not expected but VERY thrilled by this cover and how the message shifts there ain't no rest for the wicked but some need to ask themselves if it's a need to be wicked or a want
Chonny Jash has, undoubtedly, transcended the boundaries of traditional interpretation, weaving a tapestry of sonic audacity that awakens the dormant eccentricities within our own souls. This unorthodox rendition stands as a testament to their unbridled creativity and serves as a melodic reminder that there is indeed no respite for those who embrace the peculiar path less traveled. Omg, I never expected to hear a cover of Cage the elephant, this is awesome!! I wonder how a cover of other bands that I hear like bearghost or dirt poor robins would sound if they were done by chonny

The 3rd chorus, was SOO good for some reason, I can’t explain it but it was just so damn good man! The moments leading up to it at 2:15 were so good, then 2:37 and it hit so DAMN HARD!
I love it when the music gets matched to the message. Up to 2:37 point, the riff in the main chorus starts at ground level and continually returns to it. It embodies the "keep you down" message. However, at 2:37, the riff no longer gets "held down". They wrote it to ascend. I also think I hear some changes in the mode, but maybe not... I'd rather keep some of the magic in the music than analyze any deeper.
my dad used to play this song all the time when I was younger! i didnt expect a nostalgia jam fest today but hey, you gave this song the respect it deserves! cant wait to see what you're gonna do next
It’s really interesting how he comes up with entirely new stories for these songs that fit so well (well maybe not new stories, from what I understand it’s from the point of view from one of the characters in the original, which is really neat)
God this slaps so fuckin' hard. This is a banger cover. Been playing this on repeat for a while, good stuff. I love the change of perspective with the story you decided to roll with, especially in how it ends. The cashier's last lines strikes a dark but realistic note and I love it. You've got some serious talent, Chonny. Your ear for music and thoughtful lyrics are superb. The mind, body and soul sound united as one in your tracks. Don't close those eyes for a long while yet, alright? Your music slaps too hard to go unheard. Keep up the incredible work!
Chonny back at it again with a baller cover of one of my favorite songs, twisting it into a totally different meaning that flips my brain upside-down! Absolutely incredible and powerful as always.
I love these covers that change the text to better fit the speakers presentation of the themes. Not all translations can directly adapt a text, as not all experiences, and especially emotional experiences of a text can be understood from a mere reprise of a a text, instead a translation must include alterations on the part of the translator to accurately and appropriately convey the lived experience of a given text.
