A great set of G shocks. The GW-5000U ia amazing, the best, gotta get one. For the future, a MIP square with tough Solar, atomic etc, with steel screwdown back would be absolute perfection.
Dear Russ Most of my Gshock collection is after your revews in the last two years. For one time ,I wish you revew for us the great Italian brand Venezianico. I believe they are worth your unbiased revews. With great appreciation and love , Nizar
I have a G9000 Mudman. Rocking on my wrist for the time since I bought. Bought it for the asymmetric case the rich history and "made it for a reason"thing, absolutely loving it.
I went G Shock crazy over the last few years thanks in large part to your channel. I love the illumination of all the text on the Mudman G9000, very unique. I may have to look for one of those next.
MWC the first ‘round’ G Shock was the DW-5400 with the steel case and screw in case back from the 5000/5200. I actually bought one waaay back in the day and like you say it didn’t win me over. The 5000/5200 were my go to. I sold the 5400 and just found my 5000 and 5200 in the loft the other day 😮. Awesome show BTW!
I have a 9052. It has all the usual stuff you would find on the OG, plus an EL backlight and some cool graphics. Makes a great winter-wear piece (no sweating=no constant taking-off and putting-back-on, saves wear and tear on the strap). I find it a bit bulky tho, so I tend to gravitate toward the Invicta Pro Diver or the Ironman.
I recently bought a GWG2000 black/carbon, absolutely love this watch, I totally get when you said you can just sit there and look at it, it's a work of engineering art.
Picked up my first G shock last month. The Rangeman GW9400-1B. Absolutely love it. Now just bought the Mudman G9000 yesterday for work. As I am a contractor and do a lot of construction work! The addiction to watches has begun. 😂👌 glad I found this channel!
The 9400 rangeman was one of my first g shocks and has always been a favorite of mine. I just wish it wasn't so easy to accidentally press the side button when bending your wrist. If not for that, I'd wear it much more often! Also, fun fact, if you buy the jdm rangeman, the GW-9400J version, you'll get a carbon fiber strap instead of the regular resin one that comes on the international models
I bought my first digital watch after watching your first review of it, the GBD 200..... It's as good as you said. I now have the blue, the black and the lime green...all disconnected from the smart functions of course. So you are responsible for my three G-Shocks :-)
Hi, first of all that Casio display case is amazing! Also amazed by how many Casio watches you own. I own a few G Shocks too and they're mostly reissues of 90s G Shocks becaude of its simple design, and also because of the EL backlight. Epic G Shock collection, can't wait for your Casio collection video!
Around the same time as your particular mudman, there was also the gulfman and riseman, definitely worth checking out! I miss my G9000, but you've got me wanting a Frogman now!
Love you Casio Cabinet. Great G-Shock Collection. In my personal opinion, I still prefer G-Shock with only a digital display & more for the small size. So far I have a small G- Shock collection, but my next one will be the DW6900. Regards.
WOW! There are at least 5 or 6 in this collection that I'd love to have but.....here it becomes very important one aspect of wristwatch collectioning that you have mentioned many times in your videos: I cannot really bear the fact that I inevitably tend to wear the one I love most.....and all the others never get out of the drawer! My daily G-shock is the Gw-6900. The one that I dream is the Frogman but I think I'll get the 5000U in the end. So that I have one round and one square.
I watch your channel daily almost and I've bought two of these models which are my favorites, GW-9400-1B, I love the 90's looks with the negative display and I also have got a GWG-2000-1A1 exactly like yours which is the first g-shock I ever own, I am not much into spending my money on a square one but I would definitely do it on a frogman, I love them, especially the special edition made for the Royal Navy. God bless, see ya around.
oh wow, what a cool video, love your collection. out of all my Casio watches i only have 6 g-shocks: DW 6620-Scorpion, G-9000, G-7900, DW 5600E, GW-M5610 and GST B200. I love all of them and i wear them a lot.
