That'd also mean you'd have anyhwere between ~180 to 260W free, depending on specializations , for oil and other stuff you'd need. All in all, it's really hefty to a) get going - you need MANY growshrooms instead of Buzzy bees on top of farming for seeds+really depends whether you'd need to continously use seed fertilizer or not on at least 1 floor which would be negative gain per hour ( prolly down to 1500ish which would mean around 3h for barrel ) b) can't be fully automated I think?? would need to give 1 Growshroom bunch of seeds + breeding fertilizer for speed and other shroomie seed fertilizer, but where and how much would they plant is questionable. Maybe the ones with breeding fertilizers are done quicker your shroom with new ones is dormant so the one with seeds goes and plants it all the way.. I guess it would be hella chaotic c) It reqires A LOT more thought on it and maintenance d) requires a lot of math and trial and testing in order to see how much is it worth I doubt this changes acid farming much. Personally think the best way is to get a friend and set him on acid and yourself on oil ( done it with buddy of mine and we produce insane amounts enough for both of us ) or if you wanna be "asshole" you make an alt and do it yourself.
Furthermore to expand. If it works like regular ones and you want to fully automate it. Let's assume that you're using seed boost only which would mean A LOT of seeds but would lock you on 1h period of growth you'd be hella dependingn on shroomie not going dormant ( let's assume he's always online when needed be ). It'd be 120 boxes x 5/4/3 crops = 600/480/360 Blueberries per 1 hour with enough seeds to replant which would mean you'd be getting enough blueberries for 1 barrel in 7/9/ 11 hours . ( used all 3 version since I have no math on gain ) In order to be able to be 1 to 1 you'd need to have 16/13/10( perfect 1-1 ratio ) barrels running 24/7 which would produce 4.6k/3.7k/2.8k acid per day which would also be taxing on your power supply depending on which one we need considering you'd need at least few pumps and purifiers for your barrels which would mean none for oil. The only issue being that it's not fully automated since you have to get to your growshrooms and give them seeds ( probably split the seeds evenly between them so if one of them is dormant you can still have it automated ). I have also probably butchered some fertilizers names so my bad ( Breeding boost adds 1 seed, growth one halfs the time ). Now those numbers are insane meaning the timing for blueberries to grow most certainly isn't 1h but most like anywhere between 2-3 which would make this hella worse. It truly needs a lot more testing. I'll put some time tommorow to hunt down and see the proper values and will come back to update on the numbers.
Nevermind I just logged in and realised Growshrooms can't put fertilizers, whilst they can automate to put the plants they can't fertilize making the entire process meaningless. I highly doubt this changes anything, gonna be highly inefficient no matter how you try to do it unless you obtain insane amount of seeds ( which isn't going to happen unless you use fertilizer ) and even if you have you'll run out sooner or later + it's not automated. Nice idea by devs, but unless fertilizers are something that can be put in planter box that lasts for a while it's relatively useless.
There's a beaut of a spot South of Silo Theta and West of the teleporter there. Not too far from Blackfell Refinery, river for water and fishing, oil spots and plenty of flat space. Been there since phase 2 opened on my server and it's glorious! 4 oil pumps, 1 water pump, 3 super refineries and 72 planting plots fully lit and irrigated.
The light bulb that just went on over my head probably blinded people for miles around. This is CONTAMINATED wheat, not DEVIATED. This makes SO much more sense. I thought it was odd that they would make the super-rare food that needs the deviated ingredients so much easier to make, but that is not the case. Thank you for this video!
I made this mistake of hyperfocusing on 1 thing in this game season 1(acid production via multiple Synthesis machines) the best thing u can do in this game is to make money doing what you enjoy, and earn links passively. Its too easy to watch this game turn into an energy link generator where all your time is consumed by managing your resource production, and none of that wealth is going to transfer over to the next season
if youre looking for more fertilzer, go to any sandy beach where shell rock and algea rock. mine those and place them into a compost bin. or expire them for spoiled food. bonus: if you have a 'canned seafood in oil' + a 'solar drill' you will get way more in a shorter time.
