Amanda’s professional background began in the giddy world of TV Commercial Production, where as a Producer she worked with many big brand clients and filmed in locations around the globe.
What was intended as a brief hiatus to start a family, transpired to be a change of career in an unexpected way. Whilst on her maternity leave, media reporting on the urgency of the climate crisis was ramping up. Driven by apprehension for what the future might hold for her young daughter, Amanda was compelled to take action. And so JUST ONE Tree was born: A non-profit initiative removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reversing biodiversity-loss through global reforestation. Founded on the principle that “small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world”, JUST ONE Tree allows people and companies to become part of the solution. With just £1 planting 1 tree, it encourages large-scale minimal participation and simplifies the process for everyone to get involved. In just 4.5 years, JUST ONE Tree has emerged as a beacon of hope, having planted almost 4 million trees, earned recognition as a vital partner in the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and seeing businesses from all backgrounds uniting under the JUST ONE Tree banner. Their educational programme - JUST ONE Tree Day - has been held in schools across the UK and as far as Canada and China - an event which has brought JUST ONE Tree’s environmental resources into classrooms and helped ignite passion for environmental stewardship in over 220,000 children.
Amanda’s commitment to effecting positive change resonates in her role as a sought-after speaker, addressing audiences ranging from school children to corporate leaders, including prestigious platforms like the Bank of England. Her tireless dedication has garnered accolades, including being nominated as Woman of the Year, affirming her status as a trailblazer in the fight against climate change. Through her leadership, Amanda continues to inspire and mobilise a global community towards a greener, more sustainable future.

This year, as I celebrate my 45th birthday, I've embarked on a reflective endeavour - 45 Strong - a series of candid conversations unveiling the complex landscape of what strength truly signifies through the narratives of an eclectic mix of women.
My surname, Strong, has always carried an inherent expectation, maybe that’s why I believed that I could achieve so much in sport?
Yet, strength extends beyond mere physicality or sheer willpower.
Through this series, I aim to explore the varying interpretations of strength as lived and perceived by women who embody it in their unique ways.
