MBDTF is my fav Kanye album but the vinyl version that I have is tragically poor in terms of design. Why on earth is it split over three discs? Surely it could have fit on a double LP. Literally, one side of the record is just the song Monster...like what?! A very frustrating listening experience when listening to the album all the way through. I guess it's just one of those albums that doesn't translate well onto vinyl. Still looks good in my collection though :)
Well, some of the tracks were really long, so maybe Kanye didn't want them to stop suddenly? But I don't know about Monster; it wasn't that long, and All of the Lights and So Appalled weren't too long...
As good as the album is, it really isn't mixed or mastered that great. The artwork is amazing but it's definitely not an album you get anything more out of on vinyl, and the choice to split it over 6 sides is weird.
I’d recommend picking up the Unreleased Joints Vol 1-6. They came out around the time of college drop out and are a great source for his really essential early stuff. Also the Teriyaki Boyz 12” and The Otis 7”
I picked up the TLOP bootleg on record store day this year. My local store had a bunch of copies and after I saw your review saying that the bootleg had decent quality I had to have it. Unfortunately I have gotten my setup done yet so I haven't given it a listen but It's defiantly gonna be one of the first that get's a spin when everything's put together. Now I have to go be on the lookout for some of the other great albums you showed off. Also I was really surprised that graduation was your least favorite in his collection. I bumped that in my car the entire day when I graduated high school in 2015 so I guess it's my favorite due to nostalgia. I wish Ye would press all of his records on vinyl, and remaster them because allot of the ones I had were shitty and had defects. I want College Dropout with the skits too, kinda pissed me off he ditched the skits on the vinyl (IDK if it was the same for Late Registration, because i sadly never owned it on wax) but the skits tied the whole thing together, it's like a DOOM vinyl cutting out the skits lol. I think for Yeezus he should have dropped it on vinyl with the same design, a clear case with a black vinyl. Maybe a clear slip cover because IDK how a traditional white paper sleeve would translate well lol. I do find the bootleg funny with using the OG art. But I know there's official cassette tapes and it's just a clear plastic with the tape showing thru the cassette.

Just bought a vinyl of TLOP today. The discs are light blue and tie dye ish. I had no idea it was a bootleg but it sounds perfect. It also has the original versions of wolves and feedback. I don't know if I'm super excited or a little upset about it😂

From the GOOD Fridays, to the Runaway film, to the aesthetic consistent throughout the whole project, and not to mention Ye's bars... it's a perfect album IMO. This album is a Dynamic Range mess, so yeah it's pretty difficult to transfer it to vinyl
