I honestly like the older, less angry design better. Probably because of pure nostalgia, and the legendary 2010 World Finals Freestyle win with Charlie Pauken behind the wheel. I had that DVD as a kid and that shit literally blew my mind.
As it was still based of regular car body, it had style of old fighter plane with those painted on teeths. New is just one of the 3D trucks, and not most beautiful design in that category either
Fun fact: Monster Mutt was going to be the star in the cancelled Monster Jam movie, It was going be remote controlled by a young boy and his sister. But, unfortunately it was cancelled due to unknown reasons...
@@ericfording3556 Interesting story. The Herbie Love Bug movie originally was going to have a sports car and a whole different name. They set multiple cars in a walkway and watched people as they went through to see which cars they liked. One just happened to be a VW bug. People admired the sports cars but everyone was "lovingly" touching the bug. They changed the whole production based on just that.
Fun facts: the Mercury body was originally themed as "The Incredible Hulk." At the same time, Jim Koehler and Chris Bergeron were showing the concept art for Brutus to Monster Jam. When the Hulk deal fell apart, miraculously Monster Mutt came about. This is why in the early days of Brutus, the tailgate depicted a dog tag stating "I AIN'T NO MUTT!!!!"
Part of what was so charming about Monster Mutt was he still retained the look of the body he was made from. Plenty of trucks have the custom character bodies with the big windshields, but Monster Mutt with his narrow windows and classic body was iconic. It fit in with his theming, and really harkened back to older trucks.
I grew up watching that 51 chop top Merc, was my favorite truck during my childhood and always wanted to see it win a World Finals, saying I was happy when it did would be an understatement, Charlie knew how to drive that mutt well despite how terrible the visibility was, also Sting was one of my favorite trucks, so seeing that that chassis was eventually used for Monster Mutt as well is pretty interesting
Was a fan of MM a lil before they phased out the original look and I loved it so much so that I only buy the older version merch. My Monster Mutt '02 metal hot wheels will always be my pride and joy
I miss the mercury body for Monster Mutt and MM Dalmatian. My mom had a Dalmatian named Pepper and a goldie named Ginger when I was a kid. Ginger had a darker coat that reminded me of Monster Mutt. I remember watching World Finals 9 as a kid and being excited that Dalmatian cleared the buses, telling mom "Look! Pepper made the jump!"
What about Monster Mutt Poodle? Both might be cool to be in there. And there is a new Monster Mutt for the die cast line for Spin Master Monster Jam which is Monster Mutt Golden Retriever. I dont know what it'll look like, but I'll try to find it
gotta give it to the drivers that drove the merc based MM. very challenging to see out of it, much like TimeFlies. Charlie literally lets the dog out when he's in a Mutt
my two most favorite designs for monster mutt have to be the original mercury body for both the original monster mutt, and the original monster mutt dalmatian, both of them just look SOO good.
I cannot believe it to this day that mastermind has not only had the most drivers, but the most body changes I mean it’s been added over and over and over onto a different chassis no wonder….
Maaaaan I miss those good old days. Where they used cars, vans, busses and rvs. It's gone downhill so much. It's monster jam not motor cross. Lose the hills.
I’d really love a history of Jim Koehler and all of avenger and team scream. Mainly because the 2017 world finals section would be insane due to Jim making it to semi finals in racing and top 3 in freestyle (2017 was my favorite world finals 😅)
I think the original Monster Mutt is a beagle, also I just love the USHRA official throwing the dog a bone, I also hope that Rottweiler, Dalmatian, Dalmatian Ice and Junkyard Dog got the bone throw
It feels like the old version got replaced since all the new ones look more better in design and the old one is now called junkyard dog must be proving they replaced him
Excuse me but do you know what song that is when you are talking about junkyard dog? I've heard it on the soundtrack for urban assault and I wanna add it to my Spotify
I do want to make a note before Monster Mutt there was already a truck in Pennsylvania a tough truck called pink puppy that had the whole dog theme going and also was throwing the bone long before Monster Mutt this person actually had a bone launcher in the back but before they built that they did actually throw it and this was in the'90s to early 2000s
You forgot on Spin Master toy trucks Monster Mutt Ice, Rottweiler Fire, Husky Fire, Zombie Mutt, Rottweiler, and Dalmation, and Mini Monster Mutt' include Gold. On the video games from Monster Jam 2007 to Steel Titans 2 had at least 2 or more Mutts!
I honestly like the older, less angry design better. Probably because of pure nostalgia, and the legendary 2010 World Finals Freestyle win with Charlie Pauken behind the wheel. I had that DVD as a kid and that shit literally blew my mind.

