John Peacekeeper, Oblivion Sheo is objectively better. You have had a whole location with a big quest jain with Sheogorath. Unlike the other games when you have had just a quest.
Except the first 4 games are over the span of a few decades, the fifth and legends over the next two centuries, and online from about 600 years before the first. Over all, that is less than a millennium.
In ESO, Sheogorath calls you "Puppy-killer", after you entered his realm and killed that clanfear. That clanfear was Sheo's puppy. You killed Sheogorath's dog. :(
WizardKing Wes Johnson. Great man, voiced a lot of characters. If you listen closely in Fallout 3 - you can notice, that supermutants are, in fact, voiced by him as well.
You can also hear him as some of the Orcs in the Shadow of Mordor games. It always makes me chuckle when I find a funny one voiced by him, and I immediately make that Orc my bodyguard when I find them.
The ESO voice actor wasn't quite right and sound too young, lack of experience sensibility really. There is a lack of that Irish tang along with the sensibility of an immortal who wants to have a bit of fun, yet has some experience to pull off the crazy while not being totally destructive. It is hard to explain how right Wes Johnsons' voice is as Thee voice of Lord Sheogorath. That thick German accent in ESO really threw me off. 😔

John Peacekeeper I know I'm a year late to point that out, but because of the Enantiomorph that must happen for mantling to happen they are actually the same guy while being different guys. Both of these states are true, but also neither of them is true at the same time. Enantiomorph happens when two forces that are completely equal struggle with each other. The Combatants in this case are Sheo and Jygg, for all intents and purposes the same being. Vivec explained this nicely in the Nerevarine-Dagoth Ur Enantiomorph: "You are 1 and Dagoth Ur is 1. Your conflict is 11. But which 1 in 11 are you, the former or the latter? You can't see, but I can". That's why "every" Enantiomorph needs an Observer. The Observer is the Champion of Cyrodiil who decides the Ruling King (winning Combatant). But at the same time, during the battle Sheo transforms into Jygg, and CoC takes Sheo's place in the fight. When he wins, he becomes the same as Sheogorath, for CoC mantled him by emanating him (as Nu-Hatta wrote: "Walk like them, until they must walk like you"). This is the Catalyst of the Enantiomorph, a new Sheogorath who is the CoC, but who still is the same Sheogorath who wasn't CoC.
(Shivering Isles spoilers ahead) You can see the difference in Sheogorath throughout the eras. Before the 4th era, he can get pretty malicious thanks to Jyggalag. During the 4th era, he became more benevolent and kind. I mean, your encounter with him has you treat Pelagius' mind. This is thanks to the Hero of Kvatch still wanting to help people and still being loyal to the Septims.
I'll never forget the first time playing the Shivering Isles. Just 11/10. Everything, and Sheogorath sells the show. Truly the best daedric prince of all of them and the best game for him. I'm happy they stuck with that sort of fun-psycho attitude from there on.
In daggerfall he has a chance to take over the summoning of other daedric princes. His actual summoning day is on mad pelagius day(prolly why he refers to pelagius as an old friend). and his chance of replacing other princes is higher during thunderstorms(hence why it has to be raining to summon him on oblivion).
Sheogorath is a splinter of Lorkhan, a part of his original mind that was poisoned by Namira's darkness given form and sentience after Lorkhan truly died after the Heart landed in Resdayn and Nocturnals birth from the poisoned blood.

