Chinese is the language most widely spoken in the world, with over 1.6 billion speakers. Therefore, most people in China do not need to learn foreign languages. China has not colonized any other country for 5000 years, hence the language has not gained widespread popularity. It is the official language of China and is extensively utilized in Singapore, Malaysia, and other Chinese communities. Nowadays, numerous countries have started promoting Chinese as a second language in their primary and secondary schools.
I'd say there are significantly more than 1.6 billion Mandarin speakers as there are Chinese people in nearly every country around the world. For example, in Australia, we have over 1.3 million Chinese people as of 2023 😊
I can tell the dumplings are 100% handmade. They look so authentic and delicious. And you guys are pro. Taking a small bite and dipping it in the sauce is the most delicious way to eat it. The sauce will go into the fillings and the whole dumpling will be full of the flavor of the sauce.
Enjoy your epic journey throughout China! You should visit Xinjiang, Tibet, those more controversial areas(controversial because of western media), explore the vastly different beauty and diverse cultures, and spread out the truth about China. I really enjoyed your videos
Genuinly Xinjiang is a beautiful place. It's a shame that it's been completely misconstrued but the food, the nature and the landscape is just gorgeous. My point is It has so much to offer than "debunking western myths" 😂
I am from Yining, Xinjiang Province, China. I used to live in Korla, perhaps better known as Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang. I would say that my hometown is no different from most cities except for the special nationality and culture. This, of course, is perfectly normal for China itself. For example: North and South culture, East and West culture, 56 different ethnic cultures and so on. In addition, our policies attach importance to national equality and national unity, so that different cultures are never erased. Instead, we look forward to a world where tolerance and diversity coexist. As for the ban on speaking your mother tongue is wrong, China is a vast country with many dialects, both in Xinjiang and the mainland, people tend to receive modern Chinese education and advocate speaking Mandarin for communication. Even if you do not know Mandarin, we will respect each other, just as you will receive warm hospitality in our country. In my primary and secondary schools, I gained many minority friends, we grew up together, live together, they also love our country. BTW, some herdsmen still retain their faith, they love the nomadic life, they can overcome the difficulties of ordinary people's eyes to live on the top of the mountains, some herdsmen have also been urbanized, living in nearby counties and towns, occasionally they will accept the help of tourism, farming has long been produced by big machines, relatively speaking, Our country also has a lot of preferential policies for ethnic minorities. For example, considering the language and cultural differences, they can enjoy unconditional bonus points due to their ethnic identity in the most rigorous examination in China, the college entrance examination, and enter a good university with a relatively low score. In addition, they also enjoy benefits in terms of employment policy. Anyway, we are experiencing joys and sorrows just like any human being in the world.
I was going to recommend those two places, too. Especially Xin Jiang, only driving through the Tian Shan Mountain is already breathtaking, unfortunately I went to Russia and Canada after this Xin Jiang trip, I wish I had gone to Xin Jiang later on, so that I could enjoy more of the sceneries in those two beautiful countries.
5-star hotels like this easily go to 200-500 USD in US. A horrifying reason for this could be that usd to rmb is about 3-6x overvalued. And if you apply this to gdp, it is really horrifying.
In China, even the prices of hotels of the same grade can vary a lot depending on the city and region. If it's in the central areas of Shanghai or Beijing, the prices should be similar to what you mentioned in the U.S.
@@rickywux Not really, prices are $300 to $500 per night everywhere in the us for hotels that aren't even half as nice, if it's in nyc or somewhere similar then it's probably $600-$1000 per night for hotels that aren't even as nice.

I will definitely visit this city over and over again. My first visit to Chongqing took place at the beginning of the 90s, then Chongqing was largely a backward rural-like place, which did not impress me very much.

The traditional Chinese concept of "Feng Shui", in the consciousness of the ancient Chinese, Feng Shui is a mysterious force of nature, through artificial modification of the layout of certain buildings, can modify the impact of Feng Shui, for example, this hotel set up in the lobby of the hotel pools, rockeries and fish, is a kind of modification of the embodiment of the Feng Shui, but also a kind of Feng Shui culture into the architectural design of an example of architectural design, through which the designers and users believe that it can give them wealth and good luck. Nice video! Thank you. I'm a Chinese and I stayed in Dublin for 3 months last year. Dublin is a great city with distinct difference view at different district. I like Phoenix Park a lot. And all people I met are so kind. The Chinese food in Dublin is also pretty authentic. But I have to say the hotels in Dublin is really expensive. I remember it costs more than 120 euros per night so I turned to a short term rental and shared a house with others. Another impressive thing was that once in a Chinese restaurant, an Irishman sitting at the table next to mine told me about the history of Ireland's liberation from Britain, saying that both Ireland and China had been colonized by Britain in the past, and that this was a pain to them.
I have been following you on TH-cam for a long time. This is the first time I leave you a message. First of all, I welcome you to travel to China and witness a warm, civilized and enterprising Chinese land. Secondly, I am moved by your sincere, kind and optimistic personality. It is true that people from all countries in the world have different cultural backgrounds, different folk customs and different national management systems. It is these differences that are worth understanding and experiencing. China is definitely a country for you to experience and travel to tell the Western world a real China. Finally, I wish you happiness, health and safety in the next journey! If you encounter difficulties and confusion, please seek help from relatively young people. They are more likely to understand English. English is a compulsory course starting from the first grade of elementary school. This is not an unsolvable problem!
In China nowadays especially when you are in the city, there is no such thing as difficult to travel to anywhere anymore. When there is no subway, you can always take taxi or Didi (Chinese Uber) and they are very affordable. The shortest ride I had on a Didi was about 3-4 km ride. It cost $1 US.

