Frankly the Information on Morrowind in Skyrim is full of so much contradiction that it’s pretty much impossible to take anyone at their word, in the Quest for Bran-Shei we’re told that he’s actually the last living descendant of House Telvanni since the Argonians wiped the house out, but Brelyna in the College of Winterhold claims to be a part of House Telvanni and Neloth claims that House Telvanni is still around. I think it’s best to assume that the Combined destruction of Red Mountain Erupting and the Argonian Invasion was so apocalyptic and devastating that there’s no way to properly take census of what’s still around, perhaps all the Silt Striders died out in one part of Morrowind while in another part they survived.

For Mannimarco, that's exactly what happened. He achieved Apotheosis AND remained a mortal necromancer at the same time. I literally just realized that the Dark Elf that greets you in morrowind is the same guy from the soul cairn I avoided talking to.. I'm reinstalling Skyrim. I'm about to help you find those pages man...
I’m surprised he wasn’t mentioned, but there is one prominent name you forgot: Divayth Fyr, featured prominently in TES: Morrowind and ESO: Clockwork City.
Divayth Fyr, and Mistress Dratha. Both pop up in Morrowind, and then are also seen 800 years in the past during the events of ESO's Vvardenfell expansion. (I'm pretty sure there are other recurring Telvanni, I don't remember off hand.) Outside of House Telvanni, there's a borderline unique undead example: Volrina Quarra appears as a living NPC in ESO, but reappears as the head of the Quarra Vampire Clan in Morrowind. As with Helseth and Berenzeraih, there was an error. During ESO: Morrowind's beta her race was set to Dunmer, and her voice work was recorded by one of the Dunmer voice actresses, however the original NPC was an Imperial. By the time ESO Morrowind released, her race had been modified, but the NPC still has Dark Elf voicework. (It's also heavily implied that she's already infected and in the process of turning when you encounter her in ESO.)

Canonically the Nerevarine was still alive in oblivion, just left for atmora. As the Nerevarine is ageless after nelocar makes them drink a potion, it's somewhat safe to assume they are still alive as of skyrim.
It was Akavir that they set sail for, but technically yeah they're good because they got Corprus. Corprus makes you immortal yet ravaged by cancer and madness. The potion just nullified the cancer and insanity, the immortality and boosted physical stats was still there for Big N
You're thinking of Akavir, like the other commenter said. Besides that yeah spot on. Nerevarine *should* be around, but we'll never receive upfront confirmation via confrontation for obvious reasons
@@inspectorjavert9868 Race is still not confirmed, plus if I remember correctly they said that was a script error and Nerevarine still doesn't have a confirmed gender
If you decide to spare Archmage of the Guild in Morrowind, Trebonius Artorius, then Ocato sends a letter to name the player character a new Arch-Mage. It makes perfect sense, because Ocato has a rank of Master-Wizard in Oblivion. It isn't mentioned in the game, but he has this rank assigned, so it was very much his business to appoint a new Arch-Mage.
There is another. According to the dog Barbas in your inventory (C.Vile quest in Oblivion) he once was a scamp back it Morrowind. Read that he was suppose to be the famed Creeper before he somehow morphed into becoming Vile's pet dog.
Barbas can change into anything, and more often than not, that "anything" is whatever old Clavicus Vile feels like looking at in a given moment. In Redguard, you meet Clavicus Vile and Barbas and Barbas continuously changes shape.
19:05 It could also be Elder Scroll's version of Blackrazor from the Dungeons and Dragons adventure "White Plum Mountain". The weapon was described as a two-handed sword that shines like a piece of night sky filled with stars. Its black scabbard is decorated with pieces of cut obsidian.
There is the dragon in Redguard named Nafaalilargus that appeared in ESO for the Elsweyr as Nahfahlaar. I assume the name change has something to do with his service to Tiber Septim, would be rather odd for it to just be a continuity error.
Nafahlaar is his Dovahzul name. After Tiber Seprim conquered Tamriel, he went under his service, and after a while ended up styling himself as Nafalilargus, which is just the Cyrodillic stylization of his name. But ye, same dragon.
Umbacano caught a sudden case of the deaths at the end of his Oblivion quest line. Either from trying to betray the Hero of Kvatch or the Hero Betraying him with a fake Ayleid crown.

