Well here is a special video I've been working on!
Tom Meents is one of my favourite drivers in all of Monster Jam history, so today, I wanted to make a video talking about the evolution of his career!

For me honestly, the GOAT of monster jam will forever be a tie between Dennis Anderson and Tom Meants. Legendary drivers.

@@justinwilliams9262 yeah Tom has 14 chips, but Dennis Anderson literally created a staple of modern monster jam, FREESTYLE. That's why Dennis is known as the Father of freestyle, Dennis is the GOAT no question.

Just like every other sport, Championships are the most important accomplishment.
Tom has 14 Championships to Dennis 4.
Plus in like 80 percent of there races against each other Tom won.
Tom dominated Monster Jam like no other driver ever has and definitely a better driver then Dennis.
I feel like Tom meets and Dennis Anderson are on the same level as Michael Jordan and lebron james. One has more chips but the other has more quality moments that wowed the fans.
Tom definitely leads both of those. He was the stunt man

4:29 was the first moment that made me stop in awe at how good Meents is. He is the Ric Flair of the sport.
Ric flair is ass thus dude is the Ali of monster jam. WWE are not athletes nor wrestlers.

I met Tom Meents at a small event in Florida when I as a kid. The man was super nice and put on a great show even though I'm sure it wasn't a very lucrative!
I met Tom in person at a show in Tampa in either 2018 or 2019, shook hands with him and god damn is he strong.
Tom Meents' run in Pittsburgh in 1988 is what really started his career. He finished second behind only Tom Martin in Mud Patrol. Bigfoot was the winner in the monster truck portion of that show.
I was only 7 years old but I was there and remember it. It was awesome!
I remember meeting Tom Meents in person when I was in Las Vegas and my Dad took a photo and I used it as a Wallpaper for my old computer but I totally screwed it up but the memory will be remembered in my head.

That Tom Meents is so unstoppable. Out of control. A man on a mission.
I'll never forget any of these trucks being revealed to the small stadium of Peoria, IL. They had what felt like 200x200 to work with and Tom just went BONKERS every time.

Tom Meents has been my inspiration growing up, he doesn't give a crap if the truck is low on fuel he would drive until the truck stops.

It helped that a lot of top trucks from the late 90s weren't booked on tv against Goldberg because of merchandising contracts. It took a couple of years for the new field on tv to catch up to Tom's speed.

I'm just gonna come out and say it, But for a while, I wasn't really the biggest fan of Meents for a short while due to the fact that at the World Finals, He just felt like he was "showing off" in racing since won 3 Racing Championships in a span of 4 years from 2009 to 2012. I will say that as time has gone on, My admiration for his truck (Max-D) and him as a driver has gone up over the years since he's more focused on giving his best effort rather winning all the time, Which in my opinion is what really matters at the end of the day.
The GOAT has to be Dennis Anderson! Even Meents drove GD!!! Dennis laid the foundation for what it is now

god, seeing him drive on 3 wheels seemingly at least every other week misses that, seeing as in st louis he blew a shock out, not even hanging off the truck and the USHRA officials rii'd him, he fired back up, made a hit and was shut down mid air (really safe for his back, he lied).
I remember reading that Meents had Maximum Destruction ready for 2002 but used Team Meents as a stopgap because 9/11 made destroying things to the maximum not exactly kosher for a while.
This was actually really interesting and brought a lot of nostalgia

Of all the trucks Tom has ever driven.
"Goldberg" is the only one I never got to see. Also the only name I didn't really care for nor like. Yet fell in love with the "Team Meents" truck. How does that happen.
But my all time favorite he has ever driven is the truck that started it all for him "Monster Patrol"
It was a weird time in Monster Jam where it was partnered with the WCW. Many monster trucks served as a sponsorship for wrestlers, and were the corporate sponsored concept trucks of the day. My favorite is probably the late 2002 Maximum Destruction, as i met Tom in person for the first time in Red Bluff CA, and got to see Max D before it was featured on TV. Lost all my memorabilia of that in the California fires, but still have fond memories of Tom.
Always been a monster truck fan. But what’s really weird is Paul schafer is the father of a well known late model driver in my area. I’m a big racing fan so it’s weird how 2 paths cross

the only think is now with the ridiculous safety, even he is rii'd for tie rods and stuff. other than that, which isn't his fault, he still puts on a hell of a show each weekend!

Safety is so important when you have 30’000 people in the audience sorry that the people in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s were mentally retarded to think what they were doing was remotely safe! You want no rules they should do it at Atlanta type set ups so fans can’t get hurt!

As a kids I HATED MaxD and for a good while as will as Grave Digger because they won so much, now that I’m older I’ve grown to respect them
I Feel Like The Maximum Destruction On WF2003 Maximum Destruction 2004 since the debut was in houston and ir had white lines and a darker color with the same beadlocks that nwo uses
I kind of feel like you missed what monster jam actually is! It’s chaos anything can happen and a truck can break or get unlucky and does regularly so for him to not “keep his dominance going” is untrue it was simply statistics that he would not be able to and the following 10 plus years have shown that the best driver in monster jam doesn’t always one the world finals!
what happens if in the Max-D 20th Aniversary encore can be an special appearence of "Goldberg and Team Meents"

With 9/11 occuring halting maximum, and the goldberg and SFX sponsorship had just ended, it was probably a ticking time bomb to actually come up with a name and I'm almost positive that was last minute.