That is still my fave
The old less angry design is my favorite because it what I grew up with

loved it when Charlie did the chuckie dance

@Gravezillaprime 2001 To think, the entire production of a movie depended on how well a truck did in freestyle...

One of the dumbest plots I've ever heard.
I think I got canceled because monster mutt didn’t do great at the world finals ( I think 3)

13:06 Knuckles... lol, when he said jim koehler drove knuckles the monster mutt" that got me 😂
Admittedly Monster Mutt will be remembered as the most iconic truck of the last decade, regardless if it was successful or not

original Monster Mutt when looking at the side: Grr, I’m a scary dog
original Monster Mutt when looking at the front: *m l e m*
This needs to be said:
What the dog doin?
idk
🤣
The real question is, which dog is doin
@@MonsterTalkOfficial the world may never know...😔
The older body styles just looked so much better.
Facts
Agreed
I think the only exception to that is the regular 3d monster mutt
the windshield was the only problem with the older body style but other than that i agree with you 100%

Do either ELtoroloco or Scarlet Bandit next.
Bro snuck in scarlets bandit
True
Just do both of them
Grave digger
Adam Anderson cleared the triple bus jump in World finals 2008 driving Taz. He did it after Chad Tingler did.
Taz hit the jump, but the back wheels caught and sent him into the slap wheelie. Mutt was only truck to go dirt ramp to dirt ramp
@@davidalm7971 True, but Tingler also caught the third bus a little. Adam completely cleared the bus though it was mashed.
3:09 That one didn't age quite so well... 😕
I think Blue Thunder would ne a cool truck to look at its history. Also Zombie, Max-D, El Toro Loco and Avenger
I'd like everyone to agree with me on this: Original/Classic is always better for today's same old "Future".
the bone throw is nostalgic
0:37 Thanks for the nightmares!
Happy 20th Anniversary, Monster Mutt!!
Awww, I really wanted to see a life size version of Monster Mutt Husky and Monster Mutt Poodle
Also I’d like to see a timeline of El Toro Loco
Ahhh 2016...back when they weren't afraid to build a massive backflip ramp on both sides of a double-decker bus.
It’s crazy how such an iconic monster jam truck has such a difficult time keeping a full time driver.
That All-Star challenge freestyle by Gauthier is without a doubt why there’s a 30-second rule now
didn't know Chad Reed drove! thank you monster talk - you are a source!
love how they throw the bone out for the truck to drive out
Was a fan of MM a lil before they phased out the original look and I loved it so much so that I only buy the older version merch. My Monster Mutt '02 metal hot wheels will always be my pride and joy
If Pauken drives Monster Mutt now, put him in Junkyard Dog. The old Merc body and his wily veteran status honestly go well together.
I can't believe that Junkyard Dog retired the same year it debuted
I want monster mutt husky to be a real truck
Me too
It's my main truck in Steel Titans 2
I do too it's the only truck I use in steel titans
What about Monster Mutt Poodle? Both might be cool to be in there. And there is a new Monster Mutt for the die cast line for Spin Master Monster Jam which is Monster Mutt Golden Retriever. I dont know what it'll look like, but I'll try to find it
@@BlazerStudio1048 ok cool I can't wait to see what it looks like
BRO THE HELL
Love the music from the old monster jam games playing in the background
i put the deadest joke in the stream chat lol
Somehow, I don't remember Todd Frolik driving monster mutt at the world finals despite me watching it multiple times.
You should do gunslinger in memory of Scott hartsock
I forgot he passed :(
Monster mutt with the mercury coupe body kit looked so much better
indeed. the 3d body MM looks goofy, too cartoony. we already had scooby doo for that, shouldve left Scooby to be the goofy looking dog themed 3d truck
gotta give it to the drivers that drove the merc based MM. very challenging to see out of it, much like TimeFlies. Charlie literally lets the dog out when he's in a Mutt