Jiuzhaigou is a better choice than Zhangjiajie, especially in the hot summer. There are the most beautiful plateau lakes in the world. In the 1980s, when China just opened up, the only scenic spots promoted to the world were Guilin and Jiuzhaigou. Later, Zhangjiajie replaced Jiuzhaigou. In addition to the snow-capped mountains and huge glacier landscapes, the hot springs there are also very good
For transaction fee, I would recommend you to use your foreign credit card directly. Most of the upscale hotel will support foreign credit cards without additional charge. Same approach if you are going to buy anything expensive, check with the merchant whether they accept foreign credit card. If they do, use your cards directly.

Because the U.S. government and specifically NY in this case tax us to death to pay for their crap and pensions. How else can the number one economy in the world look like a third world country?
If there's no fridge in your room, you can always ask hotel reception for help. Usually they would love to offer help. I stored my icecream in their kitchen freezer last time when I stayed in a hutong kind of hotel in BeiJing.
Regarding the engine sound, I can explain that the fuel used by buses and old taxis in Chongqing is natural gas, which is actually a clean energy. However, the fuel tank cannot have a large capacity, so it can only be used in the local bus system, but now they are slowly switching to electric car.
Chongqing has a nickname - "mountain city". There is a large fluctuation in terrain, so buses need greater power to go up and down hills. The power of EV buses cannot get it done. That's why there are still triditional buses.
In China, the majority of people in their forties and fifties typically cannot speak English. Those in their twenties and thirties can communicate in basic English, as it was a mandatory subject in middle school, but as they age and use it less frequently, they tend to forget it. Teenagers are likely capable of understanding basic English conversations, provided that it is spoken slowly. The primary reason young people feel hesitant speaking English is due to a lack of confidence in their accents.

I watched your new video almost immediately, you are near my hometown, it was great to see you exploring here, it was very interesting. Don't buy the bright red fruit on the street, you've seen it in Chengdu, it's expensive and not tasty
you can ask for ano smoking room and in china tip is not necessary even in upscale hotel
Nice Video!

Oh, you visited my hometown! 😊Chongqing is a city that is still developing. Although there are many shortcomings in infrastructure and human care, it is indeed a very unique and warm-hearted city! I recommend you visit the Mountain City Footpath(ShanChengBuDao) and the Second Factory(ErChang). I hope you have a great time!!!
I am from Chongqing. Welcome to Chongqing, China! Enjoy your journey!
King size bed in China is a super common thing with good hotel. when I travel to other countries in which I can not find k in g size bed for my wife and I, we just can not fall asleep. it’s crazy for two to sleep in queen or double bed omg
We always ask for 2 single beds, easier that way.

560 rmb for a 5 star hotel is normal price. The most expensive 5 star hotel with breakfast in my city is 668 rmb. The cheapest is 386 rmb. Can you already count to 10 in Chinese on one hand?
There are many small hotels and bnbs in city center with wonderful river and skyline view
It’s better not to recommend small hotel which won’t have good safety, service and cleanness, absolutely no airbnb in China. since three four five stars hotels are cheap in China, there is no reason of recommending them to stay at poor quality airbnb
@@sunjy9522 come on, many bnbs in chongqing have great view and great value especially in Chongqing. i stayed in many bnbs while i was travelling in europe and its much better than hotels, hosts will give many food recommodations, sometimes even cook for us.

If you stay in the city center, you will miss many natural attractions, such as the Black Valley and the Leshan Giant Buddha.
As you live outskirts/rural area of ChongQing, did you find it's difficult traveling to downtown of ChongQing?
中国任何城市都出行方便,你甚至可以坐无人驾驶的出租车❤
In China nowadays especially when you are in the city, there is no such thing as difficult to travel to anywhere anymore. When there is no subway, you can always take taxi or Didi (Chinese Uber) and they are very affordable. The shortest ride I had on a Didi was about 3-4 km ride. It cost $1 US.
Although it is the outskirt, CRT line 9 has a station very close to the hotel.

It's a pity.Apart from the disputed Xizang and Xinjiang, Sichuan and Yunnan have the best natural scenery in China Chengdu is probably the most tourist-friendly Provincial capital city in China. Jiuzhaigou or Kangding are only a few hours drive from Chengdu. The ancient town of MOXI磨西, located at the foot of the 7,500-meter Minya Konka, is worth a visit.

Why I can not have such hotel in the USA? I paid 250 for an old motel room in up state NY last year.
Because the U.S. government and specifically NY in this case tax us to death to pay for their crap and pensions. How else can the number one economy in the world look like a third world country?
If you`re planning to China,I am glad to help. ❤❤❤Love from China

If there's no fridge in your room, you can always ask hotel reception for help. Usually they would love to offer help. I stored my icecream in their kitchen freezer last time when I stayed in a hutong kind of hotel in BeiJing.
Seeing the Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie photographed by them, it is perfect, will you go
Regarding the engine sound, I can explain that the fuel used by buses and old taxis in Chongqing is natural gas, which is actually a clean energy.
比较推荐一家位于大渡口区的“将好火锅馆”微辣的话,还可以,主要是汤底地道,食材非常新鲜爽脆

In China, the majority of people in their forties and fifties typically cannot speak English. Those in their twenties and thirties can communicate in basic English, as it was a mandatory subject in middle school, but as they age and use it less frequently, they tend to forget it. Teenagers are likely capable of understanding basic English conversations, provided that it is spoken slowly. The primary reason young people feel hesitant speaking English is due to a lack of confidence in their accents.

This is the May Day holiday. If it were not a holiday, a hotel with a price of thirty or forty dollars would also be at this 90% level.
