    I've also read a lot of good things about the Mediterranean diet. it's not only good for diabetes, it's also good for overall health. I think the fewer carbohydrates we have in our diet the better.

    Exceptional video. Thank you. I like to see actual portions placed and explained on a plate rather than the videos where they talk an hour or two and do not give portions or what is a suitable plate. Just by looking at what you're putting on the plate gives a good common sense of how much I should be putting on my plate as a prediabetic as well. Thank you. I would love to see a dinner plate as well. I eat cooked hulled barley and steel-cut oats for breakfast but I limit it to half a cup and that is my carbs for breakfast along with two eggs and a tablespoon or so of just peanuts peanut butter and then a few raw cranberries and a cup of tea with fat-free and sugar-free almond milk. I was tired of reading why we need to eat certain food but I hugely appreciate seeing what and how much I should be eating. Thank you.

    Is the avocado for desert?😉 This was an excellent video and instruction. Beautifully pieced together..easy to manage and understand. The food was easily found and bought at the grocery. And, if you are an example of the results of this diet, then that's proof positive! Thank-you very much.

      I eat avocados on salads (Cesar salad) or add mushrooms and avocado to hamburgers. Avocado also goes good with chicken sandwiches. Add a slice of bacon, radish and cucumber slices, and alfalfa sprouts with a small dab of Cesar or Ranch dressing. Avocados pretty much make any sandwich better.

Leaving behind whole wheat bread, high glycemic fruits, just eating berries, and eating roasted veggies with spices, leaving out the sweet potato eating that is nuts. I am starving when I cut down on carbohydrates. Even eating protein and salads to try and fill the gap still leaves me unsatisfied and absolutely starving. What carbs I do eat, I only eat complex carbs and whole foods. Being T2 diabetic is so damned boring and restricting. I hate it and feel deprived all the time. I have been T2 for around 6 years and it’s not getting any easier to have to eat to control this disease. I have been on insulin for the last 3 years.

      At your age as you are growing your hormone levels will be fluctuating and so will your sugar levels. It can be difficult to control diabetes during teen years because of different growth rates. It will become regulated just needs a lot more monitoring at this stage. You also need to be careful online and shouldnt give so much info. In particular we shouldnt know your age or any way you can be identified or contacted. The world is full of predators. I would take your post down as this is very public and someone could contact you for grooming purposes. Dont make contact with or answer anyone who contacts you. Play smart and stay safe.

      I was also just diagnosed and found this to be the opposite of what I should do. avoiding fruit and whole grains and mixing in fasting seems to be what the actual science says to do. You can't treat sugar blood with foods that have sugar. It is reversible with a ketogenic diet look it up if you think i am wrong.

    • @patrickp2836
      @patrickp2836 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He started me on metaformin and will re-assess in 3 weeks. He says weight loss should be my primary goal. I started Keto 10 days ago and my fasted morning glucose when I started was averaging 260 ml and this morning it was 175. I am starting intermittent fasting with an 8 hour feeding window. Eating all the fat has cut my appetite down and so fasting seems to be getting easier to a point where I want to try a 24hr fast in a couple days. This diet improves brain function so I am betting it will help depression. I think this is a lifestyle I can live with since I can eat bacon and cheese and fatbombs.
      I use to be a guy that says always follow your doctor's advice. Now I gotta say, research what your doctor says before you follow it. Type 2 diabetes is reversible, and people need to be aware of it.

      Why going for the expensive treatment when Dr.Hopkins is there to help you get rid of that incurable disease. I got link: on CNN from an article made by Alexander Millin, How he got cured from diabetes. Through herbal remedy, from Dr.hopkins he also dropped the contact address:
      dr.hopkinsherbalcure00@gmail.com to reach Dr. Hopkins, if anyone need his help to cure any type of disease or viral infection. Do contact him,, I thank God I did, I literally could not stop crying tears of joy after I was tested negetive, because I have really suffered a lot looking for cure. Thank you Dr. for all the incredible work you're doing, You've saved my life...

    Any time that I hear American ,.Canadian, Australian ,diabetes assn. recommends that you eat ... I basically delete the information given as they help some ,but take donations from pharmaceutical companies that have shareholders to please. You do not make money on drugs that cure, you make money on drugs to treat symptoms of a disease. Not a conspiracy theory just plain business at our expense.

    These foods are fattening!!! I'm a TYPE 2 DIABETES PATIENT, and most recently, I've been drinking half a liter of fresh orange juice every morning in 4 weeks, and my doctor calle me: " Theresa, your blood sugar is good, and you're healing your liver"! I also eat fruits for my noonmeals and vegetable salades for evening meals, since I'm a Fully Raw Vegan!!! This is due to the story of the Russian family who lived in the USA who suddenly had diabetes and cancers, and ate everything "RAW", and healed!!! Whoever you might be, whether you're a professional or not, you know that FRUITS & VEGETABLES are good for the body, because it rejuvinates the cells!Why not live like me???

    This is irresponsible! 9 carb servings per day is (9x15) or 135 grams of carbs. I'd be on an IV insulin drip with that many carbs. If you are looking at this because you've been recently diagnosed type 2 ignore everything she is saying. Find one of the low carb web sites hosted by a real MD. I suggest Jason Fung but find your own.

    This is not a good diet for diabetes. 45 grams of carbs a meal is WAY too much for a diabetic. Diabetics have considerable insulin resistance and need to reduce the insulin by reducing the carbohydrates they eat. They need to do either a keto diet (

    Wow! We need to import other foods from other planets that have life too, or maybe I'm not from this plant being I'm Type 2. I have struggling with my diet, especially the breakfast meals. My wife had made lots of PASTA Meals in the past (Pasta this and pasta that), until I had to put my foot down. I'm on insulin now been for four months, and test first thing in the mornings. Today I blood tested at 108 and I'm slowly cutting my units of insulin. Hurrah, I'm doing something right. My meals are getting better under the occasional phone appointment from a Diabetic Advisor. I have small balanced portion on a small plate, but I need more balanced meals suggestions. My last evening supper; A very tender pork chop, peas, scallop potatoes; and Diet Ice Tea. Breakfast was half cup of Hot Oatmeal w/'o' % Fat Milk, 1/2 Pear, and Splenda for sweetener. 2 small slices of Seedless Rye Bread, and cup of tea w/Splenda. I'm going to have a hard boiler egg with my Oatmeal Breakfasts in the future. But how do you incorporate a vegetable in your breakfast meal? Protein Shake with Spinach? Diced fried green and red pepper Omelet? I have a lot to learn and so much of it, that repetition of doing the right thing will get me there. We're guys ... Hell, we just want to slap food together and eat. I'm going to make your salad tomorrow for lunch, I like that!