And i noticed that dalmatians tail for the 2007 season was a lot thinner than the regular mutts tail.
Dustin brown is so underrated as a driver
My favorite monster trucks are. Bigfoot, snakebite, gravedigger, monster mutt, avenger & El Toro.
Just awesome truck designs.
I quite like the 3d designs, as I grew up with them, all besides monster mutt, his old design was much better. His 3d is still good tho
Monster mutt is one of the few trucks I like the newer design better for
Can you do avenger evolution?
my two most favorite designs for monster mutt have to be the original mercury body for both the original monster mutt, and the original monster mutt dalmatian, both of them just look SOO good.
I love the new body's of monster muts
I cannot believe it to this day that mastermind has not only had the most drivers, but the most body changes I mean it’s been added over and over and over onto a different chassis no wonder….
i miss Candice in the Dalmation and Charlie in Monster Mutt
They should seriously consider having Husky and Poodle as real trucks and not just Diecast trucks
Next should be Team 2Xtreme. Would love to see them get some recognition
Monster mutt was my favourite truck
best driver for this truck was charlie he’s who i will always remember as the driver of this truck💪🏽
God what I would do to get the chance to drive one of these trucks😂
I was actually talking to chad tingler last week about that massive jump at world finals. He’s such a nice guy
Sonic the El Toro Loco/ Tails the Max-D/ Eggman the Grave Digger
A truck history video on overkill evolution or son-uva-digger would be cool
One of my favorite trucks
I think we all gave the monster mutts a name at one point or another
My friend cooper his dad Rod Shimit drove. Lol
Cool video good job 👍🏻
Maaaaan I miss those good old days. Where they used cars, vans, busses and rvs. It's gone downhill so much. It's monster jam not motor cross. Lose the hills.
Monster mutt started out as a 1950 street rod
I know the current driver of Dalmatian crazy didn’t know it had that much history behind it
All of monster mutts in salinas
Monster mutt (brown) - 2006
Monster mutt (brown) - 2011
Monster mutt (Rottweiler) - 2015
Monster mutt (new brown) - 2017
My favorite Monster Jam truck!
Make a evolution of GRAVE DIGGER
He already did

Honestly, a pretty cool truck but not one of my favorites but a legendary truck
2:57 what track is that?
I think the original Monster Mutt is a beagle, also I just love the USHRA official throwing the dog a bone, I also hope that Rottweiler, Dalmatian, Dalmatian Ice and Junkyard Dog got the bone throw
I'm kinda heartbroken brown never continued to drive JYD after the 2016 season.
Would love for them to run poodle and husky even if it's just for a year, think it would be a good alternative to the stable
The og mutts look so cute
Am I the only one that likes Junkyard Dog more than regular Mutt
Man, there were A LOT of Monster Mutt drivers. How many in all were there?
@@ryanmcmillin5313 Yeah, the windshield is tiny!
Didn't Tingler sub for Jolly one of those first two WF w/the Dalmnation due to Jolly being injured?
But what happened to monster mutt junkyard dog Did they retire that truck or is it still running
Truck retired unfortunately. Pretty much ran 3 months and was never used again
@@MonsterTalkOfficial now they need to retire MM dalmatian. worn out its welcome
Feel like there needs to be a monster mutt dashund based off a limo
That would be awesome, but the wheelbase would be too long.

This isn't a specific truck, but do an evolution video on Frank Krmel.
I didn’t know Ryan Anderson drove monster mutt
You forgot one part that Mike Vaters SR drove Monster Mutt Rottweiler for 2015 on his Black Stallion chassis. And Charlie Pauken finished 2nd.
Monster Mutt just doesn't feel the same with the 3D bodies. I'm old school, so I prefer the classic choptop Merc style Mutts
Even tho son-uva is a new truck debuting around 2012-13 and has one driver and design only u should do one on that
I’d like to see overkill evolution since v2 vids owns it and I’d like to see his history and maybe higher education next since school is starting.
