I absolutely love the fact that u give all the positive aspects about the peoples work first and then with what u suggest them u give them a good explanation on why and then how it could be better and I feel like I never see that anymore so keep up the good work I know it’s helping and encouraging the people who send in

Id love to see a video about tattoos ageing - especially the ones made by highly skilled artists. ❤

@ponylawson I’m just one person, but what hooked me onto you videos (besides loving tatties) is your rule of 1/3’s - you’re respectful, funny, and super educational. Keep it up man you are a blast!

Wow the tiger tattoo is stunning! I would've never guessed it was done by an apprentice! Whites can be hard, usually the first color to fade and common to need touching up. Some people even have their whites turn yellow! I have some white in a 20 yr old tattoo that's still there, only mildly faded. The artist really packed it in there, so I know that helped. I think the tiger looks amazing, but if he's worried about it, he could just ask the client to let him touch it up. I've had artists tell me they're happy to touch up little things like that after healing. Imagine the skill this artist will have in 10 years!

You’ve earned a new subscriber, you’re truly amazing and they way you critique these tattoos is professional! You give positive criticism and you’re so good with the words you use when pointing out weak spots. You’re not a dick about it but actually more helpful in how to improve in these areas! I’ve seen other videos like this but the people reviewing them aren’t as friendly as you, and that’s the nice way of putting it. I appreciate your content and dedication!

It always seems like ponys episodes fly by so quick! I dont even know how he finds time to make them in the first place, but i sure appreciate and love his work!
Maybe someday i can get a big piece by him! Especially since hes learning to master that shiny gold look!

Papa Pony is on point putting apprentices to tighten up, but these are some of the more put together and understanding apprentices I’ve seen. We’ve got one in the shop now brewing as we speak! It’s definitely just as hard for a mentor to do this. Why it’s also hard to get into a shop. So do not be surprised if you don’t land an apprenticeship first try. Or 10th. Bring original art if you can, we know if you bite from other artists and pieces. Same with obvious trace. It’s better to say when you had traced if you bring that in. If you try to hide it that will definitely rub em way wrong. Basically be that open that they want to help you grow. If you’re getting along with them, but just not opening. Chill at your own risk. Feel the shops out. Not all are cool like that. So yeah… good luck! It’s not hard. Just don’t be a pussy.

Not that I know about apprantices, but my expectations were a lot lower. A lot of people who call themselves tattooers, deliver a lot crappier tattoos than these.

I love your content bro it helps me as a new tattoo artist that's still practicing on practice skin to know what to work on. I know it's not like real human skin but practice makes perfect and gives me knowledge on what to work on before starting on human skin. Continue to keep the great content coming 🤘🏾💪🏾

    Pony,
I just recently found your channel, hence the late comment...
At 10:05 I thought the same thing about the strawberry looking hollow. You said there's something off about it. I'm surprised you didn't notice it...
It has me wondering if the person who took the bite had 3 teeth or 4 teeth. Lol It seems you usually notice and point out inconsistencies, but you totally missed this one! Lol
    Looking forward to more!

When I was a teenager which is like 50 some years ago, back when men wear Speedos at the swimming pool.
I noticed my dad was the only man that had a squirrel on each inner thigh standing up tall reaching up into his swimwear.
Has anyone else ever seen squirrels on inner thighs of men before ?
Or was my cool dad the only one?😊

That's not how a sticker peels off. It should be a straight line and not a curved. Things like this scares me about many tattoo artists, that they don't have an eye for how things looks and work.

It's funny how the simple ones get so much praise even when they're boring and generic as heck. Then stuff like the japanese manga tattoo gets torn into when it's clearly the most popular one on that certain video.

    • @gggthsb
      @gggthsb ปีที่แล้ว +2

This is not about what design is the coolest or most popular, it is about techniques and craftsmanship. If the tattoo isn't done well or has flaws he talks about it, no matter what the motive is.

I'm 30 and have been regretting how I never properly learned to draw growing up so now I'm worried im too old to learn. I don't want to be world famous lol i just want to have a career.

@@Gulliedoutbigup No, being in your 30s is not too old. You only have one life, and you're still young. You need to start going for the things you want to accomplish because it is your life. Your family can not live it for you unless you give them that power.
