Tracey West is an author and broadcaster on sustainable living and divorce. She's also the creator of the Word Forest Bring & Share Vegan Lunches and co-founder of international reforestation charity, Word Forest, a Devon-based charity with a mission to reforest Kenya and support a raft of women's empowerment initiatives across the country too. Tracey is a survivor of DV and the child of an alcohol dependent parent. She served 10 years as Trustee for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics and has been Patron of the Dorset Women CIC, an organisation that helps women in crisis, since 2011.

This year, as I celebrate my 45th birthday, I've embarked on a reflective endeavour - 45 Strong - a series of candid conversations unveiling the complex landscape of what strength truly signifies through the narratives of an eclectic mix of women.
My surname, Strong, has always carried an inherent expectation, maybe that’s why I believed that I could achieve so much in sport?
Yet, strength extends beyond mere physicality or sheer willpower.
Through this series, I aim to explore the varying interpretations of strength as lived and perceived by women who embody it in their unique ways.