Hi - really enjoy your videos (even binging old ones now) - not sure if you are open to review suggestions here but wondered if you could potentially do a review of the Vario 1918 "Trench" watch - which has the 'bund' strap?? thanks
Such a fun show! My most worn is the same as yours- thanks to you lol. I am partial to the squares also, but do love my 6900 and have been tempted to upgrade to the solar mb6 version...
Great classic collection. Love the 5600s, 6900s, and the blue GBD200. Maybe take a look at the first model released with the Illuminator back in 1994. The DW6600. Best backlight on a G. They did recently bring it back but it’s too sterile for my taste. The OG ones can still found on the bay. They use the 6900 bezel and band so fixing up an older one is a cinch.
Check out the new 5610MT throwback to cassette tapes & collections- It’s Phenomenal and feels premium in hand too. If that’s limited release it will be a collectors item. I’m a square nut too and snatched up a few of the 40th anniversary editions. The gold & Eric Hayes Camo chocolate are fantastic. They both have golden glows to their displays at different angles too. Something the reviewers seem to miss mentioning or noticing! Both made so well in terms of finish and feel too. Also, The black metal Matte finished is lovely and sleak. Nice shiny parts on the pivots and the screen has nice details in person. I used to have the original black metal and this one is cooler.
I recently bought the GBD-200, my first ever G-Shock, and also first digital watch since I was a child. I had always thought G-Shocks were too big for me and for some of the models, that's probably still true. But the MIP display looks so good that I decided to give it a shot and I've worn it nearly every day since. I vividly remember seeing G-Shocks for sale in the 90's. At the time they seemed absurdly huge compared to the kids' watches I wore. I thought only an absolute unit of a man could possibly wear a G-Shock. But the brand left such an impression that every time I look at the 'G-SHOCK PROTECTION' wording on the bezel, it's a lovely hit of nostalgia.
Can’t beat the GBD200 it’s the only one I could read the time on in your Casio display cabinet. Mine takes a beating at work, in the gym and has never let me down and it’s really budget friendly. A great all rounder. 👍🏼
Who else got Gollum’s”my precious vibes” while he gushed about the Mudmaster 😂? Dude your enthusiasm about these pieces is more than enough reason to watch your videos… Great video mate.
Speaking of the CasiOak, I felt the same way when I first got one. Then I wore it on a round of golf and it was so comfortable and has since become my go-to active sports watch. As for the ana-digi debate I simply set the digital display for the date and seconds, and use the analog function for time.
Nice collection! (even nicer box)! I think what you're missing in your collection is the second (and best) Rangeman GPR B1000, which I wear all the time, it's incredibly comfortable to wear despite its size. It has the premium materials and is made in Japan. A realy must have for every G-Shockhead 🙂
Yes! I voted for G-shock and have been looking forward to this one. Not a bad collection there Russ, highlights are the Mudman, Frogman, and the collection of 6900’s. Another series I’m into is the G7900’s, sometimes called the Rescue series. You can get them in black, blue, green, and red (famously worn by Guy Martin in a few of his TV series). They’re getting harder to track down now, so I think a future classic!
Very beautiful collection ! I really like number one. On my side i just got my dream Watch the gmw-b5000d and I can’t stop wearing it. It might be the one that cured me from this Watch collection disease ! Cheers and I hope we’ll have this basic square G or even 6900 with the MIP display.
Get the green GBD200! It certainly makes a statement. As you quite rightly pointed out, the display is absolutely fantastic. All the very best for 2024, Russ. Cheers from NZ
Wow, what a collection! I had the Christmas one but didn't keep it but got another 5700. I thought you'd own at least one Ga-110, GA-100 or 9052 but the ones you have are fantastic!
Great suggestions! I'd recommend those plus the G-7900. I also like the GD line (the GD-100 das same case as GA-100 and 110, others like GD-350 or 400 have different cases).
