- I dunno, after thinking about how I could use the FDS' FM for the song's distorted guitar, I decided to make this. Also the N163 waves didn't work right and the FDS FM didn't work at all in NSFplay so I had to record each individual channel through Audacity and piece them together that way so yeah.

It's because of the freak show that is the Namco chip...
Actually, it does sound like SNES version at first glance but when you compare it to this (th-cam.com/video/dsOEGPLa1Z4/w-d-xo.html), the actual SNES version sounds higher quality
The mix of the DPCM sampling and the Namco instruments make this really accurate to the original so like a 50/10 for NES standards.

So I believe the reason you couldn't get all the channels to play together, is because the FDS channel isn't accessible when using the N163 chip on hardware and the various NSF music players adhere to the restriction.
Anotherwords this particular mix isn't workable on actual hardware. Still sounds very neat of course.

Sounds amazingly close! How does everyone make SNES cusrom waveforms?
Most commonly, the ones making SNES covers are using N163 with a string of waves one after another to emulate the original sound.
What program would I use to show the sound waves frame by frame?
Are you asking how to get the separate channels, or how to translate it into N163?
I'm asking how to translate the samples into waveforms.
I record the instrument into Audacity and use a tool called N163/FDS wave analizer which gives me the wave numbers to put into the instrument.

The namco163 is technically the most impressive sound expansion chip for the famicom, no wonder it sounds almost litterly like a snes,,it can play 8 channel wavetable synthesed audio at 4bits,HOWEVER it cannot play all soundchannels all atonce, instead it cycles trough each channel for 15 cycle ticks , so it alternates back & forth between each channel ,but this will cause lots of noise wich can be only filtered away with a lowpass filter,wich the av famicom lacks but the 1st famicom does output rf out,and so the namco takes advantage of the lowpass filter in rf tv sets to eliminate the noise, it was a smart cheap clever way to get around this!!!
I like the crunchy noise that this sound chip pumps out. It's not so much a SNES as it is a GBA

That might be possible with the expansion sound, if you somehow created a NES mapper that has both the Namco 163 Soundchip and the FDS soundchip, then made a cartridge out of that with the music data.
Or a Famicom with the Disk System, an expansion chip donor board, a copy of an N163 game, and a flash cart.
Good luck playing it on a non-Japanese NES. Even with the sound hardware in the cartridge itself, some of the non-Japanese NES' pins were put in place to specifically block sound expansion to reduce cost.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but the N163 can support up to 8 channels.
This makes me with Nintendo wasn't so stingy with localizing third party NES audio enhancing chips. The NES would've had a much longer first life.

I record into Audacity, then I export to .wav and import that into FamiTracker by DPCM wave import.

Want to know what I still am confused?... What's the bad ending with the slot machine? Is it a theory that fox was lost in space???... But my theory was that you play as James mcCloud and if you play star fox 64 and get a good ending or might play again James lead you out I think or "or the ghost of James mcCloud" but it's invalid since the game calls you fox and falco and slippy are in there so my theory is debunked