So you can use 3 crops per barrel, to make 3 acid per crafting timer run. When you did it the old way, you could only do 1 acid per barrel and timer. So if you have 3 barrels, then you would make 3 acids per crafting timer run the old way. (3 barrels x 1 in-pure acid per barrel = 3 Acid) With farming, you would get 9 acid per crafting timer run. (3 barrels x 3 different crops per barrel = 9 Acid) If you can do this with 4 different crops, then you would get 12 Acid per crafting timer per 3 barrels. Well i guess i know what i am going to try out. :)
Ok thats crazy. My house is currently sitting on a border of a contaminated area. Had not really wandered around here much, but just now i found a contaminated Aloe like 100 feet away from my front door =P and i got a seed off it, no gloves or sickle, wewt!
7627-1388 far right in Red Sands. If you go a bit north there a flat beach where you can base up just outside the zone and farm acid there. TONS of Stardust Ores as well. Found a lot of the new crops there as well. Planning on teaming up with a friend sharing a base but having him build a farming base there so we can teleport faster and move stuff over.
i have yet to see whether this crop acid farming is worth. BUT i do think water pump acid farming is still a lot more consistent and produces more acid overtime. The huge advantage of this crop acid farming is it only requires power for the sprinklers. I have aloe vera and berry seeds im going to breed these seeds and see what the numbers are. BUT THEN AGAIN, for me acid is not something i NEED A LOT. about 3k acid is enough for me. So crop acid farming works for me.
Horrible way to make acid. 3 berries for 1 acid. I farmed for 30 minutes. Got 6 berries 4 aloe and 2 wheat. No seeds. That's 5 acid in 30 mins (dont forget barrell processing time). That's 1 maybe 2 kills on a deviated chops run. Complete waste of grow bins.
You're missing the big picture here, by planting 50 plots (you can use a simple 2x4 foundation base and stack them with quarter walls) and assuming you get 4 polluted crops per harvest, you'll get 200 polluted aloe vera, which translates into 100 acid. You can farm enough seeds with fertilizer to automate the entire process by giving all your seeds to Growshroom deviants so they'll farm them 24/7 and you'll very likely be able to farm 1k acid per day, passively, all you need to do is collect from your Growshrooms then re-slot the seeds.
Theres lots of places to get oil and water. I moved to a new place for Acid farm. Barreled Oil is super easy to farm with the Workshops. Just run the one at Blackfield Oil Refinery and people will join and you can run so many times. Also it's bugged right now so enemies dont even attack you
@@fu6817 I literally have like 10 lvl IV's and if you use the deviated chops you can get like 300 acid in one workshop run at Blackfell refinery. And it is super easy. Just block entraces, use a few turrets (like 3 is plenty) and use fire traps at entrances and easy complete everytime
Issue won't be the power, it'll be the limit to how many facilities u can build...as each crop plot adds to that number. But u can may be produce 150-200 acid per crop-cycle. And that's not bad.
This is going to be massive for combating toxicity. On our hard server the only issues weve had are people scamming buffed facilities, and people trolling and fighting each other, ON PVE BTW, over these very finite spots. Now that you can literally FARM acid, there should be barely any of those fights now.
Hmmm... Good idea for those who don't live in a polluted zone. I might buy 10 seeds and move out somewhere else as the polluted zone is very crowded right now. Make it really hard to do chaotic cortex purification. This way my life on the pvp server might be better.
If you have Oil Processing then the same contaminated zones you get the contaminated crops from are where you get Stardust Ore from. Convert the acid to fuel, add to forge with stardust ore, get stardust source. No oil fields required, only pollution.
I just started playing after the first wipe. So about Gaia Research Institute ruins, isn't that black stuff there in the delta OIL on the ground or no. I tried to build near it but couldn't. Looks like I have to just brave it into the higher level area and put down roots.
I just got one seed. Sadly wheat but will try for aloe. Making fertilizer to get more seeds so I can produce and move to an oil field near water so I can get everything going.
After this update alot of the furniture in my house dissappeared and also my pipes don't show from the pumps. Only a few show, they're still working but this update bought some bugs
dumb question but what do you need all the money for? I have not really seen a point to having more than the 400k it takes for phase 6. You sell idk 250 links worth of stuff each phase meaning you would have about 1.1mil links for the season. I have a hard time thinking all that will get used...
