigns symbolize the 12 Herrschers from another game Hoyo has made called "Honkai Impact 3rd". These beings are capable of bending physical laws and are usually hostile towards humanity. In this universe, they portrayed them as the 12 sovereigns that were slain and forged as weapons known as the 12 sentinels, whereas in HI3 they possess a "core" that allows them to control a certain aspect of reality. (i.e. Thunder controls lightning & thunder, Sky (Void) controls space, etc.). In the end, they forged the 12 into 2 bearers. The first was Origin and the second was End (Finality). Finality was the Final Herrscher to descend unto Earth (in HI3) and is considered a world-ending threat. Until the main protagonist Kiana Kaslana overcame all obstacles and faced her own destiny and became one with Finality ending the war vs the Honkai threat (for now)

This is slightly incorrect. The Sovereigns were Herrschers. The Sentinels are divine keys.
The Herrschers and Kami are comparable, and the Divine Keys to the Sentinels, although there were many more Divine Keys made. There were also thirteen Herrschers and thirteen Flame-Chasers instead of just twelve.

the last one was an animated short, not a myriad celestia trailer. Its Firefly's animated short, she's a big spoiler and you'll see why in the story later on. Imo it sucks firefly is a big spoiler to new players or players that are behind in the story.

Tbh, they kind of spoiled her in the 2.0 version trailer (well heavily hinted at anyway). The 2.0 main quest also makes it pretty obvious. Regardless, the same thing basically happened with Dan back in 1.3. Some things are hard to avoid spoiling.
"The Embers of Glamoth" happens much earlier in the history of Star Rail. The central character of that story is seen in "The Jepella Rebellion" telling Kafka to stop playing with her food. The girl we know as Firefly was picked up by Kafka, joining the Stellaron Hunters

It was only debris after the planet got destroyed. Also, when you go back to the Jepella Rebellion trailer, you can see Firefly in her armour at the end ;)
Oh my gosh they were more bugs!!!! Holy cow that is insane!!! There were so many of them too especially after they nuked the whole world so now I get why she had to destroy that planet.
I will have to go back and watch that! I wonder if we are going to be able to use her armor in game, I would imagine right.
@@K1ngBard It gets crazier. Glamoth was an empire spanning several planets and they essentially all got wiped out by the swarm (the Swarm Disaster in the simulated universe will give you more insight about the danger of the Propagation and its Swarm as well)
And as a matter of fact, Firefly is the new character releasing in tomorrow's new patch! That's why she got such a big marketing push now with the Myriad Celestia and this animated short :D

I don't think the annihilation gang is the fatui counterpart of HSR, it's the stellaron hunters that are more like the fatui. but there are many factions anyway like the annahilation gang and IPC etc...
Dan Heng was shown chained up at the end of the Dragon Myriad Celestia because his past incarnation committed an "Unpardonable Sin" (Capital letters and all). So when he reincarnated into his current self, he spent his early life imprisoned, and then eventually banished from the Xianzhou Luofu. Somewhere along his aimless wandering across space, he met with the Astral Express, and the rest is history.

@@K1ngBard she will most likely go after a different research subject. It is however possible for a general idea to consume a more specific one (e.g. Harmony consuming Order) so if Ruan Mei finds an idea more general than Erudition, she can ascend

About the Aeons. You get the opportunity to change the Path your character is on. At the start, the Trailblazer is only treading the Path of Destruction(Nanook). The next path that opens is the Path of Preservation(Qlipoth) which happens Jarllio-VI, then the Path of Harmony(Xipe) which happens on Penacony.
Of all the Aeons, only 2 are officially known to be deceased: Ena(The Aeon of Order) and Long(The Aeon of Permanence). The fates of Idrilia(The Aeon of Beauty) and Akivili(The Aeon of the Trailblaze) are currently unknown, though they are presumed deceased.
Pretty sure the Voracity was killed during the Swarm disaster as well (ironically eaten).

There are several characters that are alternate-reality versions of each other, spanning across multiple Hoyo games. For example there is a Raiden Mei in Honkai 3rd, Raiden Shogun (Ei) in Genshin, and Acheron in Star Rail. Likewise Bronya/Bronie/Starwolf variants (might be the Tsaritsa in Genshin), Himeko is in Honkai 3rd and Star Rail and semi confirmed to be Natlan Archon in Genshin, Seele variants. And the MC of Honkai Kiana has variations as the Unknown god in Genshin. In some cases they keep the same VA's across games, but not always in all languages.
To me one of the most interesting lines in Ruan Mei's trailer was the admission "I have nothing to lose, and nothing to gain." That dovetails with a similar sentiment alluded to by Herta in her writings, where she describes the various ways somebody might react to catching Nous's gaze. From Herta's biased perspective (yet she is both brutally self-honest and a known Emanator of the Erudition, so likely an expert on the subject), those who see this as the culmination of their work and stop there, as well as those who are inspired to rededicate the rest of their lives to learning and proving the value of their gifts, both fail to enter the Genius Society. That final step requires a different revelation.

I'm glad you're getting into star rail and seem to be enjoying it. I completely understand why you struggled initially, especially trying to navigate the first couple of times in the Simulated universe. It feels slow. But as you can see, it picks up massively. The last video gives you why I said HSR is more mature than Genshin. While Genshin does deal with a few instances of death, and does get emotional... HSR doesn't mind crossing the gore barrier too. There are bodies blown up into bits there in that video. It can get pretty dark, and also pretty thought provoking.