My favorite G shock what I wear most, because is only G-SHOCK that i own is GBD-800. I love this watch and I don t understand why nobody talk about it.
Gotta say new to your channel and man it’s cool. I have a lot of G shocks and because of watching your channel I have been buying ILLUMINATOR watches you can’t beat twenty dollar Casios. Thanks
Just bought a GA-700BNR-1AER and i love the look of this thing. Eyeing up a few others such as-GA-B001G-1AER, GA-100BNR - 1AER, GAW-100BNR-1AER, GA-2100-1A3ER, GA-2100-1A2ER. All standard G Shocks but all look great.
The Frogman GWFD-1000B has been my favorite G-Shock to date but it is a MONSTER on my 6.75” wrist. So i end up wearing my second favorite G-Shock most of the time, the lovely GW-9400-1 you featured here. And i completely agree, fantastic buttons, great display and backlight and TS and MB6 is the 🍒 on top.
I only have 3 G Shocks but, my GBD200 gets a lot of wrist time because of it's clarity. I do a lot of cycling and it's my go to watch for that. Great collection and you've planted the seeds for an addition to my collection!!
Man, you're just hillarious and fun to watch, and in terms of what's cool and what's meh, in the g-shock range, you hit everything right, the bluetooth nonsense, the overcomplicating perfect models, so on. Great video.
Ross, thanks again for the fun video. I love my GW9400 Rangeman, GWG1000 first gen Mudmaster. Recently I love more of my GD350 and Gulfman G9100. Have you handled them before?
Yes, I love my GBD-200 in black and I now wear it every day after the GW-M5600 (predecessor of the 5610) was my daily beater for more than 13 years and still works like charm. But the GBD-200 feels and looks so modern and high quality. I've tried the GW-5000, but due to the weight of the unit, it always slipped to the side of the wrist and I just couldn't really get it to fit properly.
Love the collection man. Personally, the GMW B500D is my ultimate g shock. The fact that it is all steel gives it a feeling of value as well as being tough as nails. I wear mine everyday. And yes, its very beat up. Another G shock that looks better scratched up! Love the wife's take lol.
Bought my first 'G' a week ago from a large retail outlet - a black G100. Love it! Especially good as in the same town an independent jewellery shop wanted almost the same money for a F-91! 😮
Such a great set of g shocks. I have a dw 5600 ms that I use everyday. Recently I took him to a dive session with a trail in the rocks just after it and stays the same, almost new, watch. I'm proud to say that the squares are the best ones to get into.
Russ - you are awesome! Love your g collection. Now I'm going to be wearing mine more. (The thinner ones that will fit under a cuff during winter time!) I have an original DW5700 and it has a screw down back. It has hundreds of hours underwater at sport depths not exceeding 40 meters - still going strong. Another that had been a daily and used like a mudman is a blue GW300. Solar and multi band. Love that watch. Let's see those Casios!
Great collection Russ I’ve got some of those try and pick up a 6600, gw200, gw3000, giez 1001. In regards to the G9000 mudman take the bezel off and boil it the button action becomes so much easier 🤙🏻
Very cool collection. I like that it has basically everything G-Shock can offer in design and technology and that it is actually very similar to mine ☺. I do wear that 40th anniversary square the most, it is awesome! I also have a frogman (the 35th anniversary magma one possibly the best piece in jy collection), the G900 positive display is a joy to wear very unique light and colorful, and yes that gbd200 is to me the next evolution of the square ( I have the blue one too and use it for the gym). A piece I highly recommend to you is the G Shock GD 350-8 it is one of my favorites I wear it a lot I like that the alarm can be set to vibrate and that it is quite legible and it looks so cool.