If u get Sulphur chemist its a good perk but costs a ton a enery links. Its more active like farming. Nothing beats black fell for oil and acid lucky i got my spot this time
800 acid from 15 minutes of cargo scramble? That's not my experience of cargo scramble. Low level areas don't yield as much and there's nowadays always someone else farming the event too.
@@fu6817 yeah I'm being legit. The one around top of chalk peak then the one in black fell. If they're busy the one at the level 25 zone just outside the camp
There are a total of 5 ways now to farm acid 1. Mob farmer 2. Polluted water farm 3. Sulfur chemist memetic 4. Oil precessor and art of stardust decay memetic (might be the best, since you could also farm stardust resource) 5. Crop farm Wish theres a deviant that auto seed your crops base from previous crop entity, since we already have a auto harvester (growshroom).
People are WAY to focused on acid and oil farms. Just farm some sproutlets now and then, and straight up buy the acid and barreled fuel from Nisa. Not had to grind, nor farm anything and I am stuck at thousands of each item. Contaminated stuff is 3 -> 1, so quite a lot of effort needed per acid there.
Not Really, You can't FARM too many, one slot of soil count as 1 of your facility like pumps, osmosis, water tank, adv gear/supply workbench, stoves, kitchen, etc. etc. even Turret and defensive device(capped at 20) are count...every facilities you put into your house count as 1 including Soil which we are capped at 250/250. And NO streamer/youtuber are telling you that til you can't lay another soil and wondering why.
U are hard capped by the number of planter boxes due to the furniture cap even going all in would mean 200 planters ish assuming u dont grow mushrooms for fertilizer. Thats about 250 ish crop per harvest using basic fert. So like 80 acid per 6-12 hours... not nearly as good as polluted water acid farm
some people might not know but if you grow food in the contaminated area and leave them for a while they become contaminated. So in reality you don't have to hunt down contaminated plants.
What’s the purpose of contaminated plants? That’s like my first harvest that i grow and I didn’t know what’s the purpose of contaminated plant lol. My base is near one of the settlements near deadsville lol.

This kind of massively breaks the whole pay 50 EL to convert the sulfer you spent hours smashing into acid transaction, a lot. To me acid simply is not worth farming from polluted water, the numbers do not allow it on a decent scale without it being the sole purpose of your base... this effectively replaces 30 pumps at 10w each with 120 planters and about 10w and some bricks.
Aye. As chill as acid pumping is, I use 18 Pumps, 2 purifiers and 4 barrels. That's an ungodly amount of power, water, and functional slots that I use up. Of course, every few hours I get 400+ acid for free and I'm often sitting on 10k acid even when not playing for days, but the farming method may be interesting when properly set up. Getting seeds is often horrible though. Took me days to go from 1 morel seed to 30
If you are in the deposit menu of items on the right where is has the items to deposit top right corner of each item it shows a number.. 10•1 2•1 that is the ratio.. other ways to find that out as well that I can't think of off the top of my head.
So let me see.......These crops are rare and to get seeds even rarer and to get ONE acid takes 2 crop. You can kill one npc and get 5 acid OR you can simply buy acid for 60 energy links and since its really easy to get energy links you basically do not have to worry about getting acid so urm..... why would anyone bother doing this lol. Its sounds good but in practice its pointless and anyone that has already done one season will know that they really didnt have to worry about getting acid so having a new way to get acid that is a pain is not great.
lets see if farming crops for acid is better or more of a waste of time than the pumps!!!!!! Each sprinkler will consume 1200 water a day running and depending how you setup the farm with a max of 72 planter per sprinkler and you are still able to access all of them... with 20 pumps running you get 1150 acid a day and the blackfell area is a joke I can get more fuel in 1 hour looting the cars in the desert than i can with 6 refineries running 24 hours I will have the refineries making the premium fuel only and more pumps for the acid if needed and take advantage of the deviation generator since you are in a polluted area already.