M'aiq has the solution is in essence, there is a short quest early on that takes you to some plane of oblivion. In a cave? Possibly something to do with a chest. Its been a very long time. You find a dagger in this area, with a note saying "From M'aiq to his son, M'aiq. "
Volanaro - correct it if I'm wrong, but haven't he died with most of the mages from Bruma's Mages Guild during Oblivion Mage Guild Questline? I though that only a certain Khajit survived the onslaught
Yes you are right. That was Volanaro's fellow prankster buddy J'skar who is the only survivor and moves permeantly into the Arcane University's "lobby" you might call it.
I feel like umbra might've been inspired by the one ring, from the middle earth series/lord of the rings. It's backstory has many parallels if you think about it-a magical weapon, created by a diety that used part of their soul in its crafting. The artifact being irresistable to mortals, with a mind of its own and driving all users but its creator insane.
"The Daedra are evil." _Proceeds to turn a Daedric artifact that rejects the souls of intelligent beings into one that consumes and imprisons them in the dread plane of the Soul Cairn under the iron rule of the Ideal Masters_

Oh and about your punishment I was thinking of turning you into cheese.....NO a fork......A FORK MADE OF CHEESE!!!!
I have a theory about why some call Shadowmere a him, and others a her: Shadowmere is a Gelding. That means, Lucian thought Shadowmere was a mare because he saw no balls. However, Astrid examined the horse further, and determined: "Oh, it's a him, he's just a gelding."
Awesome video sir! I really appreciate seeing the ties from characters throughout the series. Its one of the reasons I love the Elder Scrolls so much. Thanks for going back even farther than Morrowind for some of them. 👍
my character since Daggerfall is the same Altmer character with the same name, appearance and even more or less the same skills. Lore-wise it checks out, since Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion aren't very far apart, and Altmer live very long lives so even the 200 year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim just means he got gray hair. There is some conflicting info though, in in-game books, Elves are said to live up to a 1000 years, although few of them actually did due to disease and violence, and yet Barenziah lived to be 430 and was considered "old". Divayth Fyr is said to be 4000 years old but it's heavily implied he prolonged his life either through magic, Corprus disease or both. Then you have an ESO Q&A which contradicts all of this, saying Elves live "two to three times longer than men".
"Meridia may speak fair to mortals when she wishes to use them or command their obedience, but here in Cyrodiil we remember her for what she was: a patron and mentor to the Heartland High Elves, and complicit in the bondage and oppression of as much of humanity as the Ayleids could enslave. Her honeyed words hide devious purposes. Heed instead the words of the Covenants, and trust not in the promises of Daedra!" - Primate Artorius Ponticus, Akatosh Chantry
Even the "good" Daedra do bad things, and hey sometimes the "bad" Daedra do good things, the common thread is that they do what best serves them and their aims, some Daedra just have aims that favour mortals more and others less. Azura didn't facilitate the events of Morrowind out of the goodness of her heart. She claims she wanted to help the Dunmer, but she also sought the death of Vivec. Vivec's loss of powers/death/disappearance leads directly to Red Mountain erupting which certainly goes against her stated aim of helping the Dunmer. More likely she just wanted to punish the Tribunal for their betrayal of her and Nerevar, damn the consequences. Meridia doesn't understand nuances, she is the lady of light, she burns away all who doesn't follow her rules if at all possible. She tends to punish evildoers but only because some evildoers like necromancy, vampirism and the like. She doesn't actually care about suffering of mortals or anything like that. Hircine cares about the hunt and its aspects, he likes the hunter, the hunted and all who take part in the hunt. He doesn't lift a finger to do anything but make the hunt interesting, sometimes that means helping the little guy (the prey) and sometimes it means creating a little guy (creating prey), we may consider the first good and the second bad, Hircine doesn't care. Hircine also created Lycanthropy which is a disease considered an evil to most mortals. Malacath is gets