I was thinkig about lawn care as an add on to by biz. I thought weed and pest control was out of my range. These vids you make, has changed my mind. out of all the weed control vids, you make the best ones i have found, and the way you do them, its easy for me to learn. Ill be in texas doing this, and alot of what you talk about is in my area. By far, finaly a youtube channel here to help anyone.... If i could ride along with you for a week I would be on that so fast. I cant afford it yet.. Maby in the future.
loved your video. I live in Tennessee and encounter more of the cool season grasses commercially, but am in love with zoysia and hybrid Bermudas. you were 100% correct in your id of fescue, which is the preferred turf in my area. sure would love to grab a beer with you one day and chat lawncare. keep up the good work, you got one more fan!
Great video Jason, you are now my "Goto" guy for lawn care info. LCN was my guy until he started getting way to "Hollywood" for me. LCN would create a 20 minute video with about 60 seconds of information. Keep up the good work.
Talking about transition zones!! I live right in the crazy zone of middle Tennessee... half of my lawn is shade and half is full sun! (and clover and weeds) The shade part is almost dirt under pine trees, and the sun part is tall fescue. I am about to redo all of it! My question is do i use turf type fescue over all ? i so need help! about 2 acres of dark shade and 5 acres of full hot rocky dry sunlight. any advice ? thanks man! i have been working on this for almost 20 years and its still a patchy lookin lawn.
Jason. I need your help / advice / tips I will take anything, I have a very good client almost an acre lot I mow. The yard is a mess, meaning it is ate up with crabgrass, thistle, dandelion and various other types of weed I cant identify. Any suggestions this late in the season as to how to go about attacking t=and getting this lawn under control? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
+Allen's Lawn Service LLC I don't know the grass type, but you might just spray something like msm turf to control some weeds. I would explain to the customer that the crabgrass will die with colder weather. You can prevent it next year with a pre emergent
I am not sure if I have tried either of those products on lespodeza because changeup works so well. Change Up is now labeled at a low rate for St. Aug. I think the rate is 1 pt/acre. I sometime mix 1 pt/acre changeup with .25 oz /acre of msm turf and use it on st aug. That will control many weeds including bahai grass. I bet it will work on lespodeza also. I may have to try blindside and celsius to see how they do
+lifeisgood070 Tennessee is in a transition zone that has both warm and cool season grasses. I do not have much experience with cool season grasses. I imagine that Bermuda and zoysia grass would do fine there but I would check with someone local

Lawn Care Life Hey thanks for taking the time to get back with me, I really appreciate the advice.
Would you go after lespodeza in St. Aug with Blindside or Celsius? Also, would you target spray or broadcast?

Any knowledge, recommendations, or suggestions for palisades zoysia?? Popular down here in West TN.
What's the best grass for middle TN? I feel like most of my lawn is 3/4 sun. Got 4x trees about 35ft apart each.

lifeisgood070 Im in northwest Tennessee. I've had real good luck with kentucky bluegrass in sunny areas. Emerald zoysia in shade.

Good video thanks!
Glad your enjoyed it. Thanks
hard to tell difference between Z52 and centipede.
The z 52 sod does look similar to centipede. It is easier to tell the difference once they are established in the lawn.
In person there is no comparison, zoysia (any zoysia) is much thicker, greener, and prettier than centipede.
I have a hard time telling difference. What kind of seed head does zoysia get?

Looks like you need a good lawn guy to come over and spray your lawn for you.
+Larry Stratmann I'll see if I can find one

+Larry Stratmann glad to help. Best wishes on your new venture
Lawn Care Life thank you so much
Does centipede and zoysia z52 kind of look alike.
They do favor in some ways. The leaf is about the same width on both
Are there other types of Bermuda you see? If so which types do you see?
Cutting grass high helps control weeds
How does zoysia live up to dog traffic
