    Linsey Weenk, Neil Elliott, Scott Hartsock (RIP), George Balhan, Dawn Creten, Candice Jolly, Marc McDonald, Chad Fortune, there are so many who've never won a title. Some have come close, others haven't.

      I would say Lee O'Donnell should be among some of the greatest drivers never to win a World Championship, But some probably wouldn't agree with me and just like Pablo Huffaker and Charlie Pauken before him, He would eventually win a World Championship at World Finals 18.

    Clear Candidate? Linsey was nice but neil was in an entirely different ball park. He was basically a 1b option to Tom Meents 1a. The only back up driver I wasn't disappointed to have over the main one. He was almost just as good.

  • @AlanNadeauIII

    Weenk's Monster Jam career can be summed up like a lot of pro sports teams.
    You have a great regular season, everything is going your way headed into the playoffs (or in Weenk's case, the World Finals)
    Then you make the dance, and go out not with a bang, but a whimper. Sure you put up a fighting chance but in the end it isn't enough.
    As UrinatingTree likes to say about the Minnesota Wild, "Close...but never close enough."
    The sad part is that Weenk may not get another chance, seeing as how he's out of the sport

  • @sinistersmallblock

    I think Marc Mcdonald in the Safe Auto Minimizer is definitely a contender. He was absolutely lethal in racing. But there is another name....Tony Farrell (God rest his soul). That man reminded me of Andy Brass in Bigfoot!

    I think Camden Murphy is in contention of the title "the greatest driver never to win a world title".
    He placed 4th in racing after red lipping in 2019.
    He placed 2nd in freestyle and high jump in 2019.
    He shows great moments every time he competes.
    He cannot only drive trucks but he can drive anything with a wheel on it

  • @rainbowrunner1550
    @rainbowrunner1550 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think Blue Thunder deserves the title of the greatest Monster Jam truck to never win a championship. This especially applies to Linsey Weenk, but Blue Thunder has come close to championships at the World Finals with other drivers too.
    - 2001: Lyle Hancock (Returned after Pablo Huffaker crashed Blacksmith in Round 2, then won against Brian Barthel in Wolverine in the Semi Finals with the shortened track due to the water leak in Thunder Alley. Then he lost in the Championship Race to Tom Meents in Goldberg after bicycling slightly in the turn, flipping the truck over after crossing the finish line).
    - 2002: Lyle Hancock (Despite being out of Racing, he got Blue Thunder fixed for Freestyle. Lyle tied with Pablo Huffaker in Blacksmith for 3rd place with a 35, particularly after rolling over when he tried to go over the big jump the opposite way. Then Tom Meents in Team Meents would try the same thing in his run and succeed in getting over, leading to him winning the title).
    - 2003: Lyle Hancock (He once again got 3rd place in Freestyle with a 34. He ended his run with a cyclone donut that ultimately resulted in him flipping over).
    - 2005: Tony Farrell (Farrell had the "Wow!" moment in Freestyle with him jumping the gigantic semi trailer. He rolled over when he tried going over the other way though. This gave him a score of 31, tied with Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter for the lead. But Creten ended up winning the tiebreaker since his lowest score from the judges was a 7 compared to 6 from Farrell).
    - 2008: Linsey Weenk (He got 4th in Freestyle with a 30, tied with Dennis Anderson in Grave Digger).
    - 2009: Linsey Weenk (He made the Semi Finals, but lost to Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse. Like the previous year, Weenk got 4th in Freestyle, this time with a 28).
    - 2010: Linsey Weenk (He once again made the Semi Finals in Racing, but narrowly lost to Tom Meents in Maximum Destruction).
    - 2013: Pablo Huffaker (He made a solid Freestyle run with a 30. Pablo got 29 in regulation time and got only 1 bonus point due to the truck breaking early. Had he filled bonus time, Pablo could've at least tied with Tom Meents in Max-D, who got a 34 and won the title).

      I think Linsey Weenk should become the driver of the on-hiatus truck, Pirate's Curse and here's why. When Pirate's Curse debuted in 2016, I was a big fan of it for its radical design and I still am a fan of it to this day. But Pirate's Curse gradually fell out of the spotlight after 2018, And with rookie Justin Hicks being let go by Feld due to the pandemic, I feel that having a more well known driver be behind the wheel of a lesser-known truck would be a good idea and help in boosting a truck's popularity.

    • @AlanNadeauIII
      @AlanNadeauIII 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a few different names that fall into that category. If you were to talk about regular season consistency leading into the Finals, and just coming up short there, it's Weenk.
      The thing with Elliott is that he spent so much of his career under the MAX-D banner, and while he did get to drive Hot Wheels at the Finals sometimes and later raced his own MAX-D truck there, imagine what could have happened if he was in other trucks more often. More WF appearances as a driver, more chances to win

    • @furioussherman7265
      @furioussherman7265 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlanNadeauIII You make a good point, but you're selling Neil Elliott short. I'd say both were about equal with regards to racing (which says more about Weenk than Elliott, IMO), but Weenk typically won freestyles only if whoever was in Grave Digger and/or Maximum Destruction didn't pop off on their run. Neil Elliott, more often than not, was one of the guys who would pop off and keep Weenk from winning freestyles, on top of being a regular threat to win racing. If you look at runs like Orlando 2012 or WF18, Linsey Weenk simply was never able to be as amazing as Neil Elliott was.