the closest to good in his protection of outcasts, but he is so restrictive in his protection and in his rules that arguably he actually creates outcasts. Some Orsimer believe Malacath is a lie even, a fiction of Boethia meant to keep them from following their true god of Trinimac. Either way it's possible Malacath actually helps keep the Orcs in their outcast status because of his own desires and that he might not be helping them. As for the other Daedra there are lots of times where even the outright evil Daedra will help cause some "good" event on Nirn because it helps that Daedra win a personal battle. The Daedra are all about self interest, it just happens at times that Daedric self interest aligns with what is best for mortals.
You know, I bet Blackrazor is also an Homage to Stormbringer. Blackrazor is a sentient greatsword from Dungeons and Dragons whose sole purpose is to consume the souls of the living. It is also immensely powerful, and often serves as a patron for Hexblade Warlocks who seek the sword's power. And yes, Blackrazor is a void-black greatsword.
For unclear reasons, wizards have a much longer life span than their race is normally capable of. This is across the board. Only mage elves live more than a few hundred years. Only mage humans live past their 80's. With necromancy or vampirism, you can extend your life indefinitely.
Oh, boy, here we go! I'm gonna watch ALL of it! Been waiting for a lore video like this for so long, but no chance I'd have the energy to make it myself. 😂
This makes Morrwind's fate a little better for me! I was pretty sad thinking that the only survivors from my playthrough were myself, Vivec, and Divath Fyr (who turns up dead in a book later)...
Honestly the actor they got for Uriel from Daggerfall looks like what I would imagine a real life Haskill from the Shivering Isles dlc for Oblivion to look like.
13:16 - Worth noting that this statement about Black Soul Gems is partially incorrect; only souls that are specifically offered up to the Ideal Masters are sent to the Soul Cairn, not just any soul trapped in a black soul gem.
But Shadowmere is immortal. S/he respawns in three days iirc if s/he's killed. Or it could be that some angry Daedra are angrily looking around for another horse to slap the title of Shadowmere onto. 😂
makes you wonder wtf happens to the dragonborn, hope dude doesn't go mad, wonder if dragons are immune to hermeus' passive skill of giving his followers madness in knowledge... a little madness is okay tho. snickering here and there, kinda like The Comedian, making fun of everyone and everything's futility but still strives to overcome it regardless, like a big ass hypocrite lol. a powerful dragon hypocrite
Tullius would be an interesting one but I think to cover the whole civil war thing, both Tullius and Ulfric will be dead. Tullius was the only competent leader in all of Skyrim, the rest all had massive flaws and should never have been in any position of power; it would be interesting to see if he became emperor since presumable the Dragonborn didn't.
Isn't barenziah added in tribunal, not bloodmoon? Edit: okay, the text at the start of her bit says bloodmoon but you do say tribunal later, but it sounds like when editing you may have clipped part of the beginning of her section off a bit?
All 3 of them deserve to roast in oblivion for eternity. They made the tribunal, they tried to be gods and they killed Nerevar. Not to mention the fall of Baar Dau triggering the eruption of Red mountain and the resulting destruction of Vaardenfell.
the Ideal Masters are from Battlespire which started as an expansion for Daggerfall and got spun off into its own game. The Soul Cairn is also in Battlespire, but that location is WAY different in that game.
When the priest of Mania says that his Lord has "changed", it means that the Hero of Kvatch doesn't rule like the Lord of Madness usually does. He doesn't care about the Shivering Isles, he's just insane, which means that he couldn't handle the insanity because he wasn't a Daedra born being. But it's hard to tell since the only Prince of Madness to exist was the Prince of Order.
I believe it's actually the opposite, Sheogorath still remembers his role in the Oblivion crisis (mentions being their and meeting Martin Septim), everything he achieved and likely still partially motivated by wanting to fix/save everything, including long dead mad imperial emperors, at least that part of him does. He is now mostly Sheogorath and probably slightly more in control of his marbles than Jyggalag was as Sheogorath.

