Groceries are out of sight now. I live alone but I feel it as well. I’m praying every day for changes. God bless.

Thanks for sharing your grocery haul and meal planning. Things have definitely changed, my household is just myself and my 19 year old son, we used to eat out a lot and we can't afford to anymore. I've been cooking a lot more and having to really watch every penny spent. Making lots of desserts, tacos, crockpot chili and beans and rice.

Yes, we make pizza at home, every Friday night. My husband and mother (94 years young) always look forward to it, and the question of the day is always 'what kind of pizza tonight?' I cheat and buy the ball of fresh dough at Trader Joe's for about $1.50. I really like regular crushed tomatoes for the sauce, and stock up on packages of cheese when they are on sale. Each pizza only costs about $5. plus whatever toppings might be in the fridge. Yum! Yours and Titus' looked very delicious!

So happy every time i see a video from you. And its oddly comforting that others notice the change in price, its so discouraging but to know we're in it together, its just makes me think of the quote Jo uses in the 90s Little Women movie "necessity is indeed the mother of invention" us women having to be pioneers in a way and relating to eachother and these characters we've read about and admired. Im so thankful for those stories and for women like you. ❤

I'm always confused by people that won't burn a candle because it's not healthy but eat a diet consisting of primarily highly processed foods.

You do realize a President cannot lower food prices, VP cannot make laws or change em! The next president will have few options to significantly or quickly lower food costs - though voters believe otherwise. A majority of U.S. consumers believe elected officials, of one party or the other, can help lower their grocery bills - an expectation that could help swing the election, given how important inflation is to likely voters in 2024.
The truth is likely to disappoint them. Despite what both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are promising on the campaign trail, the next leader of the free world has limited options to lower food costs in the speedy or widespread way many voters might hope. (Just ask President Joe Biden, who struggled for much of his presidency to show Americans he was reining in grocery prices). That said, POLITICO spoke to a number of economists who argued there are good reasons to go after some of the drivers of high food costs, even if the impacts won’t be felt for some time.
POLITICO took a look at some of the policies Biden, Harris and Trump have used, or said they plan to use, to address high food prices and the limitations of each. Neither the Harris nor Trump campaigns responded to a request for comment. www.politico.com/interactives/2024/food-cost-price-harris-trump-biden/

Whats really scary? How many so called believer have embraced a two fold child of hell and call it of God! God will never tempt His people with such evil, Trump IS a great deceiver and John was warning us about such deception. He is the opposite of everything Jesus taught us to be. Only Reprobate would embrace such evil!

I make A LOT of pizza. I have a delicious sourdough pizza crust recipe and a banging homemade sauce recipe.
    Pizza sauce
    1-15oz can tomato sauce
    1-6oz can tomato paste
    1tbls ground oregano
    1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp ground smoked paprika
Mix together, this is enough sauce for 3 of my big round pizza's.
I try very hard to make what i can from scratch because the ingredients in food scare the living heck out of me.
We have ALL plain white corelle dishes. It's American made and the factory is just up the road from where i live AND the big kicker is, it's lead free. Back when i had FB i use to follow a girl named lead free Mamma. She tested everything and found that most dishes actually have lead in them. Especially any dishes that have white or colored paint on them. I was pretty shocked 😮.

Hi Sarah! You're so right groceries have totally gotten outrageous! And you really can't afford to but groceries & go out to eat.. or we sure can't! But Hindi we would rather eat at home, it just taste much better to me! But I cook 5-6 nights a week. We do usually eat somewhere after church on Sunday's unless i put something in the crockpot on Saturday night. Or we'll take the kids to McDonald's or Taco Bell on Saturday night as a treat, they love it! But when it comes to fruit we eat so much of it! I have to buy bananas at least 8 at the time, a huge bag of green seedless grapes, a bag of apples, the largest container of strawberries & blueberries, a box of 12 cups of mandarin oranges these are always in the fridge or pantry.. then sometimes I'll pick up a watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, blackberries or mangos. There's 4 adults & 3 babies.. 5, 3 & 1. We all eat lots of fruit, especially the kids! They'll eat fruit bowls for breakfast sometimes, noon snack, before bed, the oldest takes it to school. I almost live on the grapes! And my husband & son take fruit to work. So we sometimes buy fruit twice a week! Nothing ever lasts, much less go bad! Loll we'd be better of planting trees😂 I don't know about on the west coast, but in Florida right now bananas are only .05¢ a pound, fruit isn't expensive here.. thankfully🙌🏻 I remember eating iced oatmeal cookies even as a small child. Back then you could get the real big ones in the little country stores from A big cookie jar. They were only like 5¢ or 3 for 10¢. I remember those, gingerbread snaps, sugar cookies & butter cookies. In my grandpas & uncles little store they kept the big glass cookie jars on top of those long glass & wood candy cases. Mmm i love to make homemade chicken noodle soup!😋 I'm making shrimp Alfredo tonight, but we like the 5 cheese Texas toast, it has garlic on it too. I do like the chicken in the biscuit crackers! Really good with a little slice of sharp cheddar cheese or the canned squirt cheese. We keep those tortilla wraps in the pantry. The kids like cheese roll ups. We buy the string cheese, everyone likes them to snack on. But I'll shread one on a tortilla wrap & sub it in the microwave for about 20-22 seconds & roll it up, they love them. I pretty much baby😄 everything at Walmart. The only other choices are Publix or Winn Dixie here in our town, or we can ride 20-30 min to Target, which i find all of these much higher on everything than Walmart, especially Publix! We'll go to Target just to be going, but not for groceries, toiletries, cleaners or anything like that. My daughter used to make homemade pizza for us, but we just don't do it.🤷‍♀️ My husband & the kids only eat cheese or pepperoni, but my son, DIL & myself like other toppings as well. There's a place in Tampa called "Blaze" we love going to. You order your individual pizza like you would order at subway. Pick your bread, toppings, sauce, cheeses. you can do half pizza & salad or whole pizza. They're about the size of A small pizza from Dominos or Pizza Hut. And they're so delicious! That one place I can clean my plate! Don't do that too often, thus why i cook at home mostly. Enjoyed the video & just sharing things today! Yeah I know i got a little long winded.. but you know me 🤷‍♀️😄 I pray you have a blessed week!🙏🏻

I am also in the process of switching over to non-toxic products and foods. I try to use natural cleaning products, or make my own, though I've not yet completely transitioned; and I've eliminated most processed foods from my home, and am learning to cook from scratch as much as possible. I hope that you and your family continue to expand your non-toxic journey, and find healthy and affordable alternatives. God bless!
