I'd say the blur was the right call. It allows this video page to be preserved, but with an eternal reminder of TH-cam's incompetence. It's a uniquely appropriate protest for a video where the audio and the comments are the most important features anyway. For everyone confused, TH-cam blacklisted this video because it's "too kid-friendly." The blacklist comes with lots of restrictions, but the biggest issue was all of these comments being removed. The uploader blurred the video using TH-cam's editor, then sent an appeal to remove the blacklist. The Made For Kids blacklist seems to have successfully been appealed but now they won't let the video be un-blurred. I really hope TH-cam would burn to the ground already so some competition can take its place.
Between their incompetence handling videos like this, that just lose the lottery of being "kid friendly" and losing basic privileges like comments, along with the new substantial region roll-out of blocking Adblockers, and even locking accounts that use adblockers; I'd say a competitor is in development right now.
Competition probably isn't happening anytime soon. What I personally want to happen is to see Susan Wojcicki face criminal investigation/jail time for being the one to violate COPPA and cause the Made For Kids restriction to be created in the first place. She's retired, she no longer has protection from TH-cam's CEO chair.

Robert Wadzeck I think the big factor that everyone fails to realize when you are current waiting week to week for new episodes you get board and it becomes tedious, and when things become tedious you stop caring. For example I love RUBY but the 3min episodes after waiting a week were tedious so I just stopped watching each week. Its not that people don't care, its not even that they don't like the show anymore, its that they don't like waiting.
Everyone here is coming back after years and saying they're having nostalgia, and I'm here for the first time from 2020's quarantine (after of course, I joined the fandom during quarantine) and now I'm feeling memories of a thousand souls pouring into me, memories that aren't even mine... i joined the fandom back in december 2011/january 2012. i don't know how to explain it, but those days were something different, something special. i think the same is happening to you. theres nothing like that feeling when you find mlp, is like a once in a lifetime thing. one of the things i remember the most from back in the day was a fanfic called my little dashie. i don't know if it can be found online anymore but in case its not i still have it. i downloaded the pdf because i had a friend (who joined the fandom because he saw i had a background of rainbow dash on my sony ericsson w150 and i had to explain but he was cool about it thankfuly. we're still friends) who had no internet and wanted to read it. he didn't understand much english but he literally translated word by word with google translate until he understood enough to be able to read. i think he found english easy because now hes an english teacher lol
I don't know if the artist behind this still checks their channel. This song saved my life. I was in the darkest pits.. I was a medic in the Army, through OIF... ive always had a sort of relation to fluttershy, basically being the shy dude that hangs around with animals. this is gonna sound really silly, but i feel like i understand animals more than people like her. i find social interactions to be pretty overwhelming too, and prefer to be alone most of the time. shes basically become my favourite character now.

This takes me back to a simpler time. A simpler time where I hadn't yet figured out much about what life means to me, and a time where I felt free of worry and responsibilities. It's fun to come back and remember those things, but I must also remember that my happiness didn't end with me leaving the fandom, it simply found new things to latch onto and grow. So I look back not to just remember what once was, but to remember to keep moving forward.
OMFG! 7 YEARS?! I remember discovering mlp during my early days on TH-cam in December 2011. I was 9 at the time. This video and fluttershys lament were what brought me to the fandom and the show! Damn..... to think I still watch the show is crazy. About 90% of the fans back in the fandom days are gone now. They’ve grown up and more than likely lost interest of the show. It’s very sad. I remember watching all kinds of fan made pmv’s, music pmv’s, TH-cam poops and all kinds of shit. I just wanna give thanks to all the creators and Hasbro for making my childhood be something to remember. I get that the fandom isn’t dead but... it’s not as lively as it once been. It’s not the same. WoodenToaster, the living tombstone and all those other amazing content creators are gone. No one can replace them. Their contribution to the fandom is legendary. I’ve been a brony for 7 years now (almost) and I gotta say; I’m glad I never left. Imma stick around to the end. It’s 2018, I’m 16 at the time this comment was made. Idk anymore. I remember I originally found this song from a ROBLOX game back when I was a kid... this song is basically the reason I even got into MLP. I was also a tomboy back then, the kind that “would never like girly things,” but this show has always stuck with me and it actually helped me with mental illness (depression + my anxiety disorder). God it feels like a lifetime ago since I first watched MLP FIM, I stumbled onto it by accident when I was 11 but I immediately got hooked, I remember watching a ton of MLP fan content on TH-cam, I was an obsessive fanboy, this show helped me go through rough times in my childhood, I didn’t have a lot of friends nor could I even engage in conversation properly, as a kid I had developmental issues and it hurt not being like all my other classmates, but when I watched MLP it was my comfort show, flutter shy is probably the most relatable character I relate to, she was always shy and a pushover, couldn’t be more assertive, but despite that she always had friends to support her, pinkie pie could basically be summed up as “a little girl in a grown ponies body who always loved throwing parties”, she was very different from everyone else but they all liked her very much, what I’m trying to get here is that back then I was very different but this show helped me realize that being different is okay and that you shouldn’t be afraid to be who you are, because in the end you’ll have friends that will accept you for who you are, and it doesn’t matter who your friends are, if they will support you and care about you then you made the right friends, this show helped me through depressing times and it helped make a lot of good friends, I love this show with all my heart and I hope the new generation will appreciate it as well.

