In this episode we take a look at some facts, secrets, and history of Wario. Wario first appeared on the Nintendo Game Boy with Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as the main antagonist. Originally portrayed as an exaggerated version of Mario, his name is a portmanteau of Mario's name and the Japanese word warui , meaning "bad". Wario was first designed by Hiroji Kiyotake, and is voiced by Charles Martinet, who also voices many other characters in the series. Wario later became the protagonist of the Wario Land and WarioWare series.

Why hasn't Nintendo ever made a "Wario Bros." game featuring both Wario and Waluigi yet. It'll be cool to see Waluigi in something that's not Mario Party related for once.
***** Idk, I was thinking more along the lines of a platformer than an RPG. I mean, Nintendo has several Mario Paper/Mario & Luigi RPGs under their belt right now.
"New Super Wario Bros. Switch" could be a perfect title. They could even have "Mario" crossed out on the cover, with "Wario" written over it in purple font. It could be like that "New Super Luigi U" game, but with Wario and Waluigi.
the "Switch" in the title could also be a double meaning. Because it's released on the Switch, and *switching* between Wario and Waluigi could be a core gameplay mechanic, or something along those lines.
Wario and Waluigi: Partners in Crime or Masters of Crime...your choice there
I'd like to see Wario related baddies in a Warioware game; Captain Syrup invading with the Evil Jewel from Wario World, and of course only microgames can save the day.

Movies Dakota Made Yes, every copy is personalised. The wario apparition is real. But mario land 2 still predates mario 64, it even predates the 1995/07 beta build.
Contrary to popular belief, Wario's W isn't Mario's M upside down, but rather a combination of the Japanese word "warui" (bad) and Mario.
The same pun applies to Waluigi, as it comes from "warui" and "Luigi," which works better in Japanese because they don't have an L sound, so they use R instead. Waluigi's name has another pun, however, as "ruiji" means "sameness," "similar. The pun worked well in early Mario games because Luigi was essentially a clone of Mario.

Waluigi has very mixed opinions inside Nintendo. He was created solely for Mario Tennis by a third party company. Many people dislike him because he has no backstory or defining personality. Sadly, it's unlikely that a Waluigi game will come out

@@Kittenfox_55 The only reason why Wario Land was made is because Mario games were hard to make on HandHeld. Now that technology has advanced in the DS era, Mario games are now easier to make and WarioLand is no longer important. Also Wario is bad Mario.
@@orangeslash1667 Also, the original team in charge of the Wario Land games was dissolved long ago, and Goodfeel found better luck with the Yoshi games, so currently, Wario Land doesn’t really have anyone interested in working on a new game, unlike WarioWare, that has Intelligent System, and has actually continued getting games on all systems since the first game on GBA, only taking a hiatus during the 3DS era, but returning with Gold, and now with GiT on Switch

I'm a bit confused when mentioned about the warioland series went on hiatus for years after 2. But I remember a warioland 3 and 4 that I played on the game boy color and game boy advance. Before the Wii warioland.
Wario Land is absolutely awesome, each game is super different from the rest, from high speed platforming with Wario Land 4, to Metroid-Vania style gameplay with Wario Land 3!

Wario is so underrated! I love all the Warioware games. The characters are a lot more interesting than the Mario characters. Like, Ashley for example.

Marioland 2 and Wariorland 2 were two of my favourite handheld games growing up.

Agreed. That game was one of my favorites to play on my Gameboy as a kid. I got it secondhand from a mom and pop gaming store cuz it looked so different from the other Mario games. Boy was I in for a treat. To this day I can still play it and have as much fun as I did back then!
