Just a tip for you guys to try when painting sculpts, I use a thick layer of Liquitex Gloss medium Varnish on my sculpts before painting to help cover up any marks or blemishes etc. Works well as a primer before using actual paint
I’m not old enough for my parents to trust me with sculpting so what I do is put sticky tack on the fig in the shape I need it to be then I spread super glue on top of the sticky tack then paint on top of it so there’s a tip for anyone who can’t use putty like me
Painting webslingers will probably be its own video one day - but just go very slow, keep your design organized, & use very tiny amounts of paint for each line of webbing
I thought episode 2 was going to be focusing on 3d elements like pouches and jedi robes i was surprised that it was not ( hope that is next ,that would be really helpful )
YES YES YES YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for making this Series! This has made me want to do what I wanted to do years ago Can’t wait for the next episode!!! 🙂
Loving this series! Honestly just loving more content from you in general! How do you feel about using 3D printed parts? I do a bit of 3D modeling in my spare time and I’ve been considering trying something like this for a while.
Nice tutorial! I have a question: do you still plan on doing the MCU ten years showcases, or are you going to be working on different projects instead? I am wondering because I think a new Avengers 2012 showcase would be really cool! Keep up the great work, man!
i know this is an old video but stumbled onto it now, i have suggestion that might be nice. You use pins to paint which im surprised how well you can use them, ive been making miniature models for years and tried using them after watching your video and it was very tough to lay a smooth thin layer, ive always used expensive brushes and airbrushes so i find it fascinating. I did some research and you should try silicone brushes, they lay down smoother layers because the paint does not adhere to them while still being very similar to your style of painting, AK makes them worth having a look
Ngl sculpting can be a real drag. Hopefully this helps though! Thinking about doing fabric next 🤔
Thanks for the tutorial! I was literally just about to start sculpting for the first time!