Acheron's and Firefly's animations are huge for their backstories, both being older than they appeared, and both having survived the destruction of their worlds. Both continuing onward, despite there being something eating away at them from the inside. And both at least having strong parallels to two of the three main characters from _Honkai Impact 3rd_ , if not being their expies outright.
acheron is the only hi3 variant, glamoth only fought bugs while izumo literally has the 13 herrschers
About Acheron's Myriad Celestia (Kyoden: A cleave across the transient world), it is quite confusing even for people who know the story of Star Rail, it has a lot of parallelisms to Honkai Impact 3d, but the gist of it is
Acheron's homeworld - Izumo and another planet close by - Takamagahara coexisted orbiting a "Black Sun", and they both were beautiful places full of life. Takamagahara, in which beings called "Kami" lived, realized something and they left their planet, starting a war with Izumo.
Izumo fought back and with battle after battle, they used their enemies' power to forge the swords you see in the vid, 12 of them, called the Sentinels.
And then they were all broken, so by using the remains of those weapons the Izumo people forged Origin (the white sword that Acheron wields in that scene) and End (the huge black sword that she jumped to slash in the next scene). Both swords got destroyed in the war, and Acheron is left with just the broken hilt of the sword Origin.
But turns out all of their fighting was for nothing, the thing the Kami had realized, was that their planet was going to be consumed by the "Black Sun" in the near future, and tried to migrate to Izumo in hopes of surviving. But as Acheron said in the trailed "We both long strode into THEIR (The Black Sun's) shadow" The lie, and the end that never existed was that by winning the war against the Kami, their world would be saved. But it was all for nothing, they "had pawned everything, all for the destruction of two worlds". Both worlds, regardless of their effort, and regardless of how beautiful they both were, would perish. Their struggles held no meaning against the black sun.
Acheron, in a final struggle, tries to defy this realization, that everything was meaningless, and tries to slash at the black sun. In the process her broken sword gets reforged into "Naught." Then, the camera pans out, and we see illustrations of Izumo, and the war, and how the black sun was always there, all of their lives and efforts were meaningless in the end, because nothing was saved.
The "Black Sun", was later revealed, was in fact an Aeon (A god in HSR's universe), IX, the god of nihility, a gigantic black hole that just exists, as it's domains represents the meaninglessness of life, and it doesn't make any conscious action, because as life is meaningless, there is no point to it. Which makes it even sadder, there really wasn't anything they could've done, it wasn't a god angry at them that decided to destroy them, they just were there, and sooner or later would be caught in IX's shadow.
Acheron gains, and loses a lot from this interaction with IX, which is later explained in game.
Kafka is a menace but I don't think she is bad like villain type bad, she has a caring side :)

57:45 to clarify your doubts, you don't have to necessarily have a stellaron to be an interesting individual in the eyes of the stellaron hunters : Elio has a plan and and he will recruit every individual whos destiny alignes with the future he seeks

Oh okay that is pretty cool! These trailers are pretty amazing and I can tell that the lore runs deep in this game just like it does in Genshin which I am excited about.
I think even without getting into the metaphysics at play in Kyouden, there's an easy way to explain what happened. Think about what the two Bearers at Izumo's end symbolized - Origin and End. Now, what would happen if the Beginning and End of a story killed each other? A story that never starts, a story that never concludes. A history that ate itself alive. A lie.

Yeah it is unfortunate but thankfully I don't really have the whole picture to know what is really going on. It is kind of like someone giving me a few puzzle pieces where I can make some connections and I have no idea what the whole puzzle looks like. I will answer your Question at the End and some theories and assumptions so SPOILERS!!!!
First no Firefly has no Stellaron in her.
No, those thing in the sky weren't debris, those are still the Bugs(The Swarm) which they were fighting the Beginning.
Theories and my Assumptions: I assume that Somehow Firefly went into Stasis like March 7th for unknown reasons. Since although The Swarm is still around, if I'm not Wrong The Glamoth Empire was destroyed during the War with the Swarm which was called The Swarm Disaster.
I assume that The Stellaron Hunters managed to find Firefly in that specific time and place because of the Script.
Also if I'm not wrong with these theories, Firefly could be Older than an Aeon which is Nanook that was born after the Swarm Disaster.
You shouldn't have watched some of these before Penacony 😅 but now that the harm is done, you should rewatch them after you complete it. They hit much harder.

This one is actually not the hardest twist to crack but it was good to have the doubt and even if you forget now, you'll remember when you get there. Fortunately, there's still a lot of mystery left even around this and it will still be enjoyable but I suggest you don't look up anything else from Penacony yet 😅

the main quest after Jarilo is pretty meh to the point that I heard that its writer was the same one from Inazuma and they were fired after that, I don't know if it's true that seems pretty extreme but if by any chance it's true it would explain how these two main quests in these two games were so mediocre, it seems that Inazuma and Luofu are tests to see if your determination is strong enough to continue playing 😂
however the interludes are cool and Penacony is very good despite the ending being very unnecessarily extended, i mean 11 hours in a single chapter of a quest? really?