Thats a lot of effort just for acid which is now a low value material in season 2 servers. Monsters do drop more acid even in phase1. You will never ran out of it as there are multiple events that gives hundreds in just one run. Acid is only very valuable in phase2 as people are still starting to farm it. But when phase 3 starts and so on, everyone will have a lot of it. In my previous server I ended up with 12,000 acid that I can't even use. I have 6 super refinery that converts all of my acid to oil and make it a premium barrel but still ended up with tons of it. At the end of phase 5 i was just wasting my acid, tungsten and stardust to make tungsten AP ammo coz i already got a lot of resources that I will not be able to use in next season. This is the problem of the game. The fun only peaks at 3rd phase and it's boring after that. People are just waiting to transition.
@@evilkamatis542 yeah man it wasn't that complex. You said you wasted acid making Tungsten AP Ammo. Why was it a waste? did it provide benefit? @@pedronalesso1464 yes I know exactily what I'm saying, and it's actually worse than what I stated as the ratio isn't 1:1 it requires more plants to just make 1 acid. You will have to continually breed more seeds to maintain a poor return.

d) requires a lot of math and trial and testing in order to see how much is it worth
I doubt this changes acid farming much.
( used all 3 version since I have no math on gain )
In order to be able to be 1 to 1 you'd need to have 16/13/10( perfect 1-1 ratio ) barrels running 24/7 which would produce 4.6k/3.7k/2.8k acid per day which would also be taxing on your power supply depending on which one we need considering you'd need at least few pumps and purifiers for your barrels which would mean none for oil.
@@antekordic thanks for this info. This is not a good method i will stay with my current setup
It took 12hours for berries and wheat.. And 24 hourd for aloe vera... Which mean.. Only 3-4 acid per spot each day..
There's a beaut of a spot South of Silo Theta and West of the teleporter there. Not too far from Blackfell Refinery, river for water and fishing, oil spots and plenty of flat space. Been there since phase 2 opened on my server and it's glorious! 4 oil pumps, 1 water pump, 3 super refineries and 72 planting plots fully lit and irrigated.
coordinates?
Thanks for this HUGE tip Z,
This make it much more fair for everyone in the game to get acid AND oil and water!
I'll be working on this ASAP.
Great vid!
(3 barrels x 1 in-pure acid per barrel = 3 Acid)
With farming, you would get 9 acid per crafting timer run.
(3 barrels x 3 different crops per barrel = 9 Acid)
If you can do this with 4 different crops, then you would get 12 Acid per crafting timer per 3 barrels.
Well i guess i know what i am going to try out. :)
I found this out on my own as I was farming startrace ore near the mountain with the bears cave. Picked 20 berries but only got 3 seeds.
Ah, so this is why I got so many new neighbours today....
Ok thats crazy. My house is currently sitting on a border of a contaminated area. Had not really wandered around here much, but just now i found a contaminated Aloe like 100 feet away from my front door =P
and i got a seed off it, no gloves or sickle, wewt!
I’ll save you the trouble. It’s not worth it. 3 contaminated plants makes 1 acid.
@@iurutanyensa u can get seeds and start farming them tho just saying
Horrible way to make acid. 3 berries for 1 acid. I farmed for 30 minutes. Got 6 berries 4 aloe and 2 wheat. No seeds. That's 5 acid in 30 mins (dont forget barrell processing time). That's 1 maybe 2 kills on a deviated chops run. Complete waste of grow bins.
The point is that it’s passive, you can go to sleep and come back to some ready for you.
Nah use crop method better
Starting up takes a while, but once up and running you're sorted.
Sounds like you just don't want to put in the effort and get everything easily
Theres lots of places to get oil and water. I moved to a new place for Acid farm. Barreled Oil is super easy to farm with the Workshops. Just run the one at Blackfield Oil Refinery and people will join and you can run so many times. Also it's bugged right now so enemies dont even attack you
You need the permits to run workshop. They are not that common.
Very handy info dude. Cheers
This is huge. Those seeds are going to be expensive. Defo taking them with me into new season start
Hmmm... Good idea for those who don't live in a polluted zone.
I might buy 10 seeds and move out somewhere else as the polluted zone is very crowded right now. Make it really hard to do chaotic cortex purification.
This way my life on the pvp server might be better.
Excellent update - started farming / fermenting berries and aloe vera
Nice change
How are your generators running? You don't seem to be in a contaminated area. Your backpack has no number in it.