I think we share the love for g shocks but certainly not for tech.. I love the h5600 I have the metal version and it's my favorite square... Also I'm moving into an all out Bluetooth solar collection, only having two oaks a 5610u and a gwg 2000 as the only non BT ones... I have a few b5600 a b2100 a gwg b1000 etc.... It super convenient not to have to push a button ever... Anyhow I just love you show! Saludos desde México
I have the classic square and a 5444 ( and a Tudor bb36, Omega constellation and a longines dress watch😂) bought my daughter baby g and my son a 2100 for getting into university. Best watches ever. Period. And they love them 👍
Great video Russ. You asked for any ideas on notable missing items, and I'd like to put forward the GX-56. The negative display is hard to read, and the buttons are hard to push, but its huge size just makes it feel like such a statement piece on your wrist. I dont care about any special features, so the fact that it's still avaliable for just over a hundred quid, and is solar, makes it a good value time telling machine that looks like it could survive World War 3!
If you love the features of the Mudmaster but want a smaller case with a more legible dial give the Pro Trek PRW-50Y a look. The band is silicone and comfy and it's got sapphire glass. I love mine.
Great video MWC. I’m glad you reviewed the G-Shocks first! I’d love to see you get and review the following watches: 1. Original Dw-5000c from 1983. 2. Original Frogman from 1993. Both of the above are still available, if you know where to look. 3. The MRG-B5000d. 4. The MRG-100 from 1996. Love the channel - keep it going.
I'd recommend GW-9200 Riseman and GW-9110 Gulfman for you to try on. As for me, Rangeman is and will always be my workhorse. And I have GMW-B5000 as my GADA watch. Anyway, love your channel. Looking forward for the next review.
Gotta back the 5610, as it's my own go-to. But the 6900 three-eye featured in MY all time fave movie, and has that Sobchak-faces-in-the-mud charm. Shomer shabbat, Dude!
A great selection Russ. I'm always just a tad weary of watching G-Shock reviews as it tends to cost me money. That seed has already been sown on the old MudMan a little while ago but I've resisted it so far. The 5610 and the 'U' model are brilliant, when I'm have medical stuff done my original EL backlight 5610 that I've had for a long time keeps me company. The full metal squares speak for themselves although I'm a big fan of my old (by todays standards) long discontinued black titanium positive display 5000.
My fav G from your set is also the 40-th anniversary square. I also would try the GBD-200, but maybe I should wait for the solar version. Personally I own 2 basic squares: the classic black one and a marine white one, and I do wear them quite often. Maybe someday I'll get the premium Japanese black square if they make a version with a red frame and a brick pattern around the screen. I also have the grey 2110, which is the best color of the whole series, in my opinion. And a weird winter Glide version of the 6900 with only one eye but two stopwatch scales, the thing is massive with it's bullbar, but it's one of those fun function packed Gs. Thanks for another great video!
I have broken my New Year’s resolution and bought the GWG 100 for a price I could not refuse I love the green strap and the way the led dial lights up I think it looks a lot more expensive then my new GWG B1000 even though it doesn’t have the same functions which if you use the map log the power of the sun can’t keep up with
You know, I’ve never owned a ProTrek watch and I’d love to see a proper video on one. Something tells me that they are a bit of a hidden gem. Thoughts?
I searched for a long time for the perfect G Shock that would stop me from buying other G Shocks. I ended up with the Rangeman. Affordable price and tons of features, plus it was worn by Chris Hemworth in Extraction (I found out while watching the movie and I was wearing it ). Then my father-in-law wanted it and gifted one to me! I love the comfort on long trips and the stopwatch shortcut. I have had some long trips where I had to sleep with it for over 20 hours.
Nice collection. I only have one G-Shock the Rangeman GW-9400-1, which is basically my daily driver. The other one I'm interested in is the GW-5000u-1 Square. Keep up the good content.
The Frogman is arguably one of my favorite designs as well. I personally like the silhouette of the anadigital display more than the pure digital, but I definitely want to own one some day!
