At one time, it was an island oasis for the rich planter class. Then, in 1856, the worst hurricane to hit Louisiana's coast until Laura in 2020 struck.
For the second community in "The Lost Bayou" series, we'll be introducing you to the people who were on the island for the Great Storm.
