I struggle to know where my baseline volume is when producing a track. Check it out: I pop in a synth and sketch out some chords or something. Next, maybe add some layers and melodies, then drums. Boom now I’ve got an arrangement going on. But the problem is… when I put that first sound in, I just adjusted the gain not to blow my fucking brains out. So when I layer, I’m adjusting gain of those layers to accent my first sound. When drums come in, I’m adjusting their gain to cut through and be heard, often times hard limiting them to really squeeze them through. (I sidechain too, not always just loudness war lol.) Now here comes my bass, it’s gonna drop in at the chorus. But to get it to be strong enough with my other elements, I gotta crank it, limit it, saturate it, and it is just kinda audible but basically redlining. I’ve carved lows out of everything else, etc. I feel like not knowing how to start my track gain wise and maintain a standard on how loud everything is really fucks me as I move forth.
bruh my biggest pet peeve is when a tutorial is edited all short and fast paced cause the person is trying to make a good youtube video and not an actual helpful tutorial this was like the complete opposite of that you killed it forsure.
yup. in all honesty these three alone are good enough. obviously a super professional sounding mix will make it sound better but its not really necessary id rather people focus on making good melodies and sound choice
bro, Tonal Balance Control its for mastering final track with beat and artist vocal, these mid frequency spectrum which you see in tonal balance have to be filled with artist vocal but you boost those frequencies and leaving no room for vocals at all.
Your premise is wrong. Tonal balance is for finished tracks regardless of the vocals. If you don’t wanna master your beats then don’t gang, just use the mixing tips 💯🙏
Hi Chu, what a wonderful video bro, thanks for this, okay? But then, I have a question. What other Clipper can I use on the master if I don't have the TR5?
Wait a minute... 1:20 How the HECK did you automatically route all those tracks at once?! lol. I'm so sick of typing one by one. Cubase I drag everything in and it sets it for me. FL Studio on my end for ME at least a pita lol. Please help
I have a question, when u opened the tonal balance your mix had like a hole in the mid frequency’s and you boosted those frequency’s, but those frequency are not to supposed to be full by de voice of the artist ?
i like you dont curse in youre videos our use bad language the music is also funny beat is hard you should make more beats i got to check now luf meter from you lean to make my beats for spotify ready i spoton is a awesome free autotune plugin its free
producers, don't overdo shit. if you dont hear or see any mud in your drums, there is no need to eq them (good packs usually have already mixed sounds)
Thanks for watching, lmk what topic you wanna see me cover next or if I sound go deeper with engineering

It will take u a long way..

I've wondered what's the specs on his computer as well. Mine handles a good bit, but lastnight i started to notice some hiccups
quick question bro , u ever mix in mono then turn to stereo? thoughts?
Not so much any more, but I used to mix in mono a lot. I might get back to doing it again
do you recommend mastering beats for a type beats channel or just some basic leveling and soft clipper is fine
The clipper is a form of mastering. So yes. I recommend mastering.
@@ChuTheCreator yes, thank you for that correction but my question was if I should take it further than that
@@sneakyonthebeat cool. I'm making a video that will answer this. thanks for inspiring the idea 🙏. I'll link it here when it drops tomorrow.

Limiter and soft clipper which one comes first?

GOSH
🙏
Has it ever happened to you that when you start cutting the high frequencies of the melody it starts sounding harsh?
not in my experience
You don't do compression and saturation on the master?
It’s not as simple as yes or no . Watch this it might help - you need to care less about mixing *probably*
