As a kid of the early 80's, many times our dad took us to a notorious local Pub (Bar), called the Whitehorse. There was a guy nicknamed Web, with a web on his elbow and little black spider in the middle. But if he bent his elbow it transformed into an Australian Red Back. Always thought it was creative, and it's one tattoo I oddly remember decades later. I'm now middle-aged, never got a tattoo. But'll forever love the bold artistry ❤
I like imagining that crazy face tattoo people have normal office jobs. “You’ll need to go see Bob in accounting to get your tax deductions adjusted.” “Which one is Bob?” “Eyeballs.”
Art history nitpick 'cause I studied them both in college: That's Atemisia Gentileschi, not Caravaggio! Easy mistake since she was an admirer of his style and her father Orazio was a friend of his (they got sued together for writing slanderous verses about another artist lol). To spot the difference, notice the other woman. In Caravaggio's version Judith's assistant is an old woman standing to the side. Artemisia's version is more "teamwork makes the dream work," more forceful, with two women physically holding Holofernes down. Love your videos!
8:02 The artwork in the image is in fact the work of a 17th century female painter, Artemisia Gentileschi, influenced by Caravaggio’s artwork. Here: Judith Beheading Holofernes,1620.
😂 Any time there's a cartoon version of a famous painting and the cartoon is happy getting its throat cut, 😂 it's got my favorite vote for the episode.
Every 19 year old thinks they are invincible and know everything there is to know. I see all those infected tattoos on TikTok. Yeah thats what happens when you tattoo without gloves on. Pony knows about Bloodborne pathogens. Preach professional tattoo artist! Preach!!
the leg tattoo looks like an a.d. poncho piece. probably one of my favorite artists ever. if it's not good on whoever did it that contrast is pretty spectacular
I once wanted to tattoo my right arm to look mechanical/steam punk. From finger tip to shoulder. After a great deal of thought I didnt, and I'm really glad!!
Love the word search tattoo! Leaving things open can be fun. I gave my daughter color sharpies a few years ago to color in my mom's nautical steampunk sleeve. She had the best time and we all waited for Papa to notice mom's new color!
Aww that's so cute, I love it! I was actually thinking about getting the 'Bic Body Mark' temporary tattoo markers for my son, they're made specially for the skin and come in all different colors, and with a few stencils too.

Pony! whenever I'm having a hard day I put on your videos and forget all about my troubles. The combo of your voice and personality really calms me down and allows me to put things in perspective. You're also a pretty good tattooer.
Hi there! I don't want to appear arrogant but due to the importance of the background of "Judith slaying Holofernes" I'd like to clearify that the Artist of the picture in the tattoo was Artemisia Gentileschi. Read up her story, it's very important to know about. Cheers from Germany!
I took a class focused on Artemisia and Caravaggio in college, super fascinating! Love her version of the image. It's so gory. Fun fact: In Artemisia's version, the blood is squirting out in parabolic arcs, unlike Caravaggio's straight line blood, which is possibly a reference to her personal friend Galileo's (yeah that Galileo!) yet-unpublished theory on the parabolic path of projectiles!!! So freaking cool. Girl was referencing unpublished physics papers to make her gore more realistic.
@@stellar52Yes! And as an artist and SA survivor myself I love the meaning people get out of that painting. We can't know exactly what she was thinking when she made it because she didn't write about it, but I love that it's become a symbol of fighting back against abuse for a lot of women 🖤
I’m not sure where you are located but The Nelson Atkins museum in Kansas City, Mo has an exhibit or at least it did a couple months ago called fierce women. That features the second painting to this one of Gentileschi and several other notable female artists female artists work of that period. It also has Caravaggios St. John the Baptist in the wilderness.

I love the idea of a word search tattoo but yeah, the fun is in finding "naughty" words while you're searching for the key words. They should've not circled any words at all.
Idk if you ever made a video about a thing that specific, but what is your opinion/ or expertise on covering up scar tissue, especially self harm tissue? I did self harm in my past and I feel like after almost 5 years of not hurting my self, Id like to cover it up. I bet content like that is sorta risky though on youtube
I have scars I've gotten tattood over. The white ones cover v easily. Tbh I use a scar cream for the colored scars and plan a tattoo for after it becomes flat and white. Pain isn't bad when the scar is healed.
I think the black, grey and red tattoos are Micheal Cloutiers. I may be wrong but it looks like his work. Either way its really good work! Love the videos Pony!

Huh? Oh, I got that in the Navy. What the hell is it?! It’s a tattoo. Of what, it looks like a blob or a bruise?! It was a Hawaiian hula dancer. 💃 How long have you had it? A LONG time! All the tattooed folks have this conversation to look forward too! Not to mention the miles of blobs or bruises.

“Strap on” 😂 I am a Navy veteran and retired Army 1SG. In my 21 year career, at least a hundred of my buddies would try get me a tattoo. Though it was mostly in the Navy. I would go in and look at the art that always adorns the walls/bulkheads of tattoo shops. “IF” I had seen a really cool one and it looked decent like I have seen recently in the world, I might have had it done. Seemed like wherever my ship would port (except for like Pakistan, Bahrain, Israel, etc.,) there were tattoo shops. Weird as I thought back then.

I had a section of my right cancerous tumor clavicle removed and left a nasty scar. I was going to get a tasteful tattoo of a Chinese dragon on the scar, but the nerves were damaged and even touching it with my bare fingers sends shards of excruciating pain up and down my arm. I decided not to.

I think the tattoo artist has a responsibility to be sure the 18 year old with half skull on his hands should explain that in the future this could cause problems, not least his growth and face change, but his ability to get work etc.
Funny tattoo story..not!