Your enthusiasm is inspiring but when do you wear all these watches? I have a DW5610 and a GBD-200 in lime and with the other goodies i also want to wear, i feel like compromising every day. We have a very special hobby. 😎
Love it! Surprised not to see the 40th anniversary 6640RE as that was special for me in the 90s so sad not to have the original still as it was better looking.. But the anniversary one is constantly out of stock :(
I'm more of a round G-Shock fan personally! I've owned the GA-100, GBD-800, and the GPRB-1000 Rangeman. Personally? The GPRB-1000 has my favorite wear. I'm the odd man out who loves the bulkier cases and diameters of cases. The Rangeman is basically my daily wear when I'm not wearing the GBD-800 for work. I fell out of love with the GA-100 pretty quickly and now I'm beginning to hate the GBD-800. You're totally right about the neg displays. They just SUCK. I'm hopefully gonna get another G-Shock this year just as a beater and give the GBD-800 away! Great vid. Love the G-Shocks!
the protrek prw-30. I recommend the more expensive one with the metal bezel but the full plastic ones with the fabric straps and missing the atomic radio are affordable in comparison. they are much better then the new mudmaster you just reviewed. plus you can get them with positive displays and are very thin for a very tough watch. the only negative might be the 100m et but I've taken my 100m Protreks fishing and swimming and NEVER had an issue.
I love the full metal gold 40th anniversary square that has the gold flecks in it. I've never seen one in person, but that's the watch I'd be most interested in.
Had loads over the years but strangely I'm not a huge fan of the squares. Sold my Rangeman last year and kind of regret that so will get another at some point. Currently have an MTG b3000 and a gd350 blackout. The MTG is lovely with superb attention to detail and finishing and at only 12mm thick it's the most comfortable gshock I've ever owned.
@@S-Ltd1000true indeed. I used to have the negative display model and it was highly usable. Eventually sold it but kept the regular display GD350-1CR. You can’t go wrong with either.
A great set of G shocks. The GW-5000U ia amazing, the best, gotta get one. For the future, a MIP square with tough Solar, atomic etc, with steel screwdown back would be absolute perfection.

Ikr, it has an analog display for a reason
Same here love Casiooaks
I love the comfort and casual feel of the 5000U, but I wish it had the STN display from the GMW-B5000 .
Agreed -- the 7900 Rescue is my fav G-Shock. I've owned several and just received the white one (it is awesome)!
@@marcelovasconcellos6067 Fantastic idea! That is a great one too! The GD350 and the King G-Shock would be good too!
For "smaller" G-Shocks with iconic designs I strongly recommend the DW-9052 and G-2900F.
Another G you need to consider is GD-350-8, lovely legible display it has!
Check one of the latest shows I did;)
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR oh yes, I forgot to have seen that. Lovely!
Great collection! I have around 30 G-shock and my favorite is also DW-5040PG, it's a great simple and beautiful watch!
12:40 Perhaps also have a look at the GBX-100 then. This model has a stainless steel bezel and is built slightly more like standard squares.
I love the retro look of the 5700, fits just like a square. It needs to be more readily available.
Bought my first 'G' a week ago from a large retail outlet - a black G100. Love it! Especially good as in the same town an independent jewellery shop wanted almost the same money for a F-91! 😮
DW5600E-1V square on my wrist. The classic of the brand and only one you need. Thanks MWC you are awesome!
Such a great set of g shocks. I have a dw 5600 ms that I use everyday. Recently I took him to a dive session with a trail in the rocks just after it and stays the same, almost new, watch. I'm proud to say that the squares are the best ones to get into.
Great video. Hope you review the new Casio WS1700H. Picked it up in Gray. I’m liking it, but I always enjoy your perspective
My g shock 35th anniversary ga-835a-1a is my best g shock. Definitely hard to beat in legibility.
Good back light and simple.
Great collection Russ I’ve got some of those try and pick up a 6600, gw200, gw3000, giez 1001. In regards to the G9000 mudman take the bezel off and boil it the button action becomes so much easier 🤙🏻
I have to agree with you once again about the legibility of the new Casio releases. I've noticed it with my ga2300 and dw6600pc5.