Is it just me but in every appearance he seems to be... Helping? He always appears to give the hero of the day a little extra bit of power, not enough to have been the deciding factor in the end fight, but enough that it makes a noticeable difference to the outcome.
This was a year late, but his look changed because the Sheogorath in Skyrim is The Hero of Kvatch who The Last Dragonborn goes on a quest to speak to him, although it seems only Hermaeus Mora knows The Last Dragonborn is a Dragonborn/Dovahkiin.
Still not sure why they went with that version for ESO, should have been the same clothing style as the one in Oblivion since ESO is set before Oblivion I think.
Well do not forget the Oblivion story. Where Sheogorath changes into Jyggalag. So who to say if Sheogorath changes his look after Jyggalag turns back into Sheogorath. Not gonna lie. I hope in the Elder Scrolls VI(Whenever that'll be) we get another DLC revolving around Sheogorath. He's just so interesting and defiantly my favorite Daedric Prince! I think he's somewhat become a fan favorite as well. My only problem with him in ESO is 1.) He's not voiced by Wes Johnson which is a crime. And 2.) His appearance is...questionable. It's clearly based off the Skyrim version. Except...that's a different Sheogorath. For those who don't know. In Skyrim it's strongly implied that this Sheogorath is the protag of Oblivion. Otherwise known as The Champion of Cyrodiil. At the end of the Shivering Isles expansion **SPOILERS** You take over for Sheogorath. I know some people dismiss this saying they're character never went through the Shivering Isles storyline or they're a different race/gender or whatnot. And that's fine. Everyone has their own choice in the matter, but I think technically it is loosely canon to the series. Which makes sense why Sheogorath looks so different in Skyrim. However. If this is indeed the Champion of Cyrodiil...then why does Sheogorath look like that in ESO? ESO takes place thousands of years before Skyrim and Oblivion. This should be the old Sheogorath hence he should look like his Oblivion counterpart. It's just a weird hiccup in my opinion. Otherwise though. I'm glad to see Sheogorath made it into ESO, and like I said. I really hope we see more of him in Elder Scrolls VI!
Wait I just though of something! ESO (Second Era), Then Morrowind/Oblivion(Third Era), and Skyrim(Fourth Era) all take place in different eras right. So them having different voices makes sense since every era a new Sheogorath is created after the gray march is done. So having different mannerisms and voices makes sense now since their all mad but different people. Or it could just be that all the voice actors are very busy. Oh look some Cheese.

In the first game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, there's a dungeon you visit during the Main Quest called the Temple of the Mad God. You visit it in Summurset Isle (that's how they spell it in the game, so don't correct me!) just before going to the Crystal Tower. I think it might be a shrine to Sheogorath, but you don't find any statues or imagery of him.
Fun fact - sheogoraths name spelt backwards is htarogoehs and for those of you that didn’t know, this is actually an anagram for absolutely nothing at all.

Wes Johnson actually stated on his personal twitter that he did not do the voice acting for the Elder Scrolls Online version of Sheogorath, and the reason is because they never asked him to come back and do the voice.
Oblivion does it perfectly, Skyrim mimics the previous 100%, ESO i hate, Sherogroath dosent go out of his way or loose trial or a point, he sounds insecure and laughs about everything nevously, he dosent even look like Sheogroath.
It improves over time, but that first encounter sounds a little awkward. By the end of ESO's Mages Guild quest he sounds just like Wes Johnson. Also he truly makes Sheoldgorath feel so intimidating at times and extremely clever.

I like to think the soul of the protagonist of Elder Scrolls Arena took his soul on 2, 3, and his partial final destination in 4 with being Sheogorath. Although, I like to think the Eternal Champion took part of his soul and combined it with Shor to make the Last Dovakiin. The Sheogorath in Skyrim is only a partial part of the Eternal Champion's soul. Keep in mind this is my personal theory; it is completely debatable.
Hate that in ESO they made Sheogorath look like the cheap version as in Skyrim. They should've used Oblivion version, with his cat eyes and everything else. In Skyrim they just gave him blind eyes because they didn't have time to deal with those small things, if you don't believe me, same concept can be applied to unique weapons sharing same model as some normal weapon.. Just proves how much Zenimax knows about stuff.

The Dragonborn actually doesn't serve Hermaeus Mora, since it seems The Dragonborn by canon doesn't care much about the gods/Daedric Princes and I would say Akatosh wouldn't let The Last Dragonborn be claimed by a Daedric Prince.

He is by far my favorite character in Skyrim, and then Lord Sanguine. These two Daedric Princes would be fun to hang out with. I would love a mod where they interact with each other. That would be very interesting.

Is it just me but in every appearance he seems to be... Helping? He always appears to give the hero of the day a little extra bit of power, not enough to have been the deciding factor in the end fight, but enough that it makes a noticeable difference to the outcome.

This was a year late, but his look changed because the Sheogorath in Skyrim is The Hero of Kvatch who The Last Dragonborn goes on a quest to speak to him, although it seems only Hermaeus Mora knows The Last Dragonborn is a Dragonborn/Dovahkiin.
Still not sure why they went with that version for ESO, should have been the same clothing style as the one in Oblivion since ESO is set before Oblivion I think.

