In the last fight (1:37:40), Stats makes a wall of forcefields, two of which are just barely in range of his Collosus, which breaks them, allowing the first round of banelings through. I doubt it would have made a difference, but just an interesting detail the casters missed.
I saw it live, maybe the casters did too but didn't have time to properly explain it? It was not exactly easy to miss to anyone familiar with the details of the game. Protoss can be so unforgiving in that way. That battle could of gone a lot better for stats had the banes been more impeded.
Actually, I hope that the rising power of the late toss air army will lead to a change of microbial shroud into something useful. We could enjoy longer and better games. But I am afraid that many ZvPs will result in fast early-mid games due to less experienced Z players tend to rush T in fear of their golden army composition.

That would be awesome if they made a World of StarCraft but were you can travel endless planets like No Man's Sky and chemical tables and Zerg gradually discover various Mutagens but you can also build an army and explore planets with friends, realistic combat with ghosts and firebrats but also creepy vibe .
Is Zerg on timer in SC1? I always thought when Defilers kick in, it’s getting tougher and tougher for Protoss to hold on, whereas in the first minutes P has good chances
@@Merknilash I didn't say SC1 was unbalanced, I just wanted to state that in SC1 Protoss is the one who is on timer chiefly because of defilers. After all, there is a huge contribution of maps in the balance here. A carefully selected map pool will probably equalize everyone's chances but newer maps may give a slight edge to one of the races
I feel like Serral was able to win because there were Koreans in this tournament. Because those Koreans beat the player that Serral often looses to, Reynor. Reynor can beat Serral almost every time, but Reynor also looses every time to the top Koreans. However Serral can dominate the top Koreans. It also helped that the bracket started out with Clem vs Reynor. So one of Serrals biggest rivals would be eliminates right at the start.
Serral has said himself that "it's nice to avoid Reynor in brackets because his ZvZ is poison" (he said it in a Finnish interview after this series, Clem on the other hand he was not worried about as he had made adjustments). So Reynor style is very difficult for Serral, but overall against other top opponents Serral is stronger than Reynor. As a Serral fan I hope to see Serral find adjustments needed to start beating Reynor consistently but I am also happy that there is a nemesis, keeps it interesting :)
Serral's like the Roger Federer of SC2. He dominates pretty much everyone but has that one nemesis who keeps pulling him up short (Reynor for Serral, Rafa Nadal for Federer).
vision and speed are two of the most important thing and there is one unit which give them both without mineral cost. In other words, you know from where your openenet attack, you have the movement speed to put units right in time, explode your opponent mineral line with just 2 banes at the same time and become the champion.
Problem is zerg got massive nerf followed by massive nerf followed by massive nerf followed by terran and protoss getting buffed. Zerg needed some nerfs probably, maybe. Protoss needed some buffs for sure, terran I don't think they did. That said all those nerfs hit zergs late game WAY harder than non zerg want to admit. They should have gotten buffs to their less useful units to compensate.
Of course you want the iconic duo casting every sc2 match. But they need a day off every now and then lol. Once you get better at SC2 the casters don't matter as much since your understanding of the game mechanics can stand on it's own without announcers telling you what is happening on the screen.
No buffer at the end of the video? You must know this, but adding between ten and sixty minutes of blank space at the end of these prevents spoilers. I guess this channel doesn't care?

Honestly the casting sucks when it's not in front of a cheering crowd, mostly because of how the casters cast differently. They don't have the same level of energy or excitement. This grand finals felt like nothing special

Baneling is such a ridiculous unit. works for defense, offense, on every single ground unit, buildings and smashes worker line in no time whatsoever. On the homefront queens will defend against anything pretty much with ease and still have other uses on top. its basically a moving photoncannon/batteryshield combined but better lol. These are just cookie cutter units that are far to effective, with far to much utility, and therefore in far to many scenarios. Zerg not op my ass...
You also have to remember that Banelings have the flaw of being required to focus attack key units to trade effectively...and are technically melee. The best way to fight Banelings is to see what units they're being locked onto, then move those units away as your other units attack and kill them since they're rather frail. You can also just space out your units so that the banelings don't make use of their splash and thus trade very inefficiently. Or just make air. Another thing to remember is that Zerg pretty much now has no lategame since nearly every single Hive unit has gotten a nasty nerf in some way to be a shadow of what they once were. Zerg's lategame is...making more midgame. For the most part, Zerg are only good when microed super efficiently, while Protoss and Terran both can eventually reach a point where they can just A move to win with a big enough mass of lategame units. Zerg is straight up useless without a lot of really, REALLY good micro, but they're nuts with said micro.
obviously you haven't kept up with the meta and balance. currently protoss is favoured in the lategame and tries to rush to get there and zerg is always trying to end the game before then.

Hydras (a suboptimal option in the first place) get stormed, corrupters run into big problems vs. the now competitive voidrays, infestors have become pretty much useless vs. protoss air, vipers get feedbacked. On equal skill level, there really isnt a good counter anymore vs a protoss lategame army for zerg.

I love how the casters are like serral or stats shouldn't have done that, he really should have done this and he would have done more damage. 🤪🙄 They are pro gamers not fortune tellers they make what they think is the best move in the moment. If I knew when and how I'd lose my units I'd not do that dummy.