Oil fields still premium, nowhere else you can farm Stardust Source. Acid were always a by-product of Oil Fields and still the same with this update.
How do u farm stardust source?
If you have Oil Processing then the same contaminated zones you get the contaminated crops from are where you get Stardust Ore from. Convert the acid to fuel, add to forge with stardust ore, get stardust source. No oil fields required, only pollution.
@MrGrimsmith oh yeah I have that I was confusing myself thanks
I just started playing after the first wipe. So about Gaia Research Institute ruins, isn't that black stuff there in the delta OIL on the ground or no. I tried to build near it but couldn't. Looks like I have to just brave it into the higher level area and put down roots.
oh yeah great another 100 acid an hour farm that takes way too much work and will just end with acid sitting in eternaland at the end of season!
So they remove the Acid production specialization w/c is just sulfur and energy to make Acid?
I just got one seed. Sadly wheat but will try for aloe. Making fertilizer to get more seeds so I can produce and move to an oil field near water so I can get everything going.
i JUST finished setting up my acid water pump thingy :D
Nice, this is very helpful, also this is much faster than impure acid, impure take 20 minutes to purify, these take what 5 minutes to ferment....
I have a hard time thinking all that will get used...
how do you get the gardening gloves and the harvesting sythe?
If u get Sulphur chemist its a good perk but costs a ton a enery links. Its more active like farming. Nothing beats black fell for oil and acid lucky i got my spot this time
You need energy link source for sure.
Or you can do 2 cargo missions in 15 mins and go buy acid from the shop for sproutlets and get like 800...
100% keen to get this up and running
There are a total of 5 ways now to farm acid
1. Mob farmer
2. Polluted water farm
3. Sulfur chemist memetic
4. Oil precessor and art of stardust decay memetic (might be the best, since you could also farm stardust resource)
5. Crop farm
Wish theres a deviant that auto seed your crops base from previous crop entity, since we already have a auto harvester (growshroom).
growshrooms autoseed if you deposit seeds to their facility

nothing even comes close to the performance of sulfurchemist
How long do contaminated crops take to grow?
U are hard capped by the number of planter boxes due to the furniture cap even going all in would mean 200 planters ish assuming u dont grow mushrooms for fertilizer. Thats about 250 ish crop per harvest using basic fert. So like 80 acid per 6-12 hours... not nearly as good as polluted water acid farm
The real benefit lies in using the power u would have otherwise used for barrels and pumps for refineries so u can produce more fuel instead of acid
I found a spot a little north where theres oil near the river and a road so its got everything. also ive seen 2 different gold nodes from my house.
love this update because i am always short on acid :D
Fertilizer breeding boost gives two seeds per plant every time??
some people might not know but if you grow food in the contaminated area and leave them for a while they become contaminated. So in reality you don't have to hunt down contaminated plants.
What’s the purpose of contaminated plants? That’s like my first harvest that i grow and I didn’t know what’s the purpose of contaminated plant lol. My base is near one of the settlements near deadsville lol.
@@Way2go926 I used them for orange foods. but now you can use it for acid, acid and gunpowder makes ammo.
So contaminated plants already exist before update, i don't konow about that

Were these plants only available in Phase 2? (My server is still phase 1).
That looks like a skin from CoD.
Edit, I play zombies and I just looked at a bundle that to expand the number of operators you can get, and the skins for one of those bundles looks exactly like that.
I want to start the new season but it apears to me only hard servers_¿? is that normal?
Took me days to go from 1 morel seed to 30
Where did you get the cool outfit?
If you are in the deposit menu of items on the right where is has the items to deposit top right corner of each item it shows a number.. 10•1 2•1 that is the ratio.. other ways to find that out as well that I can't think of off the top of my head.
How did you manage to reduce the time in brewing barrel, from 20min to 3min?
It was probably just an edit in the video, I think they still take 20 min for me.
@@Z1Gaming ok thanks a lot!
yeah thats defenetlly the best farm for acid so far of course if u dont have to sulfur chemist
But then u need some way to get tons of energy links . If u can make gold and silver and sell out shops weekly then it's good
I need my energy links to max out gear first
3:36 this makes me icky for some reason
So let me see.......These crops are rare and to get seeds even rarer and to get ONE acid takes 2 crop.
