    I’m eating it right now and thoroughly enjoying it! I didn’t use apple, just loads of fresh blueberries from a local farm. I added 1/3 cup sugar which seems like just the right amount of sweetness. The consistency is like the British dessert “Queen of Puddings”. Definitely more of a pudding than a cake but I love it! I topped my serving with soy milk instead of cream.

    • @jacquithekd
      @jacquithekd 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @MusicaAngela. Wouldn't adding 1/3 cup of sugar--especially if it's white table sugar--immediately make it less healthy? (Which is the point of the cake to start with.)

    • @erms111
      @erms111 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jacquithekd what do you mean the point of the cake? Hahahahaha. It's a recipe, people can modify it as they wish! I work out every day and run 30 miles a week, I can guarantee you that 1/3 of a cup of sugar dissolved into a whole cake will not affect my life negatively. You're baking at home, which is already better than consuming any ultraprocessed products. Instead of being picky with sugar maybe incentive people to cook at home, if you wanna be picky focus on industrialized products that you consume at home, not homemade stuff.

    I have made this twice now, and although it’s all right, it’s really more like baked oatmeal than a bread or cake sort of texture. The second time I added a quarter cup of flour to see if that would help, and it really didn’t. So next time I will add half a cup. It also is not very sweet at all, so I used a generous half a cup of blueberries to help sweeten it up some more. I want to keep working with the recipe because I think it could be really good if I can just get the texture to be the way I want it. I slice it into thick slices and have them for breakfast. It’s very filling and a great way to start my day!

      I would use caution with being on a low fat diet, your brain and body need fat to function properly. Your brain is something like 70% cholesterol! Just stay away from bad oils (canola, soybean, safflower, sunflower, corn, peanut), and enjoy healthy fats from high fat grass-fed beef, avocado and avocado oil, olive oil, coconut and coconut oil. No you don't need to cut carbs out to be healthy, but cutting out fat doesn't do anything good for you

      I get reactions with any of those sugars so I steer clear of any "fake" sugar. If you aren't counting calories, but still want it to be on the healthier side of usual treats, you could swap the water for apple juice; or as others have suggested in the comments you could put in some honey or maple syrup.

      Je suis vraiment revenu avec beaucoup de souvenirs et de beaux moments, tout comme je suis sûr que vous l'avez fait. Écoutez, nous avons encore une chose en commun, nous aimons beaucoup la Grèce !
      Je suis ravie que cette recette vous plaise, et je la recommande vraiment chaleureusement. J'ai aussi utilisé du yaourt grec, mais je ne l'ai pas mentionné car il y a des gens qui me rappellent sans cesse que le yaourt a été inventé par les Turcs (quand j'écris yaourt grec) 😃

    So I made this loaf the other day. I cooked it in a greased loaf pan for 55 minutes at 350F. When I inverted the pan to take the loaf out, it fell apart. Inside cooked but quite moist. My wife and I thought the loaf was a bit bland. Next time, I might put some cinnamon or lemon rind in it. Also, will put parchment paper in bottom of pan to try again. I'd like to have this recipe be a success as it is healthy, but I think it needs some tweaks.

    Just tried this for the first time. The video and information are great but I found mine came out quite soggy even though it was in the oven for longer than the recipe (due to being worried it was undercooked) and even when cooled didn't form as well as in the video. I did wonder why there wasn't any flour in the recipe as there are quite a lot of wet ingredients vs dry ones. I might try next time with flour and leave out the apples as they are soggy too.
