If the Google Street view link doesn't work, search for Shell Petrol Station, London Road, Wokingham. Move back so you're facing the skate park, and you should have some kids walking down a path. I love the sound of this siren I dont know why i do but it just sounds really cool!

But, I do live near a bunch of Thunderbolt sirens that were for the old nuclear power plant that used to be here. They aren't powered, and they haven't been used since the early 90s... But still cool to see!
I can't believe they are going to get rid of them. Ever since I have had interest in sirens these were one of the first sirens that caught my eye.

The fact that you can hear the shutter over the siren shows the power those solenoids have! Unless the sirens just quiet lol...
As of July 2017 they've been decomissioned in favour of a 15 second warning / 15 second all clear electric single siren
Nope! Wrong! They are being decommissioned and every single one has failed, but 1. Siren G still works and remains! Albeit a bit badly!

From remembering the one at Warley where I trained, several types of signal are used, one for fire, one for escaped dangerous patient, one for riotous behaviour on a ward by a patient or patients and we all had set responses such as escaped dangerous patient all wards and units were locked down and spare staff would assemble at main entrance to aid in searches. Fire points would see spare staff assemble to assist removing patients from a ward on fire and for riotous behaviour staff tasked to respond would head to the ward office to be told which ward to go to.

The 3t22 sirens are basically cs8 sirens with horns

Nope, because they're so old some of them only have one working shutter so it sounds different
And some have just got slightly out of time relays it seems. Not all ended up with 2s/1s timing on the shutters, some kept the 1.5/1.5
Gutted there replacing with just 1 now, I won't be able to hear it :(

I would do anything to keep them xD, hopefully the new one will have a longer radius of which we can here I think all of the ones now travel like 2.5 miles
I live 1.5-2 miles from the closest one and can still hear it quietly, if the wind is blowing in the right direction it is much louder.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Klaxons were connected via a telephone line not radio. From what I know the Klaxons aren't compatible with radio anyway.