Similar to how Talos was probably created by the ending of Daggerfall long after Tiber septim died because the Numidian's destruction caused the warp in the west and Talos worship appeared out of nowhere and it changed from 8 to 9 divines.

That’s Tiber Septim
No that was Wulf/Talos.
He was in daggerfall, sending you on the quest
I always saw that as Uriel
I am sure that was Talos
Divayth Fyr, and Mistress Dratha. Both pop up in Morrowind, and then are also seen 800 years in the past during the events of ESO's Vvardenfell expansion. (I'm pretty sure there are other recurring Telvanni, I don't remember off hand.)
Outside of House Telvanni, there's a borderline unique undead example: Volrina Quarra appears as a living NPC in ESO, but reappears as the head of the Quarra Vampire Clan in Morrowind.
Late but, Gothren also appears, although he is just a Magister and not the Arch-Magister. Yet.

This was great, Dash. It may be a long wait for 6, but I look forward to seeing you play it.

Volanaro - correct it if I'm wrong, but haven't he died with most of the mages from Bruma's Mages Guild during Oblivion Mage Guild Questline?
I though that only a certain Khajit survived the onslaught
Yeah you are right
Yes you are right.
So that's why my player is always a psychotic, mass murdering basket case.
Kinda feel like a lot of cursed items follow similar lines, not exactly a Lord of the Rings thing.
umbras original lore was that it was just a regular sword. it was changed in oblivion.
It's more likely a reference to Stormbringer from the Elric books.
Jiub didn't kill all the cliff racers. He killed them to either near extinction or very much more tolerable levels.

0:02 "The Elder Scroll Series is Pepe"
Anyone else give their characters the same last name across all sequels so that you could play as "descendants" of the original hero?
my character since Daggerfall is the same Altmer character with the same name, appearance and even more or less the same skills.
Sinderion also taught a Dark elf woman how to farm nirnroot in the Rift
Seeing Jiub's head is so jarring because you get used to goofy bethesda violence and then they spring a beloved character's gory remains on ya
Nelecar: The Daedra are evil!
Azura and Meridia: Excuse me, WTF?
Come on all gods or warp entitys aré evil.
Azura is fucked up sometimes, dude
Meridia, as much as I love her, is bland
The only arguably good daedra might be Hircine or Malacath
"Meridia may speak fair to mortals when she wishes to use them or command their obedience, but here in Cyrodiil we remember her for what she was: a patron and mentor to the Heartland High Elves, and complicit in the bondage and oppression of as much of humanity as the Ayleids could enslave. Her honeyed words hide devious purposes. Heed instead the words of the Covenants, and trust not in the promises of Daedra!" - Primate Artorius Ponticus, Akatosh Chantry
@@mrcopycat2355 i think u can definitely argue some daedra r good, all the good events in morrowind literally wouldnt have happened without azura
Great content as always mate! Thank you :)
Adventure on, Phat
Thank you, sir. Same to you!
I thought you said the elder scroll series was tepid, and I was like "damn"
I love how Neloth is still alive and kicking despite all things. It seems that a lot of elves can get very old though.
Somewhere around 300 years of lifespan
For unclear reasons, wizards have a much longer life span than their race is normally capable of. This is across the board.
Only mage elves live more than a few hundred years. Only mage humans live past their 80's. With necromancy or vampirism, you can extend your life indefinitely.

Fantastic video, your channel is a real hidden gem. Insane work went into this video!
The death of the emperor in Oblivion with actually one of the saddest deaths in a game that I've ever seen and it was wonderfully done