Hi Russ, great video as always... but why not try a GW-6900? All the features of a DW but with Solar and MB6. Can't beat that!
If you love the features of the Mudmaster but want a smaller case with a more legible dial give the Pro Trek PRW-50Y
a look. The band is silicone and comfy and it's got sapphire glass. I love mine.
Great video MWC. I’m glad you reviewed the G-Shocks first!
I’d love to see you get and review the following watches:
1. Original Dw-5000c from 1983.
2. Original Frogman from 1993.
Both of the above are still available, if you know where to look.
3. The MRG-B5000d.
4. The MRG-100 from 1996.
Love the channel - keep it going.
Russ, I did a holiday buying guide for Casio on my channel a month ago and featured some of these Casios. Amazing collection!!
I'd recommend GW-9200 Riseman and GW-9110 Gulfman for you to try on. As for me, Rangeman is and will always be my workhorse. And I have GMW-B5000 as my GADA watch. Anyway, love your channel. Looking forward for the next review.
Hi Russ great collection, I wondered if you could tell me what you think of the GW-002E-1VER ? solar and radio controlled, have you had one?
Gotta back the 5610, as it's my own go-to. But the 6900 three-eye featured in MY all time fave movie, and has that Sobchak-faces-in-the-mud charm. Shomer shabbat, Dude!
All the best my friend
superb collection. I hope Casio will release a new frogman gwf d1000 with a slightly smaller diameter
Ever tried the combi bracelet? It's incredible. Also consider giving the mt-g/mr-g models a try. They are incredible
your collection is awesome ... simply awesom. would love to know your thoughts on the new rangeman
Don’t like the heart monitor stuff or the charging particularly but it’s a proper asset to have when hiking those mountains!!
I have broken my New Year’s resolution and bought the GWG 100 for a price I could not refuse I love the green strap and the way the led dial lights up I think it looks a lot more expensive then my new GWG B1000 even though it doesn’t have the same functions which if you use the map log the power of the sun can’t keep up with
this is great my friend! And don't worry when it comes to not buying watches? Casios don't count!!!!:]
Oh! That smaller G looks great. I'll have to check that out for my 5.5 inch wrist. I have the OG square but this smaller one would be nice.
You know, I’ve never owned a ProTrek watch and I’d love to see a proper video on one. Something tells me that they are a bit of a hidden gem. Thoughts?
I love the ones with the big displays they're cool
They are very big and very round! But I’m determined to get into them
Bought the Gshock x Mischief coolab. Loved it for a week 😞 it’s supposed to look faded and does but, oh dearie me it’s drab.
Great show 👍👍
@MWC I think you should get a few MRG watches in your collection. How about a MRG-B5000 to start off with, followed by a MRG-B2000?
Great G-Shock collection MWC! I'm surprised you do not own a G-Shock GD 350. It's one of the best as well! Cheers!
Keep up the good content.
always good to see a frogman in a collection (theyre my personal favourite models)
The Frogman is arguably one of my favorite designs as well. I personally like the silhouette of the anadigital display more than the pure digital, but I definitely want to own one some day!
@@Dreamcaster1990 I hope one day they will introduce a frogman with a MIP display
G shocks just can’t be beat I use my mums that she gave to me she wore it daily for over 32 years and it’s still as good as new
Your enthusiasm is inspiring but when do you wear all these watches?
My favorite is one you don't have - the GD350. I love it for the superchunky retro styling, vibration alarms, world times and fantastic backlight.
Underrated G and one of the very few with a usable negative display.
@@S-Ltd1000true indeed. I used to have the negative display model and it was highly usable. Eventually sold it but kept the regular display GD350-1CR. You can’t go wrong with either.
Hey, as you like the square form-factor and can handle big size models, have you ever considered the GX-56 "King" ?