You can kill one npc and get 5 acid OR you can simply buy acid for 60 energy links and since its really easy to get energy links you basically do not have to worry about getting acid so urm..... why would anyone bother doing this lol.
Its sounds good but in practice its pointless and anyone that has already done one season will know that they really didnt have to worry about getting acid so having a new way to get acid that is a pain is not great.
Less power less but way more effort to farm seeds then super slow tho... Can't say it's an efficient way to farm acid
i farm 300+ acids in 25 min killing monsters, no need acid farm
This. Just eat the right food, forgot the name lol. Easy af to make with peppercorns.
agree, same with special fuel, just run those passes at labs and get way more than you would passive farming in a day you can get in 10 minutes

Can they be farmed outside of polluted zones?
Yes, if you have contaminated seeds.
I dont know if u know this but go to build mode and press L key, see what happens!
There is a bug where this doesn't work. That's why people suggest picking things up and putting them down again to make the pipes appear.
now i know what those are for haha, i kinda have a bunched of them but only got 1 seed too while farming stardust ores
Will deviants harvest them?
How long do they all grow all the videos tell us how to make it but not how long each crop taks
So you got 4 acid from 30 minutes of gathering +other materials? Can't you show how to get tons of acid or is this a scam?

Seems like a lot of work lol. Kinda burned out.

Regarding water. just put down a pump in an area with no pollution or oil.
The water pump dose not need a water source, it can be placed over land.
But musrhom deviant canot put fertalizer do
lets see if farming crops for acid is better or more of a waste of time than the pumps!!!!!!
I never anderstand this jussless farming msot be for people with only few hours a week to play? i never ended a seasion with not to much resorces and thne some smart kid gonna say yer but if you have alot of this you can sell them for el and thne buy calibration blue prints ok but we alreayd have them and yes moving you´r fav upgrades 4-6 star wep cost yes but worth it if you have bis calibrations on it and you end up with 500k+ el any way after you buyed every thing in the game for it ? for this to be worth it we need a global market and more things to buy for the EL. This is like the buffs you get from prestine food jusless sure its fine to grow a little bear but few hours later he´s big like a house thats how much fun i had with that and staking buffs are not that op for the work behind it.
Worse way for acid
Well if you wanna full farm base that base can put every where what you want just need 3 thing sulfur alchemist, oil processing, super refinery
Good luck getting those memetics.
It's not a game changer.
I challenge your use of the word waste, if you have excess of the materials required why not build the better ammo? this is exactly what I do with it
This is actually somewhat true, that's why I always convert my acids to source in a 1 to 1 ratio, since red plasmas get really expensive late game.
@@NeilSearle thats literally what I said. Did you actually read the whole comment?
@@evilkamatis542 yeah man it wasn't that complex. You said you wasted acid making Tungsten AP Ammo. Why was it a waste? did it provide benefit? Naah, id rather do some blackfell refinery runs, and in 1 hour make as much acid as i would make in a week using contaminated crops. You people are making a huge deal out of the most minor things just for clicks and views.
Thats awesome, you can go do that! This is for people who want to make a passive farm that will generate resources while they do something other than the same thing over and over again. Best part about games is everyone can play how they want. Thanks for the comment, it helps improve engagement for the video increasing its reach to even more people!
It’s supposed to be passive farming.. no need to put much effort into your grinding method. 🙄. You don’t like this method then why are u watching it? Take the L
I'm skeptical about how valid this method is but it sure makes sense to make a video about it. It is a new mechanic and a nice additiin for the ppl who prefer a casual playstyle. You'd be surprised how many ppl play this game like a farmingsimulator and base building sim :-)
you are never going to grow this much of the resources, you will need breeding fertiliser all the time, this is terrible exchange rate at 1-1
Are you sure on what you are saying? With Aloe Vera all I had to do was collect one seed then multiply them, once you have enough seeds you stop using multiply seeds fertilizer
@@pedronalesso1464 yes I know exactily what I'm saying, and it's actually worse than what I stated as the ratio isn't 1:1 it requires more plants to just make 1 acid. You will have to continually breed more seeds to maintain a poor return.
Not worth it.
