I can’t help thinking that battery is going to be a pain the swap out.

What size batteries are needed for these cars? I have a 2.5L Duratec engine. What is the motion ratio of those coilovers so "far" from the ball joints? What kind of rivets should be used on these cars? I'm guessing that they should be blind, but the core can be steel, or it has to be stainless? This type of videos that we need, to give us ideas for beginners. Thank you very much.

Stay tuned! We are planning a Q and A session with Chris and this will be the 1st question

@@7Spot556 I see quite a few people building these cars, but nobody is talking about motion ratio, wheel ratio, scrub radius, etc. On the forum, the experienced people seems to make it a big deal, if these are not correct.

We bike engine so running 300lb front and 250lb on rear.
      All protech shocks.
There are many shocks and spring choices on the market for the MK Indy (all variants).
For a Bike Engined Car, we recommend :
      Front
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Outboard Shocks)
      13"" Rod Eye 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Inboard Shocks)
      300lb 8"" Springs
      Rear
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy Classic)
      14"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy R)
      250lb 8"" Springs

For a Car Engined Car, we recommend
      Front
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Outboard Shocks)
      13"" Rod Eye 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Inboard Shocks)
      325lb 8"" Springs
      Rear
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy Classic)
      14"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy R)
      250lb 8"" Springs

For an S2000 Car engine (which is slightly heavier), we recomment
      Front
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Outboard Shocks)
      13"" Rod Eye 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Inboard Shocks)
      350lb 8"" Springs
      Rear
      13"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy Classic)
      14"" Bonded Bush 32mm x 12mm Shocks (Indy R)
      300lb 9"" Springs

@@NotusJohn Thanks for all that. I'm building a custom McSorley 442E chassis which is 4" wider&4" longer, and the chassis is 2" taller, using a MX5 MK3 whole rear end with LSD, from the same car the 6 speed manual and a Ford 2.5 Duratec w/throttle bodies from a ZX10R. Car is a bit heavier at the rear.

    I like the chassis mods.

Yes - but Chris has built over 103 cars now so as he says - "Don't cut chassis rails unless you know what you are doing"
You need to add strength back in and Chris knows what he is doing !!!

Varley Red Top 15 on our R1.
Just be aware they are M6 female terminals so either fit post adapters or change the connectors.

I changed my handbrake on my Cat to a mini one and attached it to the left hand side rail and moved it forward, it has an offset pull line with a threaded rod and it’s fine.

I saw a cool 😎 old school idea where the hand brake wasn’t lever actuated. See 4:10 here th-cam.com/video/Gas0zCgyn7s/w-d-xo.html