Well do not forget the Oblivion story. Where Sheogorath changes into Jyggalag. So who to say if Sheogorath changes his look after Jyggalag turns back into Sheogorath. Now while we are on the clothing subject. Why does Oblivion/Skyrim Sheogorath not look like his Daggerfall/Morrowind counter part. Those did come first.

ESO Sheogorath sounds kinda like Cicero. I don’t envy that voice actor, living up to Wes Johnson is an impossible task. Dude did his best to capture that vibe.

Not gonna lie. I hope in the Elder Scrolls VI(Whenever that'll be) we get another DLC revolving around Sheogorath. He's just so interesting and defiantly my favorite Daedric Prince! I think he's somewhat become a fan favorite as well. My only problem with him in ESO is 1.) He's not voiced by Wes Johnson which is a crime. And 2.) His appearance is...questionable. It's clearly based off the Skyrim version. Except...that's a different Sheogorath. For those who don't know. In Skyrim it's strongly implied that this Sheogorath is the protag of Oblivion. Otherwise known as The Champion of Cyrodiil. At the end of the Shivering Isles expansion **SPOILERS** You take over for Sheogorath. I know some people dismiss this saying they're character never went through the Shivering Isles storyline or they're a different race/gender or whatnot. And that's fine. Everyone has their own choice in the matter, but I think technically it is loosely canon to the series. Which makes sense why Sheogorath looks so different in Skyrim. However. If this is indeed the Champion of Cyrodiil...then why does Sheogorath look like that in ESO? ESO takes place thousands of years before Skyrim and Oblivion. This should be the old Sheogorath hence he should look like his Oblivion counterpart. It's just a weird hiccup in my opinion. Otherwise though. I'm glad to see Sheogorath made it into ESO, and like I said. I really hope we see more of him in Elder Scrolls VI!

ESO (Second Era), Then Morrowind/Oblivion(Third Era), and Skyrim(Fourth Era) all take place in different eras right. So them having different voices makes sense since every era a new Sheogorath is created after the gray march is done. So having different mannerisms and voices makes sense now since their all mad but different people.
Or it could just be that all the voice actors are very busy.

In the first game, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, there's a dungeon you visit during the Main Quest called the Temple of the Mad God. You visit it in Summurset Isle (that's how they spell it in the game, so don't correct me!) just before going to the Crystal Tower. I think it might be a shrine to Sheogorath, but you don't find any statues or imagery of him.
ESO sheogorath is an even older version of sheogorath, predating both the champion and sheoth. sheoth probably inherited the throne from the eso sheo

No, he's not. Wes Johnson didn't do any work on ESO according to his IMDB profile.
Wes Johnson actually stated on his personal twitter that he did not do the voice acting for the Elder Scrolls Online version of Sheogorath, and the reason is because they never asked him to come back and do the voice.
Different recording methods produces different sounds.
Wes voiced Sheo in Oblivion and Skyrim. He did NOT voice Sheo in ESO, that was another actor called JB Blanc.
Oblivion does it perfectly, Skyrim mimics the previous 100%, ESO i hate, Sherogroath dosent go out of his way or loose trial or a point, he sounds insecure and laughs about everything nevously, he dosent even look like Sheogroath.

It improves over time, but that first encounter sounds a little awkward. By the end of ESO's Mages Guild quest he sounds just like Wes Johnson. Also he truly makes Sheoldgorath feel so intimidating at times and extremely clever.

I like to think the soul of the protagonist of Elder Scrolls Arena took his soul on 2, 3, and his partial final destination in 4 with being Sheogorath. Although, I like to think the Eternal Champion took part of his soul and combined it with Shor to make the Last Dovakiin. The Sheogorath in Skyrim is only a partial part of the Eternal Champion's soul.
Keep in mind this is my personal theory; it is completely debatable.

Hate that in ESO they made Sheogorath look like the cheap version as in Skyrim. They should've used Oblivion version, with his cat eyes and everything else. In Skyrim they just gave him blind eyes because they didn't have time to deal with those small things, if you don't believe me, same concept can be applied to unique weapons sharing same model as some normal weapon.. Just proves how much Zenimax knows about stuff.
Actually, him having no eyes in skyrim is reference to how he says he'll pluck your eyes out in Oblivion.

The Dragonborn actually doesn't serve Hermaeus Mora, since it seems The Dragonborn by canon doesn't care much about the gods/Daedric Princes and I would say Akatosh wouldn't let The Last Dragonborn be claimed by a Daedric Prince.