Even though I only finally clicked on this song in October after seeing it constantly come up, this still feels nostalgic to me since I first got into MLP in early 2013 back when I was only 4. i joined the fandom back in december 2011/january 2012. i don't know how to explain it, but those days were something different, something special. i think the same is happening to you. theres nothing like that feeling when you find mlp, is like a once in a lifetime thing. one of the things i remember the most from back in the day was a fanfic called my little dashie. i don't know if it can be found online anymore but in case its not i still have it. i downloaded the pdf because i had a friend (who joined the fandom because he saw i had a background of rainbow dash on my sony ericsson w150 and i had to explain but he was cool about it thankfuly. we're still friends) who had no internet and wanted to read it. he didn't understand much english but he literally translated word by word with google translate until he understood enough to be able to read. i think he found english easy because now hes an english teacher lol

It's fun to come back and remember those things, but I must also remember that my happiness didn't end with me leaving the fandom, it simply found new things to latch onto and grow. So I look back not to just remember what once was, but to remember to keep moving forward.

OMFG! 7 YEARS?! I remember discovering mlp during my early days on TH-cam in December 2011. I was 9 at the time. This video and fluttershys lament were what brought me to the fandom and the show! Damn..... to think I still watch the show is crazy. About 90% of the fans back in the fandom days are gone now. They’ve grown up and more than likely lost interest of the show. It’s very sad. I remember watching all kinds of fan made pmv’s, music pmv’s, TH-cam poops and all kinds of shit. I just wanna give thanks to all the creators and Hasbro for making my childhood be something to remember. I get that the fandom isn’t dead but... it’s not as lively as it once been. It’s not the same. WoodenToaster, the living tombstone and all those other amazing content creators are gone. No one can replace them. Their contribution to the fandom is legendary. I’ve been a brony for 7 years now (almost) and I gotta say; I’m glad I never left. Imma stick around to the end. It’s 2018, I’m 16 at the time this comment was made. Idk anymore. What was once a super creative, awesome fandom is gone now. It’s truly something sad to see for all us brony veterans. Plz like so others can see :(

I remember when I would spend hours on TH-cam watching fandom MLP shit. :( I didn't really have friends or much stuff to do back then so MLP was something that really helped me through those hard times.

Every now and then I come back to this song, I feel a great nostalgia coming over me as I hear the wonderful tune reminding me of better and more peaceful times when I was but a boy complaining about schoolwork and playing halo 3 custom games with my buds. That day I had to walk across the road to my friend's house in the rain, and I remember just standing in the rain and spinning while singing this song. I remember it distinctly as the first song that made me actually feel something, like it was the first time I properly appreciated a piece of music. I had a really rough childhood and honestly, as dumb as it sounds, this one song made me happier than most things at that time. So, whoever made this, thank you so much. I remember I originally found this song from a ROBLOX game back when I was a kid... this song is basically the reason I even got into MLP. I was also a tomboy back then, the kind that “would never like girly things,” but this show has always stuck with me and it actually helped me with mental illness (depression + my anxiety disorder). I just think it’s crazy that, if I never bothered to find out what this song was, MLP wouldn’t have been in my life. I’m 18 years old now and still love the show so much, it means so much to me and so does this song. I randomly decided to look this up again and all the memories just flooded back to me... :)

i just discover this today
God it feels like a lifetime ago since I first watched MLP FIM, I stumbled onto it by accident when I was 11 but I immediately got hooked, I remember watching a ton of MLP fan content on TH-cam, I was an obsessive fanboy, this show helped me go through rough times in my childhood, I didn’t have a lot of friends nor could I even engage in conversation properly, as a kid I had developmental issues and it hurt not being like all my other classmates, but when I watched MLP it was my comfort show, flutter shy is probably the most relatable character I relate to, she was always shy and a pushover, couldn’t be more assertive, but despite that she always had friends to support her, pinkie pie could basically be summed up as “a little girl in a grown ponies body who always loved throwing parties”, she was very different from everyone else but they all liked her very much, what I’m trying to get here is that back then I was very different but this show helped me realize that being different is okay and that you shouldn’t be afraid to be who you are, because in the end you’ll have friends that will accept you for who you are, and it doesn’t matter who your friends are, if they will support you and care about you then you made the right friends, this show helped me through depressing times and it helped make a lot of good friends, I love this show with all my heart and I hope the new generation will appreciate it as well.

It's hard to believe it's been a decade. Happy 10 year anniversary to this lovely song.
Even though I only finally clicked on this song in October after seeing it constantly come up, this still feels nostalgic to me since I first got into MLP in early 2013 back when I was only 4. I’ve been in and out of the fandom since 2018 because the new MLP just feels like and regular cartoon now instead of something unique and special, it just feeds into the trends of other cartoons that air nowadays. I don’t know why but when i hear this remix it almost makes me cry because it brings back so many memories and it sounds so sad and good at the same time.

I heard this song when I was little in a flash game about Fluttershy and I really liked this song, but I didn't understand what it was being sung about, because I'm from Ukraine and I At that time did not know English well, I often remembered this song.
